Horrible room. Room was not cleaned even after telling staff. One of their maintenance men came in our room at 530 am. Grabbed my friends leg. She woke up screaming went to hall were no lights or cameras. We called the police. Hotel did nothing and we couldn't get a refund due to 3rd party booking. Motel 6 would've been 5 star compared to this dump. Won't be staying on south padre ever again. My friend is following up with a detective before this predator rapes someone. Horrible experience. Be careful out there.

We arrived for our trip on a Sunday. It was a nightmare. Everything seems so unorganized. There were a lot of people waiting for their room. Rooms were not ready at 4pm as promise. By the time we got to our room, it was 6pm. Things are definitely out dated. Phone doesn’t work in the room. One lamp does not function out of the two in the room. Walls are dirty. Linen smells clean but has stains. One of the drink was already opened and drank from their snacks. There’s no hand soap by the sink. The positive things about this place is the pool nice, easy access to the beach, and the staff was friendly. Room was a little loud in the middle of the night. Doors were being slammed and trash cans lid were being thrown around. We will not be returning.

Simply the pleasant customer service makes you see a perfect 👌🏻 room.

Worst costumer service. The place is very old with no maintenance. They rent things with out even having spots on the beach. Rude very rude people. Saw many other costumers upset and complained. Never again. I travel very much never had been to a place with this type of (costumer service)

A/C doesn’t work. Room smells like an old basement. Constant loud construction. Swim up bar does not exist. Elevator barely works, pool is ice cold, not heated like advertised. Not well maintained at all. Extremely overpriced.

Poor quality construction, run down facilities and frustrating policies. Had to sign out pool towle with risk of $30 fee in not returned to lobby. Many many better properties on the island. Pool sign reflects the quality of how this place is run. Refrigerator rusty and doesn’t stay closed.

I am a hot tub guy, I love to drink my coffee in the hot tub in the morning no matter the outside temp, I book vacation stays based on if they have one, multiple mornings the hot tub was shut off and the water was cold. 👎. Pools were ice cold even though the site said a heated pool bar with swim up bar… FALSE, bar was never open. Drinks were way over priced compared to any other establishment on the island. They are big on quick to ding for extra charges. Parking lot is a long hall away, once every 6 times you will catch a gentlemen doing golf cart rides. But there are several better hotel resort spas on the island and they were significantly cheaper.

Excellent service, very spacious rooms, the service in the restaurant is one of the best I have ever known.

Worse experience ever. Nancy who calls herself manager charged us for charges that we didn’t even sign. Also charged our guest $80 more and said she couldn’t refund the money but credit umbrellas when there was a high tide and was 8pm at night. I highly recommend you guys check your banks or stay else where.

The view and beach are phenomenal. That’s the only thing this place has going for it. It is apparent that this place is used as a crash pad for spring breakers. The bathroom seemed updated, oh and the tv. But the furniture, walls, and doors are in desperate need of replacement. As I was unaware that the kids went back to school, it was virtually abandoned. The spa was closed; looks like just a converted room. The restaurant opened late, no breakfast to order, and closed by lunch time. I left 2 days early to stay at another suite down the road.

I only recommend for the beach front view and access. If your wanting an actual resort feel, do not come here.
As with the rest of the island, they are very behind the times. Many things have just been patched and no repaired, which is very noticeable. They claim free breakfast but there wasn't any, and when I asked about it, she didn't speak English. I asked a gentleman laster about it and he told me he didn't know anything because he doesn't work that shift.
The pool was great and had plenty of space.
Just a general lack of maintenance and customer service here.

Great service and awsome stay, very clean.

RUDE staff. Pissed off the entire complimentary breakfast times because they had to do their job. Wouldn’t answer ANY questions! Not to mention they didn’t open until 30 minutes after 8 am. If you have stuff at the pool be prepared for it to be THROWN over the fence. The maids will steal your belongings and say they haven’t been in your room although it was just cleaned. Front desk is ridiculously unhelpful. One of the worst resorts hands down. And the pictures must be from 10 years ago because this is comparable to a motel 8.

We booked spa services for the day. It was fabulous and the ladies who tended to us were very kind. Great service.

Room smelled like fabuloso and for the money it is lower class than La Quinta where we could have stayed for less than half. No room service, not that the restaurant is acceptable. Best thing was the pool which is large clean w/2 not-hottubs (only 1 warm at all) between 2 smaller buildings… which creates powerful wind tunnel. Concierge not very accommodating.

Not the most upscale place what what a bang for your buck and can tell they have been working on renovations for more of a guest experience. Have spent two wedding anniversaries here and plan on many more. Staff is friendly, prices are reasonable, beach just a walk away and music all day everyday. Definitely a place to retreat or take the family. See sunrise on Gulf and sunset on bay right on property.

Elegant & Modern! Very clean and service is very attentive. Its pleasant enough to spend the week right on the resort.

Amazing experience! The room was gorgeous and clean! They let us check in at 2:45 which was a plus! Loved the manager she was super sweet and accommodating to us! The pool was amazing! The only thing that really needs work is the restaurant, the bartender Miguel was super disrespectful, I asked him for a malibu with coke and he said he was out of malibu and coke but had another rum, I asked him if it was similar to the malibu and he said "I wouldn't know what to tell you". He never came to the pool side bar and when I went in he was wrapping silverware. Overall everything was great! EXCEPT THE BAR.
Oh and try the nachos! They're good.

I loved it. Very nice. I love the beds very spacious the presidential suite was a more than what I had expected the staff is friendly.

Staff really couldn't care less. This is a motel / low caliber hotel at best, not a resort. Extremely poor customer service. The parking lot is far from the actual hotel, which means your vehicle is out of sight. Super sketchy property, didn't feel safe. Elevator super slow, every time. Not ADA friendly. My car got repeatedly scratched after a complaint was made to Booking about the disgusting conditions of the motel. We felt as though we were catfished by the stock photos that depict as a destination it isn't. False representation. Multiple safety hazards throughout property. My photos speak for themselves. Run from this place.

Everything was perfect! Great service nice restaurant, good and quality people around, great food, awesome drinks and very comfortable place to be on your next vacations. Thanks to the restaurant crew and thanks peninsula resort.

Under construction and they have so many rules for example you cant have guest visiting you if you want to each of your guest will pay $25 each I dont recommend at all seriously.

By far the worst experience ever in a “report &spa” as they call themselves. First off, they don’t mention that they are under construction which makes it very loud and dirty. My room is on the 5th floor and I am told I can not use the elevator because it is closed off for construction. Ok, so we walk up 5 flights of stairs with our belongings. When we get to 5th floor, there are no rails and only have some folded ladders with plastic netting advising you to be care not to fall over and making a very narrow space to walk through with all our belongings. Can’t find my room so I ask for assistance, a construction worker opens a very dirty beaten down door (I thought it was a storage room since I could only see mop carts inside) and they tell me my room is through there. Sure enough there is another small door through there which is my room. Ok so we get to the room and I call front desk because I had reserved a king size bed. This room had what looked like two over size twin beds yet not big enough to be full size beds. So I call front desk and advise of it and also mention that the pillows were stained and smelled dirty (I hope I can post pictures of all this). So the front desk lady tells me that she had given me a luxury suite! I told her that maybe a “non-luxury” room was better than this smelly dingy room. So she again asks me if I wanted this room with king size bed, and of course I wanted out of this one.

Good and excellent food at restaurant.

Horrible customer service from the start. Very pricey rooms, no intranet service, would not recommend last time we go there. My room was in the 2nd floor, hallway smelled horrible like wet rag or something. Beds where not queen size they were maybe a full bed, hard beds not comfortable, had to wear a wrist band if in the pool front desk workers would come out every hour or so to check your band so instead of enjoying your self or having a great time you had to ease your had to show them your wrist band wow. Building does not look like a resort it is more like a motel 6.

Space, clean, good service, not over crowded, even if it is a bit pricy, totally worth it!

We rented the 3 bedroom Apartment. The rooms were very clean, spacious, great views on the beach. Big pool with a water bar next to the restaurant. My apartment door was worn out n flimsy, and key pad was out of battery, we just locked the door from the inside. The dryer made a loud noise and was super old. The dish washer had rust. But the dishes were clean.

This place is a complete dump. Good luck getting a clean room and, if you do, good luck getting someone to clean it daily during your stay. Despite multiple calls and visits to the desk, we could not get a cleaning crew to come to our room. The ceiling of the room was covered in a thick layer of dust and the cabinets and other fixtures were falling apart. Today, part of the stucco facade were falling off and landing near guests in the pool area! How exciting. The rooms are very outdated and the entire facility needs major renovations. Stay anywhere but here.

Visited the resort for drinks. The views are amazing. Beautiful infinity pool. Variety of games to play. Boardwalk leads straight to the beach with lots of dunes. The drinks were good but they close early. So we didn't stay long but the staff was nice and attentive. Even gave us a ride up to the resort from the parking lot. Qll in all I was impressed.

When entering Peninsula Island you do drive all the way to the hotel pass the parking lot. Be aware that the Front Desk is on the right hand side by the pool it is not marked by a big sign. My biggest recommendation would be better signage for the front desk. The pool is amazing. It has two parts. On very large with a hot rob that leads into a smaller pool where it has a bar access and another hot tub. There is outdoor chess, checkers and corn hole. The beach access is very nice. It is mostly on a walk way not too much sand. I was greeted by a very polite young woman who gave us our room information, towels and wrist bands. There is breakfast in the morning, room service and a mini bar. It is really family friendly with that state of being able to sit by the pool with a drink. The rooms were nice with a balcony view to the pool or beach. The bar is very nice with some tropical drink options. As door staff everyone was very polite and helpful if I had questions.

The room itself wasn’t bad, but after driving 8 hours, (having our reservation for 5+ days) we couldn’t get into our room until 4pm, but we arrived at 2:30. The front was not very helpful and seemed over whelmed. The property has a sewer smell and is one hell of a walk from the parking lot. Not worth the price at all! Do not let the photos fool you. We will never return. *note: I do not get my jollies off leaving bad reviews, this is my honest to goodness opinions and experiences.

Definitely not a Resort, but has its ups and downs. We had to listen to front desk staff argue on check in and it put us in a bad mood for a time. Also learned that you have to wear a wrist band and if you lose it you have to pay $25 bucks. It was hard to sleep with the band on it was uncomfortable. The double beds seemed smaller than normal so could not sleep two in a bed. The restaurant was good and the staff was friendly on a positive note. Two other issues are the condition the place was in it needs a lot of work. The decking is bowed and tiles around the pool are missing or falling out. Also when you book they mention the place has umbrellas and chairs for the beach, but they charge you $30 bucks. We weren’t the only who thought they were included like with most resorts. We watched as several guest learned that fact from attendant. I tried to leave early, but they said a refund was not possible and they did not let me talk to owner. Definitely needs to not represent themselves as a Resort. This is an over priced hotel.

My bf and I stayed for one night. We thought check in was at 3, apparently it’s at 4. No biggie, just one hour right? It would have been a lot better if there was any place to wait at the check in desk. Most places have a lobby where there is some seating, but this place was the size of a small bedroom and had two chairs, both occupied by other customers who were having problems. We ended up standing outside because the room started to get packed. And it wasn’t worth it to go back to the car because if you’re not lucky enough to catch a ride on one of the carts, it’s a looooong walk. We finally get to our room at 4 and had planned to go down to the beach and are trying to get the hotels umbrellas and chairs, but apparently they pick those up at 5. No one told us that. So that sucked too. In our room, and balcony door lock was broken so we couldn’t go out and enjoy the little view we had. The shower door was also messed up. Oh, and I should mention, it was pretty hard to find the room in the first place. Nothing is labeled. There’s a door with no signs that leads to another’s hallway where the rooms are. Check out is at 11am. I’ve been to plenty of places where check in is at 3 and check out at 12. For a “4-star resort, ” that was pretty stupid. Felt like I’d been cheated two hours of my stay. Not a pleasant experience overall.

Not great place. Can use paint and updating, wearing bracelets everyday is not ideal. Not sure why it’s needed if no one checks. The front desk very busy, a lot confusion. Ordered extra towels one night, never got them. Breakfast horrible. Only two waffle makers and since thats really the only thing to eat, you have to wait along time. The cleaning staff didn’t clean the kitchen. They cleaned the room but not kitchen. Stay was ok.

Beach is just feet away staff was great the evening desk lady had a very smart mouth everything you asked her was a smart response not friendly… the only thing I suggest a faster elevator took near 5 min just to get on (room was on 6th floor) its very slow, and the parking it's far from hotel one side of the building lights were all off they shut the lights off at the pool at 10pm even by the dock no lights all dark like they are trying to save on the light bill had to use my phone to get to the beach, not a 5 star hotel more like a 1-3 star luckily Room was was nice and luxury (Pics are deceiving) From Atlanta, Ga.

I mistakenly booked two rooms for my honeymoon, called to cancel as soon as I booked. They told me all would be fine they cancelled one of the rooms and I wouldn't be charged twice. Two days later I was charged twice so a LOT of money was taken from my account. I called immediately and was put on hold for 20 minutes and they finally told me that it would be refunded in 3-5 business days. It's been 2 WEEKS and I have yet to see my money back. Every time I call (which has been frequent) I get put on hold for at least 15 minutes and no one can seem to help me. One said the refund was processing, one said they didn't see a refund in process, but every time there seems to be no progress. My honeymoon is supposed to be relaxing and I was looking forward to staying here but not anymore. They put me through to a managers number, who didn't answer and whose voicemail couldn't take messages, the email address doesn't work either. How are things supposed to get done? UPDATE! I was finally given my money back 2 weeks after the fact. Thank you to them for that, but still frustrated it took so long when it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Where do I start? There were no towels for the pool there was one towel in our room… the room was for four people. One of the beds did not have a comforter. The Linens for the pull out couch we're super scratchy and had a huge hairball. The first room we got, we couldn't open the balcony door. We were moved to a second room… And that one didn't lock. It would not have been such a big deal except I was traveling with a small child. The evening desk person was very standoffish … The morning desk person was very nice. It's better to pay for the breakfast… If not just skip the free one. Avoid the elevator. The pool is very nice… That's the only reason we wanted to go there. I guess it's good for a day trip.

The studio condo is not to bad but could use a few things, very few pans to cook, no broom or vacuum. Washer broke. Wi-Fi sucks. The pool is very nice and clean. Long Walk from parking lot and very confusing when you first come in to register. Decking needs replaced on walkway. The building needs painted. The general up keep could be better. No rugs too help with water so floors are slippery my husband fell in bathroom. Floors all tile.

With access to the beach and comfortable. Only lack of BBQ areas and the doors are not entirely new.

Where to start. 1. No clear parking directions with signs to check-in office 2. No towels offered for the pool 3. Elevator stopped working at night and the complete day on Friday and we were on the 6th floor with a 2 & 4 year old. They say it was due to a storm that we never saw or heard as we were up most of the night 4. Free breakfast with our package was far short of a 4-star hotel. Cereal, waffles, fruit I expect at 2-3 star not 4 star. And not about to take your food to your room, really that tight. And postings like customers were kids. 5. Most people we encountered would say the same as they were very disappointed in the experience of the hotel. 4-Star it’s not.

It far from being a 4 star hotel. The place is in a good location but lacks minor repair & paint.

Excellent facilities, very good location, very good service, very tasty breakfast although limited, very clean pool as well as the rooms, in summary an excellent option to enjoy a rich vacation on the island of Father, Tx.

Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Washing machine didn't work and there was only one so I had to go to a laundry. Ice machine didn't work and the hotel restaurant closed at 8pm so hard to get ice from them. But other than that they were accomadating to our needs. Last thing to say. So this was my honeymoon and we wanted a beach view. I would have had to get the three bedroom just to have that view bad idea if it's just a couple cause you only get a partial view. Hope they make some changes but I will use this hotel again.

We got the room up to the 4y30s and they didn't even put covert sheets next service The American breakfast did not serve nor the coffee I would not recommend this hotel for anything.

If I could I wouldn't even give them a star… elevator didn't work all day or night I can say from 4 years ago instead of upgrading it's going down I can compare it to the 60 a night hotels like beachside inn and my pregnant wife had to walk up and down 6 floors because that's the floor we got you could say why didn't you get something better but I can say 4 years ago it's was elite that's why I came back but now I rather get any other cheap room I hope my opinion matters and do something about it because it's sad that a hotel that used to be on the top now is in the bottom. Disappointed … the pool not even 100 percent clean that's what had my hopes up the pool but even the pool I wouldn't rate it 5 2.5 on the pool and breakfast don't really care for can go and eat anywhere went to go check it out people talking that the waffle machine was burning the pancakes little stuff adds up, and made me hate my stay it was a bad weekend. To whom it may concern thank you …

The resort is run down. They had our rental car towed. Didn't noticerize us first. Cost me 410.36. Don't go there.

Groupon had lots of hidden fees (fees after sale & cleaning fee). Paid more than expected. Had to ask front desk twice to get room cleaned & fresh towels. Nice view, right on beach.

By far the best place to stay at the island. Don't eat the snacks in the room though! Lol… Update 2/19/18 This time around didn't enjoy our stay, the room felt dirty and the most upsetting part was NO HOT WATER to shower after coming back from being in sand (so uncomfortable) called front desk and was told they send someone to check it out but after an hour no-one wanted to pick up when we called, after several attempts to reach them through our phone they picked up. Any how I'll never stay here again (so many wrong things in our room) not to mention we're on the six floor and elevators are still not working & yes I could use the exercise by going down the stairs but its kinda difficult with an ice chest while hold on to luggage. Don't think I want to wait an hour to get assistance after so many folks are also needing it.

I feel compelled to share our experience while staying here for the last 30 days. It has been beyond disappointing. The manager is very nice and so are the workers that try, for the most part, to address all the issues that come up on a daily basis at this facility. But their hands are full believe me. Our three bedroom unit is lacking in basic function, not to mention the shabby furniture you try to set on in the living area. Our window blinds are torn and because of that don’t lay down. Therefore everyone that walks by can see into our unit. I asked for replacement blinds from unoccupied room and was told they didn’t have any more. We are on the ground floor right by the pool. The stools barely flush, our oven wouldn’t work, the microwave only works if you jiggle the door just right, the sheets are clean but the bedspreads were not, the furnace filter was filthy and not the kind you can wash off and reinsert. Instead of getting us a new one they tried to wash it and then put it back in! They couldn’t of course, cause it’s not that kind of filter! So I finally told them to go get us a new filter as it was down in low 40’s outside and I was tired of the furnace being off while they tried to stuff a wet filter into the unit! The front door of the unit should be trashed as even a 200 lb man has trouble opening it as it is shot.

Good location just off the beach. Comfortable but needs updates in some areas. Nice pools and spas for kids or adults. Swim up bar on summer.

I've stayed here several times over the years. Stayed in the studios to the 3 bedroom condos. I love the 3 bedroom condos so much space and they have everything in the kitchen you would need for a comfortable stay. Love the wrap around balconies such a beautiful view! Alan from maintenance even recognized me from my past vists Lol he was such a great help bringing our stuff to and from our room. Sometimes they have the go carts running to help guest to and from parking lot but you can also drive up the sidewalk to the building to unload. (A lot of guest don't know that) Had an amazing massage from Claudia she found every knot I must have had. I love it. Breakfast from their restaurant is always my favorite. One of the two jacuzzis doesn't heat up but their infinity pool is beautiful. Right on the beach and has access from there huge deck area and lounge chairs. They are usually short staffed but I often stay during the off season so I figured that's why. My kids and family and friends love it here and we will always come back.

Great resort, right on the water. Nice pool with a swim up bar that's heated. Nice rooms, nice views.

I stayed here for two nights with my family and my 2 year old son had the best time playing on the beach. After we ate some delicious beef nachos at the restaurant we enjoyed the warm pool and the hot tub was amazing! Friendly and helpful staff made this stay a great one. The room we stayed in was so comfortable and clean. Will be back again for sure.

Perfect location and friendly staff make the Peninsula a great vacation spot! The kids loved the heated pool and hot tub and the adults loved the beach view! Highly recommend!

This place has a lot of potential if they could just fix a few issues. The rooms aren't bad, but they could use a touch up, even a paint job. The front door is hard to open, there is some rust by the door handle and some of the walls are dirty. The TV sucks! No HBO or any movie channels. The TV guide is not your normal TV guide. The restaurant could use a better menu, the shrimp cocktail was good but breakfast wasn't the best. The pool was very nice, two pools with a hot tub. The staff was great, friendly and attentive. Once you park, there is a golf cart the brings you to your room or elevator. Nice touch indeed. The full kitchen is very nice, the shower is awesome with lots of water pressure. All in all this is not a bad place to stay in but for the money you spent to stay here, you should get more.

Very disappointed in the condition of the rooms for what I paid. Rooms were very dirty, dingy and unclean. Expected a more up to date facility. When we arrived lady at front desk was extremely occupied, didn’t greet us or welcome us. Not so friendly or inviting for our first visit. Besides the first impression and condition of the rooms, nice place to stay and great amenities.

Nice pool and great views of the ocean. They offered a spa, restaurant, and bar so if you dont want to leave you dont have too!

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nites. Had an amazing time. Hotel was very clean and staff was very friendly. Parking is a little far from the hotel but they have golf carts running to bring you back and forth. Elevator is extremely slow and outdated with no AC (ventilation). One employee that stood out for us was the front desk MARIA! I have stayed at many different hotels but the service provided by Maria was beyond expectations. Great job Maria keep up the good work. Overall very nice place to stay at with amazing view.

The sheer size of the condos is impressive. I also liked the swim up bar. At night They play movies on the side of the building for kids so as adults you can sit in the pool in the kids are occupied it's very relaxing.

Very poor management. Almost imposible to reserve during summer time. Cost very high, doubled since we bought time share. We just canceled our time share with them (yes, we were able to return it! ) because of that and we are so happy not having to deal with them again. Even though I "invested" $22, 000 for 40 weeks, they didn't give one cent back and charge me $130 for cancelling the contract, but not worth it anyway to keep it. Don't buy a timeshare ever (worst deal). If you must do it go with serious companies like Marriott or Hyatt. Owners are in Mexico and they don't care about this resort, in my opinion. I think that employees are doing their best but seems that the owners are not aware or don't care about the issues. Place is beautiful, but there is no cleaning in the corridors, our dryer failed (they fixed it). Furniture is aged, missing door in cabinets, main door very difficult to open and close, electric outlet in balcony is burnt and generated sparks when I tried to plug something. Even though they advertise Wi-Fi don't ever dream to have access except at 3 am or so; they don't have enough network. They allow people to play loud speakers in the pool, no daily cleaning in the room or some areas of the building, even with cigarette butts on the floor for days, very difficult to change room or pool towels (you have to beg for them).

The hotel itself was really nice. The rooms were clean. {I inspected it as soon as we walked in}. There wasn't any hair, dirt, sand etc. On the floor, it was clean & fresh when we walked in. The AC in the hotel room worked really well which was great after spending a hot day by the beach. The pool area is awesome! We loved the pool, its a great size & very family friendly. There are showers out there for you to wash off with, which was great too. Especially when coming back from the beach. Now to the CONS: The hotel charged us an additional $5 for a "stained" towel. The "stain" was my makeup! Which does NOT stain. It was also a MINI towel! $5 is a ridiculous price for a small wash cloth. Anything to charge extra, though. SO BEWARE! The parking lot is a little far from the actual hotel. They do have golf carts that will take you back & forth, so that's nice. But do expect to walk some of the time bc the golf carts aren't always available. The elevators are extremely hot/humid. And they are super slow! You are better off taking the stairs. Overall, It was nice & we would stay here again. Its a great location & its nice that its beach front.

Over priced strict charges your credit card after you check out and say u ordered some bogus meal and drinks. Dirty rooms list goes on and on save your money worse resort/experience I've ever experienced!

I ordered the same club sandwich I ate yesterday because I loved it. The bread didn't taste good this time though, it was old but the waitress was really nice so I didn't want to complain. But I ate a piece and a half and I asked her if I could replace the bread. They brought me two pieces of toast, obviously I couldn't transfer the avocado, tomatoes etc that were stocked to the other toast and the bread tasted the same anyways. Didn't get a refund or discount because they'd said I ate some of it. Whatever Not coming back again! The chef must have been a really rude one!

FAMILIES BEWARE*** HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH THE MANAGER FELICIANO VILLARREAL ON 07-23-16 What follows is a very ugly encounter with the aforementioned manager IN FULL VIEW AND WITHIN HEARING OF ALL THE OTHER PATRONS! EMBARRASSED THE ENTIRE FAMILY! Three aunts, an uncle-in-law (UIL), two cousins, three nephews, a niece, my brother, a family friend, and my mother visited this hotel. My UIL, who knows the three brothers who are actual owners of the hotel, had an arrangement with one of them. We were allowed to park our cars on the premises and enjoy the pool services if need be. After having enjoyed the beach, we decided to hit the pools. All of our family was there having a great time for hours. We ordered drinks and took great pictures. At about 2100, Feliciano Villarreal came over and asked my UIL what room we were in. My UIL told him we didn't have a room — that prior arrangements had been made with the manager. Feliciano said that he was the manager and that it wasn't true what my UIL was saying. My UIL, referring to the owners as managers, stated that he knew the OWNERS of the hotel and that he did indeed have permission to be there with the entire family. Again, the manager stated it wasn't true and kept staring at my UIL. My UIL then said, "Ok. We're going to take off then". The manager then said he needed to charge us. My UIL asked him how much, and Feliciano said $25 per person. My UIL stated, "$25 per person!? Open up a tab, and I'll pay it".

It was pretty bad. I had several kids on this trip. There was no ice, no cable, and no Wi-Fi. Which were all supposed to be included. Since there was no cable they told me they would comp me if I were to rent Redbox movies, but there wasn't even a DVD player in the room to play them on, which was also supposed to be included. I was there for partially there for work which made it difficult to send emails. There was construction right down the hall, which started super early and was very noisy. Pretty dissapointing.

Very beautiful resort. Was attending a small wedding the view and swimming pools gorgeous. But the services at bar and restaurant was very bad. Slow took over an hour to get drinks and then another hour for our meals….

Not bad for the 100 we paid on Orbitz. Not worth the 200+ regular rate. Good location, average rooms, set up as extended suites with full appliances and dishes, terrible showers, no on site vending, very comfortable beds.

I went to Peninsula for an Inertia tours event. The infinity pool looked great and the bar made good drinks. They were consistently made and strong enough without being overpowering. The DJ was also very good.

We spent 4 days (mid-week) at Peninsula Island Spa and Resort and enjoyed ourselves. Our room had a lovely view of the ocean. Everyone was very friendly. Yes, they are adding more rooms but the construction noise and traffic was NOT a problem. The rooms and bathrooms do need updating, but they contained all of the essentials. The sheets were great and the beds comfortable. Water pressure was great in the showers. We would definitely return.

If your looking for a place that has smoke alarms going off at all hours of the night, rusty light fixtures, rusty dishwasher, broken and splitting boards on boardwalk to beach, caulking covered in black mold and missing tile in your master bath, missing tile throughout the pool area, the elevator was broken (causing my hadicap father to crawl up and down the stairs for 24hr to the 5th floor) and hasn't had a working hot tub in 10 days in the pool area. This place is for you! The hot tub issue has been a real hot button for us along with many other patrons who would have enjoyed it. They have 2 tubs but only heat 1 up… and it's been broke for 10 days. 5 days ago we even called the local pool repair place and asked them to fix. They said they could come the next day and have it fixed… we offered to pay for the fix so our family could enjoy the pool area. We relayed this information to the manager Jose to arrange it… he became upset with us and then assured us his maintenance guy would fix it. That was 5 days ago. We even asked if we could have a free meal or drink coupon for not being able to use the pool area due to no pool/hot tub above 70 degrees. The office lady told us she had to check with her manager and let us know. That was 4 days ago.

As of 11/ 2015 the hotel was undergoing a massive renovation. Half of one building is a concrete skeleton. We were in the other building, a three bedroom "deluxe" ocean view room. The view was great. The balcony was amazing. I don't know why they don't have a screen on the sliding door in case you want to let some fresh air in. Many things in this "deluxe" room were worn out, like the rusted dishwasher, the non — drying clothes dryer and the sandpaper like towels. There was a security chain on our door, just no where to attach it to. The window blinds leave about an inch on either side for spectators to look into your room. The parking and unloading zone was so absurd, it was comical. The staff were really nice and the pool and beach access were great. But an upscale Hilton, Westin or Four Seasons this place is not. Think closer to a fancy Best Western. Then ask yourself if a fancy Best Western in Texas is worth $1200 a week…

The 3 bedroom units are very spacious, we are a family of 6 and we really enjoyed our weekend. The pool is heated, so the small cool front that hit the island during our visit, did not stop our daughters of enjoy the pool. All the personal was very helpful and friendly. Front desk, bell boys, waiters, etc.

This hotel is a little gem surrounded by an amazing staff. We had a great time even though it was "red tide". They went out of their way to help and the service was great. Special thanks to "Sara" and "Princess" and the night girl. (Can't remember her name). Get the Presidential 3 bedroom-3 bath and enjoy. Great location for both the bay and the Gulf. Any issues were promptly fixed and a great time was had by all. Thank you again. I will now visit Trip advisors and give this place a thumbs up!

Don't stay here unless you wanna wake up too heavy construction every morning at 7 a. M. Was not greeted by any of the staff, no help with luggage, was not even asked "how was your stay, " when I checked out. Rooms are mediocre at best, would've been just as comfortable camping on the beach!

THIS PLACE SUCKS! Horrible rooms beds hand sand in them and were very uncomfortable the doors where broken rooms smelled like mildew fitness center equipment was broken picture on line are very deceitful and cause our family to argue and ruined our vacation PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ITS NOT WORTH IT.

Great location, awesome accommodations, fancy pool, very family friendly! Private access to the beach, close to causeway for easy access on and off the island. Only giving 4 stars because of some issues in the room. Sliding door won't shut easily and our room was missing blinds.

Dirty. The ONLY reason I gave it 2 stars was bc the beach access and the pool Otherwise it would of had one. Floors are slimy, sand in the beds, the stench was of mildew. Towles had streaks of I don't know what. Walls were dirty. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Unless you don't care where you lay or stay.

Not a bad place to stay at all nice beach access. Only bad thing it was under a remodel when I was staying here.

Great service for a very pleasant stay.

Terrible room service and staff. Stayed in suite with friends and family and room service/cleaning did not keep up with rooms. Was like pulling teeth for staff to get someone to service room. Parking was horrible, it was unclear where to park and once you figured it out it was a good 100 yard walk with luggage. There was a guy who could pick you up in his golf cart but he couldn't get everyone. Needs improvements. Felt like a cheap motel with a fancy sticker on the outside of product.

I almost booked this hotel, but thanks to all the poor reviews I was able to look into it more. No wonder it's a groupon deal. What a piece of garbage this place is. False advertisement in only showing picture of their nicest room through the groupon link but really all you get is some small crap room. I travel all the time for work and I get cheap hotels for much cheaper that are just as good.

Loud amplified music (live) by the pool all night until 10:30 pm spoiled my Saturday night and took away the tranquility of the beach. We had to leave the room and go to the beach to get away from the loud music. Room was nice but parking was inconvenient.

It's was a good time there, the Beach was clean and the food was nice.

Very disappointed, over rated! You had to park and walk a distance to the front desk where another customer had to direct us. Rooms were very small, couldn't check into 4 but the rooms were not ready until 430. No lights bulbs in the light fixutures, smoke detectors not working (wires disposed) We asked for two beds only one and a sofa sleeper small kitchen, we went to the groceries and get there and we have a motel refrigerator. Customer Service sucks! I had a ice chest that was stolen from the pool. Can't have drinks at pool unless its from the restaurant. Restaurant food was not good and there were four of us and the took a gratuity. It's not worth the money we spend for two days.

I stayed here for an entire week and had a marvelous experience. The service was fantastic. The hotel accommodations are simply amazing! The location is perfect! I highly recommend this hotel! It is a quality place.
