Awesome resort! Lovely staff the room was just as the photos. Pool area great and grill food superb. Loved the atmosphere and the option of not having to leave. My and my wife love the overall experience.

We were greeted by friendly staff, clean everything, and fun stuff to do. We got a massage, hung a the pool and lazy river, enjoyed "Polynesian Night, " and simply relaxed in room a little. Our only complaint was that we never got rom keys (we were so busy chatting, so that's all our faults), never got a 'guest pass' to enter events, but they were OK with letting us in with a name check, and our villa phones didn't work (which wasn't a huge deal) because of their recent upgrade to the system. Our room was quiet, and we had fun watching the turtles in the pond each day. I must pass on a 'shout-out' to Jacob (and Kim) who seemed to be everywhere, and so very helpful!

Beautiful resort! Our condo was very spacious and clean! It was up to date and super comfortable! Will definitely go back. The only down side is, when we arrived they told us we could have a complimentary breakfast because we were from out of the country… turns out, it was a time share presentation. That was supposed to be 1hours and a half… turned out to be 3 hours. There was a lot of pressure to purchase.

Love the location. It's centrally located between SurfSide and Myrtle Beach. The amenities are good. There's an indoor pool and an outdoor pool. The outdoor pool area has a lazy river. The room itself has a strange layout but it's not obnoxious. It's functional for the most part. There is a shuttle multiple times throughout the day that will take you to the beach and back. All and all I would recommend to others to stay here.

Great employees that are very helpful! The room included was washer, dryer, dishwasher, and mini fridge! They offer a shuttle to the beach which is very convenient and a pool and hot tub is on site. They also plan trips and activities for their guests to enjoy. This was a great trip! :)

Update: I am updating this review after the end of our stay. Although the rooms looked decent. One of our suites had roaches turn up in the bathroom and kitchen. The other suite we found bed bugs in the corner sheet of one of the beds. They did offer to relocate us but you have to call as soon as you see the bugs. Otherwise the pool and hot tub were excellent which is why Ill give it three stars. The rooms are decent looking. The suite we stayed in is 240 Presidential Dr. These look like old motel rooms that got renovated. The entrance is directly from the outside, which we weren't crazy about, but the fact that they looked nice inside made up for it. The beds were nice high big beds. This is not how all the models look but this is how our model looked. It's a huge place and some of the suites are newer so check before you come which suites you'll get.

There were bugs in the unit and the staff entering the room multiple times while we were there without permission… also locked us out seven times supposedly by accident where we could not get back into the room that we were paying for. They tried to charge my credit card 10 times for the same icecream. I spoke to them and they were supposedly investigating and basically called back and said they’re fine on their end that they can’t make up for the bad service and bad time that we had. Disgraceful enough but 7 days later the GM whom refused to call me the entire time I was there to address the issues finally returned my call and threatened to sue me for posting the videos of the interaction. Their method of dealing with people is to threaten instead of listening and addressing the issue. She spoke over me multiple times and made it very clear she only called to tell me how wrong I was for crying in their lobby instead of how wrong they were for locking me out and having the issues in the first place. They are on major cover up mode on this one. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Between the maintenance issues and bad staffing they took what could have been a great trip and turned it upside down.

This was an amazing experience. We did not have to drive anywhere since there was a shuttle to the beach. The room was comfortable and staff was extremely friendly. The amenities we're clean and we'll kept. A wonderful vacation!

Plantation Resort offers very nice accommodations. We stayed in a very comfortable one BR condo unit with washer and dryer. For those staying up to a week, having the comforts of home makes a big difference. The condo was quite spacious for a one BR. The kitchen was a bit small but adequate with a full size refrigerator and a dish washer. The BR had a small walk-in closet which was a nice amenity. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, and assorted kitchen ware. There was a pantry closet for storing food. The resort has a nice heated indoor pool which we used daily. The resort is not on the beach but offers frequent shuttles to the beach making it quite convenient.

Got this through a friend as a timeshare, so it was very cheap (had a paid full price my opinion might have differed). Room was on the first floor, 2 bed room/2 bathroom. Came fairly well appointed for a stay with dishes, soap for the dishwasher, laundry soap, etc. Room was very clean when we showed up. Maintenance service was very timely and friendly and fixed our one issue quickly. Only real downside is that it is about a 10-15 minute ride from Myrtle Beach proper.

Arrived late at night and they were very accommodating. Stayed at Plantation Resort Presidential Bldg. 241 Immaculate room for two adults one a 13 yr old. Right by the pools and gym. Everything looks brand new. I have a time share with WYNDHAM and have learned that they make their money from advertising and sales. So I immediately tell them I am not the least interested in the sales pitch and they don’t hassle me. All in all, great stay!

Beautiful, well managed property set back away from the crowds yet just off business 17. Lush, green streets with running water canals behind the units. Wild life abounds in the countryside atmosphere. Lots to do on site with multiple pools and spas. Units are modern and up to date with granite and stainless steel appliances. Decorated by professionals, you want to stay inside just to enjoy your surroundings.

We were at the Plantation Resort for a time share sales pitch. It was brutal. We finally walked after more than 2 hours because they would not take "no" for an answer. As part of the pitch, we were given a tour of a few of the resort's units. Our sales person's manager made a point of letting us know that this was not an original Wyndham (the time share's company) resort, and that the Wyndham property units at a different location in Myrtle Beach was far superior. The Plantation Resort units were actually very nice, but they are available for Wyndham tome share owners only.

This place has such great potential however whoever owns this place does not take good care of it and the outside just do not match the inside. My hotel room was terrible there was holes in the wall, there was carpet that was coming up from the floor, and things will just so outdated. The walls were dirty and could definitely use a coat of paint. There is really no insulation between the floors so unfortunately every time the person above me was walking or running it was as if the individuals was on top of my head which made it very difficult to sleep at night time. A vacation which was supposed to be a good and nice getaway turned out to be just a nightmare. I was only grateful that I was at least able to enjoy myself away from the area. Regardless, I ended up leaving two days earlier than I was supposed to because I just could not take the noise anymore. I definitely would not recommend this place for anyone that's looking to get away and just relax. However if you are able to perhaps get a room that's on a higher floor it might be your best bet if you have no choice but to stay there.

This resort is listed as top notch. In fact, I believe the rating on the RCI Website for timeshare owners is 4+, so I knew my accommodations would be top notch. Not so, when I checked into my hotel room, it had an odor, the carpet had a big stain in the middle of the floor, the room was very dusty, the bottom of the toilet corrosion was exposed, and the bed linen had not been changed. The only thing they had done, was turn the fan on in the room to try to alleviate the smell. The maintenance guys were very nice in fixing the toilet, they cleaned the carpet but the cleaning crew did not dust and clean very well. Not a first class experience!

This place is absolutely amazing! Such beautiful sites and such beautiful rooms. Very close to the beach. Alot of stuff nearby to do. They have it all from a spa to gym to shop. I would recommend this place to just about anyone. I'll definitely be going back soon. This was my very first trip to the ocean and yes it was so wonderful I wouldn't change anything about it. Hope y'all enjoy!

The resort itself is really nice, clean and accommodating. We stayed as a party of 6 with a total of three rooms in their bi-level apartment style villas. The washer and dryer were a plus and really made it easy to clean our things before leaving the resort. The fully equipped kitchen was great for us to celebrate the holiday with our family. We also enjoyed grilling out on the provided charcoal grills outside. However, GPS cannot locate the resort address. It directed us to an unoccupied building. The receptionist could not pinpoint where we were but was really nice and said call back if we still couldn't find it. Don't follow landmarks many corners of US-17 are similar and unhelpful. Ask for the address and street you're staying instead of entering the 1250 US 17 address, if you're driving.

The resort itself was nice and clean. When we asked to get our towels swapped out they never did. We ordered the thanksgiving dinner and the meal itself was loved by my family. It was supposed to be here between 12-1 and it ended up not getting here until 130. Would not buy again. Staff is fairly friendly though. Idk if I would stay here again.

Decent place however no elevator so second floor units mean lugging everything upstairs. No fun. We had a bottom unit. Sounded like a herd of elephants walking overhead all week. I’m not sure which is worse. Struggling to carry everything upstairs or the noise. Definite design flaw not having elevators. Very large property buried deep down a road off US17 so not easiest to find your unit without map. They need to have sharp knives in room, better coffee and mini salt & pepper shakers. Our unit had no extra trash bags so we had to request them. AC unit was dripping water and making sounds whole visit. But behind locked door. Unit worked but not optimally and I suspect mold growing based on all the dripping we hear. Toilet clogged up so we had to use plunger. Very large property so no signs of staff once you leave the front desk. Nice pools. Decent property but I’d probably try a different timeshare before returning to this one primarily due to poor acoustics.

Great trip, we may come back! We had never been to Surfside Beach before, and loved this location. The resort was very nice: we all enjoyed the pools and the kids enjoyed the playground. The room was well maintained and clean. Staff was always helpful. SC is a bit of a drive with 2 kids but it might be worth it to come back here.

Had a few bumps in the beginning of the stay but they made sure to make everything right. Greatly appreciate the effort Stacey put into making sure our stay is pleasurable. The room is nice and has a washer and dryer which was an unexpected awesome add-on to the stay. I would recommend it to others. If there's an issue, be sure to address it because they are willing to help in any way they can. Looking forward to a great week with my mom here. Thanks again to Stacey for her kindness and help.

Nice place, kid friendly. Had a 2bdrm suite which was fantastic for the family. Outdoor pools were great. Just wish the places were quieter. Last 2 nights the neighbors were going up and down the stairs constantly up until 1am which resulted in little sleep. We canned our final night of vacation to get home to sleep in quiet.

We received a Deluxe Hotel room. The room was smaller than expected but beautifully decorated and clean. We were surprised to find that there were only 3 pool towels and 3 bath towels available. Which for a family of four makes for some disagreements, but easily fixed. This is only day 2 of our week long vacation but all things aside, the staff is very friendly, room is comfortable and we are making memories. That's good enough for me!

Room was not clean floors had not been vacuum trash had not been taken out. Used soap was on master bedroom sink as well as paper. Bed's did not appear to have clean sheet's as a matter of fact covers on master beds was dirty just flipped over. Called Jennifer the GM who has a letter to welcome everyone there and it also says to call or email her with concerns. Well I did both and never heard back from her… Check in was delayed as well. Another lady finally came and cleaned the room. And she could not believe how it looked her self… Took picture's also there was a big blob of hair. Finally got call from someone saying that they would refund my house keeping money. Resort it self is very nice need to focus more on the cleaning of rooms for the money that is charged. And if a general manager is going to have her picture a letter to guess in welcome book. Should take time to respond to the guess.

My toddler's feet turned black within 30 minutes of our stay. My mother discovered the missing coffee pot carafe and stepped on glass shards on the floor the first night. TV and cable wires were open and exposed in the closet. The glassware was salty, the outlets were loose, and the oven smelled like burnt things. The TV was a weird mixture of cable providers and grainy pictures to boot. The Wi-Fi was deplorable, and when we called to complain, we were told of multiple blackouts despite the fact that neighboring businesses and resorts were not experiencing the same. I've stayed in many resorts through RCI, and by far this was the least tech savvy. We had fun in the area, but we avoided the resort at all costs.

Our room is clean and bright. Family member's room had an old moldy coffee filter in the coffee pot. Mattress is nice and firm, but too short for anyone taller than 5'6". Excellent water pressure in shower. Very nice staff.

We had a 1 room 1 bed, mini kitchen setup. It was exactly as described. I appreciated that there was absolutely ZERO mention of any kind to purchase a timeshare or any other packages. When we checked in, we were given our keys and pamphlets of local attractions and instructions that if we chose to purchase any trips, they were there to answer questions and assist. The entire atmosphere and experience was perfect for our needs. The accommodations were clean, Newly remodeled and very nicely done.

I stayed in a two bedroom suit. The room was clean and anything we needed they gave to us. The location was beautiful and I would stay their again.

My husband and I had a hard time finding the resort and when I tried to call on several occasions all I got was an answering machine. Two weeks later, and we're back at home and we still can't get anyone on the phone. Thank goodness we found a hotel with vacancies or we would have had to turn around and drive 3 hours back home.

Let me explain why I'm so frustrated with this place. My wife and I are headed to Myrtle Beach for the week and stop at the visitors center and a young man approaches us and ask where we are staying. After a while he explains how wonderful this timeshare resort is and how it's different than all the others. Now having said that he ask several questions including where are we staying. We told him we were staying at a house that one of our bosses owned for the week in Surf Side Beach. He goes on to tell us how wonderful this timeshare company is again on and on how they are different than others. Offers us several ticket choices of which we picked the choose one. This is scheduled for one morning of our vacation, 90 minutes no big deal and o by the way we are looking to buy a time share at the Sheraton so we thought this would be a good way to compare. So we arrive at our 9:00 appointment fill out all the paperwork only to wait 10 minutes to be called up to the to the desk to be told we can't do the tour because we are staying at a beach house for free. Because we are staying at the beach house for free we aren't going to buy anything and it cost them $400 per couple. Who the hell are they to tell me that just because I'm staying at a house for free that I won't buy a timeshare? What a rip off! I called the young man that signed us up and he was like well this is news to me I don't understand. These people need to be all on the same page and not waste peoples time on vacation.

I'm owner of a timeshare at this resort. I haven't stayed in years. My maintenance fee are ridiculously ly high and they continue to go up yearly. At this point I've been turned over to collections because I'm unable to pay the Hugh fees. Now interest added and the fees are through the roof! The fees didn't go up until we paid off the balance. When we call they are always booked, yet if you call without letting them know you're an owner. Then suddenly they have accommodations!

These lying liars had my family and I drive 1 1/2 hours round trip to view a unit. They charged us $20. And then when we got there they wouldn't see us due to the fact that my boyfriend and I don't carry proof on vacation that we live together (his license hasn't been updated in the last two years. ) I had told the gentleman that signed us up that our licenses were not matching. He called the facility and ok'ed it. So essentially I've just missed two hours of vacation time and a quarter of a tank of gas for nothing.

Lots of technical difficulties BUT the General Manager was quick to rectify our situation. Will go back next year and give it another shot.

I was just okay with the resort, the pictures that are posted online are definitly over rated! These are models for time share. When you book a room you will not get a nice room as shown on the website. customer serverice is terrible. And please don't try to contact front desk, no answer! Please do not waste your time or money. There were people even complaining about the time share they had bought into with the resort. BEWARE! My family and I made the best of a sad situation. I could continue to complain, but I wanted to let others know not to buy into the picture posted on Plantation Resort website. This resort is in need of a serious upgrade and you will not be pleased. The only thing I enjoyed was it being close to the beach!

5 minutes after bathing my son his feet turned black from the room carpet. Gross! The unit is FILTHY, drawers falling apart, outdated, and cramped worse than a shitty highway motel. Oh and staff was ABSOLUTELY NO HELP. Definitely leaving.

I will never stay here again if you like BED BUGS then be my guess enjoy I check in April 24, 2015 and my nightmare began and to date I have not heard from management and I have left several messages for them since checking out on 4/27/2015. The only thing they did was to change my room. So like I said if you like BD BUGS please stay. I have Warned you.

Very pleasant staff and clean, well stocked rooms. The bed was very comfortable and the grounds were quiet and well kept. My son LOVED the pools! We will definitely come back.

Overall a comfortable room. We stayed in the Presidential Villas. Be careful about booking over college spring break as there were a couple of loud students. We requested to change rooms in the middle of our stay due to very noisy college neighbors who stayed up until about 3am. The front desk had no problem relocating us. Indoor pool is great. Only real complaint is that the walls seem to be pretty thin as you can hear a lot of what what is going on in the adjacent rooms.

I recently booked a reservation @ Plantation Resort, 1250 US Hwy 17 North, Surfside Beach through my BB&T Rewards Program. The reservation was made on 6 Feb 2015 for a Valentine getaway for my wife and I. Our stay was for 1 Night check-in on 13 Feb/check out on 14 Feb. 2015. On my BB&T Rewards notification it showed 7, 337 points redeemed for this hotel reservation with a balance due of $0.00. However, when I checked out of the hotel (Plantation Resort) charged me a $38.00 cleaning fee. When I complained to management I was advised that the $38.00 cleaning fee was not included in the fee quoted when the reservation was made through BB&T Rewards/Expedia. The manager advised that Plantation Resort has asked Expedia to make sure they advise that there will be an additional cleaning fee of $38.00 when checking out. I was not advised of this at check-in only when I checked out and turned in the keys. Very poor practice! To add insult to a rather upsetting situation—the hotel asked that you remove/empty all the trash and take it out to an outside trash can and place clean trash bags in all the room’s trash cans. Place all dirty dishes in the dishwasher and start it before you depart the room. If I am helping them clean the room why the charge for cleaning? If I had known about the $38.00 cleaning fee upfront I would have booked another hotel. I inquired about the cash price of the room and was advised that the normal price was $111.00 and that the $38.

Plantation Resort is one of my absolute favorite places to vacation! Can't wait to go back to Surfside Beach, SC.

Oh boy what a waste of my day! We got sucked in by a promotion, so we paid $40 saying we'd get $160 back, a free weekend stay, and 4 tickets to an attraction here in Myrtle beach, just to sit through an hour and a half seminar, sure why not! So now that's it's 3 hours later I'm livid! I'm not just gonna just dog them, the resort was beautiful, and everything they were talking sounded great. 100 different countries $159 week stay. Yes I'm in! So then it's time to talk $, I'm suppose to pay $40, 000 a year, $800 for maintenance, plus the $159 for the week stay? And u need $2000 today! So after polity declining several times, they just wouldn't take no for an answer (which is what sales people do) but our Rep became extremely rude, said "well there's nothing more I can do", "why did u come here than" and got up from the table and just left, no thank u for sitting here for 3 hours, didn't want anything to do with us, left us at the pool conference center to take a shuttle back. My child was in the daycare center although I was told we'll be right back, after 2 hours, no contact with my kid or anyway to get a hold of him or vice versa if he needed me, just wait for this shuttle. We got back to him and to redeem our prizes. They didn't give the 4 tickets but I just wanted out out of there. Nor will I go back for my free stay. If you're going to sell a horrible deal u should probably have a little class and not make people feel worthless if they don't buy!

Man-o-Man. Where do I start? We bought a Time Share with plantation in NOV 2013 because we loved the place so much. We bought a house back at home and had a few bank problems, in the mean time plantation didn't receive their monthly payment. So they stopped drafting it altogether and started to HARASS me and my husband CONSTANTLY! They call my job, my cell, his cell his business ect. They called us at 8PM tonight and was EXTREMELY rude to my husband when he stated he would pay everything in full the next day because he was cooking for his family the woman, SALLY ext 1077 said that she really didn't care what he was doing that he needed to pay it NOW. She kept talking over him and kept saying she was putting in a refusal to pay when he plainly said he was paying in full next day!. Every single person that calls us is a foreign person and they are always RUDE. Moral: If you want to be HARASSED by a THIRD party FOREIGN company then buy a timeshare with plantation! I mean, we haven't even stayed there yet. Now, we are wondering about how to back out of this mess and buy one with Winggate instead.

We would never return to this small and cramped unit. These are wall-to-wall units and you can hear everyone yell, rattle dishes, and slam doors. We have stayed in MOTEL rooms bigger than the shockingly small accommodation for TWO! Air conditioning is far too close to the bed. Good thing we didn't stay in there to merely relax, and had a day to day agenda planned out over Labor Day. *** There are NO security lights going back to Bldg. 223. Makes it difficult for us to see where we are going, upon first entering at night. I cannot believe for the life of me that any poor sucker would get sweet-talked into purchasing a time-share at this particular site. The only thing I can speak positive about is cleanliness. Plenty of towels as you need them, and close to the ocean. After one full week, I can say I was glad to get back home to Ohio! Again-I would never recommend this place to couples.
