Absolutely awful. Dead batteries in remote. Stained sheets and comforters. Holes too. Light bulb out in bathroom. Stains on doors and walls. Refrigerator barely cold. Staff must not dust either! Get a better room! This place is awful!

I'm going to give the hotel the amount of stars its rated as in a hotel. Trash was everywhere on the grounds. Cops were around quite frequently parked in the Tokyo Buffett next door. That's either a good spot to respond to local calls or a place where people are potentially human trafficked? The price is good, however my dust cover had a cigarette burn in it. Good that there's non-carpet floors. A/C worked good. Little to no pressure from the shower. The front desk personnel were helpful, but really slow at checkout. I told them to forget the receipt as I was waiting past 10 mins to check out. Needless to say this will be my last time staying at a Red Roof Inn.

Only because their is no zero. Probably the worst Place I ever stayed. Please, please heed the warning. Avoid like the plaque. Roaches crawling on walls and ceiling. Tried to call desk clerk, phone had no cord. Desk clerk would not get her feet off desk while talking to her. Man came in claiming refrigerator broke. She said "what do I look like, the maintenance man. " Dead bolt broken, had to pile luggage in front of door.

Kinda janky, not in the best area, got a great deal (so I thought) online for a room, then showed up and found out why. Seemed clean enough, over sink light took 6 years and multiple switch flicks to turn on, bed was ok, bathroom was tiny, just kind of a shabby room… have stayed at RRI before and it was a lot nicer than this location.

Stayed in a room last night that had mold covering the bathroom ceiling and had mold all over the shower curtain and when I called the front desk the lady said to come to the office at 8am to have the room compensated. When we went to speak with them the manager said we weren’t getting anything compensated because we didn’t move rooms at 12/1 am in the morning. Will not be coming back here that’s for sure. Also doesn’t help that most of the rooms have no mini fridge or microwave.

Night clerk is locked in so you check in via a window through which you can only slide your ID and credit card. Indicator of unsafe neighborhood. The first room she gave us (room 104) smelled like an ashtray and was a nonsmoking room. The next room we got had no lightbulbs in the nightstands. Clerk was awesome. She was very helpful. She took bulbs out of another room to give us. The lamps and coffee maker were all unplugged. The room smelled stuffy although not like smoke… my bf says that is debatable. We were just too tired on the road to go look for another hotel. The sheets and comforter were clean but had cigarette burns. The pillows are thick and hard. Horrible. The room was clean but a bit dusty like it had not been used in a long time. Ample parking and coffee in the room were a plus. We were traveling with our little dog so Red Roof Inns are great for that reason and we have stayed at others that I rated 5 stars. I would probably not stay here again.

Reasonably priced rooms with nice amenities for the money. Tokyo Buffet is a few steps across the parking lot too. Very pet friendly here too. Many places to eat on adjoining St. Andrews Rd too.

The worst ever I had to change my room 4 times problems after problems to make it worst I got bit in the face by a bed bug had to go to the doctor and get a shot because I'm allergic to bug bites that Nasty motel shouldn't even be still in business. Manager she have a nasty a** attitude I will like to thank her for all she didn't do too make me comfortable for those over price rooms shame on you…

This place is so run down. This is definitely the last time I stay here. Don't get me wrong Red Roof is normally pretty good but this one here is the worst by far. You're better off staying at the motel 6 across the street!

Every thing was good. Room was clean. Not he Ritz but a good economic place to sleep. The amenities are what you would expect for what you pay. Until I went to take a bath. When I got out of the bath the room was flooded with 2 inches of water. My wife called the front desk the lady at the front desk said what do you want me to do about it. My maintenance man doesn't come till 10. I called back and told her we needed a new room she came and examined the room and blamed me. She said you should not have filled it over the silver drain. This is your fault. Well that's not how Plumbing works the water overflow is supposed to go down the drain not to the floor like it didl. Anyone who has ever taken a bath knows that when the water reaches the Overflow it drains down the drain preventing the bathtub from overflowing on the floor. I am very aggravated that she decided she wanted to blame me for a plumbing mishap. I will get this straightened out and I will contact corporate. If the bathtub was installed properly this would have never happened. And the one thing you never want to do is blame a guest. My rating went from 4 stars down to one star. Thank you for ruining my experience with the Red Roof Inn I will never return to any Red Roof Inn ever because of this. Don't blame your guests when it's your fault for not hiring inadequate plumbers.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed at! Check in is at 3, did not get in my room till 5 because it wasn't cleaned yet! Some kid was peeing outside my room in the parking lot. My non-smoking room reeked of smoke but they would not move me to another room. The fridge and desk I was supposed to have in my room did not exist and I lost all the groceries I just bought. The front desk tells me they don't include either in their standard rooms but there is a picture of it on their counter top saying standard room. The manager is NOT on site and the staff is rude.

The worse hotel experiences ever are to be had at Red Roof Inn @10 Berry Hill Rd Columbia SC. The current Management nor the house keeping staff speak very good English at all for starters not to mention the nasty attitude and illegal practices and price gouging of management are under acceptable. None of the cameras on site work my vehicle was recked one evening while we slept only to find out 1 week later when the owner finally showed up the cameras are just for show. Once you make it to your room you'll realize after a day or 2 how much mold and mildew accumulated on the rest room ceiling which is a health issue. The water pressure sucks if you try to shower between the hours of 10am and 5 pm you might as well hang it up. The house keeping only changes the sheets while the blankets are left on beds from guests before you no matter if they had pets in the room or sex on the beds. I wouldn't recommend anyone who loves their self or good health stay at this location. When you complain about your experiences to the clearly racist Indian management they threatened to call the police. Red Roof Inn @10 Berry Hill Rd Columbia SC sucks I could go on n on about the terrible service here I hope the News stations and DHEC get involved soon and shut this slum down.

This was a nightmare! The room smelled like cigarettes and cigarettes burns on the comforter. The neighbors stayed up all night, congregating outside our window. Found beer cans and syringe outside in the morning. Heat did work well, we were hot and cold all night. We called the front desk, who said they called the neighbors, but they kept on partying. At least 12 people in the room next door. The only way we felt safe was I had my gun. I'll never stay here again, and if you are smart, you want either.

I stayed for almost 3 weeks. Manager that runs the hotel is very disrespectful… He doesn't know how to talk to anyone civil and if you have any type of disagreement he threatens to call the police… As a matter of fact he called the police on my friend yesterday and surprisingly it was a decent officer and the officer stated he wasn't there to give them any problems that this guy always calls for nonsense but he still had to ask them to leave… Anyways I do not recommend… also I had a discount I got on line and he wouldn't honor it because he said I can rent room for 73.00 why would I give it to you for 56.00

The price was good for us just needing a quick unplanned stop from a road trip. BUT it's no Marriott. The bedding had actual holes in them. Not just the every day wear but Burt holes. The floors had all kinds of trash and lent as if the room had not been vacuumed in a long time. The tub was stained a d had hair in it BEFORE we attempted to shower. Needless to say we won t be cutting corners next road trip. It's worth paying the extra money for a Marriott or Hilton.

I see a lot of effort in improving the safety. And big renewal actions has been taken place. Thanks for caring… keep up the good work.

THEY HAVE BED BUGS! That wasn't even the worse part. The Manager, IRENE, is a BI**H! She is rude and very unprofessional. Def not fit to manage anyone, especially not a hotel where you have to deal with people!. Wanted to knock her head smooth off! I'll see her again tho, outside of work! DO NOT STAY THERE! PERIOD.

We booked this room for a quick one night stop while my husband and his father were attending his son's birthday. They waited in line behind other travelers. The employee (or whoever was at the desk) informed them that they had an employee quit. They appeared to be counting a drawer. They said no one was going to be able to check them in, sorry. The travelers in front of my husband had their reservations cancelled. My husband also had his reservation cancelled. Extremely poor customer service all the way around even by cheap hotel standards. They just lost a couple hundred dollars because whoever was at the desk didn't feel like checking in travelers.

Ok first off, yes this is a red roof inn. So don't expect much, the night lady at the front desk is very rude! This hotel is for men that work out of town, definitely not a place for the family. Yes the rooms are completely remodeled, bed is good. So I guess for 50 bucks, and if you'd staying a night it works for the money.

Wi-Fi sucks. Weird smell when we first got in here. Other than that pretty good. The bed is comfy.

Good enough to spend the night and relax. Low water pressure and it took a while to get hot water in the shower. Not bad at all overall.

It was a good place to stay overnight. With animals. We were running from hurricane Irma and they were pleasant and helpful.

Unfortunately the only good thing I can say about this hotel is good water pressure, but while in shower water kept getting COLD. Bathroom moldy, tub looked like had not been cleaned EVER, and floor flooded. Beds uncomfortable king bed 4 small flat pillows, 1 sitting chair DIRTY. Whole room just dirty old smelled of mold. In a nut shell look else where! Oh… nice TV.

I stayed here when I came to South Carolina to see the eclipse. I chose to stay here because it was reasonably priced for that day when all the hotels were charging a lot. The staff were professional and friendly. My rating is so low because the room specifically the bathroom was dirty. The sheets were clean but I wore flip flops in the shower. The room also smelled strongly of cigarette smoke even though it was a non smoking room. There is also a lot noise a night from the interstate traffic which our room faced.

We chose this place our of necessity because everything else was booked for the solar eclipse. It's okay for a few nights stay. There are lots of TV channels and the beds are comfortable. The hotel front desk person was nice. Unfortunately, the room smelled of Indian curry when we came in. It only got worse when we turned on the air conditioning. The hotel management is also very stingy with toiletries and other supplies. They only gave two small hard soaps and a packet of shampoo which lasted only one shower. They didn't replace towels on the floor, only picked them up and hung them on the rack. The bed cover had cigarette burns and a few small stains.

Hotel is in a very bad location, the people around it are very sketchy and the rooms were awful, the only gpod thing about this hotel is that it is ij south carolina. I would never stay at this hotel again even of it was free.

Do not stay here. Roach in room. Doesn't cool. Bathroom barely functional. Latch lock broken. Bad area.

Great room for the price! I didn't see no bugs in my room… nowhere but outside! Shower got very hot! Tv worked fine, I wish more channels though. Staff was nice and friendly! I stayed during the week thou so excuse me if someone had a worst experience on a weekend. I'm traveling from out of town and judging by all the other reviews I'm at the most decent place for the price. Stores all around plenty to eat within walking distance and right off the highway, it was a very easy place to find. My room looked like the picture.

The staff was very friendly. The room however was filthy there were burns all over the bed even though it was in a no smoking room. The bathtub was all cracked and there were roaches running around! Definitely needs to be bug bombed and deep cleaned, a remodel wouldn't hurt either. The only good thing was that the staff was friendly.

Stayed one night here and can't wait to get out soon as my two year old wakes up were gone bugs EVERYWHERE bed sheets weren't cleaned floor peeling up in the bathroom not to mention the bugs that join you in the shower I will never stay here again! Red Roof seriously needs to do better this is completely disgusting.

Me and my Family have been here for 3 weeks. The lowest rating I can put is a one starr but if I could I would put negative to the 26th power! From the bugs, to the housekeepers not cleaning our room, then them lieing about it all, and many of the housekeepers cant speak any English, but they know enough English to tell you that they are not assigned to clean our room. Since we have been here for three weeks we have smelled other people in the hotel smoking pot, having wild parties and questionable gatherings, and fighting. The Red Roof Inn on Berryhill Rd It is not worth your money. Our room has been uncleaned for so many days now. Everytime we call down to the office they say that they have spoken to the housekeepers about it but that is a lie because they never come. My daughter has had to take items off of an abandoned or unattended cart because we needed them. Things like that shouldn't be happening. We are tired of the lies and the terrible service. We pay over 365 a week to stay here and we can't even get our room cleaned for one day throughout that week when we request the service. The only reason we chose this hotel because was because there's not a pet fee and they accept dogs, but my goodness it is not worth your time! DONT BRING YOUR DOGS, DONT BRING YOUR KIDS, DONT EVEN BRING YOUR GRANDMA HERE! Period.

The rooms are very nice but the maid service was terrible she barely made our bed didn't take out her trash just to our towels on the bed there was barely any hot water it wasn't even hot enough it was lukewarm you could couldn't hardly take a shower without freezing to death and the internet sucks.

Stan is the man! Great customer service great rooms and great value! Can't beat it at all especially for what you get across the street.

Terrible location. Very scary. Had to change rooms because there were bugs in the bathroom and smoke detector kept beeping. Hookers were said by a local to frequent it. And we were told not to carry food into the room. Trash on the floor of the new room and a roach. Will never stay there again.

Visited the red roof located in west columbia. Immediately cancelled and left. Room was cold and uninviting. Bed spread was stained and surroynding area was dilapidated. Rooms are also non refundable, but management worked with me since I spent literally no time in the room. Price was way too much for the type of room. I do not recommend for anyone who is squeemish or expects quality.

Horrible customer service. My family arrived late at night from out of town, walked in to our room and there were cockroaches everywhere. Representative didn't seem to surprised, told us it would take 7-10 days to refund my card and after 45 minutes on the phone with a lady we still didn't get any sort of resolution, went to a much nice hotel down the road a little ways and was treated exceptionally well.

Neva stay here every tyme I come here today is my last day u really have to leave ur luggage In ur car there are really bad roaches I have live with a with a 1 or 2 before in my lifetime but this is ridiculous I've dealt with it because I travel on the road to save money but I shouldn't have to leave all my luggage in my vehicle because of roaches all over the place.

Had a two night stay, one bed was made, one was not when they cleaned the first day, also got one towel, yes just one. It was a cheap price though, so can't expect to much. Got in about 9 pm and couldn't enter lobby, had to go to a window on the side. Made me wonder about security.

The room smelled horrible. The Wi-Fi did not work for the first 3 days. They put some powder stuff on the floor and rather thsn mopping and vacuuming it up left it. The microwave didnt have the spin plate and is rusted and stinks when using it. First night jere had a cockroach drop from the cieling onto the bed and had a beetle crawl out of my shoe 2 days later. If I could give this olace no stars I would. Do not stay here. MOTEL 6 across street be better.

There is serious mold or mildew damage in that hotel. I paid for a room on the lower level and couldn't get past the mildew smell reeking from the door way, let alone the whole room smelling that way. So I asked for another room (no questions were asked), and of course that room smelled strong of the mildew as well. I would not stay in this particular hotel at all. They seriously need to fix that problem. And they didn't have carpet they had vinyl floors so I do not know where it's coming from. And the first room I went to, the comforter had cigarette burn holes all in it and some greasy looking stains. Horrible — horrible rooms!

I stayed at this location on a recent visit to Columbia. I attempted to contact the owner prior to making this post in hopes to resolve a matter in a private forum. To date I have not received any acknowledgement of my messages. Hopefully, this will get the attention of future guests. My room was infested with roaches and insects. Within the first hour of the stay I killed several personally. I notified the front desk of the situation and they eventually sent someone to spray the room. He witnessed the bugs I killed earlier. After he sprayed, others remained. I attempted to find another hotel in the area, but to no avail as there was a large event being held in the city. Needless to say, I will never stay here again. If you decide to do so, make sure you inspect your room and belongings thoroughly.

If you're handicapped, go somewhere else. There is a tub with handrails, but we were informed that no shower chairs are provided. Also, no hand held shower head, just a regular wall mounted one. Another thing, the room rate posted outside was $44, but we were charged $65. Otherwise, the room was nice enough, but I don't recommend it if you need a handicapped room.

Rate this place. Omg. This place is awful! I would not dare to let my cat nor my dog stay at this hotel. The customer service was awful. The receptionist was ghetto and on top of that I had roaches crawling in the bathroom. My son and I had to leave at 2:00 a. M. In the morning. Oh, and there were big roaches crawling around the outside of the hotel. This hotel is for someone cheating and doing a one nightstand with a hooker or something. This is awful and I can go on and on but I promise I got my money back! ***I give this hotel no star but had to put one so it could publish. Smh***.

Paid for a double room with refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. Got to the room after checking in. There was no coffee maker, refrigerator didn't close properly (housekeeping had to come fix it). We also only had 2 pillows (needed 2 more), no garbage can and no ice pail. Didn't know that the room key had to be reactivated each day. Found a cigarette bud under the chair (it was a no-smoking room), and 3 baby roaches in the bathroom. Also, bottom of feet turned black when walking around barefooted in the room. Won't stay at this location next time we're in Columbia.

Definitely not one of the better Red Roofs I've stayed in, tl;dr. Sheets had holes in them from wear/tear and I think from cigarettes. Towels smelled stale, my ac unit kinda worked, and the TV was definitely outdated. Took the front desk a good 20 minutes to check me in because I was paying with CLC. The shower had an odd layout with the drain in the middle at the side. I also had light switches that had to be jiggled to work and the drain stopper in my sink didn't work.

Standard rooms no longer include a chair. You have to either stand up or lay on the bed. This makes the hotel unsuitable on a multi-day stay. I can't lay down all the time. Isn't a chair supposed to be standard equipment? The room key deactivates every day. Front desk says there's no way around it. After working a shift, I get back, need to refresh the key, and there is either a line at the desk or no one there. I've waited many times without access to my room because the desk person was gone. This place operates for its own convenience, not yours. I used this location for business travel for years. Now it's too much trouble.

Horrible place to stay! The place is full of people who live in the hotel and they are not the greatest! Third shift staff looked like thugs and that included the security guard. The 3rd shift were quite rude as well. We found panties lying on the ground that were not there when we checked in. We were told by a local gas station not to leave our belongings in the room if we were not there as there have been many robberies. We were also informed that this hotel was well known for drugs and prostitutes. Not a safe place.

My husband and I have just checked in and are both very well satisfied with the condition of the room! Our room is totally renovated and beautiful! Very clean and very spacious. Kimberly, the front desk clerk, was very hospitable, pleasant and friendly. We would recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay in this area.

This is by far one of the worst hotels to stay at. The management and staff except for one lady are just unprofessional. I was kicked out of my room because I refuse to allow the housekeeper to enter the room while I was undressed. I was not given a refund. The manager was putting her hands all in my face and beating on my windows. The rooms are filthy even after they are supposedly cleaned by housekeeping. I was never given any bottle water for being a RediCard holder. I was not allowed to fax any documents. I wasn't even given a receipt. The mirrors was super dirty. The bathtubs have no stoppers. The channel line up is terrible. The covers have bubble gum on them and burnt marks. The bathrooms are dirty with towels placed on the back of the toilet how disgusting. The room are stank. The authorities were called on me because the manager wanted me to go to jail. I will be posting pictures I was able to take and a video of manager beating on car window. I would not stay at this hotel if they gave me a free week. Even guest relations is rude and no one called me back about the manner they just left it up to management and owner. This hotel is filth box.

Its a DUMP! Dead bugs everywhere, twice as many as many alive ones running around in the rooms. Rude lady at front desk *HOW SUPRISING*. The room had what looked like splattered mustard all over the walls, door, and lights. The rooms smell. The walls are thin as paper so you can hear everything outside. The AC unit was older than the Titanic and had a bunch of cigarette ash in it. Comforter has cigarette burns. The list goes on and on. Not worth the price. Do not stay here. The owner has no pride or respect for his/her customers.

HORRIBLE I called and booked 2 rooms for a couple of our employees driving in from out of State. I explained our company would be paying via credit card. The booking agent was kind, provided me with a confirmation number and assured me that all was set. However, when our employees arrived the front desk refused to look up the confirmation number, refused to call our company and insisted our employees pay cash or leave. We tried calling the front desk to figure out what was going on and hopefully resolve everything but they refused to answer the phone. Now my team is left trying to find lodging elsewhere.

The rooms are all newly renovated (2014) with hardwood laminate floors, flat panel TVs, granite sinks, new furnishings and bedding, new lighting, all very nice. This is not a new hotel by any means, it is older with freshly renovated rooms. So if you are accustommed to staying in newer, mid grade or luxury accommodations, you may want to consider paying a good bit more and booking elsewhere. There are no ammenities such as an included breakfast or a pool. What they do offer in addition to the clean, comfortable, updated rooms is free Wifi and fresh coffee in the lobby most hours and a vending machine area. In addition, this hotel is dog friendly — allowing one well behaved, dog per stay. Red Roof Inn's Redi Card rewards program is great too for those who use Red Roof Inns often, as you can accrue points toward free stays. I have compared other budget hotels in the area, and I would have to say, with the newly renovated rooms, this is about the best you will find anywhere close by in the Columbia area for this price. This hotel is about 7 miles from downtown Columbia, but only 3 miles from great shopping and dining in the Harbison/Columbiana Mall area. I stay here when I work in Columbia or travel through, because it is clean and comfortable, my dog can stay with me free, and the staff is great. Mrs. Thakkar, the owner/manager is very nice and professional.

This place is a nightmare! Our RESERVED room wz not ready. Bed was not tucked tight, No pillow cases, roaches, floor not vacumed, trash behind the sink on the counter. No towels or wash rags. Only had 2 hand towels. Toilet was clogged. Said they were gonna give us another room. Insted sent a non speaking english man to plunge it. We were told were were being transferred to another room. Waited. Ended up wanting a refund after 2 hour of B. S. They only refunded me 1/2 the stay. Ran by a bunch of non-english speaking Dot Heads. Oh and the 4 big bags of trash right in front of our door was just as pleasant as the stay. PLEASE PPL GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I ingnored the ratings because I was exhausted driving from Fla. They are all true.
