Loved the room! Loved the "barn style" doors for the bathroom and shower. Was so excited to see flooring and NOT carpeting (except for the small area around the beds) and the staff was very friendly.

The room was so clean and nice. The staff was great to deal with. We slept like babies! I will definitely go back if in the area again.

Rooms were large and spacious and housekeeping was nice. Rooms were cleaned daily and it was a well done job. Bed was large and comfortable although the bathroom door could not be locked.

One of the nicest hotels I've stayed at for the price. Clean and we'll maintained. Will stay there next time I am in the area for business.

We got to the hotel around 6 p. M. Put our stuff in the room and left to get dinner. On our way out we asked if we could have a late check out. They said no but to ask the staff in the morning (Sunday). That night all we heard were people outside yelling. Finally went to sleep and was woken up by the staff at 5:30 a. M. Our room was right over the lobby. It was very loud. We excused all of that but then I realized there was hair in the bed (definitely not ours), hair stuck to the shower walls, on the bathroom counter, and in one of the towels that I was about to use. I went down to the front desk and showed her the pictures of hair. She said "oh well that doesn't look like pubic hair. One of our house keepers has curly hair. I'll let my manager know" I said that's it?!?! She said "well our house keepers don't get her until 930. " I said so no one can clean our room or get us fresh towels?! She said no. So I asked for the hotels email address. She gave me what looked like her personal email. After that my husband went back to the front desk and asked if we could have a later check out time because it was 9 a. M. And we didn't have to be where we needed to be until 5 p. M. She told him no. Customer service sucks and someone needs to check behind the housekeepers. Worst stay ever!

Nice hotel with clean rooms. The hotel is in a great location a lot of place to choose from near here. The lobby was neat and clean. Rooms are nice and clean also. Nice breakfast to wake up to in the morning.

I haven't stayed in a Holiday Inn in quite some time. This hotel was very very nice and I will always stay whenever possible.

I did not like the wood floors, the lighting in the bathroom was not good. We went down for breakfast and it was done. It was 9:00 in the morning. We won't be back.

Excellent breakfast! Beautiful room decor, very clean and very modern room furnishings. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.

The room was cool, but the walls were super thin. Heard people in the halls and other rooms all night. The location is good, a lot of places to eat close by. The people were nice and attentive to my needs. The room was large and very comfortable.

Newest, cleanest, and best deal of the area. Plenty of USB ports are available for use, all the outlets in the right places. Free-hot 'Express Start' breakfast for all guests. Respectful and courteous crew with southern charm! The Palm-trees around property add a very classy Carolina touch!

I came to this hotel for a military conference on Ft Jackson. Patrick went above and beyond while being extremely courteous to ensure my stay was pleasant. I will recommend this hotel to all my colleagues who make frequent trips to Ft Jackson in the future.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Good stop over after a long day of driving.

We've stayed in 11 Holiday Inn express properties this year and this one doesnt get the best rating. It"s nice looking contemporary, clean, and new, but the sofa was so hard it was unusable, the bed is too high off the floor for most people, the modern window blind system didnt work so well, lovely glass shower door did not operate properly. Has a Texas Roadhouse next door (good). While we'll stay again at a Holiday Inn Express, it probably wont be this one.

Its the old Wyndam Wingate which have gone through a major renovation and it looks good. The Eating area is modern. The room I stayed in was really nice with modern updates.

It would be nice if Holiday Inn Express posted on this website that you are closed at the moment. I know this was a Wyndham before and truly wish it still was and it is also going through some renovations. But it seem to indicate it was still open for business. After calling the number I was informed they don't know anything. They don't have the information whether it is open or not. Just out of a courtesy, you should post closed till a specific date or not closed. Common Sense…

The staff was nice. There were stains on the carpets in the hall and room. The hallway smelled like urine and there was what looked like a pubic hair on the toilet paper in the room. When leaving the next am the cleaning staff was sitting in the lobby. Was very disappointed with this Wingate. I expected much more.

Amazing staff and awesome rooms.

Cozy room. Nice location. Beds comfortable. Breakfast was ok.

Lamp was broke, bed cover was torn all over it, coffee maker didn't work I had to go down stairs to get a new one, and was told to bring the new one down from the fourth floor so I was making trips up and down. When I called the next day and asked to talk to the manager I was hung up on. I'd say the rooms are worth about fifty dollars a night. Nothing special honestly, I stay at days inns and they have the same quality rooms for forty to fifty dollars cheaper. Go ahead and pay a hundred dollars if you want but your getting ripped off. This place obviously needs a new manager.

Everything was good. The service was excellent. The free breakfast was surprisingly good and had lots of choices. The only negatives were the pool is smaller than the photos make it look and ask for a room on the side away from 2 Notch Street since there's a train nearby this main street which may distrurb you. My wife said she woke up several times during the night because of the train.

Warning sit families — please do not take an option to rent a room with this establishment with no cancellation. Please absolutely forgo this option. After reading some of the other reviews, maybe make another choice all together! My most recent experience (3/10/16) — was reserved through Priceline. My SIT received ORDERS that made it necessary for me to check out a day early (3/10 instead of 3/11). I did not CANCEL any part of the reservation, instead, I CHECKED OUT EARLY to make sure that my SIT was compliant with his Orders. You will not be told that while you are allowed to check out early, you will not receive a refund or reimbursement for the unused portion of your reservation. Because I am told that this is clearly stated skipped this mention in the cancellation agreement and in spite of US Military Orders, I take this opportunity to share this information with you, other families who may find yourselves in situations where reporting obligations for your SIT may be different from that initially communicated. In other words, PLEASE do not be burned as I was. I give the hotel a rating of 2 stars — due to the establishment's unwillingness to offer even a portion of an unused day in service to Military Families whom I am sure frequent the hotel as graduations occur weekly. The staff was mostly nice. Jodi, the manager, was very often not available when Priceline called for assistance on my behalf.

They CHARGED $50 incidental fee. Not a pre-authorized hold, a FEE. Which they say is at the discretion of the bank but that's a lie. Front desk person insisted it was just a hold but never stated the $50 would actually be charged. The heater in our room did not work. A/C worked but heat only blows air. It was 30 degrees outside last night so heat would have been nice! Never stay here! Plenty of other options around!

Not worth the price charged. The rooms are run down and damaged. The linens are yellowed and the towels feel like sandpaper. When we checked in my 3 year old started crying and asked to go home. We checked out the next day and went to the Holiday Inn down the street, which is way cleaner, more modern, the linens and blankets are nice, good towels, and the breakfast is better for the same price charged at Wingate. I'd only stay here if it was absolutely necessary. They also charged me for the room before I arrived, then charged my card for the entire stay plus a $50 deposit as soon as I checked in.

People were nice but we had a room with 7 people and they only have us 2extra towels and face rags.

Bed bugs do not stay at this hotel! Where should I begin. I stay at windgates all over the country and this is by far the worst. For some reason they charge you a $75.00 incindental fee when you check in. It took a month for me to get the $75.00 returned the manager Jodi (who should be working at the circus or as an attorney because She is a liar) made every excuse in the world until finally I threatened to call the attorney general. I walked into the room and there was a whole the size of 3 large pillows in the carpet it was disgusting. They said they had no other rooms but we got on the Internet and found rooms available and then we had my sister in law call to reserve a room and the person at the front desk said they had plenty of rooms open. last but not least my wife and I got into bed and she immediately got bit on her ankle. After a few minutes later she got bit again after that I new something was wrong and I began taking off the sheets to find the mattress covered in bed bugs. Upon calling the desk and the person began to reiterate they had no empty rooms, which we new was a lie. We immediately left the hotel (went to the holiday inn express across the street) upon calling the manager Jodi 4 times before she finally answered she went on to belittle me and told me that they did not have bed bugs and that if there were bugs in the room they weren't bed bugs.

I don't think I have ever written a negative review in my 40 years of life. But this hotel deserves it. Aside from the multiple problems it had under previous management. I stayed last week only to find am extra $50 charge to my credit card. When I called to find out what it was. They said I got make-up on a towel that didn't come out. First of all, I travel about 5-6 weeks a year total staying at properties all over the world. I have never been charged for "damage to a room" even though I have used all their towels to remove my make-up. My $3 generic detergent takes out make-up without issue. Finally, $50 seems a bit excessive for one towel, which is all I used. During my stay, the phone didn't work — I had to keep going downstairs when I needed something. The internet didn't work half the time — making it difficult to get work done. And then to have a $50 charge that topped it off. Evidently they are moving to become IHG, so be aware if they change names. The manager assured me that under new management this is how they are going to run. So if you would like to avoid extra charges for alleged damage avoid this hotel.

Room was fine. Coffee Maker Broken. Very very rude staff!

First off, I have NEVER heard of an incidental fee of $75 upon check-in, even though we had already prepaid! I wonder how long it will take for the hold to come off my card! Then, the toilets don't flush properly. While eating breakfast, I suppose the employees don't have time to take care of themselves, because some had a terrible body odor. Breakfast was terrible! To think we cancelled reservations at the Holiday Inn Express, thinking all our prior stays at Wyndam resorts were perfect… so NOT the case here!

Ruined my valentine's… 1st issue was the marijuana smell that met me as I walked off the elevator in a non-smoking hotel; then my TV did not work — maintenance refused to come fix it — clerk stated that my rate would be discounted by manager when I checked out — manager never showed up — worst customer service in my life — will never stay here again!
