Review of Holiday Inn Express Columbia 2*

Warning sit families — please do not take an option to rent a room with this establishment with no cancellation. Please absolutely forgo this option. After reading some of the other reviews, maybe make another choice all together! My most recent experience (3/10/16) — was reserved through Priceline. My SIT received ORDERS that made it necessary for me to check out a day early (3/10 instead of 3/11). I did not CANCEL any part of the reservation, instead, I CHECKED OUT EARLY to make sure that my SIT was compliant with his Orders. You will not be told that while you are allowed to check out early, you will not receive a refund or reimbursement for the unused portion of your reservation. Because I am told that this is clearly stated skipped this mention in the cancellation agreement and in spite of US Military Orders, I take this opportunity to share this information with you, other families who may find yourselves in situations where reporting obligations for your SIT may be different from that initially communicated. In other words, PLEASE do not be burned as I was. I give the hotel a rating of 2 stars — due to the establishment's unwillingness to offer even a portion of an unused day in service to Military Families whom I am sure frequent the hotel as graduations occur weekly. The staff was mostly nice. Jodi, the manager, was very often not available when Priceline called for assistance on my behalf. On my last call of today, she (Jodi) informed the Pricleine agent (Jean) that the hotel's owner would not approved the refund. Please beware. Thank you.
