Great location! Very clean and great staff! Breakfast was very good and lots to choose from!

It was ok, we got the suite and it was cool, had a jacuzzi tub but we ran it and there was grey stuff on the top of the water. The shower was huge though. Could easily fit 5 people not that we needed that but was nice. The location was cool though and the staff were nice. But there were several light switches that went to nothing and very little plugs to charge our phones.

Kind of weird placement for a BLS American Heart Association course but it was very functional. Kind and helpful front desk worker. Great lemon water.

The hotel interior was not air-conditioned to the point I would have expected, but the room air-conditioning works just fine. While it's not the latest design style for Holiday Inns, it's very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great for traveling. It's also conveniently located for major attractions in Columbia, like Gervais Street and Colonial Life Arena.

Very clean and nice, large rooms. I also used the exercise room and it had all I needed. Only downside is there is a lot of road noise. I was surprised with how loud it was.

Conveniently located. Outdoor pool is nice. Double room was spacious with great AC. Bathrooms a bit dated. Easy checkout. Free breakfast has plenty of options.

Nice clean room. Lots of restaurants close by, including a Panera Bread. So far a good first night.

The hotel was nice and clean. Nothing too fancy. We booked a jacuzzi suite and it was amazing. One thing to note is that there are ACTIVE train tracks on one side of the hotel and a busy Street on the other side. This made for a rather noisy stay, but there is not much to be done about it. All in all we were treated well and enjoyed a nice stay. The location was centrally located with several restaurants nearby. The staff was all very friendly.

Hotel was decent, the staff was friendly and the room was clean. The hotel is located close to resturants downtown, which was nice. The main downside was the busy road and railroad tracks nearby. You could hear the train coming and going and the cars speeding down the road all night long. Overall, the stay was alright, and the Jacuzzi tub was great, but if I was wanting a good night's sleep, I may look at a location farther away from this area.

Staff is very nice. Room was spotless clean super comfortable beds and duvets. Quiet and free breakfast.

Nice hotel. The beds are very comfortable and the AC stays cold. The breakfast was great, they had actual eggs which isn't typical for most hotels I've stayed in. Only complaint is the internet is slow (5mbps cap)

This hotel is fine. It's an average hotel with average rooms. It was clean enough, breakfast was good, staff got the job done, but nothing impressed us or particularly disappointed us. The rooms could use more power outlets, I guess that's one thing. The location is good, and close to downtown and Five Points.

Staff was pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and spacious… large flat screen TV also. Only setback was breakfast left a lot to be desired… scrambled eggs were rubbery, no gravy or grits. Rolls were dried out. Selection of beverages was great.

All of the downtown hotels are probably the nicest hotels I have ever stepped into. Even the holiday inn was one the nicest holiday inn I have ever been to.

Good location not too far from restaurants and local attractions. The general decor looked cheap and old but the rooms are better. Breakfast was good.

Very nice accomodations and helpful staff. I would be happy to stay there again.

Everything was great. Just as expected. Clean, friendly staff, great breakfast. But the most important thing was the cleanliness.

Would not recommend! Only if no other place is available or you get a huge discount! The traffic outside is loud! At all times of the night and really loud during the day. Semi trucks use this route in and out of downtown. Found dead little roaches along the windows which need an upgrade badly. The furniture was older and not up to Holiday inn standards. The shower was big but had no place to put your soap or shampoo. We would have moved rooms but didn't know if we would have got a better room. Good luck! You have been warned.

Would have given them a five-star but had an early check-in in the room was not writing but besides that housekeeping staff was nice very sweet and very patient thank you guys.

Staff was helpful. Room was clean and in everything worked as expected, though it was a bit small. Breakfast was a good variety of hot and cold foods, eggs, sausage, pancakes, yogurt, bananas, etc. The room was looked out over a busy road, so the road noise during the night was noticable.

Decent location (just a few blocks from bars and restaurants). The room is good. Shower is decent. Bed is comfortable.

I was there for a whole week for job training. The room had a bad odor, I ended up going to the store to getting some Lysol spray to spray the room daily. The employees are not very friendly they stay on there cell phones at all time as if the customer is not important The cleaning crew kept my remote while cleaning up my room my second day there. I asked the desk clerk for another remote and he stated that I would have to wait for the next morning. My last night there when getting out of training for my job the key wouldn't open up my room door I told the desk clerk he did something with the key and told me to try it again. In meantime the key still didn't work. Upset!

Air conditioners are very noisy during the night. Front service staff look and feel like they don't want to be working here.

The stay was great, as usual. The breakfast was very good, with a variety of healthier options. Overall, a very good stay.

Everything was fine up until this morning. Tried to get my co-worker's room number to wake him because he wouldn't answer my calls. I know it's 5 AM but there's nobody here to help me.

The room was clean. But the workmanship was a bit shoddy. On the bathroom, three baseboard was not connected properly. I could not get chills water from the faucet.

Well appointed and updated hotel. Good location with quick access to USC Campus. Nice breakfast buffet, could use more space in the eating area though.

Clean, quiet. Helpful, friendly desk staff. Pointed us in the direction of the best food in town, complete with a highlighted map. Decent complimentary breakfast. Variety of pillows. Decent mattresses.

My stay was horrible. When I booked the room I was told I would receive a military rate of $109 with presentation of I. D. Upon arrival. When we arrived we were told our stay would cost $160 for the night because we did not have travel orders. We were not happy about this, but stayed because it was day of reservation we would be charged either way. The a/c unit did not work, the room never cooled below 80°F. The toilet smell awful. I was very disappointed with this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone.

I visited the downtown location in Columbia Sc and everything was excellent. All of the staff was very friendly, everything was very clean, and the breakfast bar was great. Pricing was very good as well. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

I had booked the hotel 1 year in advance for my daughters graduation in May. In February I dropped a day I was suppose to stay. They told me nothing changed. I find out the end of April that they doubled my rates, it went from 450.00 to 850.00. They would not do a thing. Even though I had all the original confirmations. They are very greedy. I was told the owners would not do anything from the manager Julia. We stayed at the Clarion for 500.00. I want everyone to boycott this hotel in particular. It is terrible the way they treat their customers.

Wonderfully staff and so helpful. And for breakfast they actually have gluten free options.

Was not told that $100.00 would be held until we got there. I stayed there on the 18 &19 of March it's April 2, 16 the money has not been put back in my account and when I call they place me on hold with music playing. They pick up the line and don't say anything just check the see if I'm still there. I want my money and want give up… DON'T STAY HERE!

The Hotel was fine. The bathroom tub was broken. Pillows were old. The staff was decent. It was OK, but not great.

Almost ready for Primetime. Bathroom had issues. TV in breakfast area had a horribly annoying signal that made the screen fuzzy and unable to watch. Could be a nice spot when everything works.

If I were able to give ZERO stars I would, I had a trip planned to see my girlfriends son at USC in Columbia, due to the terrible flooding he decided to come home as all classes were cancelled and even the football game was moved. They decided they would NOT REFUND any funds, even though this was a natural disaster. Due to this I will never stay at another IHG again. I have a staff that travels and we were putting in 4-500 nights a year. Due to their near sighted GREED. They cashed in on 4 nights while losing hundreds. no integrity. And. KEEP IN MiND this was the Hotels choice. Please do not STAY HERE. Boycott!

Reserved via Priceline. Was assigned a king single. Asked for a double, and was given a king with a pullout for a $20 surcharge. The pullout had no sheets and had obviously not been cleaned as promotional materials and band stickers were in the pullout. I called the dopey clerks, one a spacey girl with a bad red dye job and the other a cracked out blonde dude who responded to my initial request with a "denied! Ha! Just kidding! " This hilarious response came an instant before I was informed my request was reasonably denied, but the awkward rudeness was not commented upon. I asked the clerks how I could get sheets, thinking it was possible they were stashed somewhere in the room that I couldn't find. The guy barked "that's fine" and quickly hung up. I assumed that this indicated he realized the mistake in charging a surcharge for a pull out and not supplying sheets and that they would be delivered. I spent an episode of a TV show patiently waiting cautiously on a grimey bed exhausted from the road. When the episode ended, I decided to confront the front desk. For about the fifth time of the evening, they goofily greeted me. I could see a pile of sheets sitting on the desk as they stood around obviously chatting. The guy made some lame claim that he instructed me to "come on and get them" in the conversation he terminated within its first 15 seconds.

I made reservations for the 9 of April thru the 12 of April, at a cost of $259.00 a night + $93.24 tax for a total of $870.24 for three nights. At the end of my stay I was charged another $870.24 for a total $1, 740.48. After speaking to the Hotel manager, Rebecca she further compacted things by charged me another $870.24 for a grand total of $2, 610.72. As of 21 April 2015. My situation is still on going.
