My family loved Shem Creek Inn. The staff was great! They were helpful, went out of their way to greet us and answer our tourist questions! Loved the pool being right on the creek. So much fun! We will be going back in our near future!

We had a superb mother daughter stay…. Shem Creek is beautiful and the inn was great, the staff was great, there are beautiful views on both sides. I took some awesome walks on the piers/boardwalks, I will be back ❤️

We really enjoyed our stay. The only thing we would change is that we should have picked a creekside view. That was a bad decision on our part. The marsh side is nice but did not realize the parking would be between. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and had everything we needed!

Stayed two nights in March of 2021 and loved our creek side room with great views! Enjoyed watching the boats, dolphins and birds from our balcony and the room was clean, spacious and comfortable! Front desk staff both day and evening were friendly and had great input on things to do in the area. Kids had fun in the pool and the grab and go breakfast was convenient as well. Very reasonably priced and location was close to the beach or Charleston… where we spent a lot of our time!

Pleasant stay. When the toilet in the room I initially had kept running they moved me no fuss. Nice area for a foodie to walk to differnt places.

This is a great hotel with boat docks out back by the pool. The pool lights up at dark. I could live here. When you check in everyone in your group gets a complimentary drink such as a beer, water, soda, juice. Your choice. Very cool.

Marsh side very nice and quiet. Jessica at the front desk very friendly, along with Mr. Joe bringing breakfast and Ms. Keiona in housekeeping was the best at cleaning the room. Others have complained in the reviews about the breakfast, well bring your own or go out for it. The cost was a big sacrifice for me, but at least I'm getting some much needed rest. This was my 51st Birthday treat for myself. The atmosphere is beautiful on the creek side sitting on the patio at Vickery's Bar & Grill. The king size bed & pillows are so comfortable I slept in my first day. The building was remodeled in 2017.

Super nice visit here in July 2018. Staff is very nice, breakfast is free and more than adequate to start your day (Mr Joe is awesome! ). AC was cold in our room, 115, and the view, while it was over the parking lot, you just look beyond to the marsh and enjoy. Great pool area and view of the creek. Porpoises seeing up and down the creek all day and it would be very odd to not see one. We will be back!

Great inn with an even better view. The staff is extremely friendly and they even provide a drink at check in which is awesome. The rooms are always clean, the showers are nice, the pillows are comfortable, and they have DirecTV which is great! My only advice would be the breakfast could use some work. Just a little more selection would be nice but I understand cost is a factor for a hotel. For example they have croissants but nothing to put on them so they aren’t very usable. The eggs however are very good.

Location is excellent. Red's across the creek is awesome. It is just a short walk over the bridge. Other restaurants around as well. Room is a good size. Updated decor. Beds were a little towards the firm side but still comfy. We went out with All-in-one charters and they were able to pick us up right next to the hotel. If we come back to this part of Charleston again, we will likely stay here also.

We stayed last night on a whim coming back from a wedding and we loved it. Jessie the young lady at the front desk was amazing from the moment we walked in. She greeted us and everything from there was great. We will tell many Richmond friends about this gem and have decided to come back yearly for our anniversary. P. S. Getting a beer after you check in should be done everywhere.

Stayed several days in an upstairs (2nd floor) room overlooking the creek. Well worth the price. What a wonderful experience. I only wish they had pet friendly rooms, as I would have brought my husband and our fur baby. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking underneath was great considering the crowd the area draws at night.

Comfortable rooms and the staff were awesome and very accommodating. Definitely stay on the river side if possible. Plenty of food, drinks and fun within walking distance.

One of the most amazing vacations I’ve ever been on, the staff was amazing. The rooms were so comfortable. The pool was absolutely amazing. I loved that you could walk out on the deck and see the dolphins swimming. And you can walk next door for some amazing food too! Overall this was well worth the drive from Ohio and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I wish Google allowed us to do half a star because, in all honesty, my experience with Shem Creek is a 2 and a half stars. Let me start with the positive. The front desk staff, Amber, was very friendly and helpful when my boyfriend and I checked in. I thought it was a nice touch that they offered a free alcoholic beverage for each person upon check in even though I myself am not a drinker. The location was great and peaceful and you feel that local vibe as soon as you turn into the inn. The view was also nice and relaxing. Sadly, that's the extent of the positive experience that Shem Creek gave me. Our room had 2 queen beds, which was perfectly fine. We had just had a 5 hour drive so we wanted to relax but found that one of the bed had crumbs and hair underneath the cover. We called the front desk right away and they said they would come up to show us to a new room. While we waited, we decided to check out the balcony. We pulled the curtain and found a pill and a goldfish cracker right on the floor next to the sliding door. Needless to say, we felt a bit irked by this point due to the cleanliness issues, or lack thereof. The staff came up shortly and apologized and we were walked to a new room. The new room had a very loud a. C. /heater unit that made a loud can't every time it ran and a loud grumbling noise throughout the entire time that it was on. We were woken up every time it started in the middle of the night.

We recently stayed at Shem Creek Inn for our anniversary, and our first-ever trip to the Charleston area. It's an excellent choice for anyone who wants a special experience outside of the city proper, and it's very close to Sullivan's Island where you can find some excellent restaurants. The creek itself is beautiful, and we recommend checking out some of the kayaking or paddleboarding while you're in the area. We spent some time chatting with Amber, Jackie, and Amanda, all three of which were all truly great people who really made the stay a special one. Thanks ladies! I've also included a few pictures from our room — we recommend the creek side as long as you're okay with loud music from the nearby outdoor bar.
