This hotel is excellent. The food is fantastic and so is the service. My daughter left stuff in our room and the staff shipped it to us. I highly recommend staying here!

This is by far the best hotel in State College. The staff is very friendly, and the two restaurants serve anazing food. The rooms are nice and big too.

The staff is always friendly, the rooms are spacious and clean. The bar, Legends has the most delicious food and fast and friendly servers!

We stayed at The Penn Stater this weekend for an event at the hotel. The front desk staff were very helpful at check-in/check-out ☀️ The event planners and staff were beyond attentive to every detail and the venue was PERFECT for our event! ✨ Legends restaurant was delicious and fast service! Our rooms were very comfortable and we loved the Penn State decor through the entire hotel! 🐾 Definitely can’t wait to stay again!

We stayed at the Penn Stater to attend The Magical Memories Ball and it was the most amazing weekend! The staff were wonderful and we absolutely loved the entire venue! The staff at the front desk were so kind and food at both restaurants was delicious! Room service was great and the area for the ball was great also! If you ever go to State College, I highly recommend staying here! It's definitely the only hotel I will use!

Poor checking in experience with the front desk personnel on duty on May 7, 2021.
The team including the assistant manager were impolite, threatening and downright unprofessional.
The assistant manager does not qualify to hold that title.
The campus police were much more professional and I commend their maturity.

Awesome conference & lodging center!

Beautiful wedding venue. They have the best social distancing and safety precautions in place than any other place I've been to during the whole pandemic, and it is done in a subtle way that allows them to maintain a classy atmosphere… (outside seating, all food and beverages covered, private servers and chefs per table/person, and many sanitizing stations). The food was delicious and served quickly!

It’s large enough to have MULTIPLE events. The FOOD IS FABULOUS! The Staff are very friendly and professional. I was very impressed by two days of conferences.

Our room was ready several hours early. The entire staff were more than helpful and so polite! They offered a larger room for the same cost AND they not only offered but suggested a late check out for no addition cost.

I was here for a 2 day training and it was an all-around great experience!
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and efficient. The fridge wasn’t getting cold; so, I called the front desk and maintenance came and replaced it within 15 minutes!
The lunch buffet at the training both days were great… variety of delicious hot and cold items and a tasty variety of desserts too! A few of my favorites were the potato salad, beef brisket, cheese ravioli, and carrot cake.

This is my second year in a row at the Penn Stater and it is an amazing venue. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and our rooms were comfortable… it was a great stay!

Absolutely gorgeous. What can one say. The staff is amazing. The restaurants are great. Legends is such a welcoming environment. A great sports bar. The Gardens is beautiful elegant warm and inviting. The wear the Penn State name perfectly. Their staff is knowledgeable. Everything is so clean. I love the little paths. You can sit out there and just soak up the tranquil environment.

Security Risk! On Monday at some point when I was in a conference, my door was left propped open with the security latch (by housekeeping or maintenance). I called the front desk in the 5pm hour to report it. There was no response from a manager, so I followed up Tuesday afternoon by going to the front desk. Kerry assured me that he was to discuss with housekeeping. He did not follow up with me until Wed at 12:50pm. 1. There was no sense or urgency to address the issue. 2. The apology text from Kerry included an "if" the door was left open. 3. I felt like I was an annoyance instead of the hotel recognizing the seriousness of the security fail. 4. I was never contacted by the General Manager. 5. As far as The Penn Stater Hotel was concerned, I paid my bill and no further follow up was needed.

Rooms are spacious and well cleaned. Furnishings are business casual. Nothing fancy but still above average and very nice. Staff, Hillary *front desk* and Josh *transportation ** were extraordinarily accomadating, honest, kind, happy to help!

Visited for a conference and I'm always impressed with the accommodations. Beautiful location, updated conference rooms and wonderful landscaping. The hotel is only a few minutes from University Park, so very convenient.

I was there for a banquet/award ceremony recently. Loved the catered food! Everything on the buffet was great. The rooms were fairly standard event rooms.

Very nice conference location. Facilities are well kept, layout is accommodating and staff are always around but never intrusive. The food prepared here is also very respectable. With a hotel and restaurant connected the Penn Stater is a full service conference center. If attending a multi-day conference the Penn Stater is also located very close to State College, so if you don't want to be cooped up in your room there is plenty to do nearby.

Hotel was very nice. Restaurant was very good. Had buffet dinner service. Great variety of food. Very good service. Nice atmosphere, although it was a little noisy with lots of people around. Had a reservation, so walked in and were seated on time. Parking was adequate and close. Lobby was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Attended a professional event here. Rooms were clean and relatively soundproof. Staff was polite. Food was good. Ample parking. No complaints here!

The Penn Stater Hotel has thought of every way to accommodate their guests in the hotel and the convention center. Everything was neat and clean. Food was delicious in both the hotel and convention center. We attended the 95th PA Multiple District Lions Convention for the weekend. I observed this on all 3 days of the convention.

My husband and I take our moms to The Gardens at The Penn Stater for Mother's Day every year. The buffer offered for the day is very nice with a big selection, and they have a photographer take free photos. Reasonable price, nice atmosphere, and good food!

The Penn Stater is in town and is very busy this time a year. As it is time to graduate, parents come to pick up their kids. They stay at the Penn Stater because it is convenient. It is a very clean hotel with really nice employees.

This review is for the lunch buffet on a weekday at the Gardens Restaurant. The Gardens Restaurant was superb for lunch with a large group. Buffet style was perfect, and the dessert selection was fantastic. The general lunch food was not anything I was craving, but it was worth the money.

First this Hotel/Restaurant/Bar is located on the far edge of campus out past the football stadium. I wouldn't say it is even walkable from that side of campus. Second I would also say that it is most frequented by people staying at the Hotel or attending a conference due to its location away from the downtown or campus. This is a University owned property with plenty of parking, very well maintained. The Bar/Restaurant had very pleasant staff and the bar manager was awesome. We had a light dinner and was very good.

While I have only attended events and conferences at the Penn Stater and not as an overnight guest, they have always been the nicest and cleanest place I have seen. The facility is huge and is able to host several large gatherings at a time. The meals and catering are very good, with options for many diets.

Rooms were great, food was good too for the event that I attended. This is my second stay here and going to make it a third this coming weekend.

First time staying here. Checking in was easy, room was nice, except it was hot. It didn’t seem to cool down, even though we kept turning the heat down. We went to bed, hoping the room would cool down, but it didn’t really and was an uncomfortable evening. I Enjoyed the hot tub, but the heated pool felt rather cold. I wished it was a little warmer, but overall it was good. My only real complaint was at checkout, the employee wanted to charge me for room service that I didn’t have. She acted of course like she didn’t believe me, until she said it was on Saturday, and I advised that we didn’t check in until Sunday. Then she said ok nevermind. I will be watching my credit card for chargers though. It wouldn’t stop me from coming again though.

We are having a great time here this weekend. The room is spacious and well appointed for a single. Roomy fridge is included and there is a microwave in the vending/ice area down the hall. The indoor pool and whirlpool and pool are quite welcome in February. Breakfast buffet was awesome this morning with a delicious of traditional PA breakfast items (no scrapple though) but the apple pancakes were a special treat.

The bar was higher quality than one would expect, which was a nice after a long day at a conference. While their main rooms are spacious, and nice looking, many of the other rooms feel like standard corporate lecture halls. The layout can be a bit awkward for viewing vendors, as there isn't too much hall spave outside of the main rooms. It it's extremely easy to get to from ghee highway. The staff were all courteous, and the bathrooms were kept clean.

The conference center is clearly taken care of very well and it has a professional feel to it. The conference room we used for our event was president's hall. The hall is massive and we used it for multiple events throughout the day. For one of our events, we had unforeseen technical needs but the tech team was there for us and responded very quickly regarding the issue we had. The waiters and waitresses were also kind and did a great job clearing tables and picking up people's plates when we finished eating. We also reserved several rooms for committee meetings and each one was very nice. Overall, the Penn Stater served my organization exceptionally well. I would say that we will be back every year — however, the only problem for us is the price tag!

I had the opportunity to attend an overnight seminar here. The food they provided was top notch. The room was simple yet clean and nice. I would absolutely attend another seminar here again, or simply stay here if the need arose.

Clean, well run. Suggest ordering shuttle the night before to beat the convention going crowd. Great event at the restaurant while I was there.

The hotel is nice and clean. They use their own custom soaps and shampoo's made by Penn State. They also have the legendary bar that serves craft brew beer made by Penn State. There are plenty of conference rooms for business meetings, the rooms have great technology available and the seats are comfortable. They also have good catering for food from your meetings.

This hotel is easy to find, and the Wi-Fi seemed better than in the past. My room was comfortable and clean, but the furniture seemed a little dingy. I forget my laptop charger and they found one that would work for me and brought it to my room-great service.

Have stayed here in the past and service and facilities are I was here this time for the Sunday Brunch. At any price it is a magnificent meal with both breakfast and lunch items. At the price they charge it is one of the winners of my best value experiences.

We were there for a gala event. Dinner was served to us and was delicious! The staff were all very pleasant and nice. Honestly I was expecting nicer restrooms, but they were clean. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves.

The location was conveniently located with ample parking. My room was clean and comfortable with an updated look, toiletries and Keurig coffee maker with selection of coffee and tea. The conference rooms were spacious and the meals and snacks and provided were very generous.

Clean, friendly and perfect for professional conference. Memory foam bed was best I've experienced at a hotel. Room service my first night here was delicious, very classy with linens instead of paper napkins, and priced right. Only complaints are very small. Bathroom towels are very small and room was so quiet at night I could hear people next to me in bathroom and hallway. Needed a bit more white noise.

Attended for a work conference and stayed at the hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious, having a refrigerator is nice. Conference center is large and able to accommodate a large gathering. Restaurants are not awful but too similar in menu choices to eat there for more than one or two nights.

We went to the Penn Stater for the rehearsal dinner for my cousins wedding The food was fantastic and there were plenty of portions. The wait staff was pleasant and professional. Overall a very good experience. 10/10 will recommend.

A standard conference center. Tries to be on the upscale side of things. Never stayed there, but the conference rooms themselves are nice enough, and the food is quite good. They have a decent kitchen downstairs that provides for the banquets as well as being good as a separate restaurant.

Beautiful location. Great atmosphere, delicious food. We had two small children with us and the wait staff was wonderful with them. Michael was particularly wonderful, making sure there were plastic cups of milk for our thirsty little dancers.

We attended a wedding reception and the staff was wonderful and attentive. We had two small children and the staff did a great job making sure they and us have everything we could need. Michael in particular made sure our night was great.

From baltimore-dc area, went to Penn Stater for brunch and was blown away. The quality and variety of food there was superb, and actually made for one of the best brunch buffets I've ever had (and I've had some good ones. ) Will go there hopefully every time I come to Penn State.

Guest beware… hotel has bed bugs. We spotted in our room. They moved us to different rooms and only comped us 1 night stay. They said they didn't have a problem. We had to suffer through itching and learning everything when we got home. 1 coworker even brought one home with her. Such a mess. When we were leaving hotel we noticed another bed bug on the lobby table.

Breakfast was not so much variety, you could hear the other rooms.

The hotel is good for conferences but if you are in just to go to a game Perefiero a hotel Mas Serca of downtown. The rooms are a rare and old Pocito.

Nice facilities. Staff was a little unfriendly at one point but the incident didn't detect from the event too much. We were part of a catered event which was excellent other than some over cooked chicken.

Enjoyed my stay at the Penn Stater. The room and bed were comfortable and was quiet except for the occasional ice machine noise. Wifi worked well even with a few hundred of my fellow Mac geeks in the building. Food was also pretty good. Survive the revolving door and you'll have a good time.

I love attending conferences at the Penn Stater. The customer service is wonderful, the meals & snacks are very good and plentiful!

I've been here for a couple conferences and events. It isn't as fun as being in some other city since I'm from here (and theres not much to explore in walking distance) but the center itself is nice, accommodating, plenty of different rooms. Ive also seen the hotel rooms and they are not bad at all.

The Good: Friendly staff, nice facility, big rooms. The bad: I dropped my pen and it rolled under the bed skirt. When I lifted the bed skirt up, my pen was lying next to a clump of wadded up tissue paper. If they did a thorough job cleaning the room, the TP would have been an easy find. They obviously need to do a better job cleaning.

Food was delicious. The only thing that was undesirable was that we were accidentally locked out of our conference room. I'm pretty sure it was a miscommunication. Other than that, everything was great!

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The restaurant food was delicious and timely. Everything you could need on a trip was available on site.

Always has drinks and meals but I went to a presentation that it lasted only an hour. They always keep the place very clean also.

I attended a conference at this hotel. The room was clean and the amenities were good. Food was a little overpriced at the Gardens restaurant. Bed was very soft, but I slept well. Staff seemed friendly, although my interaction was limited.

Outstanding Hotel, restaurant and conference center. The BEST! Shuttle service down and back to town for supper was so nice. Additionally, the late evening maintenance workers, two of them, came to my rescue for spilled nail polish on the carpet and even brought back a fan to make sure I was comfortable and safe after they finished. Kudos to the whole staff!
