So far the staff is great.

The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. I loved the quaint cozy atmosphere. Our room with a King size bed, fridge/freezer microwave, Keurig coffee maker were all nice amenities. The Inn was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We enjoyed our stay while here for our son’s commencement ceremony.

Excellent service, first-rate food and atmosphere. All wrapped up in Penn State. It doesn’t get any better than this.

We love staying here! Always a basket of fresh apples at the desk. Helpful personnel — great dining — close to most things on campus! Also Nittany Lion Inn will shuttle you to variety us places!

Enjoyed are stay at the Nittany Lion Inn very much June 2019. The staff are very personable and helpful. Very nice décor and all rooms spacious and clean. Our room over looked the beautiful golf course. The dining was fabulous and a special thank you the nice gentleman who provides the apple basket in the lobby everyday. The apples are delicious! We are looking forward to our next visit to Penn State and will plan to stay at the Inn.

This is our second Easter we have spent there. We love it! It’s beautiful, clean and the staff goes out of there way for you.

Very beautiful place and friendly staff. I would totally give it five stars. Unfortunately, however, I can't do that. The very first night I ever stayed here, 8 September 2018, with my parents visiting me at Penn State, I heard galvanizing noises coming from what sounded like directly above our room for about five minutes. You read that right; in and out action–and loud, too–directly above us. Appalling, disrespectful, and very inconsiderate. Is it really that hard to keep it down. Like really? It can't be that good! I would stay here again, but if I have a similar experience, that's my last time staying there. Very nice place nonetheless.

I paid for a medium prepared steak and fine dining experience and received a very well done steak and diner experience. When the waitress came to our table to ask how everything was, I told her not so good. She agreed that the steak was very well done and so offered to tell the kitchen. When she returned she said we could order a dessert on the house. We had a show to go to at the State Theatre and had to go with the flow. Never mind that a steak is five times more expensive than a dessert. The dessert was delicious. Most disappointing was that the maitre d' never came to our table to apologize. There were only a handful of customers in the restaurant.

This is a beautiful venue for a wedding and a nice, quaint place to stay the night. The classic aesthetic and charming grounds make you feel like you've gone back in time but with the conveniences of modern day. I also like the way that the hotel is so closely affiliated with PSU. You see touches from apparent student projects such as graphic design on the soaps and valet jobs.

From the outside you might think it is a small place… Oh I say, this is not so! Exquisite to the lobby to the restrooms… Breakfast buffet fairly priced… Did not spend the night so I must tell you I would not know the room rates… Yet, I might think for what I saw pricing can just be as fine as the decor.

Staff is very courteous. Floor plan is a little odd but hallways are labeled well. Rooms have a decent amount of space and well-kept, but they are due for a renovation. Specifically, the carpets look and feel old.

Place is overpriced for the quality of service you receive. Water pressure is terrible and the complimentary shampoo reaks of class oppression. But is the perfect place to see a Penn state administrator catching a quickie with a student.

Very pricey but nice rooms.

It's a tradition in town and has a ton of clout. But I've only found their ambiance to be sort of okay. It's great, but doesn't live up to the hype as much as I thought.

The Nittany Lion Inn has a wonderful atmosphere — no matter if you're there for a formal gala or relaxed brunch. I recommend the lobster bisque.

We attended the mother's day brunch and it was a very nice experience. There were a number of delicious food options and it was very family friendly. We will certainly be coming back again next year!

I was there for a professional event so I can't speak to the rooms, but the hotel is really gorgeous! The staff I encountered were friendly and helpful and the food that was served for the event was delicious! It's just steps from the Lion Shrine on campus, so the location is hard to beat.

Ballrooms were really nice. Food was good, even if it was just finger food. Service was good.

Attended a department luncheon catered by The Nittany Lion Inn. Food was of high quality, as was the setting. Many vegetarian options were available. If you ever have the chance to get the chocolate cake, do it.

I visited for the Easter brunch. It was fantastic. All of the food was great and the staff was very friendly.

The food at the Nittany Lion Inn is on par with the food of other upscale eateries in State College. It is a great place to hold networking sessions or other events.

We've stayed here before, and the location is convenient. As a Penn State alumnus, I've always felt a sense of nostalgia around the old inn. For our second visit, my daughter had an early morning audition at the college, we were required to pay in full at the time of reservation. Several days before we were scheduled to stay, we found that the audition was no longer necessary. I called right away to cancel, but the management refused to refund our money. Very inconsiderate of alumni and inflexible to the changing needs of perspective students. A posh facade with a cheap, "customer is wrong" attitude.

Very nice banquet halls, with kind and attentive staff. The food was quite good, but could be improved slightly. The Inn itself is beautiful and quite cozy.

The hotel was really nice, but a little older. Shower pressure was only ok. The rooms were very clean and the staff was excellent. If you're going to Penn State the location of the hotel can't be beat.

I stayed here for a graduate school interview at Penn State. The food for dinner and breakfast were very good. The staff was very friendly and professional. I enjoyed my experience and would definitely stay here again!

Was at the inn for breakfast, as part of a work event. Always pleasant staff and excellent food. I always volunteer for these events!

This is the classic, ultimate PSU experience. A homecoming for any graduate or fan. Our 3rd time in recent years and we'll be back.

My company had a breakfast/meeting there. The food was pretty good. Not a huge selection for a breakfast buffet, but it all tasted good. They wait staff was excellent and always kept my coffee cup full. The structure itself is quite beautiful and quaint.

Downtown state college. Fancy huge ballroom. Nice food. Good service.

Old, but well maintained hotel on the corner of campus. Free garage parking. Mostly quiet rooms, though there is some hallway noise. Great water pressure and dangerously hot water.

Excellent place to hold conferences. Location was great. Lobby and halls were immaculate. Staff was friendly and helpful.

So peaceful and beautiful and what a wonderful staff. So pleasant friendly and efficient, they do their best to meet your every need. It was a dream I have had and I could not have asked for more. My friends and I had lunch in one of the writing rooms off the dining room. My food was excellent and our server Laurie was over the top. If $$ allows I hope I can do this again. It has always been a dream and it has finally come through. Oh so beautiful and pleasant, an absolute wonderful memory.

Old fashioned early American decor but comfortable room. I just took a shower. The water would have a quick scalding spike then go frigid. You had to turn the water back to hot until it warmed up, adjust it to a good temperature then it would do it again. This happened at least 4 times during my shower.

Fantastic place to stay. Very nice clean rooms and staff is friendly and welcoming. Will def stay here again.

I went there for the Engineering Orientation Networking event and the nice lady behind the counter gave me a pair of scissors to cut the rope that held the tags to my suit. Afterwards another one directed me to the nearest bathroom so I could change out of it. They seem like nice people.

Very nice and clean. Great food! Great area for walking too! They said I parked in a valet parking space, but there was no sign in my space. There were signs for other spaces.

The air conditioning system seems to be limited in its ability to provide cold air on hot days. The house keeping staff and bell hops are very helpful. Front of house can be very good or fair depending on who you interact with. No secured internet. Nice location.

What a great historical place. Great food. The piano in the lobby and the entertainment on the patio during dinner were nice touches. The room was elegant and had plenty of room. The staff was helpful. They offered a ride anywhere within 5 miles of The Inn and would come pick you up when you were ready.

I was there for a buffet for the Penn State graduating class. A lot of the food is very good but then a few things don't fit like the old bay shrimp is not shelled, cleaned or deveined which is a total bummer, because they put hundreds of them out on a nice tried to be served. It's definitely a an easy fix. Still gets a 4 because the prime rib was amazing. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. The crew who were working the Omelette bar were great. Overall great selection and I will return.

The waiters are nice and funny. I am a vegetarian, and the restaurant there has many options. I ate pasta — it was fantastic.

The rooms were very nice, location is great but the service was… Disappointing. When we checked in, the front desk attendant inadvertently checked us in to a room for a person with a similar last name. We had prepaid for the room so the money was already taken out. We caught the error, but they already ran our card and put a hold on the card for a two night stay for someone else's room. This was our "mad money" card for our anniversary. After having the card declined at dinner at Zola that evening (very embarrassing), we talked to the front desk manager. He basically said there was nothing they could do. We would have to call the bank and explain the situation. Huh? You guys screw things up, but it's our job to make it right? The next morning the new front desk manager basically said the same thing and all but blamed us for using a debit card… We'd have to call the bank and deal with the problem. I don't want to spend my anniversary chasing down a clerical error that you created! Look, I get it. Mistakes happen. I'm not mad about that. I am mad that there was virtually no effort on the staff's part to make it right. It too bad because I really like the Inn. But this will probably be our last time staying there. Very disappointed.

I get tired of people saying the hotel is dated. It's a historic hotel, take it all in. Wonderful hotel with great amenities and good service located right on Penn State's campus.

Great location if using PSU facilities in any way. Down town State College has a lot of food and fun to offer at just a block or so away. Rooms are nice, though sometimes they can be a bit of a trek to get to. Service is always great, would recommend.

I went for the PAMS convention. The Inn was a hive of activity but well organized. It's a beautiful building that is well groomed and kept polished. Our brief stay was nothing but pleasant.

The Nittany Lion Inn has a wonderful restaurant that always impresses. The food selection is excellent and both the preparation and presentation of items is unmatched in this region. Although prices reflect this attention to detail, for a nice breakfast or dinner, the NLI is completely worth it.

Service staff was very friendly. The location is ideal, right on campus so easy to get to everything from the e hotel. Food was great, had a fantastic cheese cake for dessert. Parking at the lot next door was validated, so plenty of parking. Great place to host events in state college.

Very nice building. Doesn't look like much on the outside but in the I side everything is extremely fancy. All I did there was attend a formal dinner but it was very nice inside. Also, they made good food.

Stayed overnight in a single room. The room was really clean and had great amenities, staff was extremely friendly and those apples in the lobby were some of the best I had. As a college student I felt a little out of place in the hotel but the staff made my girlfriend and I feel very welcome. Would stay here again.

The breakfast and lunch was excellent. They offer a full breakfast buffet for a great price. My team was surprised at how great of a deal it was. I at there on three occasions and found that all of the food tasted fresh and pleasant. I recommend it any one visiting state college.

I recently visited the inn representing my company at a career fair. The inn is a great place for this event: the atmosphere is cozy, the building is well maintained, and the food is excellent. The staff are friendly and quite helpful with whatever needs their guests may have.

The service was great. The staff was super friendly. Location was perfect, with easy access to campus. The only downside was that the rooms were a bit dated. The free apples in the lobby are a nice touch too!

The rooms were a bit crowded, but I was there for a career fair so this is to be expected. The lights went out periodically which was annoying but was addressed quickly. The set up was nice and things were well organized on the whole with good directions to navigate the rooms. The restaurant upstairs was very pleasant I was pleased to find it had vegan options and had a nice drink menu. All of the staff were very curious and made it a great experience overall.
