Nancy was fantastic. The rooms? Not so much. Found a spider in a supposedly clean wrapped in plastic water glass. After trying to kill it with another glass… fail. I drowned the little mother. The owner accused me of putting a spider in the glass… and why would this glass now have water in it? Shrugs the shoulders while seriously accusing me of hanging out, finding a dead or live spider, putting it in a glass covered in plastic, which was torn all over, then putting water in like a science experiment… ANYONE A. N. Y. O. N. E. Who knows me just a little knows I HATE any SPIDEY regardless of size or venom.

Very disappointed, traveled 6 hours and was put in a tiny room with 1 queen bed to accommodate a family of 4. When asked for a room with 2 beds was told the best they could do was book me another room. So we ended up staying in 2 separate rooms on different floors for 100 dollars more than I originally planned. Father's Day surprise was ruined and we are heading home a day early. The only positive was the lady at the front desk was friendly.

This is a 2 start hotel but this one was clean and well kept. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. Continental breakfast had waffles, muffins, cereal, bagels and English muffins. Also, juice, coffee and tea. One staff made home made banana bread and it was so delicious.

Wonderful hotel with a small business feel! Everything you need is in walking distance and the rooms were very clean.

Staff was very friendly, check in was quick and easy. Stayed with others and they put our rooms as close as they could. While he was cleaning rooms I asked for an extra towel and it was no problem, and he had a great attitude. Rooms were clean with comfortable beds. Usually where ever I stay the beds are hard. These beds were soft and comfy. Best night sleep I've had on vacation in a long time. I even had a little bit of an ocean view. Will definitely be back!

Nive place to lay down and rest or relax. For a small motel it has a decent breakfast. We would definitely return again!

Great value with great customer service. My back approves of the beds and its very difficult to please. No it's not perfect but for the price it can't be beat. We will definitely be back and looking for more events in the area. Thank you for making my family feel at home and comfortable!

DUMP! mold in bathroom, mold and broken seal on fridge, Oceanview is from bathroom window looking hard left. Staff was nice. Breakfast was a stretch. It was continental at best. Short walk to wharf, limited crossing on HWY and across the street from an adult video store. Beds squeeked at the slightest movement. Cigarette butts in stairway and corridors. Just not a great place.

This place is gross! Left after 10 minutes and demanded a refund! There was blood spots on the walls in the bathroom, the toilet was clogged, tiles are nasty, and the room was freezing with no heat! Then when we asked for a refund the guy argued with us. It was 12:30 am and we just wanted to sleep, and he was being very rude. Never again.

Needed a place for the Seafood Wine festival. And even with surrounding hotels jacking up prices because of the event this hotel was perfect. We were able to check-in early and the room was already clean and ready. I had the top floor so I was able to see the ocean. Knowing its not on the Oceanfront I was still satisfied. Only thing bad was the parking. Woke up to a clutter of cars that made it hard to get my truck out. I know it isn't the hotel fault but couldve maybe extended parking lot for guest next year or future events.

Good room for the price. Had a slightly obstructed view of the ocean. The complimentary breakfast had self serve waffles that we're quite good. Great location for the beach, shopping and food. There's also a really awesome Dutch Bros one block over. Check in and out we're easy and customer service was great. What I did not like was the lights above the bed we're two different types one a soft yellow the other bright white so they couldn't be used at the same time. In addition to that when the guests above us used the shower or tub the water noise in the plumbing was very loud in our room. Over all still a great place for people on a tight budget!

I'm sure it is a nice hotel. Would have been nice if I would have been able to come today. Maybe next time huh? I'll update my review at that time.

A good value. Upper rooms with an ocean view are a bonus. Everything worked. Clean enough. Bed was hard but tolerable. Curtain sucked: could not be opened wide and blocked ocean view too much. Included breakfast offerings and setup are bare bones. Would return for the value.

Get what you pay for. Heard the neighbours as the walls are thin. Bedding smells funny. Won't stay again because it doesn't suit our tastes. "Oceanview" is blocked by other buildings.

Ocean view… and, they have waffles for breakfast! This is in Oregon so, you can expect hospitality.

More breakfast options than most, otherwise quite ordinary. Day staff very helpful and pleasant.

We landed this hovel through Priceline… trying to save a dime! Priceline's price was $68. Since we traveled with our dog, it was another $10 at the counter. The room we were assigned was down some stinky, moldy, stairs, with poorly disguised graffiti, on the lowest floor. The room smelled of stale cigarettes, the bed springs were sprung and terribly uncomfortable. We could hear tromping around above us at night and early morning. After reading all these negative reviews and polite responses from management, why don't you actually do something about upgrading this awful hotel? We would never stay at any Econo Lodge after this experience. A positive was very friendly staff, including the manager. I guess you can't do anything about Corporate's lack of concern.

Very friendly staff convenient location on the main drag through Newport. Clean rooms surprisingly comfortable bed and a very nice breakfast in the morning.

Front desk is friendly, rooms do not have or need A/C due to being so close to the coast (nice and breezy at night), and has basic necessities. Only concern I have would be security around the area.

Cheap place to stay, but it's better priced than others hotels in the area. You get what you pay for. A few inexpensive updates would make a world of difference. Throw out the dingy carpet on the stairs and hall in the second floor. While in the hall repaint it, give it some texture or even wallpaper would help. Solid, dingy, white paint. With dirty old together.

Accomplished the objective! The room was clean, freshly painted, and soft towels were provided. Not sure why, but the room seemed claustrophobic and uninviting. No pictures were on the wall. Definitely lacked ambiance. Considering that the carpet appeared new, the couch was new, and it was freshly painted, they didn't follow — through on the upgrade as they left an old phone and an old hair dryer, which made the room also seem outdated, and then made one question the other items in the room. My husband stated that the couch looked old and well used, but I think it was just an old style and made of a beige corduroy. The breakfast was comparable to continental breakfast offered at other hotels; however, the room in which it is served is too tiny. It can only accomodate about 10 guests in very tight quarters. Check in staff were very friendly. I would stay here again.

Decent for the price. Close to the beach and to the bay. We had a bit of a view of the ocean. No a/c, not that you need it. Nice staff. Beds aren't super comfortable, but average. Clean.

Room was clean, especially for a beach area. Ocean view is limited since beach is a block away and other buildings are between the motel and the beach. Close to beach, hiking areas, and nearby businesses. Breakfast includes waffle maker, fruit, cereal, and breads. Staff was very friendly.

Room was clean and well presented. Breakfast was lacking and in a very room considering the number of rooms on site. Otherwise a pleasant place to stay.

Had the was the worst possible experience here in 2010. We were given a voucher for a free weekend stay as a reward for attending a Wyndham timeshare meeting in Portland. Less than 30 minutes after the clerk checked us in the motel manager, who was drunk, began pounding on our door yelling and cursing at us to get out. She accused us of having fake vouchers and apparently had issues with the voucher program reimbursing her or something, It was hard to discern exactly what her problem was with all the profanity and yelling. This almost ruined our trip but fortunately the timeshare company paid for our stay in a much nicer hotel.

They were very helpful and worked with us when we had a problem with our booking.

Excellent for what it is. (Don't go to a "2 star" hotel expecting "5 star" service) The staff was very friendly. We got bumped up to a king size room for free since our reserved room was still being cleaned. Great view of the ocean, and an amazing view of the sunset. Between the great service and being one block from the beach, this hotel is absolutely worth the very affordable price.

The room was nothing to write home about. Rude person working the front desk. But the real headache started a day after I checked out of the econo lodge in Newport Oregon. The general manager of the econo lodge mistakenly charged my $8, 500 of which I never signed for. This completely wiped out every penny I had and then put me into penalty with my bank. My bank wellsfargo said they will reverse the transaction and I will get my funds back. Great, but that process takes 30 days due to the way the econo lodge reversed the transaction. I'm left in limbo with not a penny to my name for 30 days, and incurring overdraft fees the entire time. Never never never stay here.

Room was filthy and stunk of cigarettes. It appeared that many people were living there full time. Room next door was selling drugs from room with groups of people stopping by all night. Group next door appeared to be high on methamphetamine and screamed the entire night. When we complained to office they told group that they were kicking them out because of us and pointed us out. Did not feel safe and will never return again. Stay away!

My husband, son, and I stay 2 nights at this hotel and the rooms were clean and the manager was very nice. For the money it was a great deal. Manager went above and beyond her job. We were very pleased. The continental breakfast was very good. We will stay there again when we go to Newport. Linda O.

We stayed here in Newport last week. And while we have stayed at Econolodge in Newport several times with pleasant experiences, we got into town late into the evening and got a room on the very bottom floor, the bed was very hard and uncomfortable, There was a hair clip on the lamp from someone before us. The shower was pretty gross — there was shampoo on on the wall of the tub (that was not from us) and when you closed the (very tiny) bathroom door, there was red dotted something or another splattered on the back of the door at head level. We have had good luck there in the past, hopefully this was a rare occurrence! The staff were wonderful though, and very kind!

The room was so bad, I can't even give it a star rating. It was not cleaned, we left for several hours, went back and it still wasn't clean after 5pm… it smell so bad that it choked you… there was food containers and used paper plates in the garbage can… bathroom smelled like some one had used it and not flushed for days… it was filthy… I would not even put a dog in there let alone people… they gave us another room, and it was not any better… it smelled moldy… asked for money back and left… I would not recommend this motel to anyone… there are nicer places for less money, just check around…

Staff unfriendly, the toilet and Wi-Fi didn't work, room smelled.
