Customer service is in the pits from my perspective, you might be welcomed nicely when getting there but after being there for an extended periods of time it becomes uncomfortable and borderline harassed, I didn't like how I was ignored when I was trying to update my keycard or how I got knocks on the door before 12pm when I work nights just to be told I need to call the front desk and after doing so being told that I didn't need to call. If I cam prevent going back there I will not return r. I. P this place. Peace isn't in abundance and will lose some of it here.

Soft beds and great house keeping.

This location is convenient to Baptist Hospital. Rooms are decent but dated. Make sure you let them know that you’re at the hospital to get a discount rate. DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT depend on their breakfast. It was put out late, well after 7:10am, and ended early. No coffee at 9:05am. Heard this happens often.

Asked for a coffee maker twice. Front desk said she’d bring one up and never did. The Keurig was broke, wouldn’t close.

Very nice and clean but at the breakfast bar it was really crazy you had to wear mask… sanitize hands and put on gloves yet there were community salt oepper shakers on tables and nobody wiped them down or the tables and chairs as custo ers left… made no sense…

Wonderful beds and pillows. Also loved the walk in shower.

This was a horrible hotel no breakfast as advertised I was traveling with my Mother who is a senior so I was upset morning staff was ride and unprofessional was told the manager would tell me the same thing! I went to the location in Anderson S. C and it was great but this one was the exact opposite and it smelled funny!

Didn’t let us know the hotel was under construction so we had to deal with drilling in the walls while our baby was trying to recover from surgery from an out patient procedure at the hospital down the road. No refund offered.

Staff was amazing! Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

This hotel obviously needs to be renovated. The room wasn't very clean the bathroom was nasty with hair on the floor and the tub was clogged up. The bed was so uncomfortable. It appeared the hotel flooded at some point as the carpet was rippled throughout the whole hotel. I've stayed at many Holiday Inn Express that are really nice and clean and this one was by far the worst I've ever seen. I would'nt stay here again they have plenty other hotels in the area I would look them up!

Friendly staff, but it's a older hotel that needs a lot of attention. Felt like I was getting a cold every morning. Ended up checking out and going to different hotel. Need to mix up there breakfast selections.

It's a linpian place and above all quiet.

Decent hotel, great internet and the facilities are nice. Plenty to do in the area, however the location is near a hospital and the area is incredibly busy. Plenty to eat and sights to see. Water pressure is good and the staff is friendly.

I don’t like it. I hear basically everything in all the rooms around me. Lots of foot traffic all night long occurred the length of my week long stay. There is no AC fan function to drown it out nor an exhaust fan in the bathroom. The hotel overall has a very humid warm feeling, but the AC works really really well. The pillows are so fluffy they are as thick as a piece of paper once you lay your head down. Two stars bc: very friendly/helpful staff, and decent hot breakfast. Hotel could be better in a number of aspects. Would not recommend.

It's a Holiday Inn, so I didn't expect a 5-star experience. However, everything I need is here: clean room, easy to access gym, hot breakfast… Was a bit disappointed with the advertised shuttle service to the med school though, driver was late and not entirely safe on the road. Hopefully this is not the usual.

Just there briefly to meet with furrier. … placing jacket in summer storage. Clerks were polite and. Attentive… rooms I saw were clean and orderly.

It is a shame the city of Winston Salem has this being the only hotel with easiest access to Baptist Hospital. My sister and I stayed one night during our Mother's surgery. It was not clean, had very thin walls (and I will spare you with the horrid details of the noise) which caused us to request an alternative room at 2 a. M. In the morning, relatively unfriendly/disengaged staff, terrible parking, squeaky beds, and the list could go on. Unless you are the type to put up with these issues, we recommend that. You opt to stay further down the road even is the distance is an inconvenience for hospital access. Two stars were for : 1) the comfortable mattress 2) the nice desk attendant that helped us find a good restaurant.

Honestly VERY rundown. Peeling wallpaper, broken air conditioner, much more. However the staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I'd rate the staff a 5 and the accommodations a 2.

Room was clean. Staff pleasant. No hot water. Room was warm all night like the AC couldn't keep up. Breakfast was very poor and lacking.

Wanted to book a room for one night. When asking to get a specific room. The gentlemen was very rude and condescending and didn't try to help me. Was fully planning on booking a room until I spoke with him. And he quoted me $40 more than the website lists for that particular room. I usually like booking with holiday inn too!

Horrible experience. Reservation was cancelled with no notification. The front desk manager, Samantha, was no help at all and didn’t seem to care. There was an event in town and the hotel was fully booked. I had made a reservation months in advance at a lower rate. I guess they knew they could get a higher rate. Beware this hotel. They are the United of hotels. The only bright spot was Keandra. She went out of way to help us.

I live in Ardmore and work for the Wake Forest Medical Center. I called to ask a simple question regarding discounts and the operator, Amber, was quite curt when answering my question, blurting out an answer while I was still speaking. I was not impressed with her customer service skills at all. First impressions are always important.

Tried to get in my room to begin with and was locked out on several attempts. Had to get the front desk worker to finally jiggle the handle and work their magic to get it open. And then when I get in the room, which is supposed to be a king suite… it's a double queen room… like what the. Id recommend elsewhere for anyone else. I'll make reservations elsewhere next time.

We had to stay over night because my husband is a patient at Wake Forest. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to take care if their guests. The only problem we had, our toilet was slow to flush. It was nothing major, and we will stay there again!

I enjoyed it very much. Parking for semi's is kind of tight. Breakfast was great. The staff was great.

Post by Jennifer Baker not Tony. I have waited an appropriate amount of time to write this response to see if I would get a response about an issue I encountered. First the positive; the majority of the staff was friendly and we enjoyed walking to the nearby restaurants. The hotel itself is dated and it should be a health code violation for the solarium to have hole in it. It was very easy to notice since we were trying to eat our breakfast and with it raining outside the water was dripping in. The beds were very uncomfortable. All these things I could have overlooked until my issue on the day we checked out. We came back from breakfast and a housekeeper was coming out of our room, which we thought was weird considering we were checking out that morning. I noticed she cleaned the room as if we were there another night so when I tried to explain this to her I quickly realized she did not speak English at all. The next issue I have I know many will feel is insignificant but trust is a huge thing to me on any scale. I noticed my makeup bag was zipped which I thought was weird but didn't think too much about it until I went to put my makeup on and realized my eyeliner was missing. Like I said I get it's a small object but it doesn't settle well with me that my things were obviously gone through, something was missing and then I had to replace something that I had just recently bought. I looked all around for it thinking no way someone would take something like that.

Very nice hotel. Good breakfast and clean rooms. Friendly staff who went out of their way to help us. A great place to stay in the area.

I arrived very late. Tired. And not feeling really well. Staff was so helpful and professional. Very nice. Quiet room!

I would give this hotel a four out of five star rating. I was quite pleased with it. The staff was very knowledgeable and very friendly. When she found out that I was there to visit my brother who was across the street at the hospital she offered a Special rate that they use for medical visits. Check-in is at 3 PM but she said she had a room available and she knew that my daughter and I drove up from Florida, so she allowed us to check in early which was about 11:30 AM. Breakfast was very nice. They offered a hot breakfast but also plenty of fruit, coffee and other beverages and muffins. Also when we arrived we could smell hot chocolate from where she was baking chocolate chip cookies! They were fresh from the oven and delicious. If I had to change anything it would be the size of the beds. They did not have queen beds, only full-sized. This was a very nice stay, We enjoyed it and we would stay there again.

Stayed here after losing my apartment due to a fire. Great staff, clean room. Only thing is they only have one transport wheelchair, and it's seen better days.

A decent stay at a location that has friendly service, and a pleasant feel, but suffers from certain consequences of being in an older, retrofitted building. The interior definitely has a charm, and a cozy feel, but it might fall short of the quality one comes to expect from the HIE brand. The rooms and halls had a slightly musky/humid air, as is often the case in older hotels fitted with carpets and aged A/C units. The fitness center was more similar to a sauna as well, with the temperature ranging to about 85 degrees. Again, carpets in these spaces tend not to be a great idea. Due to all this, though I felt comfortable and clean, I always felt a slight bit sweaty, or damp, during my stay. Overall it was a decent experience, though it could definitely be improved.

I've been to a lot of Holiday Inn Expresses and have always been extremely pleased. This hotel, not so much. Wallpaper was peeling, old — hadn't been refreshed in a while. There was no "Do not disturb" card (I made one with the note pad. Breakfast was okay. The staff were very nice and courteous.

Best place as far as I'm concerned especially when you are four hours away and they give you medical rate.

The staff was absolutely wonderful! I have a disability and they were so helpful to me. The room was handicap accessible and the staff helped whenever I needed it. They took us wherever we needed to go. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I stayed a week at the downtown Holiday Inn Express/Winston-Salem. The room was always clean and it is near shopping and restaurants. The staff (manager-James, Dorian, Capri, Lakenya, Ivory and the night front desk supervisor) were the most friendly and helpful people. They rain with charm! I would definitely stay again when I'm in the area.

Horrible customer service. Dirty. The pool was nasty. We got to our room the first night and it smelled like cigarette smoke. We were moved to a handicapped room with only one bed, instead of the two we paid for. The handicapped room's shower was clogged and the water ran out everywhere. They decided to let us use the shower in the old room with the cigarette smoke. One of three of us slept on the couch (floor). We decided to take showers in the morning but when we went to the room they had checked us out of the room! We ended up washing our hair in the sink. After calling the corporate, they "took care of it" and we ended up in a new room that was still dirty but at least we had two beds.

Room was decent but had just left a Holiday Inn Express with two queen beds in another city and was surprised with double beds at this one. Also the 2am false fire alarm was not cool. Pool area is nice and near shopping and restaurants.

I had an last minute emergency to come up and needed a room. The hotel was able to accommodate my request at such short notice. The customer service that James and Samantha provided was exceptional! The hotel was clean, the beds were comfortable and the choices they had for breakfast was quite the spread. I would stay here again, two thumbs up in my book :)

Had a wonderful stay here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We got checked in quickly and were very happy with our room. Everything is clean and organized. The breakfast was great and so was the coffee. Will definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel. Obviously, old place been re-done. That's OK. But when you re-do hotel, bathtubs should be re-done or replaced. Ours had mold on the bottom. I mentioned it to the front desk lady, she said uh well. Also, kind of hard to find from the highway. Everything was ok, breakfast was good.

We had reservations for a week when we arrived at 5:30pm the roon wasn't ready so we had to wait around until one was ready about 45mins. But overall staff was friendly, breakfast was hot and good, room was clean. When I finally got my key and went to my room door was left open that was alittle spooky.

I stay here close to 5 times a month when I'm up from South Carolina when I cover surgery cases at Wake Baptist Medical Center. I love this hotel as its just around the corner for work the next day and EVERY staff member at the front desk greets you warmly with a smile and sincerely welcomes you! When I last stayed here the two ladies at the desk were Lisa Gonzalez and Irene Davidson. These two ladies, along with all the others at the front desk in my past stays here, are true ambassadors for Winston Salem. They also give you great dining recommendations upon checking in and Mario's Pizza in the shopping center next door has great food at affordable prices. I am definitely a repeat customer here!

We came to Winston-Salem looking for a home and jobs, this hotel has a great location for getting around town. The staff is wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay, the room was great!

Definitely recommend this Holiday Inn Express, the receptionists' at the front desk were very helpful on picking out food places and desserts. This Holiday is in a good location for business or leisure. Enjoyed my stay and the people were very warm. Would stay there again.

The people are great, receptive and easy to work with. The elevator needs to be updated. It is rather scary if you pay attn to the sounds. The room was clean and spacious. K-cup coffee in the room. The bathroom is starting to look rough, the ceiling has been redone, but not well. Popcorn ceilings everwhere but the bathroom, and it needs it, or it needs to be finished properly. Very comfortable stay though.

The staff here are nice and the hotel has decent room furniture. They don't have suites so no upgrades, and also the bathroom ceiling in my room looks like it needs to be fixed. It's peeling!

If you're coming here for just a nightly stay, you'll probably be fine. When you need a place to crash, anywhere is good. However, if you're here for a presentation, then I would recommend a nicer venue. The staff, however is as accommodating as they can be.

I give this location a middle of the road review because of our accommodations. Two queen bed room was reserved, but upon arrival this was not available. Assigned us a room with two double beds. Opened door and it was already occupied, what a shock that gave. Gave us a king bed with the promise of a roll away bed. Waited over an hour and had to call and request again. This bed, if you could call it that, was more like a canoe. Springs were so bad that when it was laid upon the persons body disappeared if covered up and sunk past the frame of the bed, only body part sticking out was the head, back touched the middle bar of the frame. Ridiculous excuse for a bed. Would have been better off to supply a camping cot. I think that we should have been offered two rooms instead of one since there was such a mix up. But, I digress and say that the king bed was exceptional, everything clean, breakfast delicious, especially the orange juice.

Very nice hotel, with good hot breakfast. The beds are comfortable. It needs new carpet, which makes it feel dirtier than it is, otherwise I would give it a 5. Great staff, very convenient to Baptist Hospital. Good Wi-Fi.

I was quite surprised to read all the negative reviews that this hotel has. My experience was quite the oppose, the rooms were newly renovated, nice and clean. Next to my bed was a charging port which I found to be very useful. The hotel staff were very friendly. The hotel location is very convenient, next to a small shopping center with good restaurants. Overall I was very satisfied with my stay and I think it was value for money.
