The Newark Garden Hotel is a great place to spend the night. The impression I had is that it was built in the 1960s and has been diligently maintained and upgraded since. The room was about the size you would expect for the price and it was spotlessly clean. In fact, it had a laminate floor with no carpet, so any dirt there would have been obvious. The beds were comfortable if a bit smaller than we would have liked. The included breakfast was pretty good, with the standard fare like make-your-own waffles, scrambled eggs, cereal, etc. The only complaint we had was that it was a little more expensive than we would have liked to pay for this sort of hotel. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would probably stay there again if we found ourselves in the area.

The pool is beautiful and the beds were amazing, very nice people. The AC works like a charm. I highly recommend this hotel.

Older hotel and shows it. Has a decent indoor pool, pool hours are not enforced so be prepared to be woken up at 7:00 by screaming kids as most of the rooms encircle the pool. Breakfast was not too bad.

The front desk people are extraordinarily helpful and friendly. The rooms are nice and clean. The indoor pool is a nice perk. The only con is that there is no elevator, but they happily moved me into a first floor room as soon as one became available.

Great staff. Really dated building and costs more than the larger chain hotels. Breakfast was a joke too in at 8am for it and hardly anything to choose from. No healthy options either.

If you rate this on the basis of this being a $250 a night hotel, and get your aye hole in a twirl, then you are a moron. The place is clean, the amenities are good, and well worth the rates available. The front desk gal was helpful and friendly. I will say that certain aspects of this hotel are dated, giving it a working deco feel. Other aspects are right up to date. This is how a family run hotel functions in an area that is somewhat off the beaten path.

If I could give this a negative star I would. The hotel smelt of pot and cigs throughout the hallways. Then we get in at 2 am from restoring power in the area and the water pressure barely takes the soap off your body. I would avoid this place if you could. Definitely would never stay here again.

I have been vacationing at Newark Garden Hotel for 2 weeks, I'm thoroughly enjoying the clean, bright pool and skylights. It's nice and warm, my Granddaughter is coming to swim, we'll have a blast! Excellent staff here also. Very accommodating…

Stayed here as a plane to start after a wedding. It was very nice, but the pricing is a little high. They did offer a wedding discount. And there is a very large area for congregation. Would recommend.

We were in town for a family funeral, just before Christmas. It was cold and snowy on arrival. Ugh! This is the only hotel in town and it is out of another hotel era. Several family members stayed there. Pros: comfy beds, hot water, new towels, soft sheets, warm duvet, new vanity, good water pressure. Ptac unit heated well, microwave, small refrig. Ability to have interconnecting rooms. Hot Breakfast included & Wi-Fi! Accommodating staff. Cons: hallways not heated, dated decor, beat furniture, drawers dirty, rusted clothing racks, broken hardware on interconnecting door, debris behind nightstands. So if you don't mind small town Americana and can appreciate comfort over visuals you won't go wrong booking here. I do however think it is over priced. I wish they had more business so this could be spiffed up & marketed to its original potential.

Clean and comfortable. Heating is slow but eventually effective. Since I have family in a near-by town, I will be staying there again.

We stay a couple or three times a year on biz travel. On a budget and this is value for money. Its an Older property and is being upgraded. Great Value. Safe hotel, very clean rooms and friendly helpful staff. Indoor Pool. Hot Breakfast. Happy Days❗

Very nice hotel. Very good buffet breakfast and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The entire staff were very friendly. Only unpositive thing would be you can hear the people in the adjoining room very well. No sound proofing in walls. One small negative and lots of positives. I would stay there again.

The service was awesome and the rooms were very clean, the new owners did an amazing job re doing the place. Only down I can say is the bathroom was a little small but the shower had great pressure and really helped relax my back after a 13hr drive. I would recommend the newark garden hotel to anyone looking for an affordable clean place to stay.

My family and the Softball Team really enjoyed our stay. Can't say enough thanks to Dave and the young girl at the desk. They were great!

Great place to stay, everyone was kind and very helpful. The room was clean and active worked wonderfully. Pool was fantastically warm and sunny. The only problems we had were with the Wi-Fi. Over all great place to stay.

Good prices, clean, helpful and friendly staff and a nice breakfast. Fit the needs for a one night stay in the area perfectly.

Management was very helpful and accommodating, the room was dated and in decent shape. Internet was decent speed and good signal, my only complaint was the strong and persistent odor of chlorine from the pool. It smelled for half the night like the pool had just been shocked and I was in the same room as the pool.

We stayed there weekend of 4/22/17, staff is exceptionally nice, from the check in clerk, to the breakfast staff to the owner. Rooms were clean, owner is working on getting the bar up and running but that didn't matter to me, we like walking around town and experience new places, the corner cafe on the other side of the canal has a good menu, staff are characters. Used conference room for an event. Staff was courteous, room was clean and quiet. Easy to get to right off of Main Street.

The hotel is great. The owner is making the necessary updates but its not lacking where it is now. I stayed for three days and plan to stay again next time. Great water pressure, clean bathroom, great soap/shampoo/lotion combo. The beds were so comfortable I didn't want to leave. Also owner is a VERY nice guy, very talkative, friendly, honest. I'm glad this isn't a chain hotel anymore because it has improved so much.
