I had a horrible experience with my hotel I booked through booking. Com. I paid more for a king room only to be given a double that wasn’t cleaned. Garbage, dirty towels, dirty bedding, used soap. No housekeeping was available when we arrived around 6pm. 1 staff person for a fully booked hotel. Thankfully we got our bedding changed but that was it. My husband had to take the garbage out of the room. We had to ask for towels and new soap. Thank God I brought a can of Lysol with me. Also smelled of cigarette smoke. We called ahead to make sure there was a crib or pack n play. The person that we checked in with had no idea what a pack and play was or where they would even be. At one point he brought up an old, dirty blue pad that must have been from a pack n play from 20 years ago. But still nothing to put it in. This was our first overnight stay with our baby. We had to wait until after 8pm when another employee came in and found the pack n play. I didn’t even want to shower because there was someone else’s razor and soap in the bath. When I went to checkout and inform the manager he said there’s not much he can do because we booked through booking. Com and asked if $50 was fair to give me for cleaning my own room. No it is not fair. What kind of question is that? We want a refund. Then he tells me there are rooms available as spare rooms if something like this happens. Well perhaps train your staff instead of telling me about it. We spent all day outside in the hot sun and we wanted to take cold showers and eat the food we picked up on the way to the hotel in an air conditioned room not in the old sofa in 100 degree area outside of our room. Booking. Com contacted the property and they wouldn’t provide any compensation. So I’m glad I had a night away where I can clean like I do at home. Ridiculous. If you are thinking of staying here, consider sleeping in your car instead.
