Great venue, great amenities and friendly staff.

I stayed at the Sofitel New York for 5 nights between October 19 and October 24 and I simply loved it there! The hotel staff from the doorman, to front desk, housekeeping and room service staff were all super friendly and very customer oriented. We opted for a luxury room and got an amazing room on the 23rd floor. It was very spacious and quiet, had a big bathroom and incredibly comfortable beds. I had not one single negative thing to say about it and I will definitely go back there when I'm visiting New York again!

We have enjoyed our stay at this hotel very central to all where we wanted to visit. Very clean and helpful staff. Only downfall they have the now is no coffee facilities in bedrooms and yes there is room service but we couldn’t access menu via TV so we ate out everyday. Plenty places nearby hotel. They need to open Resturant soon before they lose their custom hopefully they are planning to fully open soon.

I have just looked at my credit card and the Sofitel has charged me£307 to my credit card without telling me. I had nothing fromtheir mini bar and didn’t use their restaurant or room service, the maid service didn’t clean the room appalled at the service of this hotel, when I arrived at 5pm my room wasn’t ready. The some of towels supplied were worn and ripped. All of that I forgave at the time but then to find a charge of £307 unexplained on my credit card I am outraged and will be blogging about this on my you tube channel unless I here from Sofitel with a apology for this and a refund.

Great service, convenient location!

Lovely quite hotel in a busy busy city. Excellent staff and overall service as expected at Sofitel. Our room had no tea and coffee making facilities, however, perhaps this is the New York way.

From the time Elvis greets you at the door to all the wonderful staff, the service is wonderful!

It's a very friendly and helpful hotel. Awesome personal touches and so helpful. It's also got a great location to 5th Avenue and times square.

I have stayed at the Sofitel many times over the last 10 years! It is a fabulous hotel! Great rooms and always treated wonderful on celebrating different occasions! Can’t wait to bring my daughter-in-law for her 40th Birthday in August! We will be staying at Sofitel and so excited for her first trip to NYC!

Honestly the worst experience i’ve ever had in a new york hotel. I checked in at 230 and was told the room wasn’t ready. I understood that T the check in time was 3 pm. I was absolutely assured that when I returned the room would be ready and my luggage would be delivered to my room. At 5 pm when I returned the room was ready and I was told my luggage would be delivered to my room. At 1 am when I returned to my room my luggage was still not in my room. I had to call the general manager before my luggage was delivered. Honestly the worst hotel service I have ever received. I don’t think that I will ever choose to stay in a sofitel again. No apologies for the poor service. No acknowledgement of their mistake. No effort to offer service recovery. There are many hotels at this price point in this area. Choose at random and you are likely to have a better experience than I did.

One of the best Manhattan hotels, for my taste. This is my third stay here. I prefer this Sofitel, when price is right. Tasteful, well appointed rooms, nice bar and restaurant Gaby, expert service. Enjoy staying here, with few wrinkles.

Great location and friendly staff. The restaurant is wonderful, some of the best Scallops I have ever had and delicious cocktails. Nice size updated bathroom, and rooms. Would give it 4.5 stars but that is not an option. Not in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Times Square but close enough to walk everywhere.

The rooms are lovely. They are a little bigger than normal NYC hotel rooms but the furnishings are nice and the bed is so comfortable. Bathroom is very nice too. Not the fanciest hotel but a step above most in the City.

The room was small we had a horrible view the bed had hair on the mattresse the ice machine didn’t work no coffee machine in the room only thing nice was the location.

Just arrived home in Montreal from the most wonderful six night stay at the Sofitel New York for a special birthday! The whole experience from arrival to check out was so wonderful I feel compelled to leave a detailed review. As we arrived quite early in the morning we were extremely pleased to have a room ready upon arrival. Special thanks go out to Amanda and Mateo at the front desk who really went above and beyond to allow this to happen and make our entire stay most enjoyable. It is a nice touch that the hotel now has a guest relations employee to ensure that guests are well taken care of during our stay. We had the most wonderful room on the 22nd floor which was quite spacious and impeccably maintained by the housekeeping staff on a daily basis. The location of this hotel so ideal especially if one enjoys seeing shows on Broadway. We could not have been more pleased with the incredible breakfast we had in the hotel restaurant each morning which happened to be included in our hotel rate. Special thanks goes out to Teresa who warmly greeted us each morning and to two wonderful waiters Benny and Dos who were so professional, pleasant and accommodating with certain food restrictions we had. You can tell that take pride in customer satisfaction and enjoy what they do. We asked for a coffee machine in the room which was provided free of charge and bottles of water delivered daily during the New York heat wave was much appreciated as well!

I always stay here if I can when I’m in New York. It’s a little piece of France right in the heart of Manhattan. Service excellent, extremely comfortable beds (Sofitel is renowned for this) and great bar/restaurant. What more could you want?

Return visit to the hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly as always. Rooms are very comfortable and well maintained. Great location just a couple blocks from Times Square.

I have already had the opportunity to stay in Sofitels, in China in particular, and the level of equipment and services is actually very superior. The only advantage of Sofitel New York is its location, just a few steps from time square, 5th Avenue, Grand Central and the Empire State building.

They deserve every 5 star rating they get. While we were there, the union went on strike, obviously hoping to paralyze the hotel. The hotel didn't say that, but it's easy to figure out in New York City. They had to turn check-ins away because they wouldn't have enough towels, sheets, etc. But they found accommodations for people displaced and did it with cheer and patience that was truly remarkable. We were there when the union went on strike so we stayed and got to be in awe at how graceful the staff was, though arriving guests were obviously annoyed because they couldn't be told the real story. It was a 5 star experience even with all that, so I can't imagine how great it is when extraordinary events don't occur.

Booked a room and paid for it a month prior to my trip at Hotel Sofitel New York through Expedia. When I checked in, I was told that rooms were completely sold out and cannot accommodate anymore guests. They had arranged to transfer me along with other guests to a different hotel. I ended up staying at Grand Hyatt. Although I have no complaints with the service at Grand Hyatt but the point is, it's not the room I had originally wanted and it wasn't what I'm expecting. How could they not know ahead of time that there's no enough rooms for guests on that specific dates? I could have had booked in another hotel of my choice if they had notified at least a week prior to my trip not upon my arrival. With the price I had paid per night, I could have had stayed in any other posh hotel in New York. I was so disappointed and would never booked a room ever again at Hotel Sofitel New York.

Good location and service. The restaurant was closed a couple of days and we did not receive any previous notice and option for breakfast.

Great midtown location and comfortable rooms. Lots of floors here, so quiet rooms are available on the higher levels. Like the French vibe here, courtesy of photos of Parisian landmarks in the public spaces. It's unstuffy and the service is friendly without being patronizing. Will stay here again.

Very posh Hotel and it lives up to the Accord brand of premium! It was great to have a hotel so close to Times Square and also to have staff members who are so polite and professional. The rooms are large and we'll equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. I enjoyed the breakfast service, have their salmon as it is to die for. All in all a great place to stay and it most certainly lives up to its expectations.

The Sofitel is so good there is a pizza shop nearby and you can order room service. The rooms are very well cleaned before guests visit and the building is well maintained the facilities are so good I would highly recommend it. There is a bar downstairs at the lobby. The Bed is so comfortable. I had a fantastic time.

I had an overall enjoyable experience at the Sofitel in New York City. The rooms are impeccable offering significant comfort in midtown Manhattan. Gaby restaurant is quite enjoyable and offers an excellent meal. The service is what you would expect from a Sofitel.

A beautiful and historic hotel so well located. Our suite even had a small terrace with a great view of the rooftops of Manhattan. The service exceeded absolutely any expectation. Extraordinary. Ah, the bathrooms are brand new and renovated; Which is a rare commodity in Manhattan.

We just had the most incredible stay at the Sofitel. After 7 hours of flight delays, and an eventual cancellation, we ended up driving 6 1/2 hours in a horrible rainstorm to get to NYC for my husband's birthday weekend. We arrived at the hotel at 10:30 pm — half hour late for the start of the jazz concert (which was his birthday gift). The staff was kind and wonderful and accommodating from the second we arrived. We left the hotel immediately in an attempt to catch some of the concert (we did! ) Upon our return, we found a lovely handwritten note, a bottle of wine and jazz playing in our room. The staff and this wonderful gesture changed the tone of the whole day for us. The rest of the weekend was just as great. The hotel is beautiful and the entire staff is exceptional. I highly recommend the Sofitel NYC without hesitation! We will be back.

Fortunate enough to have met the manager a wonderful lady who took personal care of us beyond my expectations. She was outstanding kind and caring we will always remember our experience because of her! Our stay did not begin well but as soon as she found out it changed for for the better and kept going. She even personally said goodbye and insisted on doing so. Highly recommended!

Great stay and location in downtown new York and services in. Neighborhoods at Christmas 2017. I hope to return soon from Treviso Italy.

First of all this location is perfect for walking around the nyc. Second, hotel service is really nice. I highly recommend this place if you are visiting New York for the first time! Best customer service!

A little more expensive than the rest in Manhattan but it is well worth it if you want to enjoy NYC. Centrally located and excellent rooms.

You will enjoy this experience! My husband and I had a lovely weekend getaway at the Sofitel-NYC. Everyone from the bell boys to staff and registration desk persons were all attentive, helpful and most courteous! The room was spacious, comfortable, well decorated and very clean. The neighborhood was nice and close to Bryant Park, NY Public Library, and walking distance to Broadway theaters and Rockefeller Center. We had a great breakfast at Gaby's. The food was delicious and the restaurant setting reminded us of our recent trip to Paris :-)

We had our daughter's wedding at the Sofitel New York. Lovely lobby, gracious hotel staff and very comfortable room with wonderful view of the city. The wedding was wonderful. Food delicious and arrived hot! I am highly allergic to fragrance and all the Sofitel hotels have fragrance piped into the lobby and the restaurant. The hotel was kind enough to turn down the scent for the wedding.

From the reception to the door to the start the level of service is impeccable. The French touch with the hello that each member of the Sofitel team tells us at the first contact confirms the French character of the brand.

Well I have years to stop at this Hotel because I like this brand around the world, and New York I like the location, I've been in variuos countries and most very good.

We love staying at the Sofitel, received a very warm welcome. Staff always friendly, Concierge and Bell Boys always very polite and very helpful. The room again was amazing, lovely view, loads of space, very clean. Maid service and turn down service excellent. We enjoy the Sofitel as it's close to everything. Very luxurious foyer and rooms.

We found our stay lovely. Very nice front desk staff. Great location for theaters. The bar offered one of the best drinks (White Cosmo) I've ever had. It doesn't have the history or richness of its neighbors (Algonquin, Royalton) but it does have a classy, European feel. Would recommend.

We had a wonderful time at your hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and quiet — loved the private hallway that adjoined our two rooms. Food and drinks in the restaurant were great as were the wait staff and overall atmosphere. Close to many attractions both by cab and walking. We would stay again. The hotel is always so welcoming. The staff are attentive. The hotel is very quiet, ideal to recover after a long trip. This is a nice place for families.

My stay at the Sofitel New York was perfect from check in to check out. This hotel is beautifully decorated. My room was sparkling clean and well appointed. The hotel staff were attentive. I want to thank them for a special visit, as I was their "guest of the day" and received a few very unexpected, but welcome extras! Even without these, I would rate this as one of the best hotels I have visited in a long time.

The three rooms we booked were excellent, very comfortable. When we arrived at 4 PM, only two of the three rooms were ready so my children and grandchildren were in our room 2217, waiting for 2006 keys (the receptionist said she would bring up the room cards in a few minutes since the room was almost ready} to be brought in. An hour later, I called reception and a bellman brought up the keys. Upon checking out, I received charges for breakfast which were included in the room rate and the person apologized. Still waiting for other charges to be reimbursed because additional charges were incorrect and accounting was working on it. I was assured that I would be reimbursed but these overcharges should not have occurred. Nicholas, the weekend manager, was very helpful in making our stay more comfortable. P. S. One week later, the billing office corrected the statements so everything was then correct. We would certainly return to Hotel Sofitel despite this error. Great accommodations and location.

First time in a Sofitel, and I can't wait to book again. The New York location was perfect, central to everywhere I needed to be. Clean, Service/Staff friendly, efficient and accommodating. I loved the fresh flowers in my bathroom and the turn down service. I can't stress enough how much I loved the bed! Most comfortable bed ever! Thank you for an amazing stay!

In the last five years or so, we have stayed in over 25 Manhattan hotels, every time choosing a new one. Sofitel is the only destination that we would definitely like to stay at again. Everything from the envious location to the exquisite and courteous welcome, the impeccable housekeeping (we left our room for a quick breakfast and found our room taken care of upon return), the soundproof quality, the abundance of elevators eliminating any possible wait, and down to the spacious and more than well-appointed room (including Lanvin toiletries) — everything was simply perfect.

Mid-town is way too busy & 44th Street is a mess but this gem is a great find althought a little pricy. The staff is exceptional!

Nicely appointed hotel close to Times Square. Staff speaks fluent French but for an American, you may need to listen closely. Excellent customer service. Small but lovely room.

I went to the first annual Baguette Battle. It was held in the ball room on the second floor of the hotel. The Baguettes and cheese were good, but the room was so packed with people that it was impossible to move around. It ended up being more of a stressful than fun experience in the end. Maybe the next one will be held in a larger venue.

It's been a while, but I really enjoyed my 4 day stay at the Sofitel. The doormen remembered our names every time we entered and exited. We also lived the restaurant. Beds were really comfortable.

Good experience. Great staff, nice rooms, very comfortable feather beds and so on. Only downside is the slow free Wi-Fi. You have to pay to unclog it. With how much this place costs already, they should include the fastest possible Internet access.

Highly recommend this hotel. Really nice beds and sheets not saying that in an untastful way actually a high thread count. What a really plus is the Hermes soap come stock in every room. Thanks Q.

Meet France in the Big Apple with Sofitel, the "bonjour " at the entrance, its galleries in the halls and the elevators, everything contributes to make Sofitel a Luxury hotel.

Sofitel New York (in my French accent) is such a classy hotel! The staff was kind and helpful. The rooms were not as small as most people stated about NY hotels. Comfy beds! The price was reasonable, however, it is not necessary to get breakfast at the hotel because there are great breakfast places nearby such as The Red Flame and Cranberry Cafe. Would stay here again!

My husband and I stayed at the Sofitel New York as a splurge for my birthday. We got a great deal on Hotwire, which worked out really well since we were within walking distance of everything we wanted to see in NY. While the rooms didn't feel quite as luxurious as I had imagined (I guess I don't know the difference between 4-star and 5-star hotels), the hospitality was FANTASTIC. The woman who checked us in at the front desk was so sweet and friendly that it was almost alarming. When she heard we were in NY for my birthday, she had champagne sent to our room! It was the kind of personal touch which I haven't experienced at other NY hotels and which I really appreciated. Kudos to the Sofitel team — — keep up the good work.

We have been a few days in this hotel to discover the charms of New York and has left us impressed. Without a doubt, that if we go to New York we will stay again in this hotel. Is one of the best hotels located there, in the same street to Time Square and to the side of the 5th Avenue. Surely not disappoint.

Sofitel is my site followers go to the country that go, for that go to Sofitel is like sleep at home with your mother, always earrings you so that you do not lack anything. If I travel not seeking another site. In other words, service excellent, impressive quality, perfect breakfast. Wonderful were the days there, thank you very much, I recommend it.

Chouette, my first hotel review! While I certainly have heard of Sofitel before, I never stayed at one until this past weekend trip to NYC. My boyfriend booked the hotel for only $200/night which is not bad at all for NYC especially in the Times Square/Midtown area. We decided to drop off our bags/see if we could check in early around 8 in the morning. To my amazement, they did have a room available and let us check in. When we went up to the room however, there was clear evidence the previous occupant had smoked. We called down to the front desk, primarily because we didn't want to be charged for a room that was smoked in and because they have a strict no-smoking policy. The front desk receptionist was very apologetic and said they would get housekeeping on it immediately. We went back down to the front desk, where she told us that she would be upgrading us to a king bed room for the inconvenience. Honestly, it wasn't inconvenient at all; we just wanted to bring it up to their attention and not get extraneously charged. It was very, very nice of them to upgrade us at all. Service is top notch. Everyone speaks both English and French and are extremely helpful and polite. This kind of service is on a whole other level when it comes to hotel service. Later in the day, we came back after they had called and said our room was ready. The room was very spacious and clean.

Unlike many New York hotels, this is a modern building, but inside much effort was made to give it character. Prices are excellent for the location and the level of service, especially on the weekends. The little bar is nice and intimate and serves good martinis, and you're just a few blocks from a subway station, a nice little park, the bustle of Times Square, and any number of great restaurants and pubs. We got great recommendations from the staff, too.

The beds are super comfortable. Stayed in room 1818 which was very quiet. Spacious room, great facilities. Excellent location. Outstanding customer service. Everyone was extremely helpful, in particular the concierge who had excellent local knowledge and gave us really good recommendations. We were very happy with everything. I was celebrating my birthday and the staff left a lovely chocolate cake in my room. That was a nice touch.
