Clean, nice staff, good value.

So I got to the place pretty late at night and the female receptionist that night was super nice! She helped us with our luggages up the flight of stairs. We had 4 super heavy luggages. She even offered to let us store our luggage after check-out. The staff the following day wasn't as friendly. The dudes didn't even offer to help my mom and I with ANY of the luggages. The rooms were okay for its price. Space isn't a thing and the air-conditioning was noisy all nite long, but otherwise, the hotel was alright.

I had a room facing the avenue and it felt like the cars were driving in the room. Maybe if you book here, make sure you get a room with window facing the inner court, though I'm not sure how much better it is. The AC was really old and kind of loud too. The mattress was rather hard. It's clean, staff is nice and forthcoming.

Some nasty looking stains on the sheets and tiny toilets took away from what is otherwise a pretty great place.

Be PREPARED to pay more for your stay than quoted by the staff! After staying here for three nights I was charged an additional $91.80 as the room rate went from $149.00 per night to 00 per night for an additional night. Management admitted that training is needed for his staff, as they failed to communicate the additional charges. NO REFUND was provided! Get everything in writing or be prepared to pay additional fees.

2 stars is generous for this hotel. This establishment cuts corners everywhere and obviously does not care about the comfort of its guests. The room itself was okay (clean and aesthetic design), but the bed was not comfortable and the pillows were flat. The shared bathroom/showers are not at all practical and are low budget. What do I mean by this? The shower is accessed with a physical key; everyone has a key that can open the shower door, thus rendering the lock useless! Also, the soap they provide is cheap. Secondly, the toilet is in an actual closet remodeled into a bathroom — it was VERY cramped. I am petite and could not sit on the toilet without my knees smashed against the door. The staff here in general is also not accommodating and treats guests poorly. Having paid ~$170 for a room, I am sorely dissatisfied and disappointed, and will never book a room here again; I also advise you to stay far away. I am a budget traveler, and this is not at all a good deal, all things considered.

Didn't get to stay at this hotel. Traveling from Australia in June and a few nights ago my reservation was cancelled while I was asleep, as they thought my credit card was "fraudulent" — and I leave in 2 weeks! Be warned! No remorse or genuine customer service. No attempt to rectify the situation. And still no call from the manager as they said they would 24 hours ago! Avoid!

Room was fine, but nothing special. Seemed to have issues with the Wi-Fi. Good cheap place to stay in New York City.

Got what we paid for I guess for the amazing location. Tiny room which was very hot, no windows or AC but location location location. Free tea and coffee provided. Showers/toilets modern and clean.

Quality excellent price, very well located, and offer exactly what they offer, neither more nor less, all right, highlight the location, very close to Penn Station to penalties 2 min walk, as a negative point I would say the room is small with just place for suitcases and two People.

Did not stay, but visited the hostel. Staff was courteous and facilities looked clean, though quite tight. Note: I've never stayed at a hostel, so I have no basis for comparison. What turned me off was that the staff specifically mentioned the no-smoking policy, but it was quite evident that other guests had been (or were still) smoking, both cigarettes and pot. I don't judge people who smoke, but I hate the smell (especially pot). If you don't mind it, this seems a clean-enough, affordable option in an expensive city. 24hr 7-Eleven right outside is a convenience.

Worst customer service, just dont go by their ad and but go through every detail, They dont explicitly tell they are like dorms but place the ads under hotels which they are not They HAVE BATHROOMS SHARED WITH OTHER ROOMS WHICH THEY DONT ADVERSTISE BUT HIDDEN IN FINE PRINT. They are in it just to make money nothing else. For same price you will get better deals in NYC, just search a bit. I have gone thorough terrible experience with their staff. Dont book it. ALL 5 stars are looking like paid reviews to me…

Be warned, this is a hostel type hotel, as such you will have shared bathroom and showers. With that said, the place was very nice, staff was friendly and Wi-Fi was solid and fast. The price is very good compared to standard hotels, but as I said, you was to share some stuff. There are 2 bathrooms and showers per floors (about 8 bedrooms) and are all very clean, albeit small (there was one bathroom I couldn't us since it was so small). Rooms look nice and have AC, but can be very small. My road bike barely fit. As a place to sleep it's nice, but don't expect to do much in your room.

Wasn't aware that the bathroom and showers were shared, granted I booked with a third party. Staff is very nice. Beds are comfortable, pillows are not great quality.

Not good option to stay with family. Very small rooms. For single person or two this will be good option. No good view of surrounding.

Quiet place. Rooms are cosy but not too small. Great location and very clean. Bathrooms are tiny so don't eat that extra burger if you fancy a trip to the toilet at 4am.

A great welcome, very friendly, doubts and toilets are regularly maintained, I highly recommend it.

We stayed here for a week during Thanksgiving holidays (sorry I didn't write a review earlier), but this was the best place I've ever stayed in New York. I hadn't ever heard of it, but when it was recommended my my Amex Travel Agent and being part of the Fine Hotels and Resorts, I was in. We had the entire 10th floor to ourselves. Our butler waited anxiously in the hall waiting for something to do. Or room had 2 bedrooms, a dining room, living room, 3 bathrooms, and it was the Penthouse, so we had a circular glass staircase in the corner of the living room leading up to the roof top terrace. Our terrace off of the dining room/living room was also nice, but the rooftop terrace was much better. Not only was it furnished with sofas, chairs, a bar, grass (fake grass of course), but we had a view of Times Square from up top. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and made you feel comfortable, this hotel only has 90 something rooms, as compared to the Hilton in Columbus Circle, which has over 2000 rooms. So we felt special. Everything was in walking distance, and if we didn't feel like walking, to hotel Mercedes would bring us where we wanted to go, for free. I didn't see any of the other rooms so I can't comment on those, but The Producer Suite? (I think that's what it was called) was excellent.

If travelling to New York and you want to stay in a beautiful boutique hotel which is right in the centre of Times Square then you cannot go past Casablanca. The rooms are fantastic, the staff are so helpful and friendly and it is great value considering the location. And the all inclusive continental breakfast and wine / cheese tastings are an added bonus. A special mention for Gene, one of the doormen. Very helpful and a very nice guy. My daughter and I enjoyed our 9 night stay at Casablanca and look forward to returning in the not too distant future.

Even though the rooms are dated, the prices are unbeatable for a suite. Staff was very friendly and even went out of their way to accommodate us, without us having to ask. It's a perfect location for Time Square. Went to two shows within walking distance. Not far from the subway. It could be a little congested outside, but that's to be expected in Time Square. Would definitely stay there again.

Central location, great for visiting Manhattan and the staff is nice and collaborative.

So far so good. The rooms are nice and clean, with a decent view. The location is amazing right on the heart of time square. Not please on the parking fees but I do get its a tourist attractions but I feel should be included in my hotel stay fees. But that's nice I do recommend it.

Very happy with my stay at Doubletree. Came down to enjoy a few nights in new york. Was a simple fast check in revived a wonderful cookie and a beautiful clean room. Did not encounter any issues during my stay and the staff was very kind. Located right in the middle of time square made going to a play as well as shopping simple. Will be staying here for sure next time I come to visit!

Excellent hotel. I was upgraded to a King Suite and it was huge. The bathroom was luxurious and well stocked. The decor was impeccable. Great staff as well!

Great value if you want a real suite in Manhattan. Rooms have a full bedroom in addition to a small but comfortable living room. Drapes, carpeting, furniture are looking like they have seen some slightly better times but for the price it still feels like a bargain. However, think carefully about whether you really want to be in the middle of Times Square with your small children… It can be very crowded and hectic literally right outside the front of the hotel, and even walking a couple of blocks to the subway takes a while. Plus, all the restaurants are touristy and crowded. But kids love it.

Hotel very well located, just 50 metres from Times Squeare and the avenues of New york. The attention was very good, had staff who spoke Spanish and were generally very pleasant and helpful. The room that we play was not very big but it was okay, the cleaning was successful as well. If you want to be in the center of New York, this hotel is a good option.

Unbeatable location. A modern room, beautiful and with a great bathroom. The receptionists super friendly. I would repeat without hesitation.

The staff is literally there to serve you. We needed limes. Paged the front desk and buttler was sent for limes, and not 10 minutes later fresh cut limes were at our door, served on a plate, freshly cut, hand delivered with a hand-written thank you note for choosing the Chatwal accompanied with a small box of fine assorted chocolates. There is no better place to stay, the rooms are all well put together and cozy and exactly what you expect in a luxury hotel. Common to spot celebs here all the time. It's a celeb getaway location for sure.

Not too bad. Cheap, feels tacky in a good way. Each room has a gouche mural of a new york neighborhood in it. Pretty weird huh.

My main reason for writing this is the fact they stole money from my currency card. I paid the stay with the card in the beginning of the stay in order to get rid of it and be able to spend the remaining cash during my stay in the city without calculating. Hotel Roosevelt — without notifying me in any way — also reserved around $300 from the card. Reserving is fine itself, but if they would have said they're doing that — I would have used another card. Asked the manager, who agreed to return the money with the instructions received from Mastercard, which she didn't do (that was 3 weeks back). We checked out over 10 days ago and the reserved money is yet to return to my card — and also when emailing them about it, the reply is yet to come. On other aspects: +Location +Price was ok for New York -Rooms are old and the one we had smelled like an old dish rag -Lifts can take up to 15 mins for you to get one you can fit in -For 4 ppl room, you get 2 coffees per day. When asking 1each, you get suspicious questions and get a few cards at a time (we stayed for a week) — Forgotten stuff gets binned. Stayed in another room for 1 night cos we arrived earlier. My friend left her electric toothbrush to the room, which regardless of all the attempts, she didn't get back.

Good hotel, great location and lovely staff. The only disadvantages is Wi-Fi and room somewhat small. Always ask for room on the back of the hotel, the front are a bit noisy.

It is a hotek with very good location, the rooms are very nice, the only thing said is that the elevators take a long time to arrive but the service and the hotel if very well!

Excellent location in the city (near two subway stations), friendly and accomidating staff, clean rooms, design of building and rooms was really neat, had some nice amenities like free coffee/tea and earplugs, really really safe place too (front door locks, each room has several locks). I highly recommend this place.

This in a good area. The attention and cleanliness is good, but it does not have mini-bar this fill with ice for free.

Ultra-small spaces. Two suitcases open at the same time is not possible. But staff, location and price are super!

This very central location next to the central station, a few blocks from times square and one block from the 5 avenue. The room for me was big enough and clean, overall we were just sleeping and a few hours. Your Hall is impressive and very comfortable.

I absolutely loved staying here! The staff is amazing. The rooms are spotless. The bathrooms are shared but super clean. It's quiet… inside the hotel at least. The neighborhood is great. If you're looking for a cozy, clean place; this is it.

This place is amazing value! The room is only small, but everything is spotlessly clean. The shared showers and toilets are also spotless. For the price (half the price of anywhere else near here) I can't recommend it enough! The staff were really nice and really friendly!

The place is not worth the money paid for it. It is a hostel charging a 3 STAR HOTEL PRICE. We paid $170/night for a room with queen size bed that had no ensuite bathroom. Bathrooms are shared with other guests. There are no elevators or bell boys to carry your luggage. It did not look like a place where families or couples would feel comfortable to stay.

We stayed back in October of 2014. Awesome staff and great location. Clean and location in Chelsea was perfect for getting around. Not far from MSG and Times Square. Will be staying here again and again. I am always recommending for friends to stay here, we are excited to see another location being opened in Soho.

My GF and I stayed 13 days at this hostel. It was the best choice we made, actually it was the best hostel we went to. They’re more than a hostel. The place is very clean and the bathroom was always very clean. The room is comfortable and the bed sheets are changed each two days and every day they take off the trash. The location is perfect, near Penn station and there is a Seven-Eleven next to the hostel, so you can get food anytime you want. The owners, Chris and Lea, are very friendly and they’re always happy to help. At night you can count on John and Bow (He’s a very small and beautiful dog) and at weekdays there is Nick. Everyone was nice and very helpful. We loved NYC and we’re sure they have part on it for they agreeable place. The point is if you ask me if I would stay there again, definitely I would. I strongly recommend.

A wonderful price for the location, walking distance to Times Square, Penn Station, or even the Met if you're adventurous. The room was quite small, but very clean — it felt cozy rather than claustrophobic. No breakfast, but good coffee. The owners took time to chat and help us figure out how to navigate the city. We will definitely stay here again if we're ever back in NYC.
