Amazing hotel and great staff. We loved it so much we went 3 times withing 45 days last year. Cant wait to come in august.

Excellent rooms great staff very clean and comfortable with the breakfast.

Opera House is a place to call home! I’m a 1st responder and went through the BIGGER hospital Chain… within 48 hours I was approached by the Hotel Engine guys. The state of New York is paying for housing for all of travelers. I will consider the staff my family-8weeks and counting. I love my Opera House family.

We paid prior to arriving. We were told there was free parking… there is not. The breakfast is just pastries. There is a mandatory $30 amenities fee but there are no amenities, a fact admitted by the front desk. It is a nice looking hotel. But, after unexpectedly paying to park, the additional $30 resort fee was atrocious. Don’t stay here.

A wonderful gem that we took advantage of in a short time. We were in town for a funeral and wanted something that wasn’t the same everywhere you travel to. The price was fair. And the amenities were very good, Staff was friendly and we got to tour the mezzanine.

It's a great hotel family friendly lovely place to stay. The rooms is large plenty of space always clean.

So far we are enjoying the Hotel. It’s clean, smells good, free Wi-Fi and continental breakfast.

The Opera House Hotel is very classy, beautiful and clean.

The Opera House Hotel is a great hotel because of the wonderful staff and interesting hotel history. Our stay was peaceful. Breakfast in the morning is warming. There is unlimited Nestle coffee, hot chocolate, cappuccino, espresso, mocha, as well as a nice assortment of teas all day at the mezzanine.

We booked the Conference Room (Houdini Room) for a workshop and the staff was amazing. The GM, Emilio M, was incredibly helpful from scheduling through to the day of our meeting and checked in on us. Carlos at the front desk treated all of our guests well and made several suggestions regarding amenities. They refer to the Opera House as a gem and it really is a diamond in the rough just minutes away from Manhattan and the Willis/3rd Ave bridges! We’ll be back!

My son and I stayed during his college orientation visit. Very comfortable beds. Free coffee & espresso! Imaculate. Lovely amentities. Will return again soon.

This place sucks and so does their unhelpful staff.

Stayed with our 2 boys, a bit noisy (the area, not Hotel), but beautiful place! Kevin went above and beyond to assist us Country Folk from CT/RI. He was a pleasure!

This hotel is amazing. The location was perfect for me and my girlfriend because we were attending a yankee game. The room was amazing. Very comfortable and clean. The bed was awesome! The complimentary breakfast could have been better but it did the job as far as eating something before we would head out sightseeing.

Loved it! The interior design is gorgeous. I love the nod to its history and old playbills. The room was spacious and comfortable. They are on top of keeping it clean and responsive to your needs. Carlos at the front desk was phenomenal. Very nice and helpful. He went above and beyond for a request we had. My only gripe is there is limited parking. It did not bother me as there is sufficient street parking. I want to address the area. The hotel is in the South Bronx. It is in a shopping district and very busy. At no time did I feel unsafe whether alone or with my partner. As with any area of NYC, be aware of your surroundings. I actually liked that it was busy. The corner stores and restaurants added to the allure. There is no pretentiousness at the hotel or the area.

We just finished a week long stay in New York — originally from Alberta, Canada. The Opera House Hotel is beautiful — black marble floors and counters, high ceilings and effective A/C for hot days. Rooms are clean and daily service is great — we always had fresh towels ready to go. Breakfast service is a bit lean, and a hot buffet and some additional items would be good, but the coffee is tasty and available 24/7. Staff are helpful and the hotel is only 2 minutes from the Subway. My only criticism is the overall location. This hotel is literally a diamond in the rough. The Bronx neighborhood around the hotel is dirty and can be off-putting to tourists. I don't recommend this site to single ladies… but for groups or couples, it's fine. Just be careful at nighttime and keep to yourself. Beautiful hotel. Just wish they were in Chelsea or the Upper East side instead. Thanks again for an enjoyable stay!

The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are large with plenty of plugs for multiple phones and digital devices. Onsite Parking is slim but there is a good parking lot a block away. The price is great for NYC. The neighborhood is rough looking but the people were kind. The Hotel staff was friendly and professional. Highly recommend.

In the spare room moment my friend that I decided to travel really far and couldn't get back home in time. We quickly looked up some hotels in the area and I promise one of the first ones to come up. This hotel was amazing, though we only stayed for 2 days they were very accommodating. They serve awesome breakfast and have a nice little lounging area that my friend and I felt comfortable talking in up until 3 a. M. The staff is really nice and though the area can seem a bit sketchy is pretty easy to order a pizza over there.

Great hotel The room was spacious and very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. Great having breakfast included in the price as well as the 24 hr tea/coffee/lemon water and biscuits. The secure luggage storage area was very useful as I was on an overnight flight. Fantastic value for money. The area does have a bit of a reputation (at least it does here in the UK) but never felt threatened even at night.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating, the building is well-maintained and looks exceptional. Upon finding our room was no longer available, we were given a free upgrade to a better room to host us. More than pleased with the experience.

This hotel was worth every dime and more. The service you get the minute you walk through the door was amazing. The rooms are spacious and quiet. The beds are so comfortable I thought they must be brand new and the showers spotless. What more do you want? I came to town on personal business from Dc and it felt like I was in a Utopia of some sort. I didn’t get a chance to try out their breakfast but the transportation convenience was just as good as the hotel. Definite revisit!

Wow, what a wonderful experience we had at this boutique hotel. The room was spacious and the entire hotel was emaculate. The staff were all extremely friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. We have stayed in hotels that were 2 or 3 times more expensive that did not come close to providing the experience we had here. We will be highly recommending this hotel whenever we hear someone is planning to visit the city.

Anyone who gave this hotel less than 5 is stupid. There’s no decent options in the Bronx so having this gorgeous place is a salvation. It’s on a busy South Bronx street so noise complaints are dumb. It’s the Bronx! Rooms clean and beautiful. Staff on point. Slept great! Anyone complaining about noises from the next room should have just called front desk. I mean this is a hotel, it happens. They even worked with me on check in and out times because of my flights and trains etc.

Immaculate is the first word that comes to mind. Very pleasant, friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Surprisingly quiet. Very convenient for going to Yankee stadium.

Went there to meet a friend from out of town. Nice building in a busy area of the Bronx called the hub. Where the hotel is situated, you can shop for almost anything. If you are not happy with the hotel menu, the hub host a variety of commercial and local restaurants.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here at the end of summer and it was great. Our plane did land at 11 and there was "no rooms" available for us to check into when we got there. They said they would have a room as soon as possible but that ended up being a couple hours later. The morning food served at this hotel was good. And they have a cookies/ tea hour in the afternoon for any late night munchies.

Truly, a Diamond in the Rough! Aside from being updated, very clean and having large rooms, the staff are incredibly professional, caring and devoted to the comfort of their guests. You would NEVER expect a hotel of this caliber to be in the South Bronx! Definitely coming back! Plus it's got wonderful hostoric value!

The hotel was very clean and cozy. The front desk was very nice and always greeted us in and out of the hotel. I would recommend the hotel for others visiting NY.

This is a great hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. Like most other reviews my only negative comment is that it's not in the greatest area. However, there is a Subway entrence very close to the hotel and so it is really easy and quick to get to Manhattan. I definitely recommend this place even if you plan to spend most of the time in Manhattan.

Very comfy hotel. It is clean and still fairly new. Remember there are four parking spots in the back of the hotel. Also, the pictures in the rooms and throughout the hallways show a lot of history. I'm glad I am spending the night here instead of at a typical national chain hotel. Charming hotel.

Helpful and friendly staff made a 3 night stay at the Opera House very pleasant. Front of house personnel Carlos, Jonathan and Myrna were especial helpful. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed and considering the busy location were very quiet. The location was convenient to several subway lines with easy access downtown. I would stay here again when I next visit NYC.

Just stayed here and everything was nice. Very nice size and clean rooms. Bed was comfortable. Check in was easy and fast. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again if I'm in the area. Sink ran out a little slow in the bathroom but that wasn't a big deal.

I m really enjoying my stay (so far) in this fantastic hotel in the Bronx. We've been 2 times b4 in NY, 1st time in Queens was Ok, and 2nd time in the City in hotel Pennsylvania really disliked that despite the great location compared to these 2 hotels this Opera House Hotel is a real gem! Love the "old" touches in this hotel with the decorations like the drawings and paintings. Bathroom is great love the bed and very spacious room. Comfortable, clean and elegant. Excellent service.

Very friendly staff. Rooms are very nice and spacious. The shower was big and the bed was seriously the most comfortable thing I have ever slept on. Parking is limited (3-4 spaces), and the lot is a bit cramped, but there is street parking or a public lot within 5 minutes walking distance. The neighborhood is a bit ominous, but there seemed to be a good police presence and I always felt safe. I would definitely recommend the Opera House Hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Loved the room. The room was a very nice size. Carlos was beyond helpful and very very accommodating. When Carlos was not there, Kevin took excellent care of us as well. Carlos however, went above and beyond to make sure myself and the other members of my bachelor party were well taken care of. Only reason I am giving 4 stars is because of the price, I expected the breakfast to be better. You either had bagels or cereal and only 2 types of cereal's. I have paid $50 bucks a night and have gotten waffles. Also, there wasn't any pools. So with No pools and a not so good breakfast I gave the hotel 4 stars. Another thing I loved was that the hotel allowed NYPD to use there bathrooms so there was always cops in and out. Made me feel safe.

I'm a sucker for great customer service and the staff at Opera House Hotel have exceeded my expectations. Here's the catcher… they've managed to do so BEFORE my actual stay with them! My reservation isn't until next month, but I've so appreciated and have been impressed thus far with their quick turnaround and attentiveness to the couple of concerns/inquires I've had before my trip NY and stay at their establishment. It's apparent that they take pride in making their guests feel welcomed and appreciated before and during their stay. Truly a breath of fresh air this hotel is and although I haven't yet stayed with them, I think it's safe to say that I may have found a new favored hotel to stay at whenever I visit NY. Keep up the excellent job, Opera House Hotel!

Great space, rooms are spacious, staff was mostly helpful. The biggest complaint is there's a gym that is directly behind the hotel. We were on the 3rd floor and it sounded like there was a dance club next to the room. Loud music, people yelling and constant banging was heard in the room until 11pm & started back up at 6am. Because of the gym, we got very little rest. If it wasn't for the very loud noises from the gym, I would've rated it a 5 stars.

Value for money Staff's attention. Breakfast included. Quiet area. Walk to Metro.

What a gem! I absolutely enjoyed my stay at the Opera House Hotel. This place felt like a little oasis in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. The staff was professional, the establishment was very well maintained, and the room was great — spacious, airy and clean… The attention to detail made my experience feel luxurious! The continental breakfast and (although limited) free parking are very nice touches. Staying here on the last night of my lovely trip really helped to put the cherry on top of my visit. Thanks Opera House Hotel! I will defiantly return.

Upscale, great price, close to subway station, modern, clean, cheap parking nearby, and friendly and helpful staff. Friends and I stayed here for Electric Zoo 2016 and it was an easy 30-40 min walk to the venue. We all highly recommend it. The only downsides I could think of were
1. No full length mirror anywhere in the room which was odd and would have been appreciated 2. The only protein the continental breakfast had were hard boiled eggs which was slightly disappointing. Can't be too upset though as it was free These are very minor and I still give it a 5/5. We will definitely be staying here Ezoo 2017!

The room was small, but beautiful. Comfy bed, nice staff, and overall a good stay. On the downside, the breakfast left a lot to be desired and the surrounding area isn't all that great. Thankfully it's only about a block and a half to the nearest subway with a straight shot to Manhattan. Overall a nice place to stay in the city at a great price.

The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was cleaned up while people were still getting food which was annoying. Overall nice hotel. 30 minute walk to Yankee Stadium.

I loved this hotel, I loved the staff — especially Duke and Mr. Egypt, actually everyone was great at this hotel. We stayed 5 days with a large group. Close to the subway. WAS told ahead of time it was very limited parking. Duke told us the BEST places to eat! If I was going back to the Bronx area, I would stay here — the only questionable thing IS the Bronx. I wish every hotel staffers were as wonderful as this group! Thank you for a great trip!

Hotel is very nice. Comfortable beds and great service. Bathroom has nice fixtures and room is good size. Newer Samsung LED TV. Neighborhood is not so great.

We spent 11 nights in this hotel in April 2016. It is a very nice hotel, very well maintained rooms and bathrooms spacious. The breakfast is ok and included in the price of the room. The metro is 2 minutes away on foot and serves Times square in about 40 minutes. The staff is quite friendly. Big downside for us : the gym located in the same building ; the music is background from 5am to 23pm. I was awakened each morning by the sound of the music, the sound of weight weight and people that speak (and I do not have a light sleep). If you pay 1600€, we hope to at least sleep properly… which was not the case for me! In addition, the Wi-Fi is for a fee, we requested by email before our arrival to have a commercial gesture because of the duration of our stay but our request has remained without response. Our stay could have been perfect without this gym… in short, the hotel in itself is beautiful but sleep would have been the minimum!

You'll be shocked when you open the front door. Great service, cheap nearby parking, and a good Peruvian restaurant nearby. Great place to stay if youre visiting but its in a very odd location.

This was my first time staying overnight in New York great choice clean close to a lot of thing. Breakfast was awesome next door to crunch gym.

Horrible service, julio the manager is rude and unaccomidating. Housekeeping never comes when we call. Not very welcoming either. I will never stay here again. Don't come here!

The Opera House located in the heart of the SoBro district brings added luxury to Third avenue and its shopping and eating establishments.

The Opera House Hotel is a favorite quick getaway without having to getaway. Located in the South Bronx it is a hidden jewel. The history of the building is that it was an actual Opera House and each room and the hallways have pictures of the history of the Opera House and neighborhood. The rooms are very spacious for a NYC hotel room and well appointed.

Nice hotel in decentralized position from Manattan far enough to save approximately a 30%. Well served by the metro 2 and 5. Friendly staff, clean spacious rooms, including breakfast.
Recommended.

The first luxury boutique hotel in The Bronx is by far the best hotel in our borough. You get twice the space at half the prices for comparable luxury in Manhattan and you're a block from the subway station which takes you to Museum Mile on the Upper East Side of Manhattan within 12 minutes or stay and enjoy all The Bronx has to offer. Service is impeccable as is the decor.

Know how much x a night of 5 hours.

This hotel is great! 5 star hotel in the "boggie down bronx" staff is friendly rooms are nice sized with a good decor.

The actual hotel and staff are 5 stars! BUT… The neighborhood is a little too sketchy for my taste. It is close to the subway station (train), we had a great time and the local people are very nice but we spent way too much time on the subway and you can't really walk around and enjoy the area because it's dirty and the stores aren't anything I'm interested in. Plus the cab drivers that they call charge $50 to take you back to LaGuardia airport when it only cost us $34 to get there using the yellow cabs. If they cleaned up the area it would be a great little find. But then again, once the area was cleaned up it will be just as expensive as all the others.

Excellent hotel, courteous staff, very clean and comfortable rooms, very close to the 2 and 5 trains, close to LGA. Quiet and safe neighborhood with excellent food choices From LaGuardia, taking M60 bus to the 5 train at 125/Lex is the cheapest way or Uber is very reasonable if you must use a car (around $27-30). I stayed here twice within a two month period and was extremely satisfied during both stays. If you are visiting, this would also be an excellent hotel due to the crazy amount of space in the rooms for 1/3 the price of staying in Manhattan in the summer. Breakfast has excellent choices (for a continental breakfast) and 24x7 coffee, tea, espresso is a plus. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Great Customer Service! Duke is the best concierge… Hotel is very very clean and nice. I will be staying at the opera house on my next visit to New York. The only CON is that the website indicates parking, there is only 3 parking spaces and 1 handicap space. Duke was nice enough to give us directions to the nearest parking lot that charged $14 for 24 hours. I’m glad I found this hidden gem right in the Bronx.

Great customer service, very clean and modern boutique hotel. Carlos was exceptional! Definitely a "diamond in the rough". Tough neighborhood and parking garage only has a few spots but its an oasis once you go in. Felt safe and comfortable and for what you get, very affordable. Will visit there again when we visit Bronx Zoo, Stadium and Arthur Ave. And NYC is only a 20 minute car ride.

Staff service, breakfast and room layout/cleanliness/comfort are crazy AMAZING for the price. The only downside is that transportation might be hard to come by — coming from JFK airport, only private shuttles provide service to this hotel. Major shuttles like SuperShuttle and even most yellow cabs refused to bring us to the hotel. Regarding the certain stereotype about the Bronx community, as long as you're traveling in a small group, there should be little reason for you to worry about your safety. Common sense measures apply, like don't flaunt your jewelry, etc.

The area is not the best, but such as had never been afraid that something might happen. To the subway it is only a few minutes. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was very, very hard. Very many German speaking guests.

I absolutely love my stay there! The staffs are really friendly and helpful. They really go the extra miles to assist me. My rental car got towed while I was in NYC and in order to get it back, I need to show my rental agreement. Unfortunately, I left the agreement in my room and the impound office is far away from my hotel. I called the front desk at opera house hotel, and the staff (Manny) located the agreement in my room and fax it over immediately. I am so thankful for the help! I highly recommend the hotel to anyone planning a trip NYC.

This hotel was simply marvelous. Very clean, room service was always keeping our place nice and tidy. Friendly staff that always greeted us as we came back from our city adventures, and complimentary breakfast with coffee and tea available all day. I truly enjoyed my stay here and would happily recommend any of my family or friends to stay here when visiting NY. Subway was less then a minute walk away and staying in the Bronx helped us save money but also we were so close to the city that it was very convenient. 5 star hotel all the way around.

My family and I stayed here last week for 4 days. We couldn't have been happier. I was a little apprehensive about the neighborhood after reading the reviews, but after checking in, I saw that it is just a working class neighborhood with a plethora of cultures within it. I find diversity a beautiful thing, and not "scary" in the least. The staff was great, the breakfast was plentiful, housekeeping did a great job, our room was spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 teenagers, and they have great cable for late at night when you finally get a breather from the city. We will be staying here again.

Spent there two days in December. It's clean and comfortable. Personnel is very friendly and helpful. Neighborhood seemed not very safe, but I used a car, so did not have a chance to "interact" with locals. Highly recommend it.

This hotel has made one of my top favorite hotels in the world. Literally. And yes, I've traveled all over the world, stayed in some of the best hotels and this one was absolutely fabulous. The neighborhood is not that great and parking is limited. But when it comes to New York City, you have no business using a car in the first place, so I totally get it. The staff was delightul and I enjoyed every interaction with them, day and late night. The room, dreamy and the bed was so comfortable, I didn't toss and turn not once! Everything was super clean and modern, and their proximity to the train station and Manhattan was spot on. I was able to get to Times Square in less than 20 minutes and Central Park in about 10 on a WEEKEND. After all was said and done, I kind of felt guilty for paying the price I did. I would've paid more.
