They wait to you show up and up the price because you have no where else to go. Charge you one price over the phone and change the price in person. Do not recommend. Also you have shared bathrooms and showers, no kitchen so eat before you come… rooms are small and the sheets had hair on them. They neighbor next door you can hear them having sex (walls are super than) plus you can hear everything outside very loud.

Nice place. If you dont have a budget of 200/300 dollars per night. Very quiet y curios neigbourhood.

I really liked the space. It was sparsely but smartly decorated. The colors used throughout were cool grays and blues. There was not a thing that you wouldn’t use there (no art or unnecessary decoration). There were also extremely nice and simple wooden drawers and other holding nooks that hung off the walls. The bed was super comfortable. There was Netflix included and you could login to Amazon. The lights were a bright white, but if you wanted to, you could turn on a night light next to the bed by touch. The bathrooms and showers were two different rooms. The showers were made out of greyish marble, and although small, were extremely comfortable to shower in. The bathrooms likewise had that greyish marble, and two different lights you could use (the overall ones that come on with air conditioner and the ones on top of the mirrors). Overall, this was a fantastic experience. Great decorations. The entrance and the booking room need a lot of work (seems like they are still giving the space they have finishing touches), but don’t let that discourage you from booking here.

Okay. I stopped here, a visit by myself because I was recovering from surgery and needed a place away from home. Reasons I picked Morris Guest House? It’s in the neighborhood, close to home, and most especially the pictures of the rooms and the price tagged along with it where the best around. The rooms are very nice. You can expect to hear sexual activity from the rooms nearby. So your room isn’t exactly soundproof, you will hear conversations from the next door, the tv, any music their playing, etc. This didn’t bother me I was here just to recover and for a short time. The noises weren’t loud to the point I wanted to leave. It could be something you might consider. Bathrooms are shared along the hall. And overall the guest house has a very modern look and you can tell it’s been recently renovated due to the old style look the home gives from the exterior. If you need to make a quick stop in the neighborhood of Morris-Burnside, I would recommend it but keep in mind the few things I had mentioned. One thing they should work on and by far the most disappointing is not having a phone number guests can call anytime just in case there’s any issues. Yes there is surveillance cameras in the entire house but if you don’t have a person on shift 24/7 at least provide a number they can contact just in case there’s any issues. I almost got locked out my room and another guest had to help me open my door.

Only one guy is nice here NOT the bald headed one he is very UNPROFESSIONAL knocking on my door at 10:45 am talking about "You better not have another person in there you only paid for one guest" in Spanish of course cause he's English isn't very good, to the point that I texted him a request prim to check in and he agreed to it only to then say I NEVER MENTIONED ANYTHING LIKE THAT! Very embarrassing for Me. I had to change rooms cause of so much dust in the room Rooms are tiny and not well ventilated In the middle of the night there was a HUGE argument between a couple in the room across from me it was very disturbing.

It felt very roomy at home experience. Will book again!

There is no heating, the bathrooms are not very hygienic, the TV does not work properly, the bathrooms in the hallways with camera.

Completely nightmare! Don‘t choose this place unless you want your credit card information stolen! The lady checked me in asked for my ID and my credit card to verify my information. Probably because my foreign passport made she think I was an ignorant traveler and could hardly speak English, she secretly SCANED THE BOTH SIDES OF MY CREDIT CARD! After I found out, she lied and said that she wasn’t scanning anything, just “copying” my room instruction. Later she admitted that she did scanned the card but only the front which made it no better because it’s a common sense sometimes you can make online purchases with card number and expiration date. Other terrible facts about this place: 1. There wasn’t a single sign outside the building. 2. They were undergoing a refurbishment which made paints and cardboards everywhere. 3. The bed was hard as wood. 4. Terrible at sound isolation, I could hear people talking next door and in the hallway loud and clear at night. 5. No mirror in either room of shared bathroom. Inconvenience for women. I am not a picky person, I stayed in many hostels before and I liked them. But this one was a nightmare!

This place is wonderful… I actually wish I would have known about it sooner… the staff is very pleasant and the room is marvelous… I like the way the set up of the room is it’s very modern and the bed lord have mercy lol… the bed is so comfortable it’s literally hard to get out of the bed lol… and the place is very affordable and the street it’s on is very nice and quiet… you will forget that you are in the Bronx lol… this is definitely my new get away spot.

The staff here are very friendly. And the bathrooms new and rooms decent sized, I loved that the place has lots of cameras. I will definitely come back!

If your looking for a place that will meet your needs than don't hesitate to stay at the Morris guest house. I had the best experience. Surprisingly this place is very quiet and super affordable. I love the convenience of transportation because I don't have a car right now. Also the staff is very helpful and polite which is a major plus.

You just wont find a better place or a better deal in the Bronx. Rooms are super clean, Bathrooms are sparkles clean and the Beds are So comfortable.

I really love the nights I've spent here. The staff is super friendly, the other guests I've encountered were friendly too. It's a great place to stay at, don't be scared to take advantage of their kitchen but make sure to clean up, of course.

Great price, close to the train station.

This place is very messed up guys trust me it's not worth the stress. It looks beautiful in pictures but not until you get there with their dirty looking bathroom and bad management. I got there couldn't even breathe properly decided to cancel for the 3 nights I booked for they charged me for the 3 nights and also charged extra $50 up till now they won't return any money to me. It's not a place to be.

My overall experience was good, but there are a few things I was annoyed with first of all I didn't like the fact that we had to share a bathroom with the whole first floor. Secondly, the shower was so slippery I fell (I'm okay, no injuries) and the room was very small. The customer service was very good they are very understanding and nice very affordable. I would recommend this place to people I just think they should make a few adjustments to the place.

The thing is that aquerosa of NYC AND the staff more incompentete as I have ever seen … robbed me of 700$ dollars and garantiso that 100pre going to be living among rats and cockroaches for what they are… this is a crack house in the bronx.

It is a fraud. Never try it. They will just steal your money.

Racist against Black ppl the receptionist will overcharge you so that your card will will decline need Better Customer service.

Very friendly, cheap and close to the Subway. The Bronx was an interesting and far safer area than we expected.

Is good according to the place. Everything is clean and there's a lot of restaurants around. There's a subway station near too. The only trouble that we have was that they give us our room about 40min after the agreed time.

This place is my get away and I stay in the neighborhood about 3 stops away on the 4 line. Its quiet, comfortable and the best of the basics. Its a wonderful price for a wonderful night away from noise. I recommend you bring your GF or BF.

Me and my mom like it. It was a place to chill for the night on weekend getaway plus there was a bodiga right around the corner and bus stop to nice time and good memories with mom dukes ♡

The Morris Guest House, is one of the BEST stays in the BX! The staff is super-friendly and helpful. The rooms clean and crisp. The street is nice middle class and great to sit outside and have morning coffee.
Even though the bathroom is shared, it was always available and VERY clean. The subway is very close by and parking only costs $20 for 24 hours.
I highly recommend this place if you want to save a ton of money on your next NYC stay.

Cannot overstate how great this place was. Very affordable (we paid $410, taxes included, for 2 beds and 4 nights). Rooms were clean, never waited for the bathroom/shower and staff was extremely polite/accommodating (printing tickets/working around our late arrival). Relatively quiet neighborhood, conveniently located (~2 minute walk) near two subway stations. Takes about 20-25 minutes to get to midtown. If you're going to New York, you're not spending your trip in Times Square. Save your cash, stay here, and take the subway to your first stop of the day. Will definitely stay here again.

I called last week making sure all my information was up to date cuz I thought I'd still pay after I touchdown 2/27/2015 lady was like its paid for so I gotta let them know dat I have reservations for me an my gf my gf lives there I don't.

Affordable and nice place, if you don't want to spend a fortune on a hotel.

Danelle, Carmen and Junior did their best to accommodate all their visitors. I was pleasantly surprised to see returning guests from previous years being called by name. The staff was attentive, kind and kept the place CLEAN! Love that! The food bought and kept in the kitchen remained untampered and the sink clean. Bring extra toiletries and your own pillow (or buy one), but other than that, Morris Guest House was far more affordable for a basic, extended stay in NYC. … The 4 and D train are each two very short blocks from the house, and a diner (which was tasty, by the way) was also a short walk, as were convenience stores, a cleaner and barber/salon shops. For groceries, we — my husband joined me half way through my stay — grocery shopped in Midtown, which was about a 35min train/20min taxi ride. Some folks may be put off that the guest house isn't in an upscale neighborhood, but I felt as I was living among with 'everyday' people, so it was perfect! I never thought I'd stay in a rooming house in the US. However, paying typical hotel prices for well over a week in NYC was not an option — especially with graduation season right around the corner, and I've got 3! So, THANK YOU, Morris Guest House, for meeting my needs and taking care of me!

Clean, affordable rooms in a newly refurbished brownstone. Not much in the way of furnishings or fancy amenities, but if you just need a clean, safe place to crash, this may be the best deal in the city. Shared bathroom (very clean) and kitchen facilities.
