The Blue Water Inn was just lovely. The rooms are generously sized for the era in which the building was built, although water temperature is rather inconsistent at times. But, I found my favorite place in all of Ocean City, NJ. The wrap around second floor porch is amazing. I could sit there with a book and enjoy the breeze forever. Thank you for the lovely stay.

Support staff is very friendly and accommodating, as we arrived much earlier than initially expected. The location is just a few short blocks from the boardwalk and beach, and just outside is plenty of food options and treats. The room was okay, cleaned adequately and had fresh linens. We were provided basic toiletries. The bathroom is quite small and the shower has almost no water pressure. Surely in need of an update. The next morning there was a continental breakfast which was kept well. During your stay you can put a $20 hold for beach tags (each). Upon return you receive your $20 back. Beats paying $5 per day if you don't plan on making a return trip.

1 block away from boardwalk. Good location. The staff was friendly but the place was not what I expected. I had to climb 3 flights of stairs to our room which was very small held 2 full size beds. The bathroom was small as well. It was clean but had a weird smell to it. The bed was comfortable and clean. The room had a microwave and a mini fridge. The TV was a little computer screen on a high shelf against the wall. The pool is across the lot behind the building in an awkward location. I did not bother even getting in. Wi-Fi is available, get password in front desk. Complimentary breakfast consisted of fresh bagels, mibi muffins and 3 assortment of cereal, cofee, milk, and juice included. You only get 1 parking permit per room. So if you have other guests that drive, they have to park 1 block away where there are no meters. Or pay $20 for 24hrs on self pay at the end of block near boardwalk. I enjoyed sitting on their lobby balcony. Overall, my stay was comfortable and convenient.

The room is comfortable. The shower is quite small. Overall though, staff was fantastic! They made sure we we're comfortable and we're extremely friendly. Location is perfect. I, personally, have no problem with the rooms. I would definitely come back!

DO NOT GO HERE! & we booked a 'mini suit' *ha! * more like Mini HELL! I didn't get photos of the night, which was Awful, when the ceiling tiles would get sucked up because of the wind & bang back down into place, ALL NIGHT! (Literally thought we were Not going to be okay, that they'd fall) Worst part? When we put the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on our door & they Came In our room! Not only that, they moved the breathing machine & meds that were in it, causing liquid to get in & mess up the machine (Yea, I'm sure you can imagine how unsafe that is for someone with a Breathing Problem! ) That's absolutely DISGUSTING! The bathroom was nasty; shower separating from the wall, inside of shower covered in a thousand layers of paint making even washing things off difficult, & the scum/mold all over! Ew! The bathroom door didn't close, & they had just left medal hanging out of the door, from handles that used to work. I will be sure to let Everyone Know how BAD this place is! Even if just One person sees this, & doesn't go there, I've done my part!

The worst experience ever. Shower broken: took four people to actually turn it off. Lightbulb out in one of the bathrooms, so they brought a dirty old ladder up to the room and somebody had to fix it. There were bugs in the bathrooms. The showers were disgustingly dirty. Despite an elderly family member, we had to walk up three flights our room — No elevators, of course. The first receptionist was nice, but the minute we asked for a refund for the second night, they turned hostile. Don't even think about this one.

The staff were very nice and I suppose the location was great for the price for a random trip! However, our room was uncomfortable. White walls everywhere, tiny TV weaker than an old pc monitor (not a big deal for me though), and the bathroom; Oh jeez. Bathroom was VERY tight, smelled unpleasant, and the shower was, well, not a clean looking shower. The room had a renovated closed vibe. The air seemed thick, making it slightly harder breathe in the room, but not awfully. It was place to crash.

I had a one night stay here (room 33) with my son (9 yrs old) in late July 2017. The staff was courteous upon our arrival (approx 11:30AM). Even though check in wasn't until 3:00, they gave me a parking pass and beach tag to use for the day. They also pointed me to the changing room so we could get into our bathing suits. After spending the day at the beach, we checked in around 5:30. Our room was fine. 2 Double beds. Clean. Comfortable. Small TV on the wall. Shower stall was fine (its not a full bathtub). This place is not the Ritz. If that's what you are accustomed to then you will be disappointed. But it was fine to crash for a night and one of the few places in OCNJ that allow 1 night stays. Would I stay again? Yes.

Wonderful service. Rooms are very clean but bathrooms are small. Pool is not clean. I feel like I'm swimming cholrine. My eyes burn from the pool. Tastes like copper. Free breakfast as well.

The room was very small and the bathroom was a bit dingy but it was neat, fairly clean, and comfortable for one night. It's only a block and a half to the boardwalk. Plenty of restaurants near by and an ice cream shop across the street! They seem to be d I ING renovations since our carpet and bed were new so I'm hoping the rest will follow. This place is in the best location and great for a weekend getaway.

Very small and quaint but was good since we were only in there to sleep and spent most of our day at the beach and on the boardwalk! The shower was very small and alternated between hot and cold water. But it had really good muffins for breakfast.

We booked a room on a spur of the moment trip. The rooms were Spartan but CLEAN-surprising for peak season rates. The staff is ultra friendly and helpful! Maria Mahela was an absolute dream. They have a free breakfast and lemonade and cookies in the afternoon. The proximity to the beach and boardwalk is perfect-less than a five minute walk and far enough away to be a quiet location. Great find!

It was amazing for the price and location. 2 blocks from the boardwalk and beach. The rooms were clean and the porch a nice addition. It was perfect for what I wanted. I say, if you are on a budget and want a nice place to stay. The blue water inn is it.

I have never written a review on a place I have stayed but I could not just let this one go. It is terrible, they provide misleading information on the descriptions of the inn and what it offers. To begin the front steps are steep and go to the second floor entrance, this was very hard for my 66 year old mother to handle. There is no elevator so you have to carry everything up stairs to your room, they dont even offer to help. Then when we got to our floor (the third floor) and walked down the hallway I could feel that the floor wasn't completely level! To make matters worse the room was a total slap in the face. Upon opening the littled or I had to open it all the way just so I coul get into the room! The door skims the bed blanket as it opens and there is a dresser to your left when the door opens (theres roughly 2 1/2 walking room between the foot of the beds and the dresser! The other bed is about 2 feet away from the first and against the wall. There is no closet, the bathroom door didn't stay closed, the lock on it was busted (hoyel staff said to put the bathroom trash can against it so ot would stay closed), the sink faucet was broken so it moved an inch or two when you turned it on, the mini fridge was broken so all of our food went bad and there was a tiny ac unit hanging in the window so both nights that we stayed and it rained whoever slept in that bed got wet because there was no insulation aroumd the unit!

Stayed at the Blue Water inn last year and had a great time. Large wrap around porch and close to beach, boardwalk and shopping. Nice people, parking and good value. Older, clean building.

I see other reviews stating there isn't a pool. I guess they didn't look too hard. Pool is out back in parking lot. It is shared with their other property. Front stairs are a bit steep going in so we started staying at Ocean Breeze. Maybe the others didn't realize this wasn't the Four Seasons, check the price. Like the fact I only need to go downstairs for coffee.

Yes the blue water in is older that's what makes it so unique. It's in the historical district of Ocean City some things need to stay original. If you're looking for high end Hotel Pass … Blue water inn. Is a comfortable laid back like ur "great aunt Edna's house " look and feel. It is as clean as it could be for being so old. The Porch is fabulous for sitting and relaxing. Its close to everything downtown. We love it!

TERRIBLE EVERYTHING! Don't bother spending your money here unless you want disappointment! This place is terrible in every way — their staff is incompetent and know nothing of the hotel. The rooms themselves are disgusting and horrible; My friends and I got 3 adjoining rooms which were all super tiny. One bed had sand in it (proving they don't change the sheets) and there was garbage in one of the dressers! The one toilet we had (for 3 rooms/6 people! ) also would only work every 3 hours or so which was a total pain. They say free breakfast but in the mornings that I was there, there was nothing out to eat. All the pictures they advertise are out of date as they do not have an actual kitchen/cafe nor do they even have a pool! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE UNDER 21! They WILL take advantage of you as they took advantage of me. My reservation was 3 weeks ago and I STILL have not received my security deposit of $300! These people are scam artists — — do not give them your money.

Absolutely horrible. The room is tiny, dirty and the bathroom is plain scary. We waited twenty minutes for someone to come check us in. If the rooms are so varied here, I still wouldn't come, on the chance that I would get this one again.

Actually the pictures aren't outdated. We've stayed there 2 years before and this year we're staying there. Not every room is the same, thats why it may seem not exactly the same. The rooms on the lobby floor are the largest. Infact the largest room they have is actually like an apartment, with two family rooms and a kitchen, and a large table, with 3 bedrooms, and accessable form the deck.

We visited Ocean City and stayed at the Blue Water. Close to the boardwalk. Im not sure about some of the other reviews but the beds were new and rooms were clean. Staff was helpful and there was an included breakfast which is easy for a family. We stayed summer of 2013 if that helps. We would recommend to friends.

Just returned for 3 days at the Blue Water Inn. It was very clean. I think it did look like the picture. The rooms are small but then my husband and I went to spend time on the beach not sitting an a room. They have a lovely awning covered balcony to sit on and a sitting area in the lobby. Breakfast was choice of 3 different cereals or bagels. Truly felt for the low price we paid it was worth it. The staff was very friendly, helpful and we chatted every day. We would stay there again.

I just recently stayed here for a few days. Previous reviewer is correct, the pictures on their website are very deceiving. The room we had was very small, and you could hear everything going on around you. There were kids running the front desk, I don't think we saw an adult on premises the whole 5 days we stayed. The daily "breakfast" was a joke. We chose to eat elsewhere. Having to walk up and down those narrow steps to get into the building was very scary, especially since an air conditioner up above was dripping/leaking all over the one side of the staircase, making it very slippery and very dangerous. They offer "free beach tags", but at a $20 deposit for each tag. Upon checking out, we were told something happened to the deposit money. I was thinking I paid cash, not a check so what was the problem? The kid explained that the deposit money went missing! Missing?!?!?! So, now I'm out $40 for my "Free" beach tags. They claim they will issue a refund by check in the mail. We shall see. Very very disappointed with this place. Don't believe what you see in their website, just because it looks nice in pictures, doesn't mean it still looks that way. I'll be awaiting my refund.

Just stayed there labor day 2012. What a rip off of a place. The pictures on their website are nothing like it really looks like. Pictures are from 20 years ago. They say free breakfast, waffles, cereal, coffee, juice. There is no breakfast in fact the counter where the person checks you in was closed during breakfast cause obviously they do have breakfast and did not want all the questions being asked to the front desk person. pictures show a pool. There is no pool. Pictures show a nice clean modern place. It was dirty and old. Flea bag motel for sure. would never stay there again. Would not recommend it to anyone.

This place sucks! The $150 room is very outdated. The dumpster found bed is very uncomfortable, the outlets are loose and falling apart, the pipes are exposed in the bathroom. The water from the tiny shower leaks all over the floor, no extra towels to dry your hands, parking is a total joke! Get there early or you have to park off site. Don't waist your time here. Not to mention it is 3 blocks from the beach, NOT 1 and 1/2. Total scam artists here.
