Perfect location! Quick Uber, Jitney or golf cart ride to boats, quick walk to the beach and tons to see.

Love this historic hotel! they answered all our questions and even helped me and my husband with a lock and an engraver for the love locks garden! amazing! and the ocean is a walk across the street how can u beat it.

We only stayed one night but the hotel was very charming and the front desk agent was helpful and friendly.

Excellent experience here felt like Family. EVERYONE was so sweet and helpful! Close to everything — we walked almost everywhere. Across the street from the beach. Beautiful front porch met lots of wonderful new friends there—talked for hours. No elevator but that is part of the charm of a Victorian home. Will be back and next time will book directly.

If you choices I do not recommend this place at all! pay the extra money and stay at one of the other facilities. It’s just not one thing there are multiple downers about this place. The only great thing about it is how close it is to walking to the beach and other places. A place should make you feel at home away from home and this place does not have that feel.

We spent Mother’s Day weekend here for the 2nd year in a row. Great location, friendly staff. Clean rooms and comfortable beds.

We chose Hotel Macomber to celebrate our anniversary weekend. The staff was so nice and accommodating. When we checked in, they saw that we were there for our anniversary and signed a copy of the Cool Cape May book as a gift. That was so thoughtful. The Bagel Time Cafe was also very good and the staff there was very nice. Hope to be back soon! Thanks again for everything!

We ate at the Union Park Dining room. The was a little pricey, but excellent. Definitely worth it and we will be going back.

Fabulous view of the ocean beach and boardwalk from our top floor large front room. Very nice staff, and comgortable, clean room. They recycle bottles, cans and paper from your trash, and did not replace towels unless you put them on the floor. They only change your sheets every third day which shows their dedication to taking care of the environment. A nice bagel/coffee cafe next door which was handy for an iced coffee to take on our morning beach walk. We would go there again.

Very cute Victorian rooms with private bathroom. Ours had a huge shower! The front desk staff is very friendly. Bed is comfy enough. A lot of reviews complained about noise from the arcade across the street but I didn't notice it at all. The old downside was the room did kind of had a strange smell. It wasn't an overly bad smell. Just very noticeable. It smells powdery like an elderly persons bathroom. But it is not bad and I would stay here again despite it. The room was also very clean.

We loved this great, old hotel! Great prices, right on the beach, and a phenomenal front porch to sit and read in the ocean breeze. Great stay!

Was about $150 a night for a beautiful room with two beds. Everything felt clean and fresh despite being in a historical and antique hotel. We have a three year old and was concerned about not having the pool and if we would be frowned down on for bringing a rambunctious little boy to this type of hotel, but everyone was super nice and helpful. We forgot our umbrella and the woman at front desk literally gave us hers for the day! Location was perfect, and we didn't try restaurant on first floor of hotel, but we plan on it when we stay at Hotel Macomber again next year. Thanks for a great stay!

The mattress was hard. We turned it over and it was softer. I don't know why the what seemed to be the bottom side was on top. But the mattress was more tolerable after my husband and l turned it over. Otherwise the room was nice.

Very clean hotel and super nice staff.

Called the front desk, after going down there 3 times and noone was around to ask about the AC in the room. I was told it wont come on, untill the temp outside goes up? So, im sweating and I cant turn on the AC?
Woman on the phone said, " nothing I can do, its called mother nature, open the windows! "
Really? You give me a bitchy attitude?
I guess you have alot to learn about customer relations!
Won't be coming back!

Cute little place, but doesn't have an elevator, we were on the top floor, very annoying.

An amazing dinner. Me and my family had Thanksgiving here. The service and food were amazing.

We had an amazing stay at the this beautiful hotel. Our room was on the third floor room 38. It was fantastic. Super clean decorated lovely. Beds were very comfortable. Very impressed with housekeeping service. Upon our arrival we were greeted very graciously! We had great recommendations from Crystal. We went to the winery and took a trolly tour around town. Learned so much about the Victorian style homes and the history of this quaint town. We had great bagels in the morning from Bagel Time and enjoyed rocking on the front porch and reading the morning paper. I️ loved that we were on the third floor. We did not mind the steps great exercise and a great view. I️ would highly recommend staying on the top floor. I️ will definitely return and hope the 3rd floor is available.

We visit for the Union park restaurant which is a upscale dining experience the location of this hotel is very convenient.

It was a very disappointing stay at the Hotel Macomber. There are so many choices in Cape May that I would never consider this hotel again. The housekeeping "forgot" to make the room the next day. The man at the front desk was very disinterested in general, never smiling or talking and genuinely seemed like he would rather be anywhere else but behind the desk. He had extremely poor customer service skills, that was very clear. The shower was from medieval times. It was big enough for you to stand with almost no room at all. Overall the lowest rating I can give here is one star, if there was an option for zero stars I would give it.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Macomber. Reasonably priced, and located in the heart of town, this place is comfortable and elegant. Our room was very clean, and the bed was super comfortable. We had a great time there!

Great location and beautifully decorated however hallways had several dehumidifiers throughout each floor. Our room was very musty and had dampness. So did our friends that stayed next to ours. All out clothes smelled when we got home as well. Plus it's probably not very healthy. Wouldn't stay again.

I grew up in this hotel. Been going there since I was an embryo and I'm almost 58 years old now. This is the last true classic hotel left in Cape May. Not only is it incredibly reasonable but extremely convenient and in the best location directly across from the Boardwalk. Over the decades I have watched everything around this Landmark Hotel disappear… The Christian Admiral, the playground that was turned into a mini-putt, Sids Tavern which is now Carneys, Convention hall — TWICE, The "Top of the Marq" restaurant and now Morrows Nut House : (There was no "Mall" when I was a child. There was only The Ugly Mug and the Pilot House! The Macomber is a true gem and the single surviving element of the real Cape May! The sounds of the Arcade during the evening keep it even more real for me. If you're lucky enough to stay at the Macomber, please don't complain about the beds being hard. You can always just stay home in that case. Stay Real Macomber and I'll always be back! Love ya!

The hotel has a pretty special look and feel to it. It is very old fashioned, but clean. No breakfast or coffe included, but there is a great Bagel shop right below the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially the lady that checked us in took a lot of time explaining the area and the best places around.

The staff when I checked in was a male. Not very informative. Found that out after the lady in the morning checked another guest in. She was very informative and friendly. Parking spots in the back numbered. After going back in and asking where my assigned number was I was informed that I could park anywhere. This could have been avoided if male staff would have told me that instead of driving around block 3 times. No staff there at night. Man was there for a little while but when coming back at 930pm, the office desk was empty. Lady had injured her ankle and was being assisted by her husband and young daughter down the stairs in which she was in so much pain she was sliding on her butt down the front stairs. Would have been nice to see hotel staff there to help her. None on site. Was not informed of ice machine on first floor nor given coupon to eat in restaurant in the hotel… which website said we would get. Room was Victorian. Very nice for ocean view and location was good for hitting all the shops by foot. Arcade in from of hotel was noisy into the night. Would be ok if the windows were shut. Bed was a hard. Left at 530am. No staff there to take key but did leave a drop box for keys. Staying here served the purpose… which was to sleep.

Gracious and still full of character, clean, nice bathroom. Convenient to beach. Great food. Adds a bit of Elegance to a beach stay. Single minus is no elevator. Still an excellent value!

Would recommend anyone to stay here. Pleasant staff!

The food and atmosphere were fantastic.

Great historic hotel, reasonably priced, and right across the road from a beach access, ice cream, arcade for the kids, and walking and biking path. Great breafast place on site. Loved it!

It is a fabulous place to stay… It is an old Inn, but it is clean and the staff is exceptionally friendly! We come on a yearly basis, as a group and rent the second floor so we have the porch, both sides. It wouldn't be a cape may stay if we didn't stay at the Macomber! The bottom front porch is always filled with friendly people who are willing to jump in any conversation, in the atmosphere is just marvelous!

Quaint and unassuming. Had all the amenities we needed for Memorial Day weekend. Historic and regal feeling. Beds were a bit stiff though.

Most relaxed I've ever been.

After my stay at Macomber someone walking on street outside asked how it was. The obvious is that it has decent views. The not so obvious is the whack-a-mole game right in front of the hotel that echoes into the night extremely loud with a mole yelling ouch over and over and over. The low review though is because the rooms are very dated, small, and smell bad. I visited the Virginia, and Congress Hall and there has been an effort to update the interiors. Those hotels have no smell at all. This place needs updating bad. Please update the rugs. They smell. Curtains and Bedding too.

This is a beautiful, charming historic hotel in the heart of Cape May. The staff always welcomed you with a smile and couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. The rooms are beautifully appointed and very comfortable. It's also a great value for the money. This hotel was a delight to stay in. An awesome hotel in a perfect location. Highly recommended.

Wonderful place to stay if you come and visit Cape May. Ghost tour and bike rentals. Pretty rooms, attentive staff, good food at Union Park and right on the beach.

Let me begin by saying that I have been to Cape May countless times over the last twenty years, including several stays at the Hotel Macomber, although the last one was several years ago. I do not know if the hotel has changed ownership or just management, but this was far and away my worst experience with a hotel in Cape May, and among my worst stays ever, anywhere. That includes a stay at a Howard Johnson where the lampshade was loose and caught on fire, and my room burst into flames while I was in the shower. But I digress. Night one: We were unable to sleep due to incessant noise from the room above. Granted, people have children, but when they are noisy to the point of keeping other guests awake all night, it is the responsibility of the hotel to step in and say something to the occupants. We had already expressed a concern about this BEFORE retiring for the evening, and were told not to worry, it would be "taken care of". Day two: after complaining we were unable to sleep the night before, we are told first that there are no other rooms available for them to move us into, and then that there are two vacant rooms, but that they can't move us into either of them because they're more expensive and they might rent them out to someone else. This was the last night of a two night stay. Finally, after threatening to dispute the charge with our credit card company, we were given a larger, nicer room, that did in fact appear to be in a more quiet area of the hotel.

We had our entire wedding party stay at Hotel Macomber along with extended family and friends and every one of us were extremely pleased. We had a total of 10 rooms reserved, which a total of about 20 people that all concurred that it was a great place. We also had booked room at the Grand Hotel for days after our wedding and ended up coming back to Hotel Macomber because we were so impressed. Bob and his wife (Owners) are both delightful and give their guests 110% attention and care. I had expressed to his wife that I missed out on the whale watcher cruise and she was kind enough to give me her free passes which is a $70 value to help me out. What more could one ask for. Now that is what I call customer service. love this place.

We decided to stay at Hotel Macomber for our wedding because we were having our wedding dinner at the top notch Union Park Restaurant. The Macomber staff and rooms were fantastic! The people at the desk were always friendly and helpful. So helpful that they let us borrow one of their tables for our ceremony. Any questions or problems we had were instantly solved. We were always greeted upon coming and going. The Hotel is beautiful and clean. I had tears upon leaving because the staff helped make our day perfect. The porches on the Hotel were so relaxing and comfortable, one of our guests could always be found relaxing there. Wonderful place and people! Thank you so much.
