This place is cool and a little weird. There's a pool in the lobby so it smells like chlorine as soon as you walk in, which is probably my only complaint. It's an old historic building. The room was nice. The restaurant next door has really good seafood. Highly recommend the scallops. Probably the only hotel I've ever been to with good breakfast. And the prices are very reasonable. We got a romantic getaway package that came with the room, dinner, and breakfast. We were just passing through on our way to Maine and Sturbridge, MA happened to be exactly in the middle. I wish we had more time to explore, there's some cool looking stuff here.

This hotel has access to a local pond which is pretty clean and also has a beach for the family to use. If you are a fisherman with a Kayak you are welcome to bring your own. Just make sure you have your fishing license. There is a indoor pool and also a Jacuzzi. The hotel also has an restaurant within. Rooms are a bit dated but they do the trick. Staff was always friendly. Hope this helps.

Awesome staff. Great deal for memorial weekend couple getaway. Always ask for a room on the lake if possible. Beds we're 5/10, pool was busy, hot tub was small'ish, heavy smells inside the building due to indoor pool and spa. Beautiful views however from the room. Loved the lake. Little beach and plenty to do in the area. Especially for a foodie like me! Would recommend and would come back. Just know this is a older hotel so wear and tear is to be expected!

Every staff person I've met here has been pleasant, the grounds are along the waterfront are lovely & perfect for strolling. We're looking forward to taking paddle boats out on the lake tomorrow (additional fee, currently $6 for 1/2 hour, $9 for an hour). Our rooms are clean and more spacious than expected (1 standard double, 1king step-down suite), the can use some updating as far as rugs (not terrible, but certainly dated), beds (overly firm for my taste) & bathroom wallpaper (dated & lifting at the edges), but overall this is a very enjoyable hotel and we'll be back again.

Okay so here we go. My boyfriend and I decided to spend a night here around the 4th of July. To begin with, The rooms advertised as having balconies. Which they do. But not all of them face outside. They lead out to a giant indoor room with a pool and a few gazebos. It was very loud and not very private. Since we are smokers (unfortunately) we were a little depressed at the fact that we had no outdoor access unless we walked down the confusing hallways to go outside. On one of our trips to find a place to smoke, we found a wall covered floor to ceiling with ants and bugs. Of course we told the front desk and they had it taken care of. As the night progressed we started finding bugs and flies in our room. No thanks. So we packed up and went to the front desk again and asked for some sort of refund or something. They upgraded us to another room on the other side of the hotel. There were no other issues aside from the dead caterpillar we found on the ceiling. We were not aware that it was a pet friendly hotel and we certainly weren't happy to wake up at 8am to extremely loud barking that didn't stop until we left. Really nice and accommodating staff though. Oh & those little black dots on the door are ants with wings.

We enjoyed our room. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. Great view of the water. Good food in the lounge too. Try the Irish nachos with feshly made, thicker potatoes chips instead of corn. Unfortunately there is an indoor pool in the facility which causes all the hallways to smell intensely of chlorine. If they ask you if you want a room with a pool view say no, because your room will just open into the inside of the building where the pool is. Instead get a room with an outside view, preferably looking out onto the water. You'll get a great view, the ability to open the slider for fresh air and have an outside patio.

This place used to be our go to when staying in the area but this was probably our last stay. The outdoor scenery is wonderful, inside is now a different story. Our tub and sink were not clean, we had mold growing around the sliding glass door, the furniture was tattered, broken patio light, the security doors to outside were supposed to have key access but were unlocked all the time, and it wood have been nice if housekeeping do there job sometime over our 3 night stay. This place needs some serious TLC.

Stayed 6 days here for an event. Decent room, nice view of the lake, good breakfast. Didn't use the pool or hot tub but others in our group did. Mini golf in the back.

Aging Hotel, if you’re looking for something really clean then this hotel is not for you. You’ll dust, dust net inside the rooms, outdated furniture, classic CRT TV and 70/80’s temperatures control, some of the room has rear facing the pool and it have lots noise of people playing inside the pool, the other with rear facing the lake, it has noise when there is events going on. Other than this Hotel is fine. Staff is nice, events and events when I’m here, people told me the food is not good inside the hotel so I just grab the food from McDonald’s (better than the Burger King) for the breakfast. There some lake activities and some restaurants in short distance which is a plus for this Hotel.

Booked through Groupon at a great rate. Beautiful pictures of a hot tub and pool. Unfortunately pool and hot tub are drained and we were told they would be back up and running on Friday. (Just read a review from 2 weeks ago and they reported a similar story. ) Went to our room that definitely hadn't been seen by housekeeping. Our one outing for our vacation week was ridiculously below par. I suppose this is one of those experiences that teach us to remain thankful and humble.

Get a room with a balcony looking over the lake. Its beautiful — fresh air, birds, trees. The room was clean, quiet, and well maintained. Hard to believe a location this nice is accessible to major highways.

I booked this hotel on Groupon. They took nice pictures and it looked cozy and clean. When we got there it was old and the pool and Jacuzzi were not working. So my trip was kind of ruined. They tried redeeming themselves by giving us voucher for dinner. I didn't want to make a scene. Overall it was an ok experience. This place could be a gem if it was updated all rooms and main hotel. The grounds outside were not in good shape and you could tell it was a great place to take the family back in the day. Management is lacking. I really didn't get a follow up to my situation and direction on how to get my money back. Won't be referring any one there. The staff was nice but really didn't try to make my experience better. It's a shame.

Was there for a conference. The smaller rooms were nice but the main exhibition hall could definitely use some upgrading. Food wasn't all that great, but the staff was nice. Bathrooms were clean. Overall I'm glad I was only there for the conference as if I would have actually had to pay to be there, I would have been more upset.

My family and I stayed for 2 nights for a little get away and it was Great! It was clean, everyone was so friendly and it had great energy! Looking forward to going back in the spring!

Nice staff was the only good thing. The place is old and painted over to try and look fresh but cant hide how beat up and aged it is. Got very little sleep on the old, spring-popping-matress, and no there's no soundproofing. I heard my neighbors clearly and even more so when they were in the bathroom. Strong pool odor was in all the room hallways. Double grossness. I would not stay there again, especially with the many choices in the area.

If you do any business travel be prepared, this is not a Marriott/Hilton, etc. This is however a quaint hotel that has seen some updates in the rooms. I will caution you, the sliding door you see in the pictures don't open to the outside (where we planned to store our beer cooler, because there are no free refrigerators in rooms — that's an extra fee) the door opens to the inside pool lobby. The pool/hot tub is a nice feature so long as you plan on using between hours of 10am-9pm. I attended a conference here and it was a good location for the event. Staff was great, very helpful and friendly.

Hotel is run down and not kept up. Rooms are dirty! Carpeting throughout is old, and in the rooms a distinct mustiness is present. When entering our room at check in, the bathroom smelled like an dirty public restroom. Sheets had stains, dirty carpeting, blinds stained as well. We didn't want to put our bags down. We left. Pool was shut down due to someone had an "accident". Don't bother.

Decent hotel. The lobby and pool area are the best features. The rooms and bathrooms could use some updating as the furniture is old. Also, the location is hard to find if you never been here before. GPS took me to McDonald's and come to find out the hotel is down the street in back of McDonald's.

I attended a conference here with meals provided. The service and food was amazing. We followed up with a Christmas party and they opened up a bar for the event. Once again exceptional!

I always feel like I'm coming home when I stay here. The staff is amazing! They have everything you need: swimming pool, fitness center, restaurants on-site, beautiful location. They also have pet-friendly rooms. Everything is always clean and comfortable.

Breakfast with Santa was Nice! The service of getting Food out definitely lacked. They kept running out of items… Our server was great thou!

This place has been around for a very long time. It's been updated in some places and needs work in others. For the rate it's well worth it. The I door pool is great for those winter weekend getaways. In the summer the convienece to the major highway network makes it easier for travelers. Out room is clean and getting to it was made easy by the many corridors and staircases.

Attended a dance competition here for my daughter, so did not have much dealings with this business directly. I can say that this is a very nice looking hotel and everything was very clean and well maintained. Did a little walking around and the reception area and common areas were very nice.

Checked in on a Wednesday and stayed until Saturday. The place was like a ghost town Wed & Thu but Friday night was a zoo. They had a group using the conference room closest to the guest rooms. At 11:45 They were having a great time inside and outside the hotel. Unfortunately, that didn't make for good sleep for the rest of the guests. The room was nice but other than the young man who checked me in, the front desk staff were mostly inattentive. On three separate occasions I stood waiting while they dealt with paperwork and phone calls without so much as acknowledging I was there until they were finished. I Booked through Priceline for $89 per night. For that price it's a good value. Any more than that and I would have to think twice.

A quiet place, a beautiful pond.

Great hotel with a very helpful staff. Rooms are huge, but dated. Pool/atrium area is fantastic. Spent the weekend there for The New England Shake-Up and had a blast.

Very nice place. Much bigger than it looks. Beautiful indoor courtyard with gazebos, pool and hot tub. Mini golf, fire pits and a large pond with paddle boat rentals. My room was spacious, there was a great variety of conference rooms, the food was excellent. My only suggestion would be to renovate as the rooms are outdated with worn furniture. And being that it's in a woodsy area, spiders kept popping up in the rooms.

The property is beautiful. But, my room was a little dated. Could use some updating. The staff were friendly and quite helpful. My biggest complaint was my uncomfortable bed. I could actually feel the springs in the mattress. Did not make for a good night's sleep.

Can I give negative stars? One star only for the lake location and the two staff people we interacted with who were pleasant. Other than that it was terrible. Our room was horrible. Disgusting odor like mildew in the bedroom, the bathroom smelled like urine, the carpet was filthy, the ceiling was coming down, the bed was awful, and the pillows were like rocks. We paid $180 per night. It was the worst place I have ever stayed. On the next part of our trip we paid $160 for a beautiful, clean, modern room in Harrisburg. What a terrible waste of my hard-earned money in Sturbridge. Do not waste yours.

The location is amazing. It's set on a beautiful lake with very well kept grounds and in a good location. Unfortunately the rooms are all very tired. Each room is incredibly dated and the hotel is dirty. There is an active smoking room section and you can definelty smell that when you are put on the same floor. Overall the experience wasn't great. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating but the hotel needs an update.

The staff was wonderful and the room was very nice and clean. The pool was out or order and the lake was closed due to high level of bacteria and was the main reason we chose that hotel. The mini golf could use a lot of TCL and it's a shame they just let it look like it does. Joseph at the front desk was very nice and helpful and definitely made our stay getter and made sure to make up for the issues we had. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is very active and has lots of events taking place at it. I loved the waterfront with the picnic tables, and would have loved to have been able to use the firepits but they were not lit while we were there. The indoors is amazing because it basically brings the outdoors indoors. Unfortunately, both the lake and pool were closed while we were there. The rooms are pretty decent. Definitely good size, and I like the balcony overlooking the water. A little dated/run-down, but overall good quality and I'd stay again.

It was good. Spacious rooms. Not to hard to follow hallways. Things titled well. Great atmosphere.

Good hotel. Especially good if you have pets. Only downside is that there was some roof leakage and a large bucket filled with dirty water in the hallway. The pet friendly hallways could use some upkeep, but the room was clean.

Was not the best on cleanliness sheet were old with some small holes in them they could've put new sheets on the bed. And they wouldn't clean my room. Or make the beds because I had brought my blanket from home really people all the others hotels will just fold it and leave it on end of the bed for me. And not leave me a note on the bed say they couldn't do my room because of personal belongings. It only a blanket get over it. And now the food yuck! How do you serve food to people that's not fully cooked? Fish that is soaked wet soggy not cook. And hamburgers so raw in the middle. And they need to have a few lessons on food cross contamination myself and my friends all got sick from it. They need to what Gluten Allergy is and others allergies are. They need to learn to be more friendly at the front desk. Ask for a late check out and get yell at by the guy at the front desk. Overall not a get time there. Should not be rated a 3 star hotel.

We usedba Groupon. There were many thibgs going on that weekend including a wedding and a chess tournament, but we were still treated very well. When we arrived at check in time, the room wasnt ready so we had to wait in the lobby, but they brought out snacks and soda, and gave us complimentary tickets to the breakfast buffet. It was a little crazy but that's to be expected during school vacation week. Overall even though they were busy and possibly understaffed, they took care of our needs. We only stayed one night, but wish we stayed longer to use the paddleboats, mini golf course, and pool.

We stayed here the night before and after our wedding. The hotel coordinator was very friendly and very accomodating. The rooms themselves are older, a little in need of TLC and definitely the TV's aren't modern, although we didn't spend much time watching TV.

This was the hotel we chose to stay at for us and our guests after our heading at nearby Zuka's Hill top barn. The rooms are certainly getting a bit dated, but the staff was really great and helped us prepare, handed out gift bags at no cost, and were generally very easy in helping us plan. We did a breakfast buffet for our guests in the pool area the day after the wedding, and despite a little chlorine smell it was a great and comfortable way to do it. The fire pit area outside was a great after party and despite a noise complaint, the staff/security was very helpful in informing us and moving us to a different pit that wouldn't bother anyone.

The hotel was nice. It has the typical hotel smell but was overall was clean. The mini arcade should be much bigger and they should get new tv's that allow the usage of gaming systems. Other than that the rooms were nice. The staff were all helpful and great, especially doug at the front desk. The conference rooms are nice as well. Over all my stay was around a 3.5-4.

Very accommodating. The area was nice. Slightly expensive. The tattoo festival was fantastic. Didn't stay the night. The bison burger was fantastic.

Stayed here for my wedding and it was fantastic. Breakfast is delicious with an custom omelet bar and very good selection. I've also gone here for conventions and they have plenty of space and seem very helpful in setting up.

Nice place. Clean. Had an indoor pool and spa. Workout center. Restaurant. Truck parking. Cons place was a little dated. No continental breakfast. But do serve breakfast in restaurant. $88 with tax cdl discount. Overall would stay there again. .

I came here with my fiancée for our anniversary this year. It is awesome. Great staff that exceeds expectations. Beautiful hotel inside and out. It feels like home. The breakfast is really nice: I got the eggs benedict, its delicious. Oh and old Sturbridge village is down the road. It's always worth visiting even without the kids :)

Gorgeous property. Offered so many amenities at a fair rate. Each staff member was genuinely friendly and helpful.

We love this hotel. We come every year for our anniversary on Columbus day weekend. The lakeside view is gorgeous! The entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They were also very accommodating. There are parts of that could use a little updating, but everything is clean (pool included which FYI is concrete and does not have a liner). It has a great old New England feel to it. I would highly recommend for a wedding (they were holding one outside that was beautiful). We're already looking forward to next year!
