Huge scam, avoid this hotel at all costs! As a business owner, I don’t often post negative reviews because I know how important they are, but this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had, bar none. And I feel an obligation to warn any other unfortunate travelers who get lured in by this “quaint boutique” hotel. We booked the room, showed up and couldn’t get in the door, 20 minutes later one of the patrons finally let us in and no one was at the front desk. Apparently you’re supposed to be able to check in through the computer system, but that was disabled. So after two hours, stuck in the lobby, on the phone with customer service, we finally left! “Livid” does not do justice to my feelings, beyond frustrated and sickened by lack of courtesy, help and understanding. We ended up buying different hotel room, just to have somewhere to stay. Not only were we still charged for this one, but they tacked on $100 extra for cleaning fee for a room we didn’t even stay in! We feel completely taken advantage of and defeated. I know hotels are desperate during this time but there’s no excuse for such underhanded and exploitative business practices.
