Very nice property. Nice people good restaurant, very comfortable room. Highly recommend.

Amazing bed! King room and both my Husband and slept a full 8 hrs with NO waking up at all! First time in many years that has happened! Staff was so professional. Great little cafe for a quick morning bite and beverage too.

Just enjoyed their Mother’s Day brunch. Absolutely delicious! Many food choices, a free Mimosa and very efficient and courteous staff.

Super accommodating and friendly staff — the front desk woman we met when we checked in was so upbeat and positive, so that really set us off on a good start in regards to how we felt about the hotel. The interior is impeccably clean and well decorated while still preserving the hotel’s age. The room was quiet even though there appeared to be a large group of people here for a conference. I wish we had more time to walk around the surrounding area, but that gives us a reason to come back! … and we will!

Grabbed a coffee and fresh treats for a late breakfast. Very good Hanna very friendly and helpful. Will be back soon! Thank you Retlaw for bring this beauty back to my childhood memories of luxury and class in downtown Fond du Lac. Let’s support Downtown!

Very nice hotel but! The cafe has an employee working there whose husband and child tested positive for Covid. She is not disclosing.

10/10! Hotel Retlaw is absolutely amazing! ❤️ We had our wedding here and it was absolutely amazing! The food was fantastic, the staff was wonderful, and the hotel itself cannot be beat! From the gorgeous lobby to timeless ballroom and beautiful rooms! My husband and I have zero regrets with having the Hotel Retlaw as our wedding venue, we received so many compliments from our guests on its beauty. Although my husband doesn’t know it yet, we will definitely be having our future anniversary dinners here! ❤️ — with Shyannah Anderson.

We were fortunate to work with Thai and plan our wedding at the Hotel Retlaw. Thai was extremely organized and very helpful in making our day everything we imagined. The day was stunning and could not have run more smoothly thanks to Thai and her staff! The food was outstanding and the ballroom was exquisite. We had Valentine's Day dinner at Hotel Retlaw and it was amazing! The chef came out beforehand and asked if we had any questions, which we appreciated. The atmosphere was intimate and inviting. The food was 5 stars and amongst the best food we have ever eaten! Definitely a wonderful gem in the FDL community!

Had our company Christmas party in a private dining room and it was a great time! Lovely space, delicious meal, superb service (staff seemed to really enjoy caring for us! ). We especially enjoyed the dessert ice cream bar/buffet — how decadent! Live music from the downstairs bar also a festive touch. A real ritzy night out!

We were at the Hotel Retlaw for cocktails and dinner. The best Old Fashion I’ve ever had. Dinner was wonderful. Chef Chanse was so interesting and took us on a tour of his kitchen. The Hotel is absolutely beautiful. We will be back. Thank you Hotel Retlaw for a beautiful evening.

My sister and family stayed at the Retlaw last night. They had a wonderful, enjoyable experience. The room was modern and beautiful, and the staff were great.

The staff were very friendly and gave us information about the amenities the hotel had to offer. We enjoyed a drink and some appetizers at the bar and they were very tasty. The piano man serenaded us with a variety of tunes. It was an enjoyable impromptu Tuesday date night and we will be back.

Amazing food! Have not stayed overnight yet, but will be this fall. Have heard many positive comments. Absolutely beautiful property and helpful staff.

As of a few weeks ago, they're closed. Hopefully they'll find a new owner for this historic hotel. Stayed here a few times, and loved it.

This is a dump. I do not usually write reviews, but that's how bad this is. 1. The location is great, and that is it's only redeeming factor. 2. The rooms are tremendously average. It's a glorified Ramada. And not that glorified. Which is tragic, because it could be as cool as a hotel like the Skirvin in OKC. Old and restored and downtown. They are not even trying here 3. Hope you have your own mi-fi, because the internet is terrible. When I asked the desk staff (of which there appears to be never more than one), she says "Yeah, the higher up the worse it is. I think it has to do with concrete. " But the lobby is only marginally better. 4. The "gym" is not as nice as a decent Hyatt Place gym. Old equipment. My elliptical actually broke while I was on it. From the gym attendant: "I told them this was a bad model. Hope you're ok. " 5. You get to park for free — in the urine smelling parking garage next door. Where you get to walk through the smoking area to get to your car. 6. The bar is staffed by one or two people… who also staff the restaurant. Good luck with service. The guy working the bar the week I was there was trying but stretched too thin. The woman helping him was useless. She actually — not kidding — kept eating from her to-go container while she poured me a drink. After she finally came over. 7. The shower nozzle — not shower head; nozzle — is a firehose. Good luck. Bottom line.

You will get better amenities at Country Suites or the Holiday Inn for less money than here. Room cleaning sucked they left hairy used soap in the shower. Seems like they don't put a lot of effort into making it a great hotel.

Stayed here over the holiday weekend and had a wonderful time. As always, the staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Room which we were given was warm, well stocked and clean. On one of the nights, and despite a party in a room above us, room was still quiet (speaks to solid construction of the hotel, built in the 1920's. Great place to stay.

Searched for hours for a reasonably priced hotel for my family over Labor Day. We had to have a pool. I booked on Orbitz. When we arrived we were told that the pool would be closed on Labor Day and they would not be serving breakfast. I expressed my disappointment in t hat the kids were really looking forward to that. We were not offered any vouchers or discount! The room we had looked clean on the surface but very dated. Additionally, the mattresses were sunk, the toilet was not tight to the floor, and the TV was a tube so we could not see the whole picture. It was waaaaaay overpriced. I think that this experience might have been worth $55 NOT $126.50! I would recommend it to Gordon Ramsay for Hotel Hell.

Back in its heyday it might have been a better place. Kind of run down now. But there's no place else in the city proper.

I stayed in Fond du Lac for business for two nights and booked a stay with Retlaw on a whim — I am so glad I did! The rate was on par with other hotels in the area, but this hotel is beautiful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel restaurant was really nice. The complimentary breakfast included a made-to-order omelet station, and at dinner, my steak was truly fantastic. I really hope that more people stop in and give this gem a chance.
