Beautiful place and was a romantic atmosphere. The price is more than Hope Cabins but it all depends on if you want full service or just fend for yourself. There was a mixup when we went but they tried hard to make it right. The meals were a little too fancy for my tastes (we are a steak and potatoes couple). The robes were like putting on soft clouds! We will probably go back again sometime. We would recommend it to others also.

Gorgeous Bed and Breakfast! Very romantic for a getaway. I was here for a wedding, but will return with my boyfriend in the near future! Very friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and very secluded from the nearby town.

The Hideaway is a true hidden treasure! Debbie & her staff go way above & beyond to be sure your every wish is granted! Every room has a creative & unique theme. Everywhere you look there is a little antique touch or theme detail that lets you know the owners care about their property. On our first night we enjoyed the Private Candle Light Dinner for Two, it was perfectly romantic & the 5 course meal was outstanding. The breakfasts were proportioned just right. Our personal favorite thing would have to be how easy it was to relax & feel like we were the only guests. From the country style rocking chairs on the porch, to the lovely patio outside the pub, to strolls on the property, to the quiet of our suite, we loved our stay! Bravo Debbie for making such a perfect hideaway! We’ll be back!

Debbie and Sam were awesome! They really went above and beyond for us. Ultimately we decided to have the wedding a little closer to home due to travel time for our guests. However my future husband and I will be staying for a few nights after our wedding! I HIGHLY recommend Hideaway Country Inn! As a florist I will be referring all my couples to Hideaway! I really wish I could give negative rating to this place. Very much disappointed with the so called romantic getaway. I really do not understand what was romantic in that place. First of all there is absolutely no safety in the place, the back door had no lock at all when asked the staff there they informed that it doesn't work and are not sure how to make it work, and the lock on the door is only for display and will not work! What seriously! The romantic packages there are really not worth it, they took $30 for the heart of petals on the bed which was absolutely missing (attached picture), $60 for Carpet of flowers — LOL I never knew that was also called as a carpet! Carpet of not even fresh flowers instead a carpet of some cheap quality silk petals. OH MY GOD! the bathroom literally stinked, the bathtub was so dirty so dirty, the water smelled like a sewage water we could not take bath or even brush our teeth, we had to use bottled water to even brush our teeth. Please consider this as an advise friends and do not make the mistake of visiting the place even in your dreams. It is a total waste of money, everything is super expensive and cheap quality. Highly disappointed, disgusted and annoyed!

This place is amazing with wonderful food and a staff that works with you to put together a very individualized party. It is beautifully decorated and charming. The food was more than delicious. I cannot believe I did not know HideAway was in the area! Wonderful good, drinks, atmosphere and people.

Room was beautiful and updated. Great at accommodations last minute. (2 stars for that) Other details need to be payed attention to. Details of issues were left at front desk to address owner. Owner or management never contacted us as we were told they would. Took a night to get out of town. Doubtful that we will return but hope management will take care of the issues we had so they can have other customers return. Would not recommend to friends or family and we will continue our search for a regular monthly get away spot.

We had the most wonderful time here. The staff is outstanding, food was delish, and the setting is perfect for a weekend getaway. It was so serene, and felt like we stepped out of our lives for a bit. Casual, friendly, and I can’t wait to go back!

This place knows how to take care of couples. The rooms all have a different theme and very comfortable. This is our 2nd time coming here so chose a different room. Love having a fireplace and jacuzzi. The restaurant have an option for romantic dinner for two in the wine cellar or upstairs with fireplace which was nice. Definitely a great place to get away from it all without traveling too far.

Can I give zero stars? This place was a nightmare. Cleanliness was a big issue and the owner was a BEAR. Heed the negative reviews. Read her responses to them, cringe, and then run.

I will start with the good things about this place. The Hunters Suite was adorable, the bed was really comfortable. The room was clean. The hot tub was amazing. Having Netflix was a plus. Staff seemed very nice. I really wanted to love this place and we tried very hard to but it was just not easy. The negative things overwhelmed the good parts unfortunately. The food was not good, we ate there the first night and we were just not impressed. They were short staffed so the service was really slow even though she was trying very hard. Breakfast is extremity over priced for a cold fruit pastry, 1 orange slice, 2 strawberries, some blueberries, and a slice of soggy lukewarm quiche with 2 pieces of cold sausage links. There is no breakfast menu and you don't get told what you are being served before they bring it out. It was not enjoyable. We decided to find somewhere else to eat for the remainder of our weekend. Which if you want fine dining you will be making an hour drive to the closest place. We went to Cameron's in Columbus — it was absolutely amazing. Saturday night we had a couples massage booked. This was the last thing we had to look forward to after everything else had been so disappointing. We called to check up on our massage time and were told to expect them to come to our rooms and get us anytime. They never showed up. We paid a substantial amount of money for a couples massage and extra money for a romantic package that goes along with it.

Me and my husband planned a romantic getaway for a night at the hideaway bed and breakfast, well atleast that’s what we hoped for! I’m not one to complain but this place is horrible! We arrived at 4 on Saturday the lady at my the front desk was very nice she showed us and around then to our room (Carpenter room) thats when everything turned bad! They did not mention what so ever that they had well water until she showed us our room! For future reference they should have that Advertised. People might not be able to bath in that due to sensitive skin or allergies. Well water smelled horrible also left dirt looking particles in the In the tub! They offered one water scent pack for water/smell that limited to one bath! Which I was not happy about! If you wanted another one you had to pay for it! The jacuzzi tub had knobs missing! The room didn’t seem to nice considering we paid 241 dollars for one night! We went done stairs for dinner we sit down the waitress gave us a cup of water, we looked over the menu and decided we did not want what they had. Very expensive menu by the way! We told the waitress they we were going to go else where she made sure to yell Wendy’s is down the road which I took as a insult! I feel like this place is noting but money Hungry place the more you spend the nicer they are too you! I felt they are very judgmental people, we thought a place like this is suppose to make you feel very Comfortable but instead they judged us on our Appearance!

This place is so gorgeous and the staff is so nice all the rooms have a theme. There is a bar and you can eat there too. The bar and the dining room for food is open to the public. I hope this helps so everyone knows about the HideAway Inn.

We got married here on January 30th 2016. It was a very nice small intimate wedding and everything was great, we had dinner and stayed the night but the following morning when we checked out it went downhill. We had a budget and had it all planned, met with the owner, went ovet details and prices and knew roughly what we would pay at checkout. I didnt have anything else added on. Well, the owner had tackes on several fees and what not that were not apart of our plans. Needless to say she left it all up to the girl working that morning to deal with it, and she of course had no idea what we even had for our wedding other then notes the owner had left for her. We were charged for an extra guest, a cleanup charge which is bogus because I myself in my wedding attire picked up all my own decorations with my sister and husband right after pictures and several other things, none of it made sense to my husband or I. So she called the owner who then told her on the phone that all they would do was give us $50 off another two night stay and if I had issues I could directly call her (she was not very nice). I'm easy to please but I can tell you that even reading through these reviews from the last year or so from other people that the owner is still not the most delightful person. This place is nice, the food was great and all the other people who helped to serve us definitely get a 5 star from me, but the owner of this business needs some work.

Truly A Blessing! My husband and I stayed at hideaway country inn for our three night honeymoon stay! We first want to say THANK YOU to the staff at the inn especially chef Rex and can't forget about Rita his beloved dog. Our first night here was our wedding night, upon arrival to the eagles nest which was an upgrade thank you very much! My hubby and I came in to find rose petals scattered throughout our room and heart shaped rose petals on our very comfortable king size bed! We enjoyed our first night relaxing in the huge Jacuzzi tub for two sipping on moscato (which we highly recommend) with fireplace a blaze! Our second day here we enjoyed our breakfast brought to us in a picnic basket which was great so we didn't have to leave our room, and there are not enough words to describe how delicious our food was. Later in the day we had a couples massage (which we highly recommend as well). It was so relaxing and they were amazing! Then chef Rex and Rita brought us our dinner in a basket which was Superb! Can't express how great chef Rex is and how great our food was! Our third day here we started off with breakfast in the manor house which in fact was more delightful then expected! Later on we got all dressed up for our candlelit dinner for two (highly recommend! ) Our dinner was phenomenal my hubby had the porterhouse and I had the salmon we couldn't even eat it all, but it was a Perfect evening! We had our first dance as a married couple in the library which was romantic!

First ever bed and breakfast experience for my wife and I. We thoroughly enjoyed the winter revitalization experience together.

Small menu. But the food was exceptional. Have a nice selection of wines. Might just have to check out the craft and wine might in January.

Booked the cherry suite for my boyfriend’s birthday and granted it was beautiful and staff was pleasant but NOTHING WORKED, the advertisement on the website is false, and the add ons and room itself were drastically overpriced for what you get. I’ve been to much more luxury suites and stays and this one was the most expensive and least worth it. I ordered the bourbon trail mini bar which consisted of 3 small shot bottles that you can purchase in store for $2 piece, thankfully they were willing to cancel that order. Then I tried to enjoy a bath in the copper tub, which was the biggest selling point for me, and the drain stopper wouldn’t work so I couldn’t fill it up. So I gave up on that idea and tried to watch a movie, mind you the website advertised Satellite Tv, XM radio, CD player, DVD player, etc but reality is you get a TV that only plays Netflix which I didn’t mind but it’s worth mentioning, and the POWER WENT OUT. There was no emergency number, no other guests, and the office employees had left for the night so my boyfriend and I kept ringing the office bell and hung around the lobby until by chance an employee/resident came down to let his dog out to pee and helped us but as soon as we went back down to our room the power went back out. Eventually we gave up and just went to bed. After telling the office employees about our experience they only responded with “oh no, I’m sorry” as they printed out receipts for my check out.

Beautiful wedding package. Site lovely, quite, well planned. Finger food very good. Staff pleasant and helpful. Great time.

What a wonderful elopement! Callie made it a perfect and wonderful experience! We had a wedding morning massage to begin the day followed by the perfect Evening! Thank you to the Hideaway and especially our "elopement specialist" Callie!

My wife and I spent 2 days for our anniversary. This was also our first time at a bed and breakfast. Wonderful people for the staff. We stayed in the Smith room which was awesome. We did have some minor issue's occur but the staff was quick to rectify them. The Smith advertised an outside Jacuzzi on a 'private' deck. It is private accept it's viewable to the outside patio area below. (bring a bathing suit) ;-) Great bar/lounge with good selection.

My husband and I stayed in the cherry suite, it's absolutely gorgeous! Everything was taken care of for us by the staff. The cheese plate and chocolate covered strawberries were waiting for us Friday night when we arrived. Breakfast the next morning was fresh, delicious and filling. Our second night we had a picnic basket delivered to our room, sorry no pics, it smelled and looked so good we couldn't wait. Besides no pic would have done the meal justice! We will absolutely be visiting Hideaway country inn, again and again.

My husband and I had an incredible time the past couple days at the Hideaway Country Inn. We were celebrating our my husband's homecoming, our 10 year anniversary, and my birthday. It was definitely the perfect place to go! Everything from the beautifully decorated rooms to the on-site activities were amazing. We loved our couple's massage, scavenger hunt, and ice cream/cookies add-ons. The breakfasts were delicious (especially the pastries! ) and I really appreciate that they accommodated my diabetes. My husband loves cornhole, so that was a wonderful bonus, as was the life-size chess game. We enjoyed strolling the property and only wish we could've stayed longer! The fizzmos for the Jacuzzi were lovely and we even bought additional because we enjoyed it so much. Thanks again for the wonderful time! We will definitely be back!

Absolutely GORGEOUS… We stayed in the Cherry Suite (see photos). The two person copper tub and steam room was INCREDIBLE! The house is everything you would expect from an old country farm house that this city couple REALLY enjoyed. The service and hospitality was top notch. I would HIGHLY recommend Hideaway in to ANYONE.

My husband and I recently stayed two nights at the Hideaway inn it was a wonderful experience food was great everyone was very nice and helpful we strongly suggest you go n check the place out.

My husband and I went here a couple weeks ago and it was so horrible that we left and checked into a regular hotel… our tub leaked we had to put a wash rag in there to hold the water… the food we ate was OK … but my steak was so hard I couldn't eat it… theirs really nothing to do here… couldn't even use the spa because the owner said their was no openings … When we checked out the owner was very rude and said that we don't do refunds here… so we lost out on money but it was well worth it to get the hell away from their… and also we was told by the cook that he stays in the attic… that really was very creepy to me.

There are a lot of 1-2 star reviews noting a horrible experience. Please be wise consumer and take note! DO NOT STAY HERE. We stayed at the Hideaway Inn for 2 nights/ We booked directly through the hotel with owner Deb Miller, over the phone, because we were told the Expedia price of $179 did not include breakfast. So we paid $229/night. However, we were surprised (as well as a another couple) when we showed up on Christmas day and the dining room was closed. The front desk was closed as well. I called the after hours number again and left a message. After trying a few more times I finally received an answer and was told, "Sorry we don't serve breakfast on Christmas. " And, "All the hotels in Marion are closed on Christmas. " (This latter part is obviously not true). I questioned about booking through them over the phone to have "breakfast included in the rate" and not booking through Expedia and asked to have the amount for breakfast refunded. The owner said ok but it would take up to 30 days. I asked her how much to expect to have refunded but was told, "I don't know I am not sitting at my computer. " 30 days has come and gone, I've talked to the credit card company and they have tried to resolve this, but she has told them we had a discounted rate because it didn't include breakfast. However, we paid the same rate for 2 nights and had breakfast the first day… so this doesn't make much sense. Overall, the owner Deb Miller, was quite rude and raising her voice on the phone.

Been there twice, once in the spring and once in the winter. Both times the staff was super friendly, the rooms were what we expected and the food was good! It's most relaxing. I don't get any bars until I get closer to town :-) We'll definitely be back.

My wife and I stayed here for our 5 year anniversary. Upon check in they showed us the room which was nice. We were relaxing when we saw to MICE run across the floor. We went down to talk to them and they were very nice and gave us a gift certificate for another time. We had to rent another room at the Holiday Inn for $180. There isn't a lot to do in that area so I called and asked if they could refund our money. The first time (sure that's not a problem. ) I didn't receive a refund so I called again. (Oh yes absolutely. ) I didn't receive a refund called again. Was told it will be there next week. Still wasn't there. Called back, got the owner and was scolded. She said that nobody would have said that and hung up on me. I would never set foot in this horrible women establishment.

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon. Although it might have been a nice place to stay back in the day. It isn't what I expected at all. Got the chocolate fondue: chocolate tasted old & bad. Both the graham crackers & the pretzels were stale. No tp in the bathroom. Don't expect to shower with your significant other because the shower could hold half a person. I looked at rhe reviews and I totally agree with all of the bad ones. This place stunk. They said there would be dinner service at 7pm & when we went to go to dinner. It was a ghost town. Seriously not worth the money & the owner doesn't seem to care either. She wasn't even there. It seems she takes vacations often. Listen to the reviews… the reviews are what make places that are ok. To wonderful. Fix it.

What an incredibly horrible experience. Went for Easter Brunch. Food was terrible. The lamb looked and tasted like jerky. The cheesy potatoes looked like they were regurgitated. The green beans were overcooked and split open. At $20 a meal this is robbery. What a joke.

Looking for a night away? Save your money and do not book a night stay here. In all fairness, the food is fabulous so if you happen to be driving through this part of Ohio, the cuisine is worth stopping; however I can think of about a million other things worth spending $280++ on. The inn is suffering from an identity crisis and poor service. Marketed as a romantic inn, yet amenities include NUMEROUS corn hole boards and a life size chess board (think Alice and Wonderland)? The patio of this romantic "inn" is adorned with Mikey's Hard Lemonade and Bud Light umbrella tables which just cheapen the whole place. We did not have soap in our room to wash our hands and when we went to the office, were given one packet of "nectar" to use — — we had to go back for more and the staff member was genuinely confused as to why one travel size packet of liquid soap wasn't enough to wash our hands? On Sunday, the server/office staff worker was late so we could not check out or get a cup of coffee until after 9 am. The "always available" coffee/cocoa station in the pub failed to have the French Press coffee maker making it pointless. Then, there are the cheesy add-ons to the experience. Fifty Shades of Gray package, Naked Chocolate, etc. Seriously. I would have rated it less had it not been for the food — — we had a really good dinner but was disappointed overall.

Planned a romantic getaway here Valentines Weekend. Upon check in we were told it would be a "few minutes" and to take a seat in the "bar". The bar was unattended so we could not order a drink, or even have a glass of water. We waited for an hour and forty five minutes before we could check in (we arrived a little after the check-in time) Upon entering our room it was lovely, however, we had ordered a dinner basket to be delivered to our room and with the delay in checking in our dinner would be coming in less than a couple of hours. We started to unwind and decided to turn the TV on — hey we did not have the kids, we could watch what we wanted!. The TV did not work. Called the front desk and was told they would check on it. What ensued after that was a Monty Python movie. First one then another then another employee came in checking the same thing, told them the same information, over and over again. They then told us we would be "upgraded" to another room and that our dinner which was now over an hour late being delivered would be set up in this other room. We were advised this would be done in 20 minutes. Over an hour later we called again and advised please just bring our food as we were very hungry. The young lady running the desk brought our basket, the food was terrible. The pork was cold and overcooked, veggies were overcooked, the rolls were rock hard. The only edible part of the meal was the small slice of cheesecake for dessert.

My husband and I went to the Hideaway two occasions for Valentine's day. The first time we were blown away by the look of the exterior and the interior. The long driveway into the woods was actually very unique and exciting! We also loved the fireplace with real logs on fire, along with a charming meal. This is a family owned business that is unique with possibilities as they grow. I would encourage all that are looking for something different other than a cookie cutter bed and breakfast to try them out. It's appeal is warm and charming with a great tasting menu. I gave them 4 stars out of 5 because I would like to see them grow in a few areas that are just based on my opinion, one way they could improve is to give couples the opportunity during Valentines Day to have more romantic things for them to do besides just eat and leave, or eat and go back to the retreat. Other than that I believe this will be a place we dine for many special occassions.

My wife and I were married here actually, in 2007. Both of us had family travelling from thousands of miles away, hers from germany and CA. Mine from WV and FL and plenty from neare by. We couldnt have been happier. They helped with everything. Coordinated with other local hotels, scheduled custom events for our extra long celebration like a bonfire and local bratwurst at 2am! Food on all occasions was unreal. Very very good! and no troubles keeping the bar stocked and varied. Special needs were always met. And with smiles and charm. Delicate family circumstances, personalities, and complexities were handled with care and discression. They had no problem customizing a fare rate for our booking of nearly the whole site. And had no problem with late and loud parties, having notified the one or two nonevent guests during their bookings about our wedding. Some even shared a toast with us. Owner but especially the event planner were excellent and beyond duty. Phoning family to help coordinate and giving driving directions and local advice constantly and pleasurably. Thanks Hideaway for giving us the perfect place to unite our families.

I was apprehensive after reading some of the reviews. But I am glad that I didn't listen to the negative reviews. The staff was great, made us feel very welcomed and appreciated. We stayed in the Africa room and couldn't of been happier. We will definitely be back. If you are on the fence because of some of the other reviews, do yourself a favor and stay there.
