If you are looking for a family getaway, Great Wolf Lodge should be on your short list of destinations! A family friendly, kid-centered environment with tons of activities for everybody. The waterpark is clean, well-maintained, and open with great sight lines to be able to keep track of the kids while they play. The rooms were nice as well. What stood out to us the most was the staff. This was the closest we've come to the "Disney experience" in Michigan — with staff members stopping along their way and engaging with guests. Everywhere we turned, staff were willing to go above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. When my daughter lost her water shoes on day one of our trip — we had 3 staff members approach us on day 2 to help us find them. Overall, a great experience, and we will definitely be returning!

A great mix of things for kids we took our 7, 5, 3 and 1 year old and they had fun for everyone from zero depth area to big water slides. Outdoor pool was nice too. My only complaint is the cost of everything not included — no breakfast included?, Drink cups, magic quest as much as $70 a kid to add a package. Kids had a blast we just ate outside of the hotel. Front desk service was friendly Note bathroom/locker rooms were middle of a remodel so we did have to go outside to a trailer area but they were clean and well kept and had a cover over them in case of a rainy day. Also with staying in the hotel we just changed in our rooms.

Our family of four got a lot of fun in this place. But I would say this place for kids up to maybe 8-9. My 14 years old felt boring, but good part she took a book and started reading, which is a very positive thing :D Our 5 years old had blast! Everything here leads for spending money — but every hotel built like that :) especially for kids. The personnel was very polite ad friendly. The only thing I have a suggestion it is night time story for the kids: it is the same, with only one character appearance and huge and boring introduction ; the story is read very quickly and not clear. Other than that, we really enjoyed been here! Thank you Great Wolf Lodge :)

Great Wolf Lodge to do will do anything to help you have the vacation of a lifetime. They are there to help your kids have a fun and safe visit. They are there to make sure your vacation goes smoothly. If there is any possible way they can help you they will. They're restaurants and chefs are knowledgeable about allergies and will help you on that front as well. We love GWL. This trip we had all sorts if extra perks — from fudge and a card left in. Our room, to free stuff in the arcade. It was a great trip.

Terrific place for family with younger children. Several places to eat as well as Duncan Doughnuts for a quick breakfast fix. Room was lovely with fridge and microwave. Our son wishes we were still there. Big game room and even a fun mini bowling alley. 3 big tube slides and 2 smaller sides as well as a toddler area and hot tub (one for family one for adults). Nice bedtime character meets for the little ones as well as to start the day.

We loved this place! Very clean. Amazing staff. Almost every single person we came in contact with was very polite and very willing to help. A great mix of things to do if you want a break from the water park. Took part in most all of the offered activities and they were all great. Pizza was good also. We can't wait to go back!

We had our Arson Conference at this location the place was very impressive the staff took great care of our group. With water park and stores there is a lots to enjoy for a family. The rooms were very clean like home. The dinner in the Restaurant was great waitress very friendly. Persons working desk very friendly if you needed something or a question they were great help. I am planning to go back and bring the family to enjoy and relax. There's a lot to do and see in the area outside I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for lots of fun and great memories.

We had a few issues that made our stay not enjoyable. The worst was the water parks "safety" rules that put young toddlers lives at risk. The park does not allow any parent to accompany any age child down any slides. We were told that this was for safety, but they would allow our 1 year old baby to go down alone! Anyone with young children known that kids this age cannot keep themselves up right. When they try to lift their torso it will flip them onto their face, which would result in the child drowning. Also, we have a 3 yr old that was too short to climb out of the big slide at the bottom. When we went to grab him the life guard said we could not get him, but the guard didn't help him either. Obviously, we ignored the stupid rule of helping our own child and just grabbed him anyways. The guard apparently didn't want to get up off his stool (again, for "safety"). It appeared that there was no common sense to the rules. NONE of this is on their website either, so I advice that anyone with children under the age of 3 1/2 or if they are short not bother trying to use the water park. Every other water park that has rules like this considers the safety of the child and lets common sense prevail, but not these people. For example, other water parks that do not allow more than one rider at a time will allow a parent to accompany children under the age of 3 or they prohibit children under 3 from riding. Not this place.

Great Wolf Lodge is an excellent location for a conference or social gathering. The staff work very hard and will go above and beyond to help a guest or visitor feel welcomed and comfortable. I know several of the local employees at the Traverse City location. They love working for the resort. The food is most wonderful and they offer a wide variety of local favorites along with the tried and true classics every child loves. They will even color the veggies wild colors using natural coloring to peak the interest of even the most fussy child! Catering for in house events is done by on-site professional chefs and wait staff. The building is well kept and in good repair. Water park is large and fun! There is a little something for everyone at The Great Wolf Lodge!

Such a wonderful fun place to take the kids for a little vacation! I recently took my 2 year old for the first time and he was able to enjoy almost every fun activity in the hotel! He absolutely loved the water park and was completely amazed by the arcade. I Loved that the arcade was open 24/7. When we both woke restless in the middle of the night so we headed to the arcade for some midnight fun! I will definitely be making a stay at the great wolf lodge a tradition for my family!

This is the perfect place for little kids to go around and have fun swimming in the pool and to play magi quest. The food however is a little pricey but the guest service is REALLY GOOD. And at every night in front of the GIANT clock is a bed time story while a character comes up. I just love how the guest staff makes SURE you have a safe visit with your family and how the water park staff makes sure EVERY little thing is safe for little kids because there are lifeguards EVERYWHERE! I remember when I saw a dummy the lifeguards use for rescue training and it was in a tube, I dumped it out of the tube in front of a life guard and when I dumped it out I heard a VERY LOUD whistle and a life guard jump in the water. But if you are a grandparent or parent I would just keep a close eye so you can help your little kid (s) if they are hurt as well. I love the great wolf lodge!

This is our second time here, both times we were so impressed! Our kids had so much to do (7 and 13 years old). Seriously, the customer service has been exceptional both times! Our daughter lost her wand (which was in the laundry and they found) but they were going to replace it for free two years ago. Then when we checked in two years ago they forgot to give us our wolf ears (not a big deal at all) we went to front desk and they gave them to us and then gave us a late checkout for the "trouble". Nothing topped this though, on March 26-27 at 4 am. Our daughter got sick in the middle of the night on all the bedding. We had to call front desk to get new bedding, they sent up all the new stuff and someone to clean up the mess. Most parents would have let them clean it up but if your a real parent YOU CLEAN up YOUR KIDS MESS, which we did! They were so happy they didn't have to clean it and realized we didn't sleep all night so they gave us another late checkout for FREE! We love the Great Wolf Lodge and will definitely be back again! I wish I would have been thinking when all this was happening so I could have put the names of the individuals that worked last night to really let them shine. But let's just stay you both need and deserve a raise! Thank you so much, The Hansen Family!

We spent 3 days there for my son's birthday. The hotel, and rooms were very nice and clean. ALL of the staff was nice, friendly, and always willing to help. The kids activities, kids yoga, arts and crafts, and story time, are great! The reason why I gave 4 stars was because the staff didn't seem to enforce one rule, quiet hours from 11pm-7am. It sound and felt like a train going by every 15-20 munutes because unsupervised kids running the halls at night. I understand it's a hotel for kids, and that's why I didn't call the desk to complain. The other reason for the 4 star review is because there were unsupervised kids in the fitness center… at 11pm. I worked out at that time figuring it was "quiet time" and I could work out without being bothered. The small issues would not stop me from going back again. We had a great time as a family! Oh and the water park was amazing!

Always a great experience, but it can be very pricey because nearly everything comes with a price. However, if you stay in the water park and don't fall victim to their blatant pursuits to market to young children it can be a great time. Don't buy into the hype if the magic wands, and $30 bubble wands. Stick to water park and the local find options and it can be an expensive yet still affordable trip. The park itself has options for all ages and pleases even parents when you see them go down the water slides. One final request which has nothing to do with Great Wolf itself. Please watch your children the lifeguards are not baby sitters. Too many parents let there kids run free at ages that can't even swim well enough to be safe. Enjoy the facility, but be sure to enjoy the experience with your family also!

We loved every moment of celebrating our boy's birthdays for a weekend at the Great wolf lodge! Its been awhile since my last stay, so I was very excited & pleased by how many more activities there were for the kids. The staff is VERY professional, informal, cheerful, all of which made our stay that much better. The only reasoning for the 4 out of 5 stars is due to our room needed some updating/more cleaning. A loud wobbly toilet, a unbalanced refrigerator that froze our drinks/food, for a family of 4 I wish there was more seating then just for 2 other then our beds, the railing out on the balcony is sketchy because it is leaning forward (no way was I letting the kids out there). Our room needed to be cleaned better before checking in, As a former house keeper I know what to look for. I found hair in the bath tub, the floor needed to be vacuumed and I found toys left from the previous family under the beds. Those are my only complaints. Other then that, we loved our stay and really look forward to coming again in the future, so hopefully I can update my review and change it to 5 stars! :)

We took our clan up to celebrate our recent marriage and have a mixed review. We have a blended family so we have a range in ages of our kids. Everyone was entertained and happy, including of course my husband and myself. Lots for everyone to do and the food was really good. I was not happy with the cleanliness of the room or the friendliness of the staff at the front desk.

Very clean and very well run. Everyone we interacted with has been courteous and helpful. I didn't see even one employee who appeared bored or inconvenienced. The safety staff in the water park were extremely diligent and focused on making sure that the nooks and crannies of this varied and busy park were well monitored. I feel that our very active 3 year old grandsons were very safe (though I didn't let them out of my sight, lol). I am certain they will remember this place and want to come back. I was surprised to not see any packs of teenagers which was great. I read some reviews saying this place was shabby but they must be referring to other locations as this Traverse City, Michigan facility is felt well maintained. This is a great value for families with youngish children who are getting winter stir-crazy. I am impressed.

Personnel are outstanding. Poor security. Rustic decor reads as dingy, room lighting is relatively dim. Generally pretty comfortable accommodations — except for temperature swings. Food is pretty good if you aren't diabetic. Handicap access is a little iffy. Did not come for water park, no rating. This place is great if you want to come here for the amusement, less than great if coming for business — their firearm policy is unacceptable.
