Location is excellent, and the breakfast is a nice touch.

Ann Arbor is a college town and Bell Tower Hotel is the best located "nice" hotel in Central Campus. The fancy restaurant of years past is gone and there is no bar (as of yet). There is no room service and the rooms are pricey. But, this hotel serves the purpose it is intended to; nice rooms at a location close to the Medical Center, and Central Campus. There is a turn down service and there are plenty of great food and drink places within a 2-5 minute walk.

Great lobby with free water and couches. Highly recommend trying one of the free oatmeal cookies. Would definitely wait for people in this lobby again. Two thumbs way up. 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you like an old school experience with all the charm that an older hotel can provide this should be where you stay! It has actual keys for the rooms. No digital entries for this place. I loved the room. It is very well taken care of and clean! Very close to great restaurants and convenience stores. They do have valet parking so be prepared to pay $20 for that but well worth it. I would stay here again for sure!

Super-convienent location to U of M central campus. Valet parking very quick so it's a good option vs the city lots. Rooms recently refreshed. Breakfast is nothing special but convenient.

Hotel is really comfortable and cozy. Only complain is service at front desk. The lady was pretty rude when I asked if they had a spare charger since I had left mine at the office. "Just go to Walgreens and buy one for 5 bucks" in an irritated tone". 25 dollars later I do have an extra charger. Want to buy it back from me lady from the front desk?

The Bell Tower was very clean and quiet. Friendly staff! Great breakfast, get there early though! Great location we could walk to where ever we needed to go. Valet parked our car we didn't need it all weekend! We would definitely stay at the Bell Tower Hotel again!

Everyone at the hotel was extremely professional. The valet worker was amazing. I'd recommend highly to anyone.

Cozy. That was the main thought I had staying here. The hallways were close and narrow, but felt homey, not constricting. The breakfast was nice, a bit better than average, insofar as continental breakfasts go. The bathrooms didn't have a door that locked—it was a sliding door. The beds were very nice, with plenty of pillows of varying hardness and shape. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay!

I am not a fan. The embellishments are nice but the room is not good considering the price. For example they do not have a fridge or a bath tub.

Really excellent location. My room was small but clean and thoughtfully appointed. Breakfast, and particularly the coffee, was surprisingly good. I needed my car very early one morning before the valet opened but it was waiting for me.

Beautiful old building right downtown. Valet is available and the staff are all very kind and helpful. They provide a nice list of restaurants/shops to visit downtown as well as restaurants that deliver to the hotel. Rooms are very clean.

Thankful there are excellent employees there willing to provide outstanding service on Thanksgiving day.

Location is only thing hotel has going for it. Don't fall for the free breakfast. It is worth going around the corner and pay for one.

Ann Arbor needs an upscale lodging option. This hotel is clean and the staff are professional, but it is a 3 star at best. There just isn't anything that stands out about it. The only thing that saves it is the location. Although clean, it feels like it hasn't been updated since the mid 80's.

Me and my girlfriend walked off the street at 10 at night and they had a room available for us. When you walk in it feels like you car going back in time. The lobby is lovely and their is elegant music playing, very classy. One the way to your room there are some very cool pictures hung up all over. When you get into the room it is very cozy and really nice. The number one best thing in the room are the beds. They feel like you are sleeping on a cloud and it is wonderful. The bathroom are amazing, very modern. There is even a TV built into the mirror in the bathroom. The only things I have to say is the shower takes a little bit to warm up (But it is an older building and we were on the 4th floor). Also don't trust the vending machines. Other then those two things the entire experience was wonderful and 110% worth the money for location and comfort.

The location of this hotel is perfect; nestled between the university and downtown, everything is within walking distance. Otherwise little stands out, and the premium price you pay here can only be justified by the location. The hotel came across as almost quaint. The doors have metal keys instead of the magnetic stripe locks most hotels use. And this matches the decor. Unfortunately this old design goes as far as the doors, which seem to let a lot of notice through; I could hear people walking and talking in the corridor. There's a complementary breakfast which is "continental" in an American sense, not a European sense. Eggs, fried potato chunks and some form of meat are included: I was very impressed with the sausages I had one morning, but these were replaced by mediocre bacon the next day. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and I'd be happy to stay here again if I needed to be close to downtown. Otherwise if you're willing to drive into town, there are more economical options on the outskirts of Ann Arbor.

The building has a classic hotel look and feel. What really made the difference here is the staff. Right from the time I parked my car. They were professional, personal, and super kind. The only thing I would warn future guests about is the bathroom. My bathroom has a step hidden behind the door. It is behind the door so you see it until you start to walk in the bathroom and possibly break a toe. I still give the place 5 stars!

A nice hotel. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Friendly, helpful personnel. The breakfast includes eggs and bacon. Great location. There was no charge for the valet parking.

Eve has a fantastic wait staff and great happy hour. Will definitely return.

We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant, Eve. The good was exceptional and drinks were original with a Mexican influence. Upscale and comfortable. We will definitely return.

I think that the services and accomodations offered were of quality and the decor gives a very comforting appeal.

This was a quaint and simple hotel. It was very clean, but just not a lot to offer especially for what you pay. The rooms were also small for what you pay and that was disappointing. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant inside was great but again overpriced for the portions that you get. The complimentary valet parking was nice, but no guy greeted us at the door like they told us, we had to go in. Also, the complimentary breakfast wasn't that good. For what you pay (I paid $270 for the king Parlor suite) the room was a bit small. It has a TV, a little bar counter with a sink and a small portable coffee maker. There was a small sofa and a chair and a table and a king sized bed, which was nice, but because of the limited space it felt cramped. It has an old fashioned heater at the base of a wall, but it does have a thermostat. The problem was that the room was a little chilly probably because even with the closed window cold air was getting through, so we turned it up. When we turned it up to 77 from 73. It got a little warmer but then the heater was making such a horrendous noise that we turned it back down. The bathroom was nice and had a nice rain-like shower head and a pointless but interesting TV screen built into the mirror (o. O) but the water did not get super hot. And I like my showers hot. Also there wasn't much to offer besides a simple, small lobby area with a fireplace and the restaurant. There was no pool, no jacuzzi, not much else.

Food at eve was good, good service just a little slow.

This is for eve, the restaurant inside the Bell Tower Hotel. While the food was wonderful, the service left something to be desired. Our waiter was not very attentive and after my group made a small mess, he did not clean our table. I expected better, especially considering the price of our meal.

The room was excellent and tidy, bed was super comfortable. Got one of the best nights sleep ever.

Nice classic hotel. Beautifully renovated bathrooms. Rooms need some updating. Excellent, courteous service by all staff from front desk to valet to housekeeping.

Location is the only real perk. The rooms were clean but REALLY outdated, tiny, and oddly arranged. There is a large step up into the bathroom. Strange and dangerous in a dark room. The breakfast buffet was rather terrible. Really nice staff who worked hard to make you happy but they really have so much working against them.

Luxury Hotel but extremely noisy room due to very bad windows, Air-conditioner did not work.

Most people are surprised to discover the Universites Iconic bell tower is open to the public. More to the point you can take the elevator up to the top floor and then stairs for 2-3 more. It's not handicap accessible. It's also only open M-F when school is in session, the space is unlocked by the Carillon player from 12-1pm. The musician unlocks the space and doesn't always make an appearance so it's a treat to check out if you're down town at the right time. IF you want to check this out wear ear plugs if you're noise sensitive. The area has chain link fencing around the outside at the top. It has ever since a regent lept to her death in 1987 (true story).

While the charm may turn off those looking for a more modern hotel (you get an actual key here! ), I absolutely loved my stay at the Bell Tower. I had the good fortune of returning to Ann Arbor for a wedding over the summer. The location of the hotel, especially for alums of the University of Michigan, really cannot be beat. It's essentially the only hotel actually on campus. They do offer complimentary valet (yes, FREE) and a free breakfast. The breakfast is OK, but it's hard to complain about free. The room offered a comfortable stay and again, had that charm you just don't get in a big chain hotel. The staff was incredibly accommodating and nice. Very warm and welcoming. I do suggest booking early, as this is a small hotel with limited availability, especially during big events on campus (looking at you football).

This hotel is wonderful! Old school service — great ambiance — wonderful dinner at Mercy's — well worth it.

One of the worst costumer service experiences. They were very rude to me and one of the managers went out of her way to make it a horrible experience. I was going to visit the downtown bars on my birthday, and I wanted to stay here because of its location. When I checked in, the clerk noticed that it was my birthday, and told me that there was no partying. I told her that I was not planning on it. I had a couple people come to the suite while I was getting ready/ showering and stuff, and they had the TV on and were talking. The manager came to the room, knocked on the door and told me that we were being kicked out. There was no loud music, it wasn't late and there wasn't lot of people, they just saw people come in the room and because it was my birthday they assumed. They wouldn't refund the hotel, and they threatened to tow my car which was in their valet parking. Even thought I'm sure that stuff like that happens at hotels, they were very unfriendly and told me to take them to court to get my hotel room money back! They even charged me for some DVD that was missing in the room. Take my advice, go somewhere else in Ann Arbor! Don't go to the Bell Tower Hotel.

Wonderful staff. Lots of charm. The food at the Earle is to die for. The rooms are a bit small with small TVs but still a VERY nice hotel.
