First time at a Motel 6, ever. Good location. Was given a handicapped room, not a problem. Room was so plain! Everything functioned, fairly clean, maybe a bit shabby, but ok. However, very bad smell. Like human urine. Hard to get used to, so not staying longer than one night. Thought it a little overpriced.

Stayed overnight with some friends and their dog while we were visiting Ann Arbor. Didn't spend much time in the room besides sleeping, but I feel it was reasonably priced. A/C worked great, beds weren't uncomfortable, water heated up quickly. One complaint would be that the bathroom only had a bar of soap, no shampoo.

Night clerk was pleasant and welcoming. That’s about all of the positives I can give. Room was fairly clean and the mattresses were relatively new. Door lock was difficult to engage and the door didn’t fit in the jamb; light shown through from the outside. Bottom sheets didn’t stay in the bed. I called to ask for an extra blanket and was told they didn’t have any. Day two-maid service didn’t leave any wash cloths and we had to call to have them brought to the room. Day 3-again — no wash cloths. This time I went to the front office to complain and the night clerk loaded me down with towels and a blanket. We’ll be paying the extra money to stay in an upgraded hotel next time. No more Motel 6 for us.

Floors are extremely dirty and brings dirt from your socks or feet into the bed, front desk morning staff is extremely rude. Except for one gentleman with glasses Maurice I believe his name was. He did a good job with servicing our family. The people apart of Housekeeping were very kind also! with the price being so high you guys should offer some type of breakfast and shouldn’t charge so much for the microwave and refrigerator for a motel that houses the people that it does. It is very convienant that you guys accept cash as a payment.

Very nice clean room. I asked the 'front desk' if the Motel is new, because all the hardware in the room was in such excellent condition, and I was surprised when I was told that the Motel had been in the same location for over ten years. I was also impressed that the management agreed to return a charger for my electric shaver, that I had left in room 104, at no cost to me. I look forward to my next visit.

I have stayed at many Motel 6 motels over the last several years. I have had positive experiences, and have recommended Motel 6 to many friends looking for an affordable place to stay. I have to say, this was my first disappointing experience. The room was dirty! The floors were disgusting. I very clearly requested housekeeping, with special attention to the floor, after our first night there, but no one came to clean; the towels were not replaced, no one even opened the door even though we were gone all day, and late into the night. Fortunately, the front desk staff allowed us to move to a different room. The new room was better, but not by much. As my daughter got into bed, she found an unopened wine bottle under her pillow! What? The sink took forever to drain in BOTH rooms. Everything felt grungy. This motel needs aTHOROUGH CLEANING! On the positive side, the front desk staff was friendly. The location was great.

The staff was the best part. They were great. The room was clean and I like that there are no carpets. However, it would be great to see a little refrigerator and microwave to make stays of more than one night more comfortable. I missed having someplace to refreeze my ice packs and for small leftovers from eating out. Also, charging for Wi-Fi is bad form. That alone will keep me from staying at this property in the future. A reliable internet connection is pretty much expected. The connection was good but with $6 per day, I wasn't going to pay for more than one day.

My wife and I stayed at the Motel 6 in Ann Arbor in April 2018. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. My wife mistakenly made 2 separate reservations for our 2 night stay. Michelle at the front desk not only fixed that, but she gave us a room with a refrigerator. The decor was modern, and the room clean. My wife and I are both pleased and would stay there again.

This place is great. Cheap. And very clean! I would def reccomend this to anyone staying in Ann Arbor who wants a cheap, clean and safe area to stay in. I'll def be back! Thanks for the great service motel 6!

Staff was Friendly, Helpful, Personable and Professional. Room was clean and ready for use. I have seen reviews on here how terrible this hotel is and I can state for sure that they are completely false. The bad reviews seem to come from people who think that by renting at a budget hotel they will get Ritz-Carlton amenities. If you want upscale fixtures and features please go to those establishments. If you want a clean, dry, comfortable room that is a GREAT value for your dollar then this is definitely your place.

The room was dirty. The floor was not swept and there was dirt and other debris on the floor. The bathroom counter and menus were also dirty. This is my primary complaint. I understand that Motel 6 is low-price lodging, but I still expect my room to be clean. The door also was difficult to latch on my room. When closing the door, I had to pull it shut with a lot of force and jiggle the handle a few times, otherwise the deadbolt would not engage and the door could be pushed open. Luckily I did not have anything stolen, but I did not feel very secure in my room after discovering my door wasn't properly closing.

The front desk people, specifically Maurice, Denise and Lala have excellent customer service skills. Maurice is always sure to call within a few minutes to see if the room is good. Maintenance needs to do several small fixes throughout the complex. Housekeeping is fair, clean rooms but sometimes tub could be better.

They were a port in a storm… literally… at the end of my shift I found 7 inches of snow on the ground & promises of more to come AND a 50 mile ride home… They had a heated room in close proximity to my work for a reasonable rate. The desk clerk was very helpful & accomodating… But for some inexplicable reason the Manager (who was not on the premises) didn't think it was important to have the parking areas plowed more than once. There was approximately 4 + inches of snow in all areas around the Motel. I used a snow shovel I keep in my car to shovel a path from my car to the covered area of sidewalk to gain access to the room… This was my 1st stay at this chain and didn't know what to expect. NO carpeting in the room… ICE machine near lobby not the room… asked for a wake-up call that they called 45 min. Before the time I asked (NOT Helpful) … Soiling in freezer of fridge? … NOT having parking areas plowed after snow subsided… HONESTLY… next time I'm going to spend the extra $30 +/ — and stay somewhere else… where the customer's satisfaction is actually deemed important.

Location was perfect for us! However, the rooms are going down hill. Not as clean anymore, floors and walls were dirty, hair in the bathroom Floor and bathtub. Sink and bathtub wasn't cleaned and bathtub wouldn't drain. Staff was great, very friendly. We stay at your location in Ann Arbor on state st everytime we go on vacation, wasn't very happy this last visit. Hope this helps to change the upkeep with housekeeping and we can visit again if changes are made.

People were very nice to deal with. Helped us out more than they had to. Rooms are very roomy. Quiet and was our favorite place to stay over the other area hotels. Would stay with you again. Thanks for being there.

The room was nice and clean. I wish our room had a refrigerator and a microwave. You had to pay extra for that. All rooms should come with that. But other than that, we enjoyed our stay! I totally would stay here again in the future!

It took a while for us to be greeted when we walked in the front. Maybe 10 minutes. The man was nice. The room I booked was suppose to be a queen but the bed was definitely a full so I had to pay more to switch. The room was nice but the refrigerator was leaking (room 421). The thing I was most upset about was that we were not given any warning that there was going to be construction going on in the parking lot the next morning. We woke up to load truck noises and we struggled to get out the parking lot. A warning would have been nice.

The service was great. The room itself was good except there was a burn in the mattress, and the bedding was very thin. I would stay there again because the price was right considering I had to travel on short notice.

On a recent cross-country trip from Oregon to Michigan and back (via California), we stayed at 15 different Motel 6 locations. Generally, they fall into one of two categories – “a decent stay for a decent price, ” or “a sleep cheap and we know it. ” The former are well-kept properties where service and cleanliness are top-notch; the latter are places that fail to perform routine maintenance or cleaning, and/or fail to in some other manner. The Motel 6 in AA was inbetween – we stayed here 9 days (visiting family), and it was a great location (we have relatives in Saline and AA). Staff was very friendly and helpful – they gave us a weekly rate (not available online for some reason). Most of the facilities were in good order, including the laundry. This was an old Knights Inn, and remodeling was uneven – as was the floor (awkward moving around at night). Housekeeping was inconsistent – only in our room every 2-3 days (and while I don’t mind that for towels and the bed, the trash was getting very full). Finally, the Internet was horrible – we lost connection several times, and could not get on some other times. It finally did work OK the last couple of days of our stay.

My husband and I stayed in room 209 for one night. They allowed us to check in early with no additional cost. The room was clean, very minimalist, and everything was in working order. Beds were clean, linens and towels smelled fresh, and the heater worked quickly. Check in and out were smooth, no hassles, and a kind and courteous staff member up front meant no waiting.

Location is super convenient, right off I-94 and maybe 20 minutes from Detroit Metro Airport. Rooms have been recently (if cheaply) upgraded in Motel 6's new minimalist studio style. This meant clean, no odors although couldn't hide signs of age and wear around doors, walls. A fair bit of sound bleed from the next room. Not horrible, but noticeable. Check in was easy. Clerk friendly and efficient. Overall, compared to other Motel 6's (my choice when hitting the road with pets due to cost and convenience) it was above average, not spectacular. You get exactly what you'd expect at this price point. No more, but certainly no less. Picking on little flaws (they're not hard to find) or comparing it to pricier options is counterproductive. I'd stay here again if I was just looking for a place to crash for a night.

The rooms are clean and the staff friendly and responsive. The heat and fan worked well. The deadbolt on our door would not retract. We were given a new room and the keys brought to us immediately with an apology. The outlet near the sink did not work in the 2nd room. General maintenance may need to be improved. We appreciated being able to book a room with a microwave and refrigerator.

The room was nice. Carpet would have been better. And I know it's a motel but because it's Ann Arbor I thought maybe I wouldn't see this. But there were a lot of shady looking people around. Which can make you feel unsafe. I know its hard to really monitor who you rent a room to. But it may be worth looking in to. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay. Also, the room was more than I originally booked it for online. Which is why I stayed the one night instead of two like I planned.

It was close to my office and was also very near to McDonald's, subway, taco Bell etc, so didn't have any problem for food as I didn't have car. Room was neat and well maintained. I took room with fridge and microwave which were working fine. Overall I enjoyed my stay there.

Stay for a week! The hotel rooms are amazing for the price, as compared to the days inn. We got a much better hotel for literally half the price we were prepared to pay at the horrible days inn, in Ann Arbor. We will definitely be staying here again. Friendly, Hospitable staff.

Well it's one of the nicer two star hotels. It's really hit or miss sometimes depending on the room but majority of the time the rooms are clean and it's usually not too noisy. It's 1 story and the price is reasonable. I stayed here several times and it's my preferred lower option compared to other 2 stars in Ann Arbor.

The room was OK, clean and comfortable, but the lighting inside is dim and the parking lot needs a LOT of work. Huge chuck holes 8 to 12 inches deep! The key system seems to need work as well as my original key would not work when I checked in, but the front desk brought me a new one. The new key didn't work at mid night two nights later and I had to drive back to the front desk to get one.

I was attending a course in Ann Arbor and this was the least expensive I could find at $122 after tax. After staying I wish that I would have just spent the extra $50. Room reeked of smoke, floor was sticky, TV batteries were dead, no fridge, no coffee maker, huge pot holes in parking lot/driveway and someone was pounding on our door before 8am it didn't feel very safe. The bed was at least comfortable and the sheets looked clean. I guess it's a place to lay your head but I won't be back.

Room was well arranged, however there was strong smoke-smell. Need to improve in cleaning especially in the restroom area. The location is quiet and safe and convenient to reach my course place, worship places, and shopping areas. I like the most this one. Thank you. Could provide a good microwave and a cattle to boil water. Could be more committed to the advertisement regarding the free continental breakfast, because there was no breakfast as it was advertised.

The staff that we dealt with were extremely pleasant and did their very best to be helpful. Sadly, the overall state of the property is quite run down. Although the beds were comfortable and clean, the floors were cracked and damaged, the rooms smelled of smoke despite being posted non-smoking. Air conditioners worked well. We really appreciated the dog friendly, no extra charge policy. There are nice green spaces to walk the dogs. All in all, okay for the price, but not for the picky traveller.

This facility met our needs and offered good value for the rooms. Locating the motel was difficult due to an inoperable light fixture located near the main road. The beds were very comfortable. No shampoo nor hair conditioner was made available in the rooms.

Great rooms considering it's one of the cheapest options in Ann Arbor. Very clean. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Ann Arbor cheaply.

Couldn't stay a whole hour. It's in more of an industrial area, a little ghetto, further from the scene. The main building looks nice but the outside looks bad. Our door wouldn't lock without 2 people pushing on it. Bathroom door wouldn't close. Four dead bugs on floor and a spider/web. It wasn't swept. It smelled like wet dog. Floor was chipping. Crumbs on the head board. The refrigerator was leaking water across the floor and toward the bathroom. Only soap supplied, not mini shampoo and conditioner bottles. Pool is a LOT smaller than it looks in the pics. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because front desk woman was understanding of why we didn't want to stay here, almost like she was used to it. She was kind. Went to another hotel about 1.5 miles away and it's a little more expensive but TRULY worth it!

If you are handicapped beware! no walk in tubs and very little as far as chairs. Roll under sink is nice and room is clean. Toilets are not the taller ones, but there is a handrail.

This motel wasn't bad for the price. The main issue we had was that the "designated" smoking area was right outside our room, and a lot of the smell got in our room. Otherwise it was very clean and very satisfactory for a one night stay. Plenty of parking, cute room design.

If you would like the convenience and safety of parking in front of your own room and you are not handicapped, you should let them know that before they assign your room. You might expect that each quest would park in front of their own room. But, for some reason, at this location several rooms have handicapped parking spaces and you will not be able to park in front of your room if they assign you to one of those. I'm not sure who the space is reserved for in that case (a non-paying guest? )

Wi-Fi sucks. Location is only good thing about the motel.

No Frills, nice rooms. Easy access. Close to University. Would definitely stay there again. Bur wish they had free Wi-Fi! Seems crazy not to these days.

Clean, quiet, comfortable, convenient, and inexpensive. What a motel should be. One big reason I like Motel 6 is that I prefer a room without carpet! The bare floor is so much cleaner, and doesn't absorb odors. I agree with the reviewer who said the Wi-Fi was the one thing needing improvement — — I was able to check my email, but that's about all. Not a real big problem, but then it also ought not to be too hard to fix.

Had to stay here for two nights and it is a really nice, clean place to stay. The bathroom was clean. Hot/cold water was working great as well as the TV and the heater. Over all this place is a good place to stay.

I was very happy with the night I spent at the Motel 6 in Ann Arbor. I've stayed at other Motel 6es in the past and they were a bit "dumpy. " I wasn't expecting very much but the price was so good, and it was so close to the place I had to be in the morning, that I figured staying there one night wouldn't kill me. But was I pleasantly surprised, from check-in to check-out! Checking in was a breeze. The room was clean and obviously recently refurbished in a quiet but amusing retro-60s theme. The flooring was a smooth surface, maybe cork? instead of carpet. The bed was comfy and the sheets clean. The lights and A/C worked, I got hot water in the shower and sink right away, and I couldn't hear a thing from the rooms around me (it was quiet). There is a McDonald's in walking distance so I got breakfast there. Really, this is a terrific motel. Next time I'm in Ann Arbor, I'll stay there again. I've already been telling my friends.
