Faces north, not main parking lot, separate living room and bedroom with a door. Large dorm size fridge, microwave, coffee maker and bar sink. Closet in both living and bedroom. Free bag of microwave popcorn, bottled water, coffee. Desk, easy chair, sofa, and TV in living room and TV in bedroom. Plug ins by bed above nightstand so you can plug in CPAP or electronic devices. Free breakfast included. Easy access to casino.

Room was clean, bathrooms had everything needed. Fridge and microwave was nice in the room. Wi-fi good enough for downloading and streaming. Wide selection of breakfast. Beds comfy with wall digital heating and cooling.

It was a nice hotel. Breakfast was good, beds were moderately comfy. I have no complaints. I enjoyed their shareable library in the lobby.

Traveling North I stopped here going and was so good returned there coming home. Rooms clean, fresh fruit out along with hot chocolate, coffee, and cookies all evening. Breakfast included eggs. BISCUIT AND GRAVY, WAFFLE MIX, Bagels, donuts, dry cereals. Juices too. Fresh fruit incl bananas, oranges, and apples. Something for every taste.

We loved the hotel but service was absolutely terrible. We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. Our 2nd day we went down to breakfast and left our do not disturb sign on our door. We came back from breakfast and there were 3 housekeepers outside of our door in the hallway getting ready to clean rooms. I said hello to them and immediately took our do not disturb sign off of our door at 10:30 AM knowing we were leaving in about 5 minutes and they could then clean the room. I set the sign inside on the desk, we grabbed our things and set out for the day. We returned at about 5:30 PM or so and our room was not cleaned. We had no clean towels, no shampoo, and the $5 gratuity we left for housekeeping was still sitting on the counter. We called down to the front desk and told of our situation. We were told that on 2 night stays that the rooms are not cleaned. We mentioned we needed towels and shampoo and she said we were welcome to come down and get those from her at the front desk. We thought this was odd. Why didn't they tell us this at check-in that the room would not be cleaned so we could plan ahead to get fresh towels and shampoo? The next morning when we went to check out we mentioned that it would have been nice to have been informed that the rooms would not be cleaned so that we could plan ahead. They said that they do clean the rooms. I asked why ours was not cleaned and they said our do not disturb sign was on our door at 1 PM. That is a flat-out lie.

Everyone at the hotel were extremely nice and accommodating! Casino was awesome too. Prob had the best sleep ever on their bed.

Our room was nice, we booked it to stay for New Years. Had a great time at casino.
Although our room turned out to be very cool. Like really, our heater in our room did not work properly.
We had it set on 90°, and it only heated room up to 63°.
And when it did run it was so noisy there was no sleeping…
And to top it off, the fire alarm went off at @ 6:00 am. Spoke with staff, They gave us a small discount on our room.

I'm currently here, checking out in an hour. Just went down for breakfast. I just want to preface that I'm paying $185 a night in Northwood, IA, for a room that's not a suite, which is ridiculous. I get it, it's a attached to a Mickey Mouse casino, but that doesn't justify $185 a night. I at least expected to be wowed by the breakfast. The eggs tasted like sawdust, they had no pastry items left, so they basically had a nice new remodeled breakfast area to serve cereal and male your own waffles. And the worst part was the breakfast staff. It was like they were purposely banging around the glassware when they cleared plates and washed the dishes. Dear Country Inn: if you want to switch to glassware over Styrofoam, give your staff some training. Room was fine, checkout was early, should be noon, especially attached to a casino. Worth maybe $75 a night, certainly not $185. If you really need a casino fix, you can fly to Vegas for that. And I imagine there will be a "response from the owner" soon that will be a canned statement from Carlson about how they are sorry for my experience and they strive to be the best and hope I will give them another try. Let's see how long that takes…

Very nice hotel in the middle of no where. Was very quite considering there is a casino attached to it. Nice and clean. Great staff.

The room was pretry nice, but they just transitioned to being a smoke free hotel and the rooms still kind of smelled like cigarettes.

We stay here each year around Independence Day. We add this with a night at the casino and the buffet dinner to end our vacation. The hotel is clean and nice. The kids like to play in the pool. Biscuits and gravy is the favorite breakfast choice for the dads in our group, and this hotel delivers.

We booked a hotel room for a wedding and was told that the room was non smoking. When we got there and got up to our room it smelled like someone had just smoked an entire pack of cigarettes in there. We were only in the room for a minute and our eyes and throats were burning. When we went to tell the front desk they told us that there was no way it could smell like that since all the rooms were non smoking and they had no other room to give us. We ended up paying $200 for a suite across the street at the Holiday Inn because it was all they had left. Not a good experience at all.

We stayed at the Country Inn & Suites because we were attending a wedding reception at the casino. We traveled 3 1/2 hours for the event, and despite arriving at noon the staff had our room ready which was a blessing because we needed somewhere to change for the wedding. The staff was very helpful, and accommodations were very nice at a reasonable price. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that needs a place to stay in the area.

Very clean hotel with helpful and courteous staff. Lower floor room was a bit noisy. Continental breakfast was great — biscuits were delicious. Casino is attached with a large buffet, Subway and Burger King. I would come back for sure.

If I could give this place a 0, I would. First, they refuse to give my children and I a non-smoking room. Then, charge me twice when I do change room, after it made my son sick. He throws up, just now (1230am), so I call for bedding and with much attitude the lady says she'll get here when she gets here. When she arrives, she complains about her week as if my stay wasn't already horrible and then says, "Next time, try to get him to throw up in this, " and hands me a tiny trash can. Her name is Beth and the first lady to refuse to provide me with a non-smoking room is Amanda. My in-laws had a terrible time as well.

I was very happy with my stay here. The room was pretty nice and the beds & pillows were very comfortable. There's a nice, flat screen TV with plenty of channels. Wi-Fi worked well. Room temperature was perfect due to the thermostat that I could adjust. The breakfast was pretty great with fresh, hot foods and waffles, oatmeal, and yogurt plus options for toppings. There were many more options for breakfast, too many to list. One of the better breakfasts I've seen at a hotel. It is conveniently located next to the gas station and attached to the casino, which had two fast food restaurants inside.

Nice rooms. Good location off interstate,. Fast internet,. Pillows were kind of crumby though decent bed. Average continental breakfast at best.

The room was very nice, the continental breakfast had a good selection, the elevator was slow and kind of scary. The people working there were so nice. A great place to stay.

I got a comped room compliments of the casino. Was excited for a nice time. So I called and made reservations with my credit card and everything seemed great. When I get there, I proceed to the counter with my I. D. And credit card that I phoned in with earlier and they say my credit card is no good. They tell me I need a credit card with 73.30 available for a damage deposit. Or $200 cash. They assure me the credit card will not be charged. So I drive 20 minutes to the nearest Wal-Mart and I buy a prepaid credit card for $80. I drive 20 minutes back and give them the card. They scan it and I got my free room. In the morning, I check the credit card balance and it was taken out. I ask the front desk upon check out when I can expect a refund. She tells me hopefully within thirty days… wow. My free room costed me over $100… Not satisfied. Not recommended.

It so far has been a huge zero. At this point, I am frustrated and angry. Tried to book on line, looked like it worked then got a little message that said it failed, try again later. Tried again later. This time it showed part of my original reservation, but would not allow me to continue. I tried calling them, then no one answered the phone. Back to the website. This time I did get a confirmation number but instead of the 2 adults per room that I input, my confirmed reservation shows 1 adult per room with 2 children in each room. Except for the way we may occasionally behave, there are no children trying to go on this trip. Tried to update on the website. I can't. Call the hotel 3 times, no answer. If this is the pre-event customer service, I can hardly wait for the visit. Especially since I chose a reservation that does not refund to get a better price. What a racket!

We spent on night at the Country Inn and Suites in Northwood, IA. Very clean rooms. Staff very friendly. Breakfast was very good. Couldn't ask for more and the price couldn't be beat. Also nice to go to the casino without stepping out in the cold.
