Easy access to nearby major roads, although the entry isn't very clear; we passed it twice trying to find the hotel originally. The room was clean, but the refrigerator didn't work and the toilet leaked significantly. Over the course of our single night stay, we saturated two towels with the water that leaked from near the base of the toilet. We understand and appreciate that this is a budget hotel, but the toilet issue is the main reason for our low rating. On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable.

I was very disappointed with this motel. My mom and I stayed for a night and I asked for non-smoking rooms. How can a motel have non-smoking rooms on the same floor as smoking rooms? I think it was a VERY poor design. Whenever I would leave to go to our car, the hallway reeks with smoke. I wanted to move to a different room but I would have to pay extra. I'm sorry but we shouldn't have to pay because we were upset with room. We payed for a non-smoking room and ended up staying with smokers. I would never stay at this motel, until they fix the design where there are no non-smoking rooms on the third floor with the smokers.

Would I stay again? Yes, but… It's Motel 6. It "looks" dirty because it's old but it was clean enough for the price. There are no "comforts" so we brought our own. The mattress was very comfortable and the building quiet. We slept very well. We used our own pillows and blankets. Sheet and pillows were clean. No fridge — we used a rolling cooler with ice. There is a microwave in the waiting area by the front desk. The hallway and our bathroom had a mild old cigarette smell, in a non-smoking room, but it was not in the rest of our room. All surfaces (but bedding) are Laminate and Formica. I personally liked this (for a motel room) because you're a swifter and disinfectant wipe from KNOWING that it's clean. Our room key de-magnetized and replacing it was no problem. The staff were courteous. Shower was hot. Not pretty but functional. We slept here, we didn't hang out here. We saved money on the room and and spent it elsewhere… on fun things ☺

It's clean friendly simple and have smoking rooms available plus dog friendly. No breakfast but they don have hot coffee for those on the run… enjoy your stay.

Great experience. Check in was quick and easy and the girl was pleasant. Room was clean and comfortable. Great value for the money. Always appreciate the pet friendly policy.

Terrible. Floors were so dirty, if you walked without socks dirt stuck to your feet. No shampoo, lotion, bar soap or anything provided. No coffee or coffee maker. Sheets had dog hair and human hair in them. Cigarette burns in the sheets. Weird crusty stain on pillow. Sink had so much hair in it. The drain was broke in the bathroom. The toilet paper roll was not replaced, there was a quarter of a roll left. Disgusting. I will say the decor is nice, the room looked good but it was so gross. I didn’t even wanna stay there but had paid $90. It wasn’t worth it. I definitely do not recommend Don’t stay here and waste your time.

The toilet seal at base is leaking. The shower has black mold growing in chalking and tub faucet needs replacement. I could smell cigarette smoke coming through walls/venting in bathroom of room The walls in elevator, hallways and stairwell needs washing to remove soil and hand prints. Stairs had dog dropping on step during my entire 5 day stay which had been tracked onto carpet. TV remote control with volume/channel functionality was switched. Weird. Front desk staff very accommodating. Housekeeping staff very nice although a few were unable to speak any English, regardless, did an excellent job in replacement of supplies and straightening of room.

Busy intersection but good shopping. Wild berry is amazing. Their service sucks tho. Decent if your not picky.

The service was excellent, room was extremely clean. The location was very quiet and very close to places to eat.

I was very disappointed with this establishment. For the price I paid for 3 nights an traveling from miles away I expected to at least have a microwave in my room & a refrigerator. I ha d a hard time locating the building when the GPS said you have arrived at your destination. There was not a sign on or near the front of the building to let me know this was even a hotel. The one an only sign was on the side street in a different parking lot by a small plaza not even in the same property as the hotel. I had to get out of thw car an walk around what I though was an apartment building just to discover this was actually the hotel! Very disappointed Motel 6! Do better!

We had stayed at this hotel two years ago when it was a Days Inn. Since Motel 6 has taken over, it is greatly deteriorated. While the facility is generally clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff was pleasant, it has no amenities. NO DRESSER, NO SIDE CHAIR, NO BREAKFAST, NO ROOM COFFEE MAKER, even NO SHAMPOO! The only seating are two small very uncomfortable chairs with wood chairs and backs at a small table under the TV, that you can bump your head on when you stand-up. The keycard system constantly had problems, and we had to have our key cards replaced all four nights. We have family living in the area, and will be returning in the future to Libertyville, but we will NOT stay here again.

I was in room 231 and it had water all over the floor. Guess it was coming from the air conditioner. Went to front desk after I came back from work got another room 229 I believe. Same problem and in 229 the shower barely worked. Didn’t even feel like going down because I figured it was going to be the same problem. I feel as if I should get a refund or free days. I was very upset. Got the room because I had work early morning in Vernon hills and I live in Chicago. Didn’t want to take that early drive. Guess I should’ve.

The location is great in a lovely section of Libertyville and close to my work assignment. The exterior was charming and well built room was clean and comfortable. I was in a no smoking room but smoking was allowed in other pars of the hotel so there was a smell of smoke in the building.

As the saying goes you get what you pay for. The frontdesk people are very nice and helpful. The rooms are pretty plain it does have a flat screen TV and the bed is not two bad and now does not have no clock no kleenex only two small bath towels hand towels and wash clothes and the rooms need a lot of repairs.

The motel looks super nice from the outside but once in the room it all went downhill. After pulling the blankets back to crawl into bed, we discovered there was hair all in the bed making it seem as though the sheets were not washed. After calling the front desk she brought us clean sheets, and we were expected to make the bed ourselves. The next morning we discovered the shower had never been washed down either! There was still hair stuck to the walls! Then the outlet in the bathroom didn't work either. So frustrating when you have something important to get ready for! We definitely will not be returning, and encourage others not to unless they want to clean their own rooms.

The staff is astounding! very helpful and capable, and they addressed every concern I had. Andrea is the most helpful front desk person I have ever had the pleasure to interact with — but they ALL deserve accolades for their professionalism! It IS too bad there were so many Issues with the TV service — and Wi-Fi — that were beyond their ability to address. I had to change rooms as the first room was malodorous and the heat/ ac didn't work properly, and Andrea offered an Immediate solution — as well as helped me map out my Weekend there. KUDOS for Hiring those women on the Front line!

We had issues with the hot water not working right at times. Television signal was not too clear. These were minor, though, The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was great and professional. We visit Libertyville, Ill, often and plan to stay there on all future visits there.

I'd have given it 4 stars if the television reception had been any good, and if shampoo was provided. The room was pretty Spartan, bed was good, table space okay, bathroom fine, heater good and glad to have a fridge. Room was clean and decent size. Location of room was excellent — 1st floor near lobby and outside entrance. Location of motel good for our needs. Room price was great!

My experience was terrible. I walked in and there was a old crusty towel wrapped around the smoke detector on the ceiling. Then I look around the room was used. Dirty towels on the floor and trash in the garbage and the sheets and blanket was dirty. I was disgusted but I always bring my own blanket when I travel so I used my own. I am in the navy and traveled over 1500 miles and got to the motel late and had to get up in 4 hours for a graduation and I even went to down to com0lain and the lady tells me yeah out cleaning guy plays with children in the room while they clean sorry. That was all so I went back to my room and just suffered through the mess. I left and left a complaint and again it was as if they did not care like it was normal. The fact that my safety was impaired due to the fact that they would not come up and take the towel off my smoke detector is inexcusable. Not happy and I plan to ask the naval base to no longer allow the military members to stay. I paid for a room to rest in and I could hardly stand being there due to the staff's lack of care and lack of upkeep. Very dissatisfied customer, Timothy Christopherson.

There is a maid working at this hotel who vacuums too early in the morning (8am) right in front of our door. In addition, she bumped into my computer and nearly broke it while cleaning the room. Please keep this maid away from us. She is passive aggressive and we do not feel safe having her around. Other than this, the entire staff are very hospitable and polite. Everything about this hotel is good except for the aforementioned maid.

Most spartan place I've been to since I stayed in India. Totally clean, though, beds and sheets just fine. Nothing else, though. The hotel supplied soap, but not shampoo. Heater worked fine. The price was right.

Very comfortable rooms. Staff is very caring and accommodating. Pet friendly with no extra charge. Many places it costs quite a bit. We are very happy with this location. Many places to eat near by and a few deliver.

No valet service, but there are luggage carts. Rooms appear to be clean. Towels and soap are provided, and the doors have dead bolts for added security. There's a gas station/mini mart adjoining the motel property.

I quite liked that there was no carpeting in the room. I spilled a chocolate shake on the floor and the lack of carpeting meant I could clean it up myself instead of having to call the front desk to take care of it. The place could use some updating in the bathroom and sinks but it was clean and everything worked. I had just two issues with this hotel. One, there was no way to get into the parking lot from the eastbound lane of Buckley Rd or the northbound lane of Milwaukee Ave. That I could find. I had to drive past and turn around to get into the lot. That was annoying but probably not something the hotel can control. The other issue — which is the reason I give four stars instead of five — is the branding on and around the building is completely insufficient. It looks a bit like an apartment complex on the outside and there's two small signs, one on Buckley Rd, which isn't even the address of the place, and one on the wall behind the front desk cubby, which obviously is not visible from the road. It's confusing and I had had a long, tiring day and just wanted to go to sleep, only to be frustrated by trying to figure out I was at the correct place. Add more signs!

If I could give a zero star rating I would. I was only in the hotel for a hour and it was an hour too long. The whole building smelled like a ash tray. The first room I was put in had the window wide open and tons of stink bugs had moved in. The bed looked like it had been "previously enjoyed" it had many stains and the blankets had cigarette burns. After I complained to the front desk they moved me into a "upgraded" room that featured a 1980s mini refrigerator that had trash from the previously occupant in it. But by far the best feature of this new upgraded room was it also included the same bugs from the previous room. I quickly requested my money back and went to the Candlewood 2 miles up the street which is only $15 dollars more and is a very nice place… The only thing Motel 6 in Libertyville has going for it is that it would be the perfect location to film the next Saw movie.

The stay at the hotel was definitely a memorable one. A lot of it due to the fact that every time it seemed like we left our room we had to have our key rekeyed. That was definitely an inconvenience and made it not such a great stay. The only thing that I can say is at least the staff was nice and greeted us every time we came down. Even the hotel maid key did not work for our door. Otherwise the rooms were decent and clean. Another problem was the refrigerator did not work in the room.

Overall I was happy with my stay. I have a few comments. I was in a non-smoking room on a floor where half the rooms were smoking. 1. People clearly smoked in the hall. I could smell that smoke outside my room in the entire hall. I suggest the entire top floor of your motels be made smoking and the other floors be non-smoking to get rid of this problem. 2. The shower rod on my shower was bowed. On one side where the rod was attached the tile was cracked. The shower curtain kept falling from the ends of the rod towards the middle of the rod. I recommend a horizontally straight shower rod. 3. I asked for an iron and ironing board my first night and was told there weren't any. I should have been told there were three of each but that they were out at the moment. I got them the next morning. 4. There is only one Motel 6 sign and it is not very visible. I recommend a LARGE Motel 6 sign be put on the road intersecting the road where the one sign is and the other sign be put in a more visible place. 5. I would like to compliment the women working behind the desk while I was at Motel 6 in Libertyville. They were all friendly and polite. I think one is named Susan. Gabriela and Jessica were both very helpful, especially Gabriela.

We got a room for our son and his family due to a death in the family. It was not our first choice but it was a holiday and no other room was available. The room was not clean, the toilet was surrounded with what looked like pubic hair. Dust from walls or ceiling in closet soiled their clothing. The pool was not functional (empty and broken). There was no continental breakfast or even coffee because "the coffee pot was broken". All in all, if my husband's mother hasn't passed away, we would have never allowed them to stay there. There wasn't even a sign identifying the motel. You must be ashamed of it too. We would like a refund for the two nights spent in this terrible place.

This former upscale hotel is now an upscale Motel 6. Large and spacious rooms, easy check-in and check-out, quite and it seems secure. Lots of convenient parking and even an elevator! The only small problem I had was with the TV remote but I really didn't have time for TV on my stay anyway. It would have been a distraction anyway.

This is not a 5 star property it is also not 200 a night. It is basic motel. But it is an outstanding basic motel. The rooms were large and clean. The beds were nice. The water pressure was great. Would stay again.

The carpets are dirty, the water pressure is really low, rooms where really dark, had a bad odor, trash was on floor when we got there, the TV is fuzzy, smelt like people where smoking weed inside, wholes where burned in my blanket, beds were stiff and uncomfortable, and the staff is unfriendly and half ass there job. 1/10 would not recommend.

Me and My family did not stay at this motel but they still took out my account just because they said it was a no call no show, never heard of that, but how can you take money out someone's account just because they didn't stay at your motel, when you mess with others money or taking out their account thats call theft, and yes I'm piss off, if they had a rate star for zero I will rate them with a zero, you can't be taking nobody's money out their account just because no show, and then I ask her to email me their policy since she said it was on their policy, then she going to tell me to go look on line it will tell you, who she thought she was talking to, boo boo the fool NOT, but I'm let my bank handle it, they got no choice but to send it to them… I just read their policy and it did not say take out people's account if they do not cancel or no show… These folks is a gimmick.

The rooms are not worth the price! The customer service is horrible. Who ever the Mexican lady in the front office needs to learn do do her job. It was 11:50am when she comes and knocks on the door and tells my 9 year old you need to leave or pay 10 an hr. What kind of manager tells a 9 year old that? Why didn't you let the adult know. So she calls the police and had us sitting in the hall way because no one told us we had be to be out at 12 or that we would have to pay 10 every hour we stay to gather our stuff. Very unorganized place and rude staff! Never again will I stay here again.

Good location and a great value. The rooms are very clean and comfy.

Stayed at the inn for 3 nights. The inn was in a convenient location for the event I was attending. However the building's exterior could use some renovations. Not very pleasing to the eye from the road. The room we got seemed clean though. The air conditioner was a bit loud but tolerable. If the exterior got cleaned up a bit I would definitely stay again.

The room was pretty dirty, a large stain on the carpet, the fan was annoyingly loud in the bathroom, there was only 2 lights in the room.

I got bed bug bites from this hotel. I will calling the corporate office. Disgusting hotel. Will not be returning.

We stayed there for my sons graduation. I was a bit unsure after reading all the reviews. And decided to give it the benfit of a doubt. Im glad I did. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The only issue I had was that the television reception was not very good. But, we were only in the room to sleep. I would recommend it to anyone and I have another son going to boot camp in june. We will def. Be returning.

The owners ran this place in to the ground. Plan in advance so you don't get stuck there.

One or the most disgusting hotels I have ever walked into. Went into the room, found peeling wallpaper, and got cobwebs in the face. Don't stay here, for any reason.

The front desk staff was always pleasant and helpful. The location was very convenient for travel back and forth to the Naval Base. The standard continental breakfast was sufficient. The room was very nice and clean with a built in bench and a built in desk. Our room also had a mini refrigerator.
