Went to this hotel many times. It seems to be getting worse and worse over the years. Last year I swam with crickets and a few years before that (when they had a hottub) it was freezing… So I figured the next time I cam it would be different… it was not. The room reaked with smoke and it just looks like a dumpy hotel. They need to update the rooms and take better care of the pool area! I wont be returning.
Can I give minus stars? Nasty hotel, nasty management! Hotels are a hospitality service correct? My husband and I have stayed here many times here over the last several years out of necessity when the Country Inn and Suites is booked up. It has always felt like we’re slumming. The beds are like bricks, linens are rough and worn out. Now I understand why they always have rooms. In addition to the fact that it looks and feels dirty, a no frills hotel, the manager is extremely rude. I made a reservation prior to our arrival today. As we were checking in, he came around the corner and accused us of smoking in our room on our previous visit. NEVER have we smoked in any hotel room. When we told him this, thinking he would apologize, he told us, "you did smoke in the room" very rude. We told him if he was going to accuse us of something we didn’t do, we would somewhere else. He said, Good! So we left and we’re lucky enough Country inn and Suites had A cancellation so we got a room there. A nice room, where so I won't feel dirty when I leave. Won’t feel like I have to go home and disenfect everything.

We had a very pleasant stay. We will stay there again the next time we visit Manteno, Illinois. The hotel was very clean n the staff was friendly and accommodating. They served a Continental breakfast with really good coffee. The location is right off I-57 which is very convenient when traveling.
