Was charged $200 for smoking damage because some random staff member supposedly smelled it outside my door. Was never once confronted by staff about this. Was charged for "damages" BEFORE ever leaving the rm. Terrence the front desk clerk was rude and incredibly ignorant. You'd be better off sleeping in your car than going to this sham of a hotel!

Worst hotel experience ever! The staff is clueless and heartless. I asked for pool towels and was told they didn’t have any, but a Caucasian man came right behind me and the receptionist handed him 4 towels for the pool and when I went back to ask why didn’t she give me those towels, she responded I just found those and they were the last clean ones. I will never stay at another country inn and suites again. Management was no better, they lied and said they’ll look into it but no one has ever called back.

2nd most ridiculous hotel policy I've ever seen. We've stayed here many times over the last 10 years. Until 2 years ago we were very pleased. Then they started going downhill. This time we came for a family reunion. My daughter brought her hermit crab. They wanted to charge us $25/night to keep it with us. I took it up and left it with my sister.

Customer Service is dead! If you are on a work trip and need breakfast… forget it. Can not get it before 7am. When I asked if they would put a bag aside in the morning, was told they would not. When we got into our room, there was no luggage rack. When calling the front desk, their immediate response was we are booked and can not give one. They did eventually supply one. Staff & management were very rude. I own my own business and if I treated my clients this way, I would not have any. I will not be returning to this hotel again. Never been treated so poorly at a Country Inn & Suites.

I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times and had no complaints! This hotel WAS going to be where we stayed every time we came out that way, which is 2-3 times a year but not anymore. Had a problem with reservations, the girl was super rude and was told no supervisor was available, she told us she would be in Monday and would give us a call to solve our issue. We stayed for a week and the manager never called us! The pool was closed one night “due to weather” the sun was shining… they have a washer and dryer, which we were going to use because we were staying for the week, when we asked for change we were told the kid on night shift took the keys home with him so they had no way to get any change… what were they going to do if someone was checking in and paying with cash? Anyway, they skipped cleaning/restocking our room one day… beds weren’t made, dirty towels weren’t picked up, clean towels and coffee weren’t given to us. All these things are minor and I probably wouldn’t have batted an eye at but we were less than pleased when we were only 15 mins into our trip arguing with the lady about our reservations and told a manager would contact us and never did. Very unprofessional. The staff was very rude. Not just the girl on the phone, but ALL of them. There was one girl that worked the desk, wish I would have caught her name but didn’t, she was the only nice/pleasant one. Everyone else seemed like they hated their job and didn’t want to be there.

Good breakfast. Pet friendly 25$ fee gets you nothing other than your pet can sleep in the room. Brought pet in so he didn't have to sit in the car got a call and had to get him because he was unattended even though he was in his crate. If you can't leave your pet in the room how are you supposed to use the facilities that they say are available. You cannot go swimming with ur dog, workout with your dog, and also tried bringing dog to breakfast but was turned away told that dogs were not allowed. Poor training, rules, service staff don't know what is the problem but very disappointing stay.

Very clean. Staff is friendly. Nice pool and breakfast. Also pet friendly! Quiet hotel and very comfortable beds.

Nice little getaway for me it's close to home they got a nice indoor pool the room's always clean we like to bring our kids here for a one-nighter to let them swim during the winter.

We had a group of rooms booked and the front desk staff was incredibly rude about the entire check in process. Three of the boys in our group were sitting quietly in the lobby and she kicked them out of the lobby stating that someone over the age of 18 had to be with them. They were not causing any trouble as they quietly sat waiting for the rest of the group. There were apparently many rules that were posted nowhere and as I have read in many other reviews we had ants in all of our rooms as well. We will not be staying there again and I would suggest you not stay there either.

Please make sure to book elsewhere. They do not hold up to their binding contracts. It is only about money to them and not about customer service. The owners are very rude and do not care about anything but money. There are plenty of other hotels in the area which will treat you better. Please do not give this place any more business until they change the way they treat their customers. If you do not believe me, please review the numerous other reviews indicating the lack of proper customer support.

Never again, this place sucks. Besides the ants all over the bathroom floor and tub, the nonexistent hot water in the shower, the leaking bathroom sink faucet all over the counter, soda machines that did not work, the key card reader to one of the exits ripped off the wall outside so you had to walk around the building to get in. The ridiculous rules like you can't bring a bottle of water into the pool area or bring your 7-pound Chihuahua in the elevator. Also chirping smoke detector in the living room area that kept chirping for no reason and a toilet that didn't flush properly. Do not stay here, the place is a dump and the people that work here seem to not want to work here, but then I don't want to stay here so I don't blame them. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here. Terrible.

Recently had a house fire which made us leave our home for roughly 2-3 months. We were excited to find a hotel that accepts dogs to hold us over until our insurance found a rental home. Stayed 3 full nights with our 2 dogs as our insurance was still searching for a rental with no luck. We were called around 430 and were told we had to leave because 1 of our dogs were on the banned dog list. Mind you we have no house to go back to, no place for our dogs, and no bed to sleep on and to top it all off im 6 months pregnant. Thankfully our insurance was able to get us 1 more night to stay. It completely blows my mind that a business made no efforts to try to accommodate us. Dogs are kept on cages inside the hotel and are kept on leashes while outside. This hotel is a complete ans utter disgrace. If I could rate this hotel a zero I would.

After being here for three days and not having any issues the Hotel is forcing us to leave because of an error on their end not catching that we have Staffordshire Terrier, aka pitbull. My wife is 6 months pregnant and our house caught fire and is being repaired. Even after pleading our case the hotel seems to be worried that a dog in a cage in a room behind a please do not disturb sign and door will bite someone.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff is so unfriendly and unprofessional it is unbelievable. I have never met such a rude staff. They definitely go out if their way to make you feel unwelcome. They say they do so much for military people but my son who was there to say goodbye to our family before his deployment was no even given so much as a thank you. The service was so bad he actually left and went to another hotel. Don't stay at this hotel if you have other options you won't regret it as you can tell by all the bad reviews they have on their staff.

Very friendly clerk, was a problem with how name was listed on the reservation causing difficulty for the clerk checking us in, but she was very friendly about it and resolved the issue. Internet was good, breakfast was good, room was clean, I have no complaints.

The site said they had a hot tub and they did not. They also only served breakfast until 9:30am everything else was great. The rooms were clean, but they did not have a phone.

Made reservations two days ahead of our reserved stay. Less than 24 hours before check in, they cancelled our reservation. Our reservation was for 2 days starting on New Years Eve. When we called them to find out why the cancelled the reservation, we were told that they do not honor reservations for people who live within 20 miles of their hotel on New Years Eve and that it was posted on their website. It is not posted on their web page. We explained that we are in our 60’s and that we wanted to take our 10 year old twin grandchildren there so they could swim. We aren’t the age or type to party in a hotel room on NYE. We would probably be asleep long before midnight. They were rude, condescending, and plain uncaring. We called Corporate and they told us that there was nothing they could do. After seeing their reviews about bad housekeeping, bed bugs, bad food for breakfast, rude maids, and other complaints, I’m glad they cancelled. We will never stay at a County Inn and Suites.

The "hot tub " in my room was disgusting. The control buttons were covered in calcium and 2 of the 3 didn't work. On top of this I was charged a $200 smoking charge. I don't even smoke. What a scam.

So far I’m not impressed and I haven’t even stayed the night! It would have been nice if they had stated on the website that they were under construction and there is scaffolding outside of the rooms! I would not have booked had I known this. Then to put a sign in the counter that they won’t issue refunds because of this-unreal! I’m not sure why their corporate people feel this is good business-it’s not! If I feel my safety and/or privacy is compromised at all, then you be…t your ass my complaint will go much further than social media! I feel sorry for the front desk girl! Her hands are tied! She is only doing her job and has to follow the rules corporate sets out. We will see how things go. Update: We’ve been here 4 days so far and I have no complaints. The young lady, Hope, at the front desk has been very accommodating and friendly. She has gone above and beyond to make sure we are happy. We haven’t checked out the breakfast options yet because things have been so hectic, but maybe today we will have time.

Bathtub was very dirty and breakfast was pretty unappetizing. Toilet seat was barely attached. Also posting signs around that you refuse to refund anyone who is bothered by the construction going on or didn't know about it before booking is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is having people sign an extra paper that they will charge you $100 if you dirty any of the linens or towels "too much". Last straw was being unable to accommodate me working night shift and having any hope of getting my room cleaned. They never even offered more towels. Definitely had better conceirge member benefits at other Club Carlson hotels. Overall very underwhelming.

Go here if you want to have the most stressful time you've ever had at a hotel. They steal your money, over charge and then lie about it. Watch out for the stuck up 2 faced lying hotel manager. They charge your card, take the money out and then tell you it's being "held". They accused me and my family (2 adults and a child in the room) of smoking marijuana multiple times even after being told it was not us. Stayed for 3 weeks and I have never seen so many disgruntled customers in my life. Never staying again and I will always tell people not to go there.

It was absolutely terrible. Twice a year about 30 of us use this hotel to stay at… we do a collection show at the will county fairgrounds. We got there Saturday late afternoon and went for supper around 5. Back at 8… we sat outside having coctails and enjoying each others company. At 915 the desk lady came out and said we had to go. We were all ok with it and started to move to our rooms. Nobody was out of hand or loud by any means. 15 min later a police car showed up then another and another. Told us the front desk lady had called and said we were loud and wild… my jaw about hit the floor. Well we went to our rooms but I went back to my vehicle about 10 min later. There was still a officer outside. We chatted some and he said he sat and wat he'd us for 15 min before they confronted us. He said he seen nothing wrong with what we were doing. Unreal. Come to find out the people that were there the night before we're loud and crazy sitting in our same spots … the guy slipped the lady $100 and another $100 to the lady who came in for the night shift. It was ok then. They thought we would do the same for them. Not. We have been staying there 2 times a year for close to 10 years. Not any more. So next time u want to stay at this motel… make sure u don't sit outside and enjoy the evening without slipping them some cash. Unreal.

Overnight stay, we have stayed here before. Rooms are nice, pool is adequate, and breakfast is what you would expect. For the price, no better place to stay in the area.

I came into town to attend the last practice at the Bears' training camp. I chose this hotel for my weekend stay because of its proximity to the camp. I got in late (after 11 PM). I didn't particularly care for the employee that checked me in. When I asked a question, her answer was very snippy. Didn't sit right with me at first, but then I shrugged it off. However, the treatment I received from the two front desk employees the next day was nothing short of spectacular. The manager allowed me to extend my checkout by an hour, which I desperately needed. That was very much appreciated! Additionally, when my Uber was late to pick me up, I arrived 4-5 minutes past my checkout time. I was in freakout mode thinking the hotel was going to require me to pay for another night in order to retrieve my belongings from the room (that is how it is done at most hotels). This was not the case! The young man at the front desk said that was not necessary. He reprogrammed the key for me! I never leave reviews, but I just had to commend these two employees for accommodating me as much as possible! I would stay here again, for sure. I gave it 4/5 stars because of the first employee I interacted with. Wasn't a big fan.

I can honestly say this has been one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Would not recommend it to anyone, ever. Highly recommend not drinking anything they offer as every time myself and my friend that were there found stuff in our drinks especially the coffee with green fibers coming out of the pots. The manager refused to talk to us over several issues that we had the few days we were there, and the entire staff was very rude about anything that you would need to ask about. Cleaning staff didn't even attempt to clean the rooms as I found dirt in hair in the bathroom on the first night before using anything. I wanted them to come in the second night and the same thing didn't even add toilet paper. Myself and my friend ended up leaving early and switching to a different Hotel down in Bourbonnais.

Super friendly staff. Very quiet, well appointed room. Nice, but very small pool. Good to splash in. Free breakfast — sausages, biscuits and gravy and waffles for hot food, assortment of cereals, yogurt, bagels, muffins as well as a variety of drinks. Would definitely stay here again.

Located next to I57 on the frontage rd. Not very helpful, courteous, or professional. Went down at 9am for breakfast, it ends at 9:30 and we were rushed and nothing was left but a mess. The pool was fun for my children but you can't even jump into the pool, also no food or beverages aloud in the pool room. I rented the most expensive suit they have, it was dirty dingy, and very out dated. We tried to rent the hot tub room but since we have 2 children that's not aloud but 3 adults is lol. They literally were willing to loose my business before offering any kind of comp or suggestions…

This hotel has bed bugs! We checked in on June 24th and we're bitten. The next day after formal complaint they moved us to a different room where we killed and captured a bed bug underneath the sheet on top of mattress! Do not stay here! Hotel management was very unfriendly after complaint! I have photos as proof! Would rate as 0 out of 5 but review wouldn't post without at least one star being checked! The owner never called me back as the staff indicated after Orkin inspection! Pathetic! I'm demanding a refund!

If it were not for people, I'd give this place double the rating I'm giving it. Because too often, people suck, and that was the case for our visit. The staff was fine. We arrived early, and there were no rooms available for us to change into our wedding clothes, but the receptionist found space for us to do that, which was very kind of her. No issues with the rooms. Nothing fancy, but spacious, enough for myself, wife, and daughter. Had a beautiful sunset over I57 and the self storage buildings. The bed was very comfortable, and we had a great night's sleep after the noise died down. Speaking of noise… Apparently, the group above us had rented some spastic kangaroos for the night. And a family on our floor made it a sport to see how fast and loud they could run down the hall. (They were quite good at it. ) No one was able to figure out how to use a towel after getting out of the pool, so the elevator smelled like chlorine. So I'm hinting that maybe the clientele isn't top notch. Breakfast was included. My advice is to stick with the fruit and Froot Loops — it's safest that way. The waffles were alright as well. And they had free cookies. Which doesn't make up for the other hotel guests, but it's nice nevertheless.

Hot tub was "broken" for an undetermined out of time. Nothing was said at the front desk and no refunds were outright denied through a piece of paper taped to the pool door. Good continental breakfast though.

Hated it! Booked a king and got a queen. Desk clerk was not helpful and very unfriendly. They were replacing the carpet in the hallway and left a 10" flap of carpet in the doorway. Had to lift my rolling bag and step over it. Very dangerous tripping hazard. Got in the room and it was disgusting. All linens were stained and needed replacing. Just hope they were clean! The breakfast was terrible. Will not stay at Country Inn and Suites again for it seems this chain is hit and miss.

Beds are massive. The gym here is small but they give you a membership to a big gym down the road.

I stayed here last weekend. Although the hotel was under renovations, they kept up on cleaning and the staff was great. There was an unhappy guest complaining but the staff handled it well and I even verbally commended them. I had to complain about some children that were running and weren't being watched and the staff called and had it taken care of right away. A portion of the first floor was blocked and partially obstructed the area going to the elevator but the maintenance man did his best to help us around and carried some of our belongings to our room. The breakfast was plentiful, the free cookies were excellent, and once again the staff was so friendly and attentive. Liz, the girl that was working Friday afternoon was wonderful, really knew her stuff. I will be back everytime I'm traveling through the area.

We have stayed at this hotel now 4 times. Every time it gets worse. + First time the bed was bad, like bent in the middle. Second time we paid cash for our room, and was not told about a deposit (after asking directly about a deposit prior to our arrival at the hotel), Third time, my child were treated very poorly by late night staff and yelled at by house cleaning. She is autistic but very independent. Then, there was a major fight in the pool area and resulted in several people being arrested, the pool being shut down, and medics were called to the scene. This time, I had to bring my grandchildren with me — The pull out bed was completely lop sided. I called in advance to ask about any changes to the hotel cash deposit requirements espicially since I redeemed points to stay at the hotel. It was now $100 — not $50. When I called the week before our stay to inquire about the cash deposit I was told I could pay cash for the deposit and when I checked in was told I had to use a credit card. The young lady at the counter could not quote me time frames of release dates, and if the card was charged or held, she had no idea when the funds would be released and then snuffed her nose at me like I was asking to many questions. While unloading our cart, I dropped a bag on the floor that was heavy, and the floor underneath us called the front desk on me. We left for dinner before 5p and did not return until almost 9p to give the family underneath us a break. Kids went right to sleep.

Excellent hotel, with friendly staff. Room was nice and clean and breakfast was the best I've had at a hotel in a while.

I am FURIOUS! Customer service is HORRIBLE. Manager refuses to call me back after numerous messages AND a report to corporate. Stayed here once before and the room was just okay. We stay in hotels quite frequently and sometimes I book one or two, then cancel closer to the date. When I searched for my reservation via the website, it told me there was no reservation on file for me. I tried three or four times, entering the last 8 digits of my card # and my last name, still nothing. I scoured my email for a confirmation email, again nothing. So I thought I was in the clear, I must not have booked it. WRONG! I was charged $143 for a no-show fee. I understand the reason behind those fees, I would NEVER intentionally not show up for a reservation. I tried in good faith to cancel it the day before. When I called the front desk to discuss the issue, the front desk girl said there was nothing she could do. I left a message asking for the manager to call me, which she never did. I called two days later, spoke with the "front desk manager" and was told there was nothing they could do, and was basically accused of lying. I asked for Crystal (General Manager) to call me, never received a call! I have called three more times to no avail. I even tried the 800 customer service number who assured me I would get a call back from Crystal. Again nothing. I guess I'm just out the $143, but I can tell you I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. Nor any other Carlson hotel, for that matter!

STAY AWAY! We booked and got to the hotel, which seemed pretty nice. We booked a One Bedroom King Suite with a pull out couch. They put us in a Queen Bed Room with a broken pull out bed (and broken couch since the pull out bed would not go in all the way). The thermostat was not working, we were awakened by the fire alarm at 7 AM, and the manager said that it is their discretion to switch our reservation without telling us without any warning! What a nightmare.
