Our first room smelled and looked like an ashtray. The front desk guy was super nice and put us in another room that smelled much better. Though upon entering, we saw a roach on the floor which was pretty gross. Cheap but didn't expect it to be THAT cheap.

Customer service was excellent, thanks to Becky! I had initially worried before I arrived, but once I got to the front desk, I felt at ease, because Becky helped right away and was friendly to me. The room was in really good condition, and better than I expected for the price. The bathroom sink was actually quite new, stylish and clean! The toilet and tub/shower were also clean. I did notice a slight cigarette smell clinging to the room, but this is relatively common for motels, especially if people outside of the room are smoking, the smell can waft in. But it wasn't overpowering, and I think the AC can help circulate air. The AC was excellent, and on such a hot day, I was so grateful for that! For the price, and in comparison with other local places and prices, I think this is a top deal. Everything in the room was in either in perfect or really good condition: bed, dresser, hangers, lamps, flatscreen tv. The floor was a bit uneven, probably due to previous guests' misuse, but it was fine, and I prefer that over carpets, because bare floors are more likely to be clean than carpets. Overall, great value and excellent customer service!

I'm with my friend and I just lost my ID and we pleaded with the guy at the desk to let us stay here. He kept repeating that they have a rule that they need to see everyone's IDs. My travel partner has his ID, I was willing to give them my name and address and they'd have our licence plate number. I've stayed at so many motel 6s and really liked them but not this one, at least not the guy at the desk, who wouldn't even call the owner to see if we could stay.

Enjoyed the microwave and fridge access, but didn't use. Toilet was very particulate-challenged. We sent a LOT of water down that drain. Beds OK. TV reception horrible. AC was noisy, but functioned adequately. Swimming pool (small, outside) was out of commission for the 3rd year straight. All in all, about what you'd expect from a Motel 6.

Worst Worst Worst Worst Motel 6 I have ever stayed at. Fridge was nasty and wouldn't cool. Toilet would not flush… Was refused a refund or to be moved to another room… I'd paid for 3 nights… Bed was decently comfortable…

The room was really gross. It smelled very strongly of smoke, even though we had booked a non-smoking room. There were cigarette burns on the comforter and bathtub. There was a hole in the wall in the bathroom where the door had been slammed open. No cover for the wall lamp over the bed — — just a bare bulb. Floor was sticky.

Was just told not to come back because I checked out early due to cigarette smoke in the room and plus a cigarette butt on the floor when it clearly states no smoking. Said I would have came down and asked for another room if that was an issue when clearly it was and I didn't get into my room till after I had dinner and realized that. Once I did I went and checked out and the guy that was on duty name Don told me that all I was doing was using it for sex when clearly that was not the case. Yes I rented a room there before and checked out early all because I needed time away from my roommates. Very rude. People need to realize that not all people that check out early uses it for sex. They sometimes need a place to regroup themselves and take a break from everyday life. Never go there.

Just stayed 2 nights ago, first time ever being in Bloomington. We will absolutely never stay in this motel again. The floors were dirty and sticky, turned the bottom of your socks brown just walking from the bed to the bathroom and back we ended up wearing our shoes the rest of the time in the room. Toilet seat cover is smaller than the toilet bowl itself. Bedding may or may not have been clean, it was hard to tell with stains and cigarette burns on them. Bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. Noisy at night, only ended up sleeping about 5 hours and couldn't take the uncomfortable dirty feeling so we left. Never took a shower there because the tub didn't look to clean. The door was hard to lock and the chain lock looked as if it had already been pulled out before and was just moved a little to somewhat secure it back on. The heat did work and that's the only positive we found. Definitely will spend more money to stay somewhere else no matter where we go, never again to a Motel 6! We considered sleeping in our vehicle even.

Was about what you would expect for the low end of the price spectrum. Nothing stood out as exceptionally bad or good. Hot water was an issue most of the times I've stayed here. Totally tolerable.

Usually motel 6, well in the past has been awesome. This one however is not. The room smelled like someone painted the room with bleach. Bad enough that I woke with a migraine from the smell of bleach. Bed frame was broken. All around looked like a hand me down sort of motel. The service wasn't the best. Front desk lady dressed and looked like something you would expect out of a 1980s Bates motel. Took me almost an hour to get towels… places like these give good companies like motel 6 a bad reputation.

Staff was exceptionally nice and refunded my money for two rooms without a hassle when we checked out within 15 minutes of our arrival. One room smelled like cigarettes and the other room had a bloody mattress.

For the price, we got everything we needed — a clean place to stay overnight. 1. Excellent: The mattress was firm and VERY comfortable. We both commented about it. 2, We simply laughed when we discovered that to open/close the bathroom door, we had to lift the toilet seat lid out of the way. 3. When I told my husband that the hot and cold water faucets were switched from the normal expectation, he said, "Why am I not surprised. " 4. There were some stains on the bedspread, though it had been nicely laundered. So we got a comfortable, good-night's sleep, at a good price — and a couple of laughs. (The only reason I did not give it a "10" is because some people might expect perfection. So I would only recommend Motel 6 to people like us. ) Thanks.

This motel isn’t updated and it has things that don’t work. The deadbolt doesn’t turn all the way, the floors are rotted and uneven but covered well, no lights over the beds, the bathtub stopper doesn’t work, the television is from 1980 and no phone in the room. However, things were clean, the water runs, the heat works, the lights work and the beds were sleepable. Don, the manager, is a nice guy and provides great customer service. He just hasn’t updated. If all you need to do is sleep, shower and leave, it’s fine. It’s just small town Indiana, small town owner doing the best he can. Thanks, Don!

Nothing but trash who live here, there are more trashy people who live at this Motel 6 then there are people who are travelling and just want to spend a night or two there. They are constantly jacking up the price for their rooms, then they lower the price back down then jack it back up again. The rooms are old and a little dirty. One time I spent a night here and I found a used condom in the bathtub. When there is a IU football game in town they jack the price for a room to almost $100.00 a night. They have old tube TVs (witch I don't mind watching TV on but some people may for some reason. ) that don't get much channels and some of the channels don't come in good.

Crappy. Stayed there for IU-Wisconsin football game weekend. Rate was $149, which I get for a football game weekend, but this room was awful. Room was old, dated and smelled like smoke. Floor was sticky and was coming up in spots. TV did not work. Shower had weak pressure and didn't get hot at all. Bathroom overall not very clean. Decent location in walking distance from Memorial stadium, but do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Service was terrible. Called to complain about hair in tub and got nothing but a rude clerk who didn't offer to move me rooms. Got told that we could leave the property which we willing did. Got told I wasn't getting a refund and I feel like we did nothing wrong. If you go here expect nothing but rude customer service. I would give 0 stars. Not only was the room filthy but the TV didn't even work correctly.

The staff was very nice and accommodating. They responded quickly when the battery was out in our door lock. The room was horribly old. The light fixtures were difficult to turn on because the new shades were over the little twist switch. The shades also were not secured so the one over the bed felt like they might fall on me. The floor felt like it was veneer over the old carpet which might be why the room smelled dank and musty. The fridge leaked so we had to clean up the dirty footprints we caused when we first walked through the room and then keep a towel at the base of the fridge. The TV didn't have any clear reception. The walls were bare. The shower head sprayed out of the join to the pipe so that my hair got all wet when I was trying to keep it dry. The rest of the spray coming out of the head was a narrow pattern with little pressure. On the up side the location across from a small green median had a nice little loop for a run. The black out curtains were sufficient. It was not noisy. And, as I mentioned, the staff was nice. We will, however, pay more for a better room during subsequent visits.

Room smelled terrible like stale smoke. Burn marks on tub. Floor tiles pulling up. Air conditioner didn't work. Light above bed had a short. Toilet ran all night. Found bed bugs on bed by bathroom in the morning. Have not heard back from management after reporting the bed bugs. Disgusted.

It's a place to stay for an affordable price, other than that, it has horrible. If you are a minority do not stay here. The guy in the night shift is truly racist and completely rude. The cleaning staff does minimal cleaning which meant dirty floors and oily shower.

I have a problem every time I stay here, first time was bed bugs. Now this time floors were so dirty my son's feet were pitch black within hour of being there, TV sucked and had bad connection (static), water damage in the bathroom, plus a disgusting mold/fungus thing growing in there, no mini fridge, no microwave… Tried to contact the Management but it's been 3 days now and no call back. I had to stay there because of an emergency for 13 days, spent almost 800$ and didn't even give me a discount. Very unhappy. The only thing nice is the lady up front.

This is prolly the most disgusting motel in Bloomington Indiana. The comforters are washed every other week, so don't touch with open skin, and in case of any infants or disabled folks, bring your own clean blanket for the floor. The guys who run the place are quite nice, until u get one complaint of a party at 4:30a. M. Then they call the cops and ask u to leave, never mind any kind of compensation for lost money. All in all for a drug dealer, prostitute, or generally shady individual, this is your kind of place. Leave the kids at home, if u can.

Clean and cheap room, we have what we need for a night. We love the solution with being at ground floor, our own in — and outdoor and the car right outside, and easy access to outside. The staff was nice. The only thing we could complaint about was that internet connection was bad, but then we had a room furthest away from reception. Would have been nice if the pool was open, it's still summer. But all in all a good place to stay for a night.

The Non-Smoking room was far from smoke free to the point that my clothes smelled of smoke the next two days! I had to tell people that I didn't start smoking. A few bugs walking around in the bathroom. Turned the air high with hopes of some air cleaning, but didn't work.

I stayed there and my girlfriend and I were outside smoking and 3 other occupants came out and we were talking became some what friends exchanged Facebook info. Will next day after I checked out I received a message from one the people we meet there asking if I could pay for a room. It was raining real bad so I thought I would be nice and go back up there and pay for them to stay a night so they could stay warm and dry. Upon arriving the police were there and when I went in I told them I got a message from one of their guest I meet there last night and they asked me to pay for another night and was wondering if he could call them up so I could give them the money. He took me to the police officer and apparently they did some damage to the room. I do not know them I meet them there the night before. The manager started getting mad yelling at me and threatening me to be arrested and telling me he was gonna make me pay for damages. When he was unable to they gave a no trespassing warning, but yet I did nothing wrong. I did not stay in that room did not step in that room and barely knew these people. Yet I was being blamed yelled at and threatened by this man when I did nothing wrong. I was just trying to be a nice guy. My treatment should of never of been like this. It is bad that someone damage their property but they can not blame other customers that just rented a room who happened to talk to them.

I have stayed at several Motel 6 properties, and they have all been clean but basic. This place was disgusting! The fake wood floors were dirty and peeling. The bathroom had hair. The bedding was stained and had many cigarette burns, and the whole room reeked of smoke. The lamps above the beds were damaged, and to top it off, there was one small hand towel and no soap. Even as a place to rest my eyes after a long night of traveling, I could not wait to get out of there! stay away!

I have stayed at Motel 6 a lot over the years, when we travel it's probably 60% of our stays. Of the hundreds we've stayed at over our life, this is in the top 3 for terribleness. Looks cute on the picture but… The light fixtures over the bed weren't attached and fell off onto our heads. They made a huge deal about signing and initialing for a non smoking room. And the room stunk, like an astray stunk. Two days later we had to wash our bags to get rid of smell. And I grew up in a smoking home. The hot water was terrible and surging… I counted 15 significant issues with maintenance from missing handles to a shower head that sprayed everywhere. And dirty. There was blood on the wall, if not blood, then human fertilizer. And big enough that Ray Charles could see it. The box spring was torn, cigarette holes in the blind, on the toilet sink and bathtub. Broken faucet and nasty shower curtain. The TV had 29 channels as I remember, and less than 1/2 of them watchable due to fuzz. Ah you must jest? The TV was a Zenith. They filed bankruptcy in 1999. We talked to our shuttle driver at the university, a local, she said they're know for being dirty, and have for years… Bottom line. The owners don't care. If I was Motel 6, I'd revoke their franchise because this one is a big black spot in an otherwise decent company.

I came into town on a weekend when there were a lot of events going on, so not only were there no vacancies anywhere else, but all the prices were jacked up. I ended up paying about 2.5 times the normal price for a room at Motel 6. I think the usual rate would have been acceptable for what I got, but I felt ripped off at the price I paid — — they had me over a barrel. Where do I even begin? The toilet clogged the first time I used it and flooded the bathroom. The lights all flicker and some of them will turn off automatically after a few minutes, which was a "nice" surprise when I was reading in bed. The towels, though plentiful, were completely inadequate and the bath towel barely covered my torso. The bathtub was really small and it's impossible to stand facing toward/away from the shower head without rubbing your elbows on the wall and the curtain. The floor seemed to be sinking in many places. All of these things make it sound like I am fat, but I'm really not. If you want to feel like you are fat, however, there's nowhere better. Onto the positives: the bed was comfortable and the vanity was nice. It seems like these are the places they decided to spend money on. The room was clean. However, for $110 a night, this falls a bit short of expectations.

The room was not clean. There was food residue in one of the draws in the dresser which I closed immediately. There was a strong chemical odor in the room and we had to wash all of the clothes we had with us since they smelled of that odor. The towels were stained (or dirty) and we could not use 2 of them.

Staff was fine, but beware that this place is dirty and very run down. Three of the lights in my room didn't work or flickered and had to be kept off. The floor was that cheap faux-wood, but had been improperly installed and was buckling and, somehow (and disconcertingly) sticky. Trim was cracked, chipped, and unpainted. TV is a 25-inch CRT, no remote. Walls were thin, could hear neighbors all night. Shower floor uneven. Faint smoke smell throughout the whole place. I've stayed in plenty of budget, just-need-a-night's-sleep places and can deal with a decent amount of grime and privation, but no way I'd stay here again, especially since after I canceled my second night's reservation ($100 total), they jacked the one-night price up to $65. Do yourself a favor and spend another twenty and stay somewhere else.

We stayed 3 nights. It's a basic motel, as all Motel 6 tend to be. It seems there are a fair number of long term guests at this one. The grounds and room were clean, tho' spartan (reflected in the price). We were there during some very bad, cold weather. They were diligent in plowing and salting. Bed was somewhat hard but better than a saggy one! Staff was all helpful and friendly. We'll stay again.

While staying at a motel 6 in bloomington I had an acwrage stay. Staff was nice and intelligent on surrounding activities and good restraunts. The room its self was clean, but you could tell my room used to be part of the smokers section judging by the burn holes in the blanket. Tv was severally outdated. But overall it was good.

Location was filled with drunks and my group was constantly bothered by the sounds of yelling and police sirens. Room smelled like cigarettes and cheap perfume. The only reason I didn't give a one-star rating would be because we didn't have anyone break into our room.

Poorly maintained and outdated. Our AC/Heater unit overheated and almost caught on fire during the night. The only good thing about this hotel is the price. Never again.

This was very affordable, and the rooms are cleaner. The hotel is pet friendly, so I was able to take both my dogs — and they didn't charge extra for them either. Clean rooms, microwave and mini fridge, clean bathrooms, courteous and helpful staff — great location, great price — what more can you ask!. Parting from my pets during my stay away — — is always hard, knowing I could have them stay with us in our room, was a great bonus! I give it 5 stars — yes, 5STARS!.

The only problem I had was they didnt seamed worried about fixing the pool and as far as ik its still closed for repairs a year later.

It was a decent Motel 6. They have complimentary coffee in the lobby for mornings only. A laundry room right by the office. We got a room with two double beds but there was only one towel… how does that work? The motel is right across the street from a park/trail to downtown as well as a Steak and Shake. It also has a Mexican and chinese restaurant nearby. It's close to campus as well. I like that all the rooms are ground floor and spread out so each room has parking right outside.

This is the worst hotel/motel we have every been to. We have stayed here 2 times and the first time the bathroom door would not open because the toilet was in the way. We decided to give it one more chance and this time was even worse. The lights all Flickr, the TV is very staticy, There was no glass in the peephole so anybody could look in from outside anytime they wanted to which is very unnerving considering the fact that there are permanent month-to-month residents that live here who seem to be very low classdrug addict type people who beat their wives which we have had to deal with this entire stay here this time constant fighting and screaming right next to our heads all night long and all through the next day very thin walls. Would not recommend staying here to anyone that I have ever known in my entire life and anyone else who is reading this. Also not to mention the main light in the entire room went out when we first got here. And there are no signs for you to use for housekeeping. They come by at various times during every single day and knock on your door and if you don't answer they walk in you could be showering you could be sleeping anything could happen there are nosigns do you tell the housekeepers to not disturb you or to not go in they just do it if you don't answer every single day you never know when to expect them they come at different times it could be 9 o'clock in the morning it could be one to 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
