Review of Park Hyatt Chicago 5*

My first trip to Chicago was carfeully planned w a stay at the Park Hyatt. We will stay at the Hyatt again because of the very nice staff! The room, even with the view of the water tower, 6th floor was ok. Hotel Intercontinental is usually our first choice. The doorman from Ghana was my favorite person I met in Chicago, but Shondra, housekeeping was top notch and Luis breakfast waiter ranked 2nd in the world next to the Cuban breakfast staff Biltmore Miami. Phenomenal! Matt, waiter was cool! We unfortunately decided to forgo the limo service for the u2 concert and wing it! Never again because of some crazy poor planning by the city of Chicago the concert at the United Center puts you at the mercy of whatever after the show. Uber would not pick us up so looked for taxi line, no line. Simple math 20, 000 people spill out 0 taxis plus chicago police clear streets for noone to pick up. One option a few buses equals long line 2 hours. Bus driver kicks u off 20 blocks from hotel, attempts to get taxi = 0. Walk. We get back to our hotel and all I wanted was a cocktail, beer, glass of champagne, water anything please. Get off elevator to jerk telling us to turn around it is a private party u2 I guess. I was one sad visitor! wished they had come to New orleans, Atlanta. Any damn where else. Park Hyatt security are jerks I could have saved some money. But next day the staff was so sweet I almost forgot my 1st epic night in the Second City. Jake and Elwood should be fired! A little Courtesy goes along way with me.
