Review of Claridge House 4*

We arrived a bit tired and broken after making the mistake of bringing our car with us. After looking for parking for hours, we arrived and told the front desk our troubles and they gave us a $15 breakfast each day for free. For each of us, so $30. But then it got bad…. Some of my issues are knit picky but for the price we paid…. Very Dirty windows in our room. The Door stop on the bathroom door was so close to the toilet it stubbed your toe every time you tried to get out of the bathroom. There were No towel hooks/rods for hand towels or bath towels. More major issues… We returned to our room after a trip to the aquarium to a horrific Smoke smell in our room. I asked the front desk if they allowed smoking and they do not. We woke up quite late the first morning, but saw that “breakfast” was available until noon. When we arrived to Juniper we were told that breakfast was the available pastries. We just assumed we were to late for the breakfast options shown online. (Remember we have $30 to spend) The next morning I sent my husband down to get us some real breakfast food. (9am) He returned to the room empty handed and said the employee working said they “didn’t feel like making breakfast that morning. ” Ok so what is the point of my $30? I’ll just get 5 lattes? When I told the front desk about these issues they said they would take a daily fee of $23 off my room total. Ummm a fee? For what? Still have no idea. But we were only staying one more night, so we sucked it up. Then check out day we got a very RUDE BANGING on our door at 8AM. Housekeeping. Which has never happened to me before in a hotel! Checkout is at Noon. Opened the door and no one was there. We tried to get back to sleep until another BANGING on the door at 10AM. We told her we’d be out by check out time, which is noon. SORRY I want to sleep in during my vacation.
