Reviews of The Chicago Hotel Collection Magnificent Mile 4*
Nice and professional service.
Overpriced rooms, valet couldn't drive a manual transmission car, and when I went back to pick up my car, one of the valet/garage attendants dug through my glove box? Even left it open with the contents on the floor. Unbelievable. I won't be back.
All! Its warm and friendly atmosphere, quiet and spacious rooms. The sofacama a little harsh but in short it was not many days that I spent staying at this very spectacular hotel. Room heated hot water with good pressure. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Location & price. Friendly staff.
Always a great experience. We love coming to Chicago and staying in this hotel. Excellent service at the front desk, valet parking and Manny’s service at the bar!
Great place to stay in. Awesome rooms and sight.
Great rooms, and Great Service!
Excellent! Very nice place and staff!
Great hotel handy for everything, good staff and good rooms.
Love everything about it, great room, comfortable. Location is key, walking distance to everything.
Nice enough hotel, great location
BUT not sure how you have a Bloody Mary Special and not have any bloody Mary mix.
Great hotel. Friendly, helpful staff, and clean, HUGE rooms for a good rate. Shout-out to Nina in the bar downstairs, very personable and gracious.
Very nice hotel. Had no problems at all. Room was nice and spacious and most of all it was very clean and comfortable. Will definitely stay again.
Spacious. Clean room. Friendly desk help, great location, very quiet rooms.
I have Cancer and wanted to stay somewhere nice just to relax I called and talked to a team member and they was so rude I changed my mind A friend of mine told me about this hotel. My daughter works at a hotel and I could have used her family and friends rate but I wanted to try somewhere different it’s so sad as sick as I am I had to deal with the team member being rude I will make sure I let everyone I know the experience I had.
In terms of cost the hotel was good, not great. We had a lovely view of an alley and enjoyed the air conditioning slamming on every night, sounding like our door was being opened. All sarcasm aside, the food in the restaurant in the lobby was over priced and not worth the time, when you can stroll 5 minutes and get higher quality food. The staff was very friendly and the hotel room was clean. House keeping needs to learn what "Do not disturb" means though. Bath linens were coarse, but the bed linens were nice enough and the bed was comfortable as well. All in all we enjoyed our stay because it was a place to sleep and it was a good location for the places we wanted to see. If we were to be kept indoors for more than a few waking hours though, the lack of comfort and quality would've worn very thin.
Not a firearm owner friendly hotel. They fail to mention anywhere on their website or on Choice Hotels that they ban firearms on the property until you see their front door at arrival. I'm a Choice Hotels Diamond member, so I spend a lot of money at these properties. I left their GM several messages regarding their policy before posting this review, but all my calls went unanswered and unreturned. I carry firearms as part of my job and I don't feel comfortable leaving them in my car while valets, who I haven't run a background check on, are driving it around and possibly not locking it for them to be stolen. I won't be back here until they change this policy; and neither will anyone else at my company.
Wonderful experience! The room appeared exactly as pictured on the website. Comfy and spacious suite. Awesome water pressure in the shower. Staff was friendly, prompt and super helpful. They sent a text message each day to check in and see if we needed anything. Staff was able to check us in early, lock up our luggage after we checked out, and provide a space for quiet/private breast feeding after our check-out time. Annie, Justin & Hector were especially friendly and helpful! Great central location, close to shopping, drugstore, restaurants, pretty walk to Navy Pier.
The room was a good size for 2 adults. The king bed was super comfy as well as the pillows. The AC worked however blew the air on our faces. Because of that, the comforter was well used. The water pressure in the shower was amazing! And very high, perfect for my tall husband. For not getting housekeeping we were given a $5 credit at the bar & for not getting the points we were given a buy one get one drink also at the bar. Perfect for a glass of wine as a night cap.
I spent 3 days here with my family and it was such a comfortable experience. Cambria is located at such a convenient location that if you are ready to flex your leg muscles a bit then you do not need a car to see Chicago, we did not (we did Uber a couple of times but could have chosen to not do that too) Coming to the other amenities, I would not say that it has everything but they make the experience quite nice as they sent a microwave for our room when I asked if I could use a common one for heating something. The only thing that could have made the experience the best ever was a view but nestled into an urban garden of concrete towers all we could see from our window is the chimney and the back of another building. The service was good and the breakfast was modest but appreciated especially in a place where complimentary breakfast is hardly on offer, this was a pleasant surprise. I could also get some tickets printed out from their business center which was a great help. Overall this is a perfect place to stay in Chicago if you get a good deal like I got. Even if you don't and are looking for convenience more than anything else, then this is the place to stay at.
Absolutely loved this hotel. Really great amenities. However, it does not offer a pool. Rooms are all suites. Very large rooms that offer a seating area and desk area. Parking is 60 per night valet. However 32 per night parking is available nearby. There is a Walgreens very close and many good reasons within walking distance. The hotel does offer an overpriced breakfast buffet. Very close to Children's hospital. The coffee shop on site is a HUGE plus.
The front desk was super nice. The rooms are all very clean and I slept well. The beds are a little firm, but still soft enough to drift away easily. The location is great, it's got a ton of shopping and restaurants close by, and plenty of taxis drive by.
Big spacious rooms. Great location. Was there for a sales meeting. Meeting rooms were nice and food was good. Only thing that could be improved is the speed of elevators, especially if lots of people are using at the same time.
His one is hard for me to review. I actually booked 2 rooms here one for my son and one for me. He came to Chicago 2 days earlier than I and left 2 days earlier as well. His room was great, just like we asked for. My room… not so much, not only did I book a King suite but I paid for a Kind suite, the problem was I did not get a King suite and all they could tell me is they were out of them. No offer to do anything at all! so here I am staying 4 nights in a room less than 1/2 the size I paid for with no offer to refund me any money or anything! This is NOT good business!. now as far as the Hotel staff, very good. The door man Joel was very helpful, he made the trip easy and was very informative. The room was clean and the meal I had was good. But sadly I would not stay there again.
I recently had surgery, had the worst time getting around and had to go to the ER. I stayed here for two of my recovery days right after surgery. Every time we came to the front the valet team were exceptional. They helped me out of the car, had a wheel chair, opened all the doors. I was also able to keep the wheelchair the entire stay. They were so kind and happy about it. Then when I went to the ER the front desk came in and comforted me while we waited for the ambulance. They were fantastic. Just the best service so far out of many hotels Ive stayed at through my surgery journey. Thank you so much for your hospitality during some painful times for me.
The hotel is very well located for a downtown Chicago visit. The bar / bistro was surprisingly good for a late night meal / appetizers (it was the only thing open when we first arrived), and there were some excellent craft beer selections. We ended up grabbing a drink at the hotel bar multiple times because of its convenience and late hours. The hotel room was well equipped in all the normal important ways (free Wi-Fi) and also the little ways… Multiple outlets on each nightstand. The staff was very friendly. I didn't see any children — might be a better option for adults and business travelers than families. Highly recommend, it's a solid choice.
If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… This hotel is perfectly located for shopping and visiting my doctor. Very clean and well appointed room with a very comfortable bed, extra pillows, and a terrific shower. Lobby space is useful, staff is friendly and invisible. A needed minor service was tended to quickly, and even got a text to confirm my satisfaction. I’ve slept in a number of the fine hotels along Michigan Ave and my needs were never met better. A good find!
A beautiful hotel with a warm and friendly staff… I've been traveling with migraine headaches no fun… The staff allowed me to stay pass the check out time… Until my next hotel had a room available. Thank you Mark for checking in with me to see how I was feeling. And calling my other hotel to make sure I had a room available when I got in the cab… Sam the doorman was outstanding. Standing out in the rain and flagging down a cab so I didn't have to in Mike we can State… I intend to return here my next trip to Chicago.
The room is large but even though the hotel says updated the purple carpet and furniture makes it seem outdated. The room is dark, thin walls and housekeeping could be improved. The location is nice, gym is well equipped, staff is friendly. I would skip the breakfast or room service; food is not worth the $$ dollar signs. I wouldn't stay here again. Our room per night for that day was $160.
Excellent location just 100 meters adjacent 'The Magnificent Mile' and Michigan Avenue. Most of the tourist attractions within Chicago downtown is just a mile away from Cambria. Hotel is clean and suitable for family vacations and business trips. Only negative thing is that they don't offer complimentary breakfast in the price which they offer. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. Valet parking is available through its bit expensive but you can park your car in parking plaza just front of hotel.
Service was polite, prices for the room were fair, but self parking not available. You can choose to park across the street or valet, which quickly added up the cost of trip. I recommend researching and planning ahead for those with a family! The room was a suite, which the concierge upgraded for us, and I initially though we were saving money, but then I researched it online with another travel site and found the same room cheaper yet. The room was incredibly dusty and it looked like someone with pizza fingers touched the light switches and bathroom door, but overall, that was the worst of it. Possibly stay again. Right off the Magnificent Mile, Navy pier, close to everything.
This hotel was located in a great area, walking distance to many food options, shopping among other things. However, we ended up having issues with our room and we were compensated accordingly (thanks to the manager Claudia). Its an older hotel that has had some updates made to it. The hotel has a resort fee but no swimming pool, and the business center has only 1 computer for the hotel to have so many floors. Last but not least, the room was modern, yet small (nice size TV screen), no microwave or fridge in the room but you are able to ask for them and if they are available then one can be brought to your room. But I would think for the price and it being a 4 star hotel, that you would get more.
The hotel was in a great location. It was clean with really comfortable beds. The staff were lovely and pleasant. I would definitely stay again but I would request to be further away from the elevator, by the second day it started to get pretty annoying but not so much that it would have been worth switching rooms.

We stayed at the Cambria this weekend and it was a great experience. The rooms are beautiful and clean, the customer service is great, and the cafe is cute. I love the decor, and the added extra touch of the text when you arrive, asking if they can help you with anything. I'm planning on staying there again in a couple months.
Very nice hotel right on the Magnificent Mile. The people are super friendly and our room was very large. The hotel has a nice and modern lobby. I would book The Cambria Hotel again and can recommend it to anyone.
We had one room and 2 queen beds. The rooms are very modern with lots of cool gadgets. The bathroom has a mirror with touch screen bluetooth to play your music, the beds are very comfortable and the pillows are as well. The game room is nice to relax and play billiards, the fitness center is small but convenient. The reason I'm giving this review 3 stars is for the following: 1. Hotel Staff gave us a key for a room number that was already occupied. We went to our room, scanned the key and saw a couple purses laying on the bed. Luckily there was no one there. We immediately rushed downstairs so front desk could give us a new key. They did apologize, but this is a scenario where your valuables can be stolen, not acceptable. 2. The curtains allow a great % of light to come through the room. If you like sleeping in the dark this room is not for you (unless you bring a face mask). 3. Restrooms have no privacy as they are barn doors. You can hear everything in the room from the bathroom (so be aware). I may stay again if I find a good offer but will not be my first choice.
The room was very clean and spacious (especially for a big city). The lobby was nice, but nothing grand or fancy. We were able to walk to lots of things. I would stay here again. A note about parking: Parking is over $60/night with valet. To get cheaper parking (as stated on some websites) you must prepay for parking through Spothero and then have the parking garage office lower the price on the ticket you get out of the machine.
Beautiful hotel, very clean, reasonable price. Staff, except bartender, were all so friendly! Only recommendation is DO NOT use their valet parking! Took almost 2 hours to get my car so stuck sitting in lobby because of check out time. I'm still in shock that they would only have ONE person go fetch cars for every person checking out! Absolutely ridiculous and legit almost NOT worth the stay!
This has become our home away from home. We live in Chicago and occasionally need a break from our day to day lives and get away. The staff here is exceptional! The rooftop bar very cool with well crafted cocktails. The beds are a dream!
Very clean, comfortable rooms at an affordable price. The fitness center was well equipped compared to your average hotel. The coffee bar in the lobby serves Intelligentsia, which was an added bonus. We were also able to check in 3 hours early, which was very helpful.
Room was very modern and nice for the price. Next to Gino's East so we stopped for awesome pizza. Walked the magnificent mile to shop and dine. Very clean, modern, and comfortable!
The room was clean and the breakfast was good. The best location, close to the most touristy places, shopping area and restaurants.
Great service, they are perfectly situated in downtown Chicago. I pretty much walked to most of the sites. The room I stayed in was very spacious and clean. There are places to find breakfast, lunch and dinner nearby. All walking distance. My only complaint was that the heating made a little noise but that would be based on preference but I would definitely go back.
Stayed here 2 nights. I was very happy to be given a room really early on the day of my check-in. The room was nice and clean, very comfortable and well lit. The bathroom was kind of small but very functional. Perhaps the best parts of this hotel are its location and the terrific people who work for it! I'm definitely hoping to be back here if I'm in the area. Thanks so much for an awesome stay.
Great hotel in the middle of downtown Chicago. Maybe a. Little dated.
We loved out stay at Cambria Hotel & Suites — Chicago Magnificent Mile. The room and facilities were great. The staff was friendly. The location was perfect to the mile. We were able to access everything we wanted by walking. We would stay again.
The staff were friendly and reasonably helpful. One of the two elevators that served the hotel rooms (separate available for the meeting rooms which only went up to the 7th floor) was broken so the waits to go up and down the elevator we're long and the rides crowded. The rooms came with an ice bucket but I couldn't find anywhere to obtain ice. But the rooms were clean with space to move around and the beds comfortable. I think the thing that got to me during my stay was the fact that I found out from the bellboy that the elevator was busted. Would have preferred full disclosure and expected waits rather than appearance of the staff at the desk just hoping that we wouldn't nice…
Nice boutique hotel In the middle of the Northwestern memorial hospital complex. Room was a good size (king bedroom suite), and service was good. The elevators, however, took much too long. Must plan and extra 5 to 10 minutes to your commute time just to compensate for the elevators. This should be addressed.
Location Location Location! Tucked steps away from Michigan Ave, this hotel is perfect for walkers, train travelers, etc… Centrally located to all the touristy stuff! Staff many of whom have been there for decades are A+! Our most recent stay found us in a newly remodeled room that was comfortable and met our needs… the value and the location are perfect!
Had a great stay here. I stayed at this hotel twice when it was The Mile North but this was my first stay since it switched to Cambria. The location is perfect and the rooms are great. Stayed in a king suite this time and it was very nice. Comfy bed, plenty of space, nice living room area. Bathrooms look like they were recently redone. The only negative was the shower was actually pretty small. I was taken back by it when I first saw it. For a suite the bathroom was tiny. I was only there for one night so it didn't bother me in the slightest but I think if I had a longer stay the small bathroom would have gotten annoying. All in all I still love this hotel and will continue to stay here in the future. I would suggest using ParkWhiz to purchase parking at a nearby garage. $60+ for parking per night is just not going to happen in my book. Very friendly staff and love the fresh coffee bar in the lobby!
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… I stayed here after attending a friend's wedding. I was very happy with my stay. The beds are super comfy! They are currently renovating rooms. We were in a room that wasn't renovated, but it was still very nice. Great water pressure, good toiletries, nice windows, and again super comfy bed! The rooftop is really nice too so I recommend checking it out!

The room we had was very nice and spacious. The bathroom, however was small, and the shower needed some updating, as the water pressure was pretty low. The complaints were as follows: 1. The hotel never notified us that there was work/remodeling/construction being done on the hotel until we had actually checked in and made it to the room. Further, no staff ever made anything known to us. There was only a piece of paper left on the desk in our room. On both Monday and Tuesday mornings, although the piece of paper left in our room informed us work would not begin until 9 am, we were awoken by construction noises above and/or around us as early as 7:30 am. 2. The hotel never informed us that their rooftop bar was closed and all under construction. This was also not mentioned to us by any staff. The only notifications were pieces of paper hanging in the hallway to the elevators.
Very nice hotel. Fantastic location, one block from Michigan Ave. Room was large, with a nice view. Bathroom could use updating. Nice rooftop bar. Parking a bit outrageous, but cheaper parking very close. Good value. Will stay again.
My wife and I were in Chicago for Valentines Day. Our room was pretty nice and we had decent view from our room. Don't bother to eat next door at Gino's east. The pizza is equal to a frozen pizza from the supermarket.
I was delighted with my very spacious room and the sincerely friendly and helpful staff. The hotel changed names today so I don't think all the printed matter is in the rooms yet. I wanted some sort of food or continental breakfast. Had to forage the neighborhood for dinner and breakfast. Otherwise the hotel is very well located and comfortable.
Great accessible room with easy access shower. Clean, comfortable, upscale, and the staff was amazingly helpful. Parking/bag handling were professional and just very nice guys. (Which can be rare when you are in a wheelchair. ) Right next to the hospital so did not even have to move the car for conference attendance. Close to great local dining and shopping. Had a free voucher for the breakfast buffet of eggs, bacon, french toast, pastries, etc. Which was good.
Great room, great staff! Beds are comfy and the room is very spacious! Close to everything like shopping and dining. Will definitely return.
Such a cute hotel, the entrance is decorated with old suitcases and a typewriter. Rooms were spacious and clean, comfy beds. The shower had a tiny bit of mold in all corners. Overall I would recommend this hotel!
The location of this hotel is great. Everything is within walking distance. The beds are comfortable, though the pillows are not. Showers are large, clean. They do not provide free breakfast.
Their valet staff is horrible. I called the front desk in advance to ask the valet rate. When I got to the hotel the valet attendant asked how many hours and he kept raising the price when I was told a base fare for 3 hours. Finally when I received my car, I don't know where he parked it but I had a stain that extended from the rear of the roof and covered all the back window and the trunk!
The MileNorth is a terrific spot. Staff is excellent, rooms were very clean, best hotel shower I've had in a while. The rooftop bar is an excellent place to unwind after a long day and the Barista Coffee bar perfect for a good cup of Joe. This is my new favorite place to stay in N Chicago. Cheers!
Nice Hotel. A superb Hall. A small gym. Very well placed.
The always smiling reception staff. The proposed $ 15 breakfast is expensive because little varied and staff not always friendly Barista Fund…
I loved this hotel! It is very close to everything and very nice staff. It is very clean and I love how it is decorated the lobby and the rooms.
Good location Nice decoration in the lobby. The rooms are spacious. Breakfast is a little bit varied at $15 per person.
I stayed on the 25th floor of the Mile North. The view was great, the room was nice, the service was good. We got a good rate on the room and didn't find any bedbugs when we checked. 9/10 would stay again.
I am updating my review. When I checked into my room the bathroom drain was broken, which I would have ignored had my sheets also not been dirty. When I got into the bed on the first night of my stay, I noticed that there were hairs on my sheets. I called down to the front desk and after about an hour the manager and housekeeping came up to change the sheets. Problem Solved… or so I thought. The new sheets had lots of dark brown stains on them. I took the sheets down to the front desk, but the manager and housekeeping had gone home. The next morning I spoke with the manager. He apologized, provided breakfast vouchers and moved me to a more spacious and cleaner room. Overall the hotel is okay. There is a coffee shop, the breakfast is good and the decor is somewhat updated. Also, the cleaning could use a little more attention. However, the service is wonderful. The staff went above and beyond to resolve my concerns, which caused me to raise my score from a 1 star to a three star.
Really nice place! I stayed for 6 days during my visit in Chicago, and I have to say I am very pleased! The location is great, close to everything, but still located in a "calm" street without any noise when you are in your room. The rooms were really clean, and bigger than I expected. I upgraded my room to a queen suite halfway through the stay, and the view was really nice. There is no restaurant though, but they do have a cafe/bar in the lobby for a quick snack. There are a lot of restaurants and cafes nearby. The staff is really friendly as well. Especially Sam! It's always nice to come down to the lobby and being greeted by his big smile! All in all, I felt like I received more than what I payed for. The hotel is really nice for the price!
Okay, so here's the thing. It's affordable, in a great location (parking totally sucks but it's Chicago so I'm not expecting a whole lot here), the "hip" lounge is okay but expensive and crowded, the rooms are mediocre at best. We walked in and there were rags on the floor from cleaning (fine, I can deal with that). The beds are uncomfortable, it's clear they did their best with an old building but the bathrooms are atrocious. The paint is peeling, there was hair on the floor, gunk came up from the shower after I was done (disgusting). They look okay at first glance but looking around, nope. Probably won't be back but sadly we have two more days. Not even sure if we will last that long.
Great location. Right by the Magnificent Mile, good restaurants, John Hancock building, etc. Our room was fun. Nice decor, great shower and the most comfy bed I've ever slept in. All the staff were so nice and helpful. Everyone of them. Would make a point of staying again for sure!
The room was affordable. The bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food and coffee bar were on point. Above all else the hotel was directly off Michigan avenue and it did not cost an arm and a leg. We will definitely be staying again in the future.
MileNorth is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. From the moment you enter the lobby, the ambiance is cozy and relaxing, especially with the bar/coffee bistro in plain sight. The staff is courteous and actually remember your name, which I appreciate. The room I stayed in was nice and spacious, clean, comfortable, and had very impressive modern decor and amenities. The giant octagon mirror in the living quarters impressed me, but when I saw the giant illuminated mirror in the very spacious bathroom, I was blown away. My view of the Chicago skyline was breathtaking. The bed was soft and comfortable and I slept like a baby. I highly recommend MileNorth, and if I ever visit Chicago again, I'll be staying at this wonderful hotel again!
This is the third time that I've stayed at MileNorth. The staff are always organized and professional; the location is perfect; and the rooms are quite, well-appointed, and unique. That is, each time I've stayed here, I've been in a room that is different from the others. This stay afforded us a huge room with a king bed, two televisions, couch, desk (every room has a desk as far as I can tell), and nice large bath. Highly recommended!
Service was very good. Great bartender. Valet and doormen friendly. The room was nice. I had a breathtaking view. But, other people in my group said they had no view and their windows were frosted over. Comfy bed. Didn't care for the pillowcase. The TV was fuzzy on all stations.
Hipster/Yuppie heaven, I guess. Not really my kind of place. A lot of wine sniffers. No room service. Staff wasn't unfriendly, but not overly friendly either. I liked the doorman and the housekeepers. Location was good. My room was okay, but a little small for a suite. A little worn. I would've liked to throw one of the bartenders a beating, honestly. The kid with the Johnny Depp, 21 Jumpstreet haircut. Some old English lady, one of the guests, got mad at me for chewing my gum too loud in the elevator. I hope she gets hit by a Spearmint delivery truck. Overall, not bad. 4 star hotel rating is questionable, though.
Great location, great service, great suite. Bathroom a bit outdated.
Nice medium sized hotel within walking distance to the Magnificent Mile. The standard room is super comfy and updated with all the amenities except for the TVs (LG flat screens that are a bit dated. ) Showers are amazing! There's also a full coffee shop as soon as you come in! Very nice experience.
Love it! Clean, spacious room, professional staff, very helpful and attentive. Able to shop and drop packages as we needed to. Close to Magnificent Mile-need I say more? We WILL be back!
The location was great! Very close to the hottest spots in the downtown area. My room was large and nice, clean and had a great view. Some of the staff members could be a little more helpful/friendly. But overall this is a good option for a stay in the downtown area, close to all of the Chicago essentials.
HOTEL SCAMMED US OF OUR MONEY FROM CREDIT CARD! hotel looks great when you first walk in, but right when we checked in they asked for our credit card again even though we have already pre payed. Later we checked our bank account to see our days spending and there was money missing that we didnt spend. We immediatly knew it was the hotel.
I booked a 1 night, same day stay. We found the hotel online through the booking sites, and then booked directly through MileNorth's website for a special promotion. The check in was easy enough, and there were 3 friendly staff members working the front desk. We had an easy check in, got a great upgrade (it was a slow Monday), and everyone was super nice. We didn't experience much of the hotel accommodations, but the view in the room was amazing and super spacious. I would love to visit again!
MileNorth Hotel stole my money, then lied to me repeatedly about refunding it. I accidentally made a same night reservation with the Chicago location at 11:07pm last Wednesday, and canceled with both the hotel and Expedia within 30-minutes. The room clearly wasn't going to be booked that night, yet they still charged me $127 and refused to pay me back — even after multiple hotel representatives said I would receive a refund. If I were you, I'd steer clear of these shysters. There are plenty of other better hotels in Chicago that don't need to rip off guests to make their money.
Nice rooms, but horrible customer service if something does go slightly not according to plan for them, even for military. I left my phone charger in the room the morning I checked out, but I came back midday the day I was leaving 20 minutes before I told them I had to catch a flight out. Instead of calling or radioing lost and found to come down with the charger, they simply texted them two times over the course of 20 minutes while I waited. Because I had to catch a plane, I even VOLUNTEERED to go upstairs and check the room myself, which I had to do. It wasn't there, I let them know I could only wait 5 more minutes and instead of trying to go get it, they simply texted housekeeping again — which, shocker — never responded. They said they could mail it, which I said was great. (they never said I'd be charged! ) It took 2 days of back and forth phone tag w/ housekeeping and the front desk to actually determine that yes, they had found it. I then received a message last night saying they had charged my credit card to mail it to me!? Wait, what!? I never approved any charge before they did that and I had waited 20 minutes (plenty of time) to get something from lost and found and they're going to charge me to ship it. Totally unacceptable, it was there fault for not getting it to me in person when I was still there w/ plenty of time. But wait — it's gets better! The only way they finally agreed to ship it without charging me was to ship it regular mail instead of priority.
The hotel is very centrally located. Super set up and very clean.
At any time.
Great location and room! Enjoyed the rooms decor and comfy bed. TV was kinda fuzzy and lounge at the top of the building was overpriced (great service tho). Friendly staff and all around good experience. Toilet did sound like a launching rocket ship on occasion. Great location and close to everything.
Ive been here a couple times rooms are pretty hit and miss. Room had dirty towels (foot print was on one), picture frames and mirror had been damaged, and some marks on near window. Seems from my stays the higher up your room the better the quality.
+ great location when in Chicago, + nice rooms, — incompetent staff (! ) with only two exceptions, — noisy from Thu-Sun night!, — super slow internet connection! We just spent a week at the MileNorth and our experience went from a great first impression to a huge disappointment! To keep things short here are the pro’s and con’s for the MileNorth: + Location: You are just around the corner of Mag Mile with its plenty shops and restaurants. The lakeshore and sights like The Loop, Millenium Park, Shedd Aquarium, Art Institute, Navy Pier are still in walking distance. Hip neighborhoods such as Bucktown/Wicker Park and Lincoln Park with trendy eateries and shops are just a couple of metro stations away or easy to reach by bike. + /-Amenities: Rooms: The spacious rooms come with a coffee maker (Lavazza coffee) and a fridge with plenty of room for your own stuff. The bathrooms have a good size and same applies to the closet. What bothered me was that although they have wine and beer in the mini bar there are no extra glasses provided. And using the toothbrush tumblers or coffee mugs is kind of “unappetizing”. — Internet connection: No hotel should advertise high speed Internet, when the broadband speed is slower as snail mail. If you have to work from your hotel room and email attachments or be available over Skype choose another place to stay.
The rooms were good and for a good price, but they charged me for service hotel 35dlls and nobody tells you that until you get your receipt days after you leave.
Outdated interior has a cheap look to it. Lowest quality toiletries. Does not provide any convenience — no water fountain, wants to charge $25 for a single use of a microwave. Towels were dirty and stained, in the same spot again even after room service — highly suspect that the towels weren't even changed. Overcharges for boat tour tickets. Some front desk staff were nice, but others couldn't be bothered about any questions. Then there's the hotel fee after checking out — without paperwork or anything, and not previously advertised, just shows up on credit card later. Only good thing is the location. Definitely does not deserve a 4 star label.
We booked a room a week in advance to attend the funeral of my father. There was something in the room that made my allergies react. Most of the night I was sneezing and congested. We arrived that Thursday night and checked out Friday morning after we encountered the horribly condescending assistant manager Hilary. She is one of the nastiest people I have ever had the misfortune of having to address. Obviously, she should not be in customer service and needs more training. I tried to explain why we decided to check out early, and she would not hear any of it. All she wanted to do was charge my credit card. I spoke with a person, Danny, who said he was the manager, but he is actually Hilary's underling. He promised to get back in contact with me, but he did not. Today, I had the absolute misfortune to speak with Hilary whose behavior is even worse than when I encountered her in person. Some people are unfit to be managers, and she is one of them. I will never ever stay anywhere near Mile North and would never recommend it to anyone. For the price, one can do a lot better, and it is not worth the aggravation of dealing with idiots.
Very good value for money in a central location.
