Awesome hotel, and great getaway. My better half and I enjoyed staying here. Beautiful view.

Shame this is now a Red Roof Inn. Was formerly the magnificent Richmont Hotel, and the excellent Rue Saint Clair restaurant. Was my go to place to bring dates to dinner back in the mid-late 80s and early 90s. Shame the Rue is closed : (

This was the best Inn I've ever been too. The Bed Bugs were monsters, and 5here cousins the cock a roach were hanging out too. Very dirty and just not a safe place to be especially with kids, bare wires everywhere and huge garbage can in hallway very noisy. The mattress was very comfortable though and the people that worked there were very friendly other than that two thumbs down. Sorry RRI that renovation your doing is far overdue, but because of the staff and look Arion knowing it's doing a 2nd floor renovation on the red roof inn here in Vernon, CT. This Inn is very clean prior to any work but needs sinks and carpets pulled and new floors installed. Make red roof inn great again! being renovated, 6 month project, I'd check it out again when I come to the windy city. Im from CT and actua.

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Great location for tourists wanting to see all Chicago has to offer. The rooms on the other hand were found wanting, definitely could be updated with fresher bathrooms and a whole new look in the room decor. But if you're looking for a place to crash for a night this will do just fine.

Hotel for small budgets. That's all that has to say about positive about the hotel. We don't pay much. However it is really great location. Right in the city center.

The location is amazing! Just a few minutes walk from amazing food, navy pier, and great sights to see. For the price, it's good. Some things that were a problem: the elevator is a little on the small side and it scrapes as it goes up and down. It also broke down at one point. The rooms are also very small. Overall, a good hotel and cheap. Just obviously not premium.

Very good location Not too expensive for its location, staff not necessarily friendly but very decent rooms.

Location for this hotel was great. We understand that this hotel will be renovated next year. It needs renovation! No excuse however for the lack of cleanliness. Open, large outdoor garbage cans in the hallway, no one bothered to put them away. Corners dirty, could use vacuuming regularly. Papers and wrappings on the hallway floor and in the elevator and stayed there for the 3 day duration of our visit. (we watched to see if and how long it would take for it to be removed and then picked up the litter ourselves) No one bothers to pick up litter that is obvious. Rooms were small but improving the cleanliness would make a huge difference. Cost is very high for this location.

A star is too much! Thank goodness I only slept one night in this stable! "Hotel" Dirty! With a smell of fried mixed with mold! But people who write clean rooms, etc… I wonder what kind of hygiene you are accustomed to in your home… Mah?! In the elevator I had to plug my nose and I almost wanted to close my eyes. Then, I'll save you the details of what I found on the carpet in the room… It also takes a lot of courage to undress in such a greasy room! I was able to resist just because the bathroom, albeit very ugly (old), was clean!
Of course, then it has the advantage of the location a stone's throw from the Magnificent Mile, 10 minutes walk from the Navy Pier, and not far from the Loop. But the next time I'm in Chicago, I'm sure I won't come back here!

The best of the hotel is the location. Cleaning and treatment can be improved.

Loved it! Right around the corner from a few really nice bars and bistros. Got a good price for staying downtown. Nice tv, comfy beds, clean bathroom, I'm not crazy picky though.

It is a nice hotel near the tourist area, however the rooms are very small, we were 4 people and we tropezabamos with our things. The lobby was very dirty, the elevators were very slow. The attention was good but the truth is that buscaria choice in our next vacation to Chicago.

Only at half occupancy and staff refused to let us switch rooms for multiple problems we were experiencing (tv did not work, Wi-Fi signal in our room did not work, no door lock, etc). Staff extremely rude and not helpful. Manager stated that all our complaints were "not his problem" and that services were free and he did not have to accommodate us. We booked hotel for a week — will never stay at a RedRoof again because of staff here and this terrible experience.

Don't ever book at red roof motel. I booked a room and on the day we were supposed to check in there was a huge snow storm and we weren't able to make it and instead of refunding me my money back or offering something else they told me no refunds and I was going to get charged a cancellation fee and when I called corporate the customer service person was extremely rude and even yelled at me through the phone. It is ridiculous. Really bad service and extremely bad customer service never ever booking a motel there again.

Worst service I have ever received. Management treats there employees horribly and management has No sense of hospitality. Guests are barley taken care of and management was rude. I will never stay at this horrible roach like hotel which by the way is falling apart at the seams. I was threatened my management numerous times and Heidi the so called GM NEEDS HOSPITALITY TRAINING IMMEDIATELY.

On very short notice, this was great value and comfort so close to Mag Mile! Clean room and great staff. Thanks to Michael and the gang! Kevin Cook Room 811 Feb 3-4.

In need of a complete overhaul. The rooms are tiny but mostly okay, though sounds travel everywhere. The low price seemed to attract drunken fools who talked far too loudly each night after 2am.

Location perfect, price good, everything else.

I commented trip with two friends in the month of October 2011, the stay was excellent, rooms were clean and are in line with the price one pays. Do not forget to place the poster to do the service of the room because but do not.
The only downside is that we stole into the room and nobody took over.
The rest as the location of the hotel is excellent is close to everything for walk and close to transport public, very comfortable when you need to find places to be visited. You have machines ticket machines at some time one want to eat or drink.
I recommend it, but take care of your belongings, leave everything under lock and key.
