I stayed here recently with my daughter, this place is splendid! The breakfasts the hostess cooked for us were out of this world. The house inside and out was gorgeous, we will be going back to Savannah and we will definitely be staying there. I have added a couple pictures, one is the front of the house, the other is the fountain in Forsyth Park at night. Forsyth Park is right across the street and beautiful. Amethyst Garden Inn is truly a treasure.

I stayed here recently with family and this place is amazing! The hostess is so helpful; suggesting places to visit, tours to take and restaurants around the city. She also made the most amazing breakfast. The house is beautiful and located very close to museums and walking distance to many locations as well. I will never stay anywhere else when I visit Savannah!

Cute little inn in Savannah. Rooms are cute and very clean. Breakfast was to-die-for. Chemise is the crown jewel of this place. She is very helpful and does an amazing job!

We loved our stay at the Amethyst Inn! It was perfect walking distance to Forsyth Park and everything else you'd want to get to in downtown Savannah while still being far enough out that you didn't hear any noise and got a great night's sleep. Beyond a delicious homemade breakfast made by the friendliest and most accommodating Inn manager, Chemise, our room was cozy and spacious with plenty of room to move around comfortably. We'll definitely be staying at the Amethyst Garden Inn during our next trip to Savannah.

This place was awesome. It had great charecter, was close to everything, clean, and the caretaker was super friendly and helpful!

After AirBnB screwed our entire Eclipse 2017 vacation to SC we abandoned ship and hoped for the best in one of the very last rooms available at the Amethyst. Chemise our host is the BEST thing about Savannah and thats saying something. She is an amazing chef, is knowledgeable about the area and its dos and donts, and truly made us feel at home. We stayed in the Ivy room in the hottest part of summer and it was comfortable the entire time. Its so nice to come and go with the comforts of home (and the surprise brownie and hot cup of tea too! ). This Inn is so pretty… perfectly situated outside of the chaotic river district but very close enough for a few minute drive for day trips and directly cattycorner to a clean and extensive package store (yay! ). Just a 2 min drive to Kroger. Great TV service. The pool is gorgeous. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. We can't wait for our next vacation and have decided to make this an annual visit — we are definitely rebooking here at the Amethyst Garden Inn.

We had a wonderful experience staying here. We stayed in Magnolia room, well appointed, comfortable bed and quite. Our hostess Chemise was very accommodating and knowledgeable about Savannah and what it has to offer. Breakfast was delicious freshly prepared at home served family style. We have opportunity to meet other guests and share travel experiences. The owner was kind and generous to offer us a complimentary night for our next visit. We will absolutely be staying at Amethyst Garden in the future.

My experience with Amethyst Garden was wonderful! The Ivy Room, where we stayed, as well as the rest of the house, was charmingly furnished, with an attention to detail—lovely hardwood floors & high ceilings to boot. Our room was spacious and quiet, and my fiancé was thrilled that the bed was so comfortable (so was I; he is picky! ). They bathroom was large and like new with a Roman-tiled shower and glass door. Everything was spotless, and the breakfast made by Chemise was a delightful treat (snickerdoodles — yum! ). Savannah proved to be a lovely, romantic city, and I would recommend Amethyst Garden for a Savannah visit.

Unfortunately, this place has gone downhill tremendously since the last review in 2015 — I'm guessing it's due to new ownership. Upon arrival at 12 noon, my best friend Teryn, her 11 year old daughter, and myself were greeted by the front desk clerk for check in. She informed us that they had assigned us a smaller room than we would probably want, and so she offered the larger room for an additional $30/night. Upon seeing the larger room, we agreed and paid for the entire weekend's stay upfront ($600+). We then proceeded to spend the next 9 hours siteseeing and touring Savannah. At 9 pm, Teryn received a call from the front desk clerk saying the owner had come by and said that he doesn't allow 3 people in the room we checked into, and our only options were to pay for a second room (at $300/night) or pack up and go elsewhere. She apologized profusely, saying the owner wouldn't budge, but that she would refund us for the inconvenience. We could actually hear him next to her telling her what to say to us, but refused to talk with us directly. After an unsuccessful 1.5 hrs on the phone with Expedia (who we'd booked the room through) saying that because Amethyst House collected our money directly their hands were tied, we headed back to collect our things and move to another hotel. Once there, the owner refused to refund our money saying we'd already checked in, but he would be "generous" and allow us to all stay in the room for an additional $90/night.

We stayed here for our ten year anniversary, and we would go back in a heartbeat. Great location, and very nice accommodations.

They were painting, but the place is still beautiful! We stayed here 13 years ago and lived it then as well!

Beautiful house and great location.

I choose the Amethyst Inn because I specifically wanted to stay in a Victorian B&B on my first trip to Savannah. This house is beautiful. I am not usually a morning person but Chemise's breakfasts are worth getting up for! It is about a 20 minute walk to the riverfront, so I left my car there every day and walked, avoiding the hassle of finding parking. While I had some ideas of what I wanted to do while in town, Chemise gave me other suggestions as well and I ended up enjoying everything she suggested. I loved the town and the Amethyst Inn so much that I ended up extending my stay an extra night! The staff here definitely added that extra something that made my trip to Savanah really special.

This was our second time going to Savannah. The first time we stayed in a crummy hotel and didn't have nearly as good of a time as we did on our latest trip. Our latest trip was an absolute pleasure and the folks at the Amethyst Inn are a large part of that. The hotel is located in a nice part of town. It is a quiet, suburban neighborhood which is very close to the large Forsyth park and some beautiful churches but away from the heavy tourist traffic by the river, which I preferred. Although it was close enough that my wife and I walked to the river several times. The rooms themselves are quite nice. We stayed in the Hydrangea room, which was very nicely decorated with a gas fireplace, a full kitchen and bathroom and two beds. Our room opened up in to a beautiful garden/courtyard. We brought our two King Charles Spaniels to this dog-friendly inn and they were able to meander around the courtyard. The owners were very friendly and fun to chat with. They worked extra hard to get us reservations at restaurants that were booked solid, to give us advice on great things to do and to cook great meals for us. These are folks who go the extra mile to ensure you enjoy their beloved city. My wife and I travel frequently and stay at bed and breakfasts often. I can honestly say Jane's cooking was the best food I've ever had at a bed and breakfast. We ate at some wonderful restaurants in the town but we looked forward to her food as much as these restaurants.
