Every time I stay at this hotel I always leave satisfied. Very convenient location and friendly staff. Only reason why I won't give it a 5 star is because of the mix up and us being told at the last minute that our room has been changed but it worked out for the better. The lady at the front desk was very accommodating. And the room we had didn't have a long length mirror but there was one out side the room by the elevator. And the air conditioning was AMAZING! Totally recommend.

We went to dirty south beach to have some fun before the storm however like I said it was so dirty so we just walked ocean drive came across this place to eat. Don't eat here and if u do watch how much you spend! They have a 20% gratuity included our bill came to $130 for 2 drinks crabs a pizza and fish. The portion was large and yes it was good but the service was not worth a $20 tip at all.

Business partner and I ordered a steak and a Heineken. The steak was the worst I have ever eaten and the Heineken was $9. Service was non existent … long story short the small badly cooked steak and beer cost over $60. Completely ripped off. Nothing like paying top dollar for bad food and bad service. Maybe go there if you want a cocktail but don't go there if you want service or dinner.

While this place is not fancy, it gets the job done. It's clean and reasonably priced. There is a $100 deposit charged at Check-In to cover late Check-Outs, etc but it is politely returned when you check out on time. It's right at the beach and in the center hub of Ocean Drive. I enjoyedmy stay here.

Patty the receptionist is the rudest person I've ever come across, she has a serious attitude problem and doesn't even know it. She thinks she's polite and helpful but believe me, she is horrible. Doesn't even stop eating to greet you and handle your check in. Also website advertised self parking, a reason we picked the hotel, but when we got there we were told $30 valet is the only option so don't believe anything on their website. Rooms are ok but old, v old and run down. The bar below and to the side are very noisy until 2am so just wear ear plugs, don't bother trying to sleep without them. Just stay somewhere else if you can.

This place was horrible… horrible service didn’t ask for refills or anything all the waiter did was take the order. Super expensive for 2 meals that I ordered some dry quesadillas. The drinks were $5 a coke was 5 dollars. They automatically charge u $7 to the bill weather if the waiter was good or bad. I don’t recommend this place to nobody.

Expensive food that is definitely not worth it. Horrible service also, never came by for refills or anything. Ghetto atmosphere too. Don’t waste your time. For the price you can eat at better places on the beach!

Service was great and it is the best location ever! Right on the strip and across the steeet from the beach! Hotel is nothing fancy very basic room but it was clean and a safe place to sleep! Would definitely stay again!

Came for spring break from Ga with the family asked for 2 non smoking rooms! Only got 1 non smoking and when asked to be changed the receptionist said she couldn't do nothing! Ok husband and I dealt with the stinch Not acceptable! The shower leaked from bathroom to the bedroom, the bed covers smelled and made us itch, for $1500 For a 3day weekend we expected more since the hotel is in a great area in front of beach with a bar and other great food locations, we expected a better stay and great service for what we paid, I enjoyed my time with the family but expected more from the hotel.

Very reasonable priced hotel on Ocean Ave in the Art Deco strip in South Beach Miami. Comfortable room, great location across from Luma's park and the beach. Not high end by any means but clean and comfortable and half the price of the other hotels in that area.

It is a hotel to sleep and that's it. The room was ok, the bathroom also, the friendly receptionist.

Rooms old noise in the corridors difficult and expensive to park is valet parking that you saved the car in a public parking lot and they charge 30U$D day.

Upon are our arrival the receptionist named Patty, who was eating and spiting food out her mouth while she talks, was so rude. Ms. Patty seen five of us and stated oh you must have two rooms. I said no we booked ocean front for five! I spoke to Jenny who said it would have two double beds and, a couch. She replied, there is nothing I can do because we have no more rooms. I asked for supervisor or manager, and she said there was none, she will see what she can do in the morning. We asked for extra sheets, she said we don’t have any. As we walked into the room it reeked of marijuana and urine. The room was dirty and the sheets were filthy. Having no choice but to sleep there, we stayed the night. Next morning, Patty called and said she was working on getting a room. On our way to get coffee, we realize Patty was at the front desk playing games with a child. As we waited for check in at the great Four Points Sheraton, Patty called upstairs, a new room would open at 11:30 AM. We decided to just take a peak maybe, just maybe it was just our room that was bad! But, unfortunately it was just as nasty. Once Patty was told we were leaving she, became even more rude and disrespectful. When I reached home I called to make a compliant, I spoke to a Marcella who was combative and defensive. When asked to speak to manager she said he was on vacation. After calling back several times she said try him in an hour he stepped out. I left him several messages still no call back.

We wanted to graduate from a hostel, so our standards weren't too high. We booked through a package so it was part of a good (cheap! ) deal. Anyway, the room was clean and we were thrilled to find a fridge and microwave in our room. We were very satisfied with our stay!

Location. Locxation. Location. Right on South Beach among the restaurants, bars etc. Older hotel, so do not expect updated facilities; reminded me of older European hotels. Room was large enough for a king size bed, dresser, small fold down sofa, fridge and microwave. No coffeemaker, but that was okay as we would rather walk Ocean Blvd. And get coffee at cafe. Most important things: Room and bathroom were very clean, lots of good towels and linens and staff were very nice and accomodating.

Great place and wonderful views. Everything is in walking distance. Night life is to die for. Beach is directly in front of hotel. I have stayed here many times and the rooms have been painted along with updated TV. You need to realize thus is 60 years old and is not your standard holiday Inn hotel. For the location and price and view. It's a great bargain.

Great location and staff. The bad: I'm not sure the cleaning crew know what a mop or soap is. We used the towel to dry the floor off of outside the shower. Looks like they don't mop the floor. The second picture is the sheets on my bed. Perhaps a better detergent and or bleach would work. The room is also bare bones. B.

As all miami beach hotel, expensive compared to what it offers. Not include any meals. Does not have parking, you must use the valet parking, which is additional cost. The best thing is the location, opposite the beach. The Ideal place to spend a night.

For the price its worth every penny. Room is clean everything is neat also when arrived asked for a better price at the front desk and they did it what else can you ask for. Woke up and had a nice view out the window. Def Recommend and will stay here next tims in town.

First time in Miami. Took my mom and brother to the restaurant and had a pretty terrible experience. We sat down and we were excited to try a drink we saw on the menu. The waitress was very impatient and when we asked a question about the drink, she said "We don't have that drink, it's just a picture on the menu. " The drink we decided on was pretty expensive so we said "thank you" and decided to leave. A waiter called us "cheap" to another waiter as we were leaving. Pretty disappointed in the entire experience.

Great location. Def a budget spot, but can't beat the walk to the beach. Near tons of shopping too. Staff is friendly, place is clean enough if a little outdated. Ac is fantastic in the room. Biggest complaint is the noisy patrons, super rude/inconsiderate. Overall decent stay if not expecting a full fledged hotel and more a place to sleep (once it quiets down) and launch day/night time adventures.

Room tight, nothing comfortable, not very pretty and there was a cockroach dead in the bathroom when you arrive for the first time.

What are the first thoughts that come to mind when you think of a hotel by the beach and restaurants on ocean drive? You most likely think of beauty and convenience. Unfortunately, this was not the case for my husband and I. This hotel was not worth the money. The room looked nothing like the picture. It was outdated and you can see the pipes from the ceiling. Not to mention, there was a chain on the door, the kind you may see in a bad neighborhood. We also had to request new sheets because it looked like there were dog prints on them. However, there were no queen sized sheets left so we were stuck with full sized sheets. It was the most awkward experience. I am not picky about hotels but this one was by far the worst hotel. However, the receptionist we came across were very nice and understanding of our unhappiness but the hotel comfort was definitely not the best. Please seek out other options.

They have remodeled since we stayed there years ago and the improvements are welcome. Our room was small, but sufficient. We had a fridge and microwave, which was lovely. It's an old hotel like most on SoBe and the elevator was extremely slow. The service was ok. We ate lunch at restaurant in front of hotel. The food was not bad… a cheeseburger and fries. They have the two huge glass drinks for $45. We didn't get those, but they looked yummy.

The Starlite is a great small sized hotel right in the heart of all the action. The rooms seem to have been recently renovated and are quite comfortable. Our room backed onto the alley on the south side of the building, so you could hear music pretty easily, but with the window closed we were able to sleep with out any problem. The hotel could use a bag check, currently everyone just leaves their luggage in the hallway, which dosn't seem like the safest option.

Definitely worth the price! Clean rooms, great location, couldn't really ask for more! The front desk ladies took care of us and were very accommodating, they all deserve raises because they make the hotel! Patty is the absolute best! Would love to stay here again! Thank you Starlite for making our time in South beach that much better!

Nice Hotel located between 7 and 8 Street of Ocean Drive then in the center of the casino for those who do not have cars and the maximum at 50 meters crossing the road there is the beach with 8 fields of beach soccer staff friendly rooms large and clean everyday great mattress does not take You rooms from 212 to 216 because they are over the kitchen (so stinks various) then with this price what more do you want. Happy holidays.

Affordable and is right across from the street from beach. The staff was wonderful. The Starlite Hotel itself is in a chain of similar hotels from the 1960's and is a reflection of that error. The Starlite could most definitely could use a remodeling in the inside. If you are on a budget keep in mind you get what you pay for. We made it work for us but all things considered if I had to due too affordability I would stay there again.

We booked a stay here May 4 through May 6, 2016. I was very disappointed! The room looked nothing like the pictures displayed. There was pipes running throughout the ceiling, the door didn't close properly and the hot water didn't work. To top it all off, they had roaches. When we reported it, the guy at the desk ask what size? Does it matter? We left immediately. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL unless you want to bring friendlies home with you!

Kinda janky, but best location on South Beach at cheapest cost. If you want a great hotel then triple your budget and keep looking. Otherwise, you want a decent place to lay your head in between partying on South Beach then look no further. Yes, the rooms are noisy, the staff is, well, unpleasant at times. The building does reek of weed, but I'm okay with that. The place is generally pretty clean.

Stay away from the restaurant! Beware! Stay away! This place is a scam! They are involved in a credit card scam! After giving the waiter my credit card to pay the bill, he stole it! The waiter strategically placed two of his friends next to our table. When it came time to pay the bill I handed the waiter my card, within a few minutes I see one of his thug friends get up from the table and the waiter begin to look under the tables as if he had lost something. At this time I did not know my card was missing. The waiter continued to put on an act as if he was looking for something for about five minutes. Finally, I decided to question the waiter about what he was looking for and he told me my card! After 20 minutes of the watching the waiter pretend to look for my card I told the waiter I wanted to speak to the manager. His response was GIVE ME A FEW MORE MINUTES TO LOOK! He refused to go get the manager! I had to go to another employee to ask for the manager! The manager eventually came but he was rude, non-apologetic and not helpful! He did not offer any sympathy nor an apology. He didn't offer any percentage off our bill. He was more concerned about the drinks remaining on our table after midnight on SOBE. I guess this is customer service in SOBE. He even had the audacity to accuse someone in my party of having the card. I eventually called the police. The police came and the waiter lied to the police about receiving the card!

Omg this hotel, what a joke the walls are so thin I could hear everything from three doors down, it smells of nothing but weed. We got no sleep becuse of how noisy it was, for the price stay at super 8.

Stayed here during the week one night before heading out on a cruise. I had a bad feeling from the start about this place. Upon arrival at 1:30 I called to ask about checking 30 minutes early — Expedia has check-in listed as 2pm. The extremely rude hotel staff told me "that was wrong" and checkin was actually 3pm. Not a problem, mistakes happen. We grabbed some late lunch and hung out. At 3:30pm I went to the hotel and was told my room was not quite ready yet. I advised about the expedia checkin saying 2pm again, the front desk lady told me "yeah well they need to change that. " I was advised to come back in about an hour. Finally at 5pm I stopped by and was told my room was ready. The room was ground floor, back of the hallway, and smelled of marijuania. It was "spring break" for a lot of colleges so I tried to over look it. Throughout the night it was nothing but noise from passing party's in the hall, engines revving on the strip, and loud music. Opening the room door revealed people in the hallway smoking marijuania WITH THE HOTEL STAFF! Determined to get some rest we finally fell asleep. Waking at 8am to the sound again of loud music, I went into the dark bathroom. Turning on the lights in the bathroom is when I discovered 4-5 roaches on the walls. At that point I was leaving the hotel. While quickly packing my bag to get out we discovered another cock roach on the wall across from the bed coming out from behind the TV. A very TERRIBLE experience at this hotel!

Great location and nice clean rooms with a very art deco feel. Walls are a little paper thin but nice hotel for the value and nice restaurant as well good food and drinks.

We stayed about a week ago… it reminded of a dorm. It was clean with tile floors and a in wall ac, the room were very small… but the staff was nice… if you are not going spend a lot of time in the room and are looking for something inexpensive this is good. There so many restaurants right outside the hotel and the beach is literally across the street.

Where do I begain I guess it's listed bc it's on the strip well its not to bad but def not what they show you online hotel staff weren't to bad Sussie was a big sweet heart! The elevator does not have air nore do the steps! If you're looking for some where just to sleep and party this might be your spot! But if you're looking for something a lil cleaner and upscale stay away!

I went for my honeymoon around June 1st or so of 2014. IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCE EVER! The lady at the front desk spoke spanish and she was beyond friendly and amazing. I kid you not! We had reserved a room but she was able to get us a Honeymoon suite, which made our honeymoon so special. It meant so much for us that she blessed us. The room was amazing and had a great view and the bed. The bed. Its was so comfy. We DID NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES with staff or hotel. Hotel was clean, and in the middle of the beach and stores and music and EVERYTHING! Love love love this hotel! THANK YOU AGAIN STARLITE.

In my opinion like the satellite hotel is one of unique hotels almost have everything in Miami Beach, Florida mini fridge, bed, bathroom, outdoor bar you name it.

Great location! Clean, small, convenient and comfortable room. Not big enough for more than 2 people. Our room was on the 3rd floor and towards the alley-side of the hotel. Had no issues with noise considering all the partying going on Ocean Drive. Was awakened by the super loud garbage truck in the morning, that slams around every dumpster like a maniac. Great tour discounts at front desk for being a guest at the hotel. We will be returning to this hotel.

HOTEL THAT CONDONES ILLEGAL DRUG USAGE! My hotel stay at the Starlite started off excellent. I received an ocean view room which is located right across from the beach and which is located right on Ocean Drive. A week into my stay (2 days before I was leaving) I came back and noticed a strong odor of Marijuana emanating from the room next door to me. I talked to the graspy voiced receptionist (Marcy), to complain about the odor and smoke, especially due to my asthma. I was shocked with the response "they all do it here" and was prompted to put a towel under my door. Came down later, and complained again, introduced her to the smell in my room and was offered an air freshener. Yet she told the person in the room next to me to stuff more towels by the door and open the window. -hotel is smoke free (as listed on all major sites. Expedia, Hotwire etc) Apparently there is no way to reach hotel management expect through the website, was never give a phone number, a name or anything.

Great location, great rooms but very small. The rude white fat lady at the front desk will make you feel so unwelcome she treats you competently horrible if your younger she made us hate that hotel. I lost my key and asked for another and she called me "completely irresponsible" and "surprised I can afford this hotel". Then she got mad because I knocked on the door to my room so my sister will answer once she told me I would have to call her to answer the door instead of knocking. The maid was a nice woman she really knows how to clean and is very welcoming and apologized that I was feeling irritated because of the front desk/owner. The hookah bar beneath has ridiculous food prices and the hookah is ridiculous 35$ to smoke a bowl pack of hookah that cost them maybe 2$ then a dirty hookah that cost around 20$ on amazon. These people have no idea what their doing at this place.

Recently stayed at the Starlite hotel November 9th-12th. The location of the hotel is perfect, right on ocean drive and right across from the beach. There is a parking garage right down the block which also makes it convenient to park and not have to walk too far. We arrived earlier than check in, the woman at the desk was very nice and accommodating. We went up to the room which was on the 4th floor. We had the view of the ocean and Ocean drive. The room decor was nice and simple. The beds were good. The bathroom was nice, clean and had a modern look. We had a mini fridge, a microwave, and a flat screen TV. The room could use an extra mirror besides the bathroom mirror. Overall we had a good experience. We would definitely come back and stay at the hotel.

Although I rated it as "okay" I still have found myself back there more than once. It is convenient, right in the middle of the action, reasonably priced for South Beach and a great place to crash. I will return next time I am in Miami.

Stayed here for 5 days. Location is excellent. Its right on the strip and in the mid of everything. Wet Willies is at the corner, Fat Tuesdays about 2 blocks, all the restaurants and best of all the beach rt across the street. Room was average but comfy and clean. All the rooms come with a fridge which is by far a def plus. Free beach towels. Friendly staff. Nice choice if going on a budget.

Great Hotel to kick back and chill for a few days! They have a great location in a Art Deco building seconds away from the beach. They have a small Hookah Bar/Cafe downstairs that has some amazing fire shrimp! MUST TRY.
