This is a lovely historic hotel which serves a great breakfast and has a lovely pool area. It backs directly onto Miami Beach. Would be very happy to recommend.

Beautiful 1920's original hotel. Lovely welcome from the very helpful receptionist. Pool and hot tub open till midnight. Hot tub is hot!

Needs a bit of an update. Guess they don't expect people to watch tv. It was very small and four channels. Bathrooms really are small and toilet so close to the wall can barely use the paper roll. They lied about shuttle from airport. We had to end up getting an uber to/from airport. When we tried to checkout, couldn't rouse the desk worker who was apparently asleep. Called the desk, knocked in the door, etc. Staff for the most part were friendly. Not enough plug ins, especially for this day and age with electronics. Location is great though, pool and beach were great.

Gustavo and the chef Jr. Made our dinning and entertaining my son's birthday a special event! Food great, stay awesome… Vintage decore but it was a nice and clean. The tropical pool and hot tub area was awesome had the best Miami South Beach experience!

If you are older and want to spend a lot of money on dirty and antiquated rooms than this your place. The best thing about the hotel is its pool. No room service, broken gum equipment, no resort services. No happy hour or drink specials like all the other hotels on the strip. The staff is nice. For all the money you will spend go to another hotel.

Let me start by saying we've been coming to Miami for years by far this is the worst hotel we've ever stayed at. First of all we checked in the first room they gave us we had to change because it smells so bad like mold we couldn't even breathe. Second room they gave us wasn't much better there was mold in the bathtub and the carpet is filthy dirty. Ac is not cold room is always hot. I can't stress it enough don't waste your money. We were thrown out of the pool at midnight who closes their pool in Miami Beach @midnight after all we are on vacation this hotel has nothing else to do but the pool. Trying to get towels is like pulling teeth they will only give you two towels at a time I could go on and on this is just the worst hotel to stay at don't waste your money or your time.

We booked the Richmond Hotel for our Honeymoon based on photo's on their website. Once we arrived we were shocked to see how unrealistic the pictures were. The room we were in was on the first floor, it was SMALL. It was also extremely out dated, ranging from the carpeting, the furnishings and the bathroom fixtures. The shower was so small, had almost no water pressure and no hot water. Although the location is good, in close proximity to shopping, eating, and the beach the hotel was disappointing. If there had been any kind of amenities such as drinking water, coffee, or a cleaning service it would've made the stay slightly better. Also don't bring a car, parking at the hotel is $40 a day.

Aways check your bank statement before you check out. Your $50 security deposit could turn into $559.53. When you get home it will take you 5 days to get a MANAGER to finally CONTACT you after calling your problem in numerous times. I had to finally have my bank and I on a 3 way conversation to clear the hotel's huge mistake. The most annoying part was that I prepaid my stay. I only gave my card up for the security $50 that was to be returned to me at check out. They put in $559.53 instead of $50. Did I get an apology for their mistake, my time consuming numerous calls to fix the problem or compensation? NO… Did the manager call me to say the error was corrected as he had said he would? NO My money was held for 5 days and it was put back into my account, no thanks to Ricmond Hotel. Extremely Disappointed. Never again.

The front desk staff were great. The hotel could use some updating. I understand it is old and vintage — which is awesome, but I feel like they could update the carpet, etc while keeping the vintage feel. The restaurant by the pool could use an overhaul, as could the furniture in the lounge at the rear of the hotel. There is so much potential here if some money was reinvested. The location was great with a short walk to the beach and the strip. I wasn't crazy about the $15.00 a day charge for a beach umbrella. Parking was $45.00 a day. There was a $35.00 daily resort fee. Be prepared to spend some money.

Horrible hotel! Stay away from it. Anything you see on the website is not even closer to reality. Rooms stink, halls stink, everything you see around you is so old I'm even surprised they let this facility be in business. Our room smelled so badly from mold and who know what else that it was impossible to sleep there at night. First they told us they were sold out, and then after I was ready to leave the hotel they put us in a "better" room. Trust me, there isn't much you can surprise me with, and Richmond did it! In the most negative way of course.

Our experience is very good. It is a very nice place, clean, comfortable and the attention is careful. We hired him on line and they respected absolutely agreed. The pool heated and the internal exit to the Beach excellent! Meeting with Spanish-speaking staff was also very helpful. Really fulfilled with our expectations! We recommend it!

We stayed at this hotel for a week.
At the beginning we were checked in a room with the view for the wall. We paid for the superior room with the view for the pool!
After the interfvetion we got the right room.
When we checked out the same lady who doesn’t know what IT means to be nice and smiling couldn’t got me a invoice because she claimed that IT is not possible!
I sent two e-mails with asking for invoice but I didn’t receive the answer.
I visited over 50 Countries in all around the world and never seen such a weak customer service.

An appealing Art deco hotel with charming palm garden right on the beach of Miami Beach South, through the garden directly to the sea, good restoration, at this price unbeatable in Miami.

Good choice in Miami beach. Cheap and located on Collins Avenue. Its swimming pool and great and full of palm trees to protect you from the sun. It has back exit to the beach. The rooms a little dated but if what you want is location and price this is your hotel.

Great location on Collins Avenue, a walk from Lincoln Road. Not large but cute pool, with hot tub and direct access to the beach. Poolside loungers and on the beach available. Inaccurate maintenance and cleaning, squeaky bed, however courteous staff and spacious room at a good price for the location.

In a nutshell: Location, excellent. Pool lovely. Art deco. Friendly staff. Quaint room. (Ask for room 418 direct view over pool) Bed, hard. Bathroom tiny… no place to put toiletries! (My bathroom on cruise was larger with shelves…)

The Hotel has an area to improve. The Staff is friendly the valet staff was great. We arrived in the morning from a Cruise with kids. I didn't know they didn't have rooms with 2 beds, but when I stated I was going to cancel and go to another hotel, they stated they were able to provide a roll-away bed. At the end, they didn't have anything and we had to improvise. The tub was a clog and the room was very damp, the smell was strong. For the price they charge per night, is not worth it.

This is a old obsolete hotel in a good location on Collins Avenue. This is a convenient location when visiting south Miami Beach. The best plan is to Reno to modern standard. It does have direct beach access which at the going price is a plus. The Wifi works in the lobby but not all the rooms. The rooms are small at about 10 x 14. The bathroom is tiny, dated. There are hardly any outlets for charging electronics. The saff is friendly and well meaning but struggle with what they have. When it comes to the place you get what you pay for.

Richmond Hotel had the nicest and most tentative staff and management. Our original trip plans got messed up trough Travelocity so we were not sure about this place based on the ratings and comments about it being out dated. Honestly our stay was goof. The hotel could use a lot of updating but our room and most of all our bed was clean, the hotel has direct access to the beach and is a prime location for shopping and dining! I feel as though we got our money worth. I would have loved to see more action at the poolside but there was plenty of action everywhere else we went.

Definitely has potential. Front desk staff and doormen excellent. Cleaning staff ignorant and rude. Started vacuuming outside my door at 9am. We were next to their storage room. They would congregate and talk loudly at all hours. Room was classic but the bathroom needs major upgrades. Mattress sagged in the middle and the walls are paper thin. Heard everything from everyone on all sides. Nice older building just needs some tender love and care to make it awesome. Back pool area to the beach is amazing!

It is a place perfectly located, with good Atencio6, a beautiful heated pool, clean rooms and very good cleanliness. Price and quality, go by hand.

ART deco, yes but in its jus annėe 50 nothing has bougė… clean room C is the only positive point, staff you fleece or do not even answer your requests…
The rest all the same very mediocre… big work is necessary as well as a coaching of the staff!

If I could give this place a — 5 I would. I tried them using Groupon based on the proximity to the beach. We were told the pool was heated… it’s not. We were told there was a hot tube. It didn’t work. There were unidentifiable bugs which made there presence know on day 1. The bed was old and sunk to the floor when my wife got in… she’s 130lbs. The final straw was upon returning from a full day of hanging in S Beach my wife’s wallet was stolen from our room. The managers response was ‘call the police. ‘ I will sir and I hope they arrest the owners of this delapidated shack.

Rooms were dainty and moist. Water pressure was absolutely pathetic (weak). Staff was nice but overall needs some serious cleaning and duct work.

The Richmond is a rundown hotel where no one answers the phone. Our room was one of the worst rooms I have ever stated in. The phone did not work, the windows would not stay up (had to use a magazine), and the blinds would not stay up (had to rap the cord around the left side). The baseboard was about an inch off the floor on the right side of the room as if the floor was settling. The room was old and dirt as well as the hotel. Worst of all, the waitress forged a $15.47 tip for the crappy free breakfast. I left a message for the manager, but he will not return my call. Save your money and stay at a nice hotel.

The thermostat is inoperable in the room and no coffee maker. On checkout I placed my roomkey on the desk and walked to the exit to meet my ride. The desk clerk was with a guest and I didnt want to interrupt. The desk clerk angrily yells at me to ask what room I was in while angrily staring at me and chides me as a child that he needs to check me out. I provide the room number and while I wait for my ride he continues to try to stare me down. I suggest everyone stay away from the inept staff and unwelcome attitude of this hotel. It would be a great place if the desk clerks were competent and room thermostats were operable.

I stayed here for 8 days in October. The location of the hotel is very convenient because it's right on Collins avenue, close to all the good spots (Restaurant, Beach, Bank, Walgreens) it's a 10 min walk from the strip where you will find 2 or 1 drinks and Fat Tuesday. The staff was courteous and helpful. Pool was a decent size and there's a path from the hotel that leads straight to the beach. Cons: You will have to ask for a small refrigerator for your room. (its free) Hotel breakfast was expensive and not worth the price and the hotel could use a modern day update. With all that said I would definately stay there again.

Don't come! Find another hotel. The only good thing, the staff. He needs a very good reform, go of those to close the hotel and make new, that to enter. Missing curtains in the bathroom sale, you listen to those in the room next door. The breakfast is not of "Resort" or anything like it, fruit, two slices of mas with jam and butter, juice, coffee and to run, if you do not have it included $13. The mattress of the hotel time bed, to pull. If you clean the pool it would be a detail and change the mattresses of the hammocks. On the beach there is no representation of the hotel, the others in the area if you have it.

Customer service can make or break a business in the tourism industry. Unfortunately, I found the customer service to be horrible at the Richmond Hotel. I don’t live far from Miami and was looking for a quick overnight getaway. I came across the Richmond Hotel on Groupon. Knowing that Groupon takes a large percentage of the list price, I thought I’d do the hotel a favor and book with them directly so their profit margin would be better. Their website says, “Should you ever find a bookable rate (for our property) offered on another website for the same room type, dates, rate payment requirements and restrictions which is lower than the rate that we are offering to you: please contact us. We will gladly match – or beat – that rate. ” Instead, the first person I talked with said they won’t match prices. When I quoted the price match guarantee from the website, I was
abruptly forwarded to voice mail for reservations. I left a message but never got a call back. When I called back again both people I spoke with said they could not help me, that I needed to speak with Nobi. I left another message at her extension after confirmation that she was in the office but never received a call back. I tried calling several times over the span of a week and tried to be very patient. Very frustrating and a poor reflection on the staffing at the hotel.

Great location but rooms need a little upgrade! POSITIVE — Location: Beachfront hotel with private access to the beach, close enough to South Beach, but without its night commotion; Just a few meters from Miami Beach Airport Express (route 150) bus stop (Collins Av@18 St) ; — Staff: They were always very nice and helpful! NEGATIVE — Room decoration: Decoration could use a little upgrade! Carpet in a beach hotel doesn't make any sense! — Breakfast: Although it was not bad (coffee, juice, fruit, toasts, and jam), it still can be improved!

Very nice hotel, valet parking is very expensive but comfortable (40$/day) but everywhere in south beach it is that expensive. I would recommend to take a cheaper parking lot somewhere. Breaktfast is okay, you can chose between scambled eggs and fruit bowl. Pool is nice, Jacuzzi was not working, free beach chairs! Very good and fast Wi-Fi! It has no fridge or microwafe but it is authentic in artdeco style.

I like the place. Rooms were very clean they have direct door to beach. They give you beach tawls and chairs.

Woman at front desk gives rude answers to simple questions. Room wasn't that bad but there were no outlets at any convenient spot, only the bathroom, or far from the bed behind a desk. The water temp was out of wack and never really had warm water despite twisting the shower knobs for 5 minutes prior to showering searching for the warmest temp and also the room smelled like someone had smoked in it and tried to cover the odor with fragrance. Really good rate and location but you def get what you pay for here…

The hotel has a nice charm to it and the pool area is very nice however it needs a little updating. The shower water only has one setting HOT! and the rooms are outdated. The restaurant needs more staff as they are overwhelmed and every order takes a while. The potential is there but it is not up to par for the price and standard set by the pictures online.

Great place, right near the beach. Wendell the desk person at night is a great asset. He recommended some great places.

I travel to SB often. This was my third time at The Richmond and it will be my last. First, and foremost outdated room. No microwave, leaking toilet (519), no bottoms on the thermostat? That means you can't control your room temperature! I had to wait for the second day for the front desk to have someone fix my TV. I had upgraded to an Ocean front view as a surprise for my wife on Mothers day but the window was extremely dirty. Richmond put some money back into your hotel.

Update! The Richmond is actually a pretty decent spot. Rooms are aged, they could use new carpet, add microwaves and coffee makers, but all in all we are pretty satisfied. It's child friendly, pool area is nice, location is amazing, staff is friendly, I really think it's just that the building is old that gets these bad reviews. Beds aren't bad, for the most part I would recommend this hotel if you don't mind a hotel with basic amenities in a good location. Don't eat at Maxine's across the street, you'll regret it. But many other food choices in sobe! Good job Richmond! :)

Its a hotel in need of renovation. Tv did not work, and there were ants in the bathroom. I was totally disappointed.

The reviews listed for this hotel were not good at all and I'm not sure why! This hotel was awesome, clean and the staff was great! Everyday we left the room and returned the room was clean and stocked with all new towels and rags! The pool was area was nice and the private beach entrance was EVERYTHING! I will definitely return back to The Richmond oh and 1 last thing the location is away from the party seen which is a plus at night it's nice and quiet!

First time around we came to a room that was occupied by a naked guy. Then we were given the next room that was covered in pubical hair. I mean everywhere bathroom, floor even the bed sheets DISGUSTING! Worst hotel experience ever!

BAD! We found another persons panties in our room, the A/C was not working at all, plus the vents were busted. They gave us a room with a sofa bed instead of a good "hotel" bed. Terrible experience, and bad service! 40 bucks for vallette parking and we had to wait for almost an hour to go ask where our car was just to find put they haven't send anyone yet to get our car. Worst experience and worst service. HOSPITALITY ZERO! if I could give these place a no star would be perfect. Terrible rooms, terrible bathrooms, terrible everything.

I was in November of 2015 for one night in these departments.
First not there are reception there are that go to the Avenue collins and do the record in that hotel should have a poster that indicate this information since had that ask in several hotels of the sector until achieved get the address to all this rained very strong and came coming of orlando after handle more than 4 hours and to it 1 am.
Second: after registering I got the card and can enter the Department the first impression was good price quality was well bad came after running the TV furniture since this was low and very high bed and you could not see running this furniture had accumulated dirt from long time until cotonitos used ear.
Third: I went to pull the bed to lie down and I found the unpleasant surprise of 4 hairs in different parts of the bed and vermin type ants but white running down the bed as well as a fly died at the lamp all this were this situation bypass around 3 am and went back to the hotel in the Av collins so give me a solution the solution was that they couldn't do anything and I passed clean sheets and pillowcases.

Very well placed Hotel, swimming pool and jacuzzi very good but the most enjoyable is the fact of being 20 m from the private beach for hotels. Room very well served, just missing a good shower head and pressure. I recommend! Good quality price, valet parking a bit expensive but you have better time because in the city good courage for a place and public parking 15 dollars the 2hours.

I've stayed here four different times and it's a great place for being right on the beach and close to all that makes South Beach great. I'm writing this the day before my next stay and can't wait to get back there. I like a hot tub (not easy to find) but this one is really nice and the pool area is never crowded when I've been there. The rooms are small and nothing special but as noted in other reviews, it's an old art deco hotel and all of the places built during this era are this way, in my experience and this is the best value to me. They have a nice lighted magnifying mirror in the bathroom that comes in handy and decent closet space. It always seems very cozy and private. This is my go to hotel when I come to town.

Great hotel for tourists and out-of-towners! My husband and I stayed in this hotel for two nights before our cruise. I had made the reservation through Groupon which ended up causing us some problems when checking in, but the woman at the front desk ended up fixing it AND upgrading our room! Its definitely in the shabby chic category, but it has a beautiful pool and friendly staff, not to mention being right along the beach! Be prepared to pay an arm and a leg for drinks and beach chairs though.

What an amazing little hotel! Just came back from a great stay at Richmond. We had previously booked one night at Richmond studios and 3 at Richmond Hotel and the receptionist was so kind to accommodate us at the hotel instead for no extra fee. Staff is very lovely, food was surprisingly delicious and the pool was a nice extra touch. Perfect location so close to SLS which hosts the best pool day/night parties and Lincoln road. Not sure if the walls were paper thin like most people complain, I mean if you are coming to South Beach to stay inside than you are doing this completely wrong. Beachhh is ammazingg.

The best kept secret in South Beach! The rooms are very clean and the staff was excellent! Particularly the front desk. They were extremely professional and friendly and treated us like gold from the moment we arrived. The location, easy access to the beach and a beautiful pool make this place a must stay when in Miami Beach. I highly recommend this place.

We stayed at the Richmond in January 2014 for 2 separate nights. Our stays were great. The hotel is a relative bargain when you look around at the neighborhood. The staff was always very friendly and accommodating. The location could not be better. The rooms are nothing special. They are well furnished, but this is a 1940's hotel. You can't expect huge rooms and 21rst century design. You are in the art deco district and this hotel is the real deal. My one complaint is that the doors between rooms (adjoining rooms) are thin and transmit a lot of noise. The pool area is very nice in my opinion and the beach is right there. The food and drinks in the restaurant are expensive. I would recommend going elsewhere for food and drinks if only for the price. Overall, a good place and a good deal in south beach.

Amazing stay! I've been in Miami several times and this place definitely had the best customer service. Good food and drinks at the bar (which is close to the pool) and all of the staff were very nice and hospitable. Already recommended to some friends and they are currently staying there and love it as well! Great place!
