Review of Renaissance Fort Lauderdale West Hotel 4*

Where do I begin. We booked 2 suites a month before our wedding because my sister got married to her husband there and the service was above average. The venue we booked was 5 minutes away from this hotel so why not book it there to get ready for our big day. The event coordinator took our card information and personal information and everything went through. Day of wedding comes an our books where not payed for we had no where to stay and it was the beginning of the worst service and discrimination we have ever received. My Wife yes we a lesbian couple. My wife and I have been there for business meeting and one again received excellent service. So why is that it that now it’s a gay wedding and their service was just terrible. Their excuse was they banquet going on so they couldn’t attend us. We weren’t staying there for free so why couldn’t we get the same service. One of the make up artist called for a stool chair so she can do everyone’s make up took 30 minutes we called again someone picked up and hung up the phone clearly we where inconvenience them. My cousin was very upset she went down with my 12 year old to see what was happening. She said their understaffed and they needed to attend the banquet… it’s my wedding their shouldn’t be order of importantance especially since where gay why would it matter. Kendra at front desk gave her stool and told them they could take it from there. So my cousin already upset said well if I get hernia for pulling these 2 stools up with my 12 year old cousin I’m going to sue and the front desk women said well thank God my last name isn’t “Marriot”. When I went down with my bride robe on and half my hair down to see why would this be a joke to her. She thought it was a joke that was her excuse. It’s my wedding why would this be a joke! I have never had the worst days of my life getting ready for my wedding. I advise you all lgbt community this is it a LGBT friendly hotel. Also since they didn’t charge us when we booked the hotel they charged us all that same day we where left with $20 in our account we couldn’t even pay our rent. How dare they just swipe our card with out notice, this was our life time of savings to have our fairytale wedding. Stay away. The worst night of my life. Thankfully I was marrying my soulmate who was a blessing in all of this horrible time.
