The Island house is my favorite home away from home! A perfect place for a family reunion or group of friends gathering. The rooms are newly remodeled — very nice. The Tiki Bar grill area allows us to bring our own food to grill and still feel on vacation. The Owners and staff always make us feel special staying there. We stay multiple weekends a year. Thank you Island House!

This is the most delightful little hotel! Not only is it run by the nicest people, it has everything you need. We have so enjoyed our stay. Can't wait until next time. Thank you Island House!

The owners are amazing. The rooms are beautiful all renovated with kitchenettes. The Beach is right across the street. What else can you ask for?

We loved staying there in January. It was newly remodeled and very affordable compared to other hotels in the area. There was Convenient beach access right across the street and they had a whole closet full of toys and chairs you could take to the beach for the kids. I loved how it still had vintage family vacation vibe, but updated.

The best of the best nice people a delightful homely atmosphere rooms and cleanliness in them not found in any other hotel, who has always come back here once, because it is the only such place with a charming owner.

There is nothing we want or need for when at Island House. They do an amazing job at keeping guest happy and the property is well kept. The rooms are large and have everything you need. Housekeeping staff top notch too.

We travel often, this place by far was the best we had ever stayed in. Clean, spacious, comfortable room. Everything you may need is available. The staff was amazing and so friendly!

Beautiful resort with lots of attention to detail. The room was fully renovated and decorated with great taste. The staff was very friendly and helpful. By far the best hotel we had on our weeks trip around Florida.

This family owned and operated hotel is our go to! The rooms are gorgeously redesigned, spacious, and well-kept. The staff goes above and beyond your expectations, and they have fantastic recommendations. The Island House is perfect for both a romantic get away or a family vacation — and is directly across beach access to the ocean! This jewel is nestled next to so many fantastic restaurants and activities, from para-sailing, jet ski rentals, gator feeding…. I could go on.
If you are looking for a vacation spot, this is it!

This was our first time at the Island House resort. Glad we chose this place. It is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. Looks simple from the outside but the rooms are beautiful. They are newly remodeled and so spacious. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Thanks for making our vacation perfect!

Very friendly staff in all areas, very clean inside and out great location beach is a 2 minute walk, the entire area is clean and scenic. Many places to get food and or drinks. And not as congested as other areas, Clearwater beach, St Pete beach, Johns pass, Treasure island and Pass A Grille all just a short drive away. Pool area is the best I have seen very tropical and all furniture in great shape, gazebos, bar and grilling area. When in Florida in the future I will always try to stay here first every time.

This place is wonderful! The rooms feel as if you paid hundreds for the room but it isn't. Kelly at the front was very nice and inviting. I feel right at home and will definitely be back.

This hotel is small and charming! From the fun fish art on the front railing, to the ship themed tiki hut by the pool, whimsy awaits at every turn! Where else can you find a beautifully lit poolscape replete with floaties of all sorts? I recommend!

This hotel is in a great location and across the street from a quiet, family friendly beach. The rooms are beautiful and modern with kitchen efficiency. Their open air courtyard provides an island feel with grass huts, a BBQ area and an absolutely gorgeous pool that is heated AND beautifully lit at night! This hotel provides tired travelers with everything they need from hair dryers to beach chairs. They even provide beach toys for the kids! BONUS! The hotel is also within walking distance to restaurants and shops and has plenty of parking! Highly recommend!

The owner Kelly is an AWESOME host. Our family has stayed here for 10 years it's close to beach and very family friendly. We have developed some great friendships with people from Canada to Wisconsin to PA.

Everything about this hotel is amazing. Everytime we come staff is amazing and we have a great time today we swam with manatees! love it!

This place is awesome! The new owners continue to invest in this place and it shows. The renovated rooms are beautiful and the others are clean and well maintained. The staff is wonderful and you cannot beat the location as the beach is only a very very short walk across the street. We WILL be back year over year. FYI all rooms have a small kitchen with pots, pans and more. You would be crazy to book anywhere else.

Customer service Great room/pool vary clean hotel is not on the beach like we thought.

We stayed here last week and my girlfriend and I loved it. We switched our reservation to one of the renovated rooms with a king bed and couldn’t be happier. Great value for the money and only across the street to the beach which was a fast and easy walk. Very clean rooms and they’re going through a renovation and can’t wait to see the finished progress. Staff was super nice and friendly, HUGE pool was a plus. If you’re looking for a laid back, clean place to stay look no further. We will definitely be returning.

Spacious and clean. If A/C would have worked properly we would stay here every time. Short walk to beach fun.

The new ownership are making a tremendous difference in fixing the place up. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms and WOW is all we can say! The rooms are spacious and comfortable! Kelly was a tremendous host and we will be back.

This place is conveniently located right across from the beach however that is not what enticed me to send this review. It was the support and extremely friendly service given to me by Ashley. An incredible asset to that place! We will be coming back solely because of her.

I have stayed here many times. The prices are best on the beach and right across from double tree that gets $275 a night. Beautiful pool and Barbeque area and very friendly staff. They are remodeling and the rooms are gorgeous! I am local but going back soon to enjoy a beach weekend.

Unbelievably rude. When I called I was told that she couldnt wait a moment for my girlfriend to get the dates. Ps. Shes disabled so it sometimes takes her a little longer to do things. She makes me wait 10 mins to find out they have no discounts or anything. Will not be staying here.

It was my first time here. My girlfriend and I stayed on October 14, 2017. Perfect walking distance to the beach. It has a classic old Florida hotel feel. The pool is in the center of the facility so all rooms have easy access and it is surrounded by plants and trees which feeds into the old Florida feel. Our room with a king bed had a one unit vintage kitchenette, rm 29, in which we made our pizza dinner. The staff was very kind and friendly. I will recommend to others and I look forward to returning. The double tree across the road has a bar — restaurant and I think it stinks for it's services — check out Winn Dixie for it's pizza!

Although quite dated in the decor, you simply can't beat the location for the price. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Would stay again.

Need better beds but a little facelift & it is an awesome quiet place… not too much parking but you can walk to beach & some awesome shops & restaurants.

If I had the option I would give no stars, this place has to be the worst place I've ever stayed for vacation. I felt like I was in prison, no music aloud, lights out at 9pm and the place was so out dated. I had the cops called on me because I was talking on my balcony at 12am? No visitors aloud which is hilarious because it's not like they are on the beach or anything… it was so horrible I stayed at another hotel down the street and used their pool during the day and literally came to sleep at night … I wouldn't recommend this place to my enemy!

Older hotel but clean. The staff and owners are very friendly and accommodating. They have a great pool, a charcoal smoker, and a propane grill for the guests to use. There are plenty of outside shaded seating areas and lots of sunning lounges at the pool. Easy and close beach access. Great price for rooms with a kitchenette. I for one love this place.

The office has an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke, not a good 1st impression. Out the office door to the pool area — more smoking. The room had a sour unidentifiable smell, the black carpet crunched under foot. Ugh! Bathroom/ shower had old rusted facets that constantly dripped and the bathroom had its own horrible odor. The sliding windows and door would have been no match for anyone who really wanted access. Flimsy key lock on a doorknob that was very loose. I did not feel safe and if I could have found alternate accommodations would have left. This place should be be a tear down. It looked like a homeless shelter. RUN — do not stay here!

Just stayed the weekend with some friends. We very much enjoyed staying here. They were very accommodating, the rooms were nice, and easy beach access and shopping and activities nearby were a huge plus! Will definitely be returning!

The room that was assigned to us was very spacious, with very comfortable beds (2 good pillows on each). I've never had so much space to move around in unless I went to a VERY expensive chain hotel. I would recommend this place if you are looking an affordable place, and who isn't these days.

Loved this place! Cool, retro decor. The proprietor is a doll! Pool is nice and heated. Beach is across the street. Price is very reasonable. I'll definitely be back!

Thought this hotel was great & I would definitely come back! Our room was quite large & comfortable. Maybe slightly dated but I paid $435 for a 5 night stay so can't really complain. The ac worked fine, customer service was excellent & the pool area was nicely decorated & well maintained. Also located in an excellent area near clearwater, tampa & john's pass among others (and across the street from the beach). The only complaint I have is that the beds seem very worn out & weren't the greatest. I've seen mixed reviews regarding this place but my family & I really enjoyed our stay and I would recommend to anyone!

I love this place! I go everytime I can. Cozy, wonderful family owned quiet, kid friendy, adult friendly. Definitely a must.

The place is just as people say, it's older then me mattress are old if you have a bad back don't stay there. The carpets are nasty, the toilets over flow. The furniture may fall apart. The owner is nice untill she gets your cash money, and her husband is very rude. You should save yourself the extra stress and go to the double tree across the street with a lovely beach view for a few more dollars.

The lady who owns the place is bi polar. One minute she's nice the next she's threatening to kick us out because we were having a beer past 9pm at the pool! The beds are about as comfortable as laying on the cardboard out by the dumpster! the place is very dated and after finding out the Doubletree which is beautiful right across the street on the beach was only fifty bucks more I will book there for now on! If you have a bad back DO NOT book here! The lady is only smiling when she is taking your money! Oh. And you better like the smell of weed cause she rents out to a couple beach ppl that never stop smoking weed and the pool area reaks of weed all day n all night! If u stay don't forget your free dirt coffee they offer you. It goes great with your bad back!

I was extremely pleased with this hotel and will definitely return! Island House has a unique vibe, and it's impeccably clean. The first thing that struck me about the room (after its SIZE! Whew! ) was how clean it was — somebody took extra care to clean everything. The carpet was immaculate. The bathroom was spotless and the towels were plentiful and of good quality. The A/C was very powerful, and this room came with a new flat screen T. V. And fully equipped kitchenette. The bed was gigantic and incredibly comfortable, with new "home-quality" sheets and new pillows. Granted, the appliances and furniture are obviously older but very CLEAN. Even down to the little coffee pot, which came with the right filters! Then there's the staff — every staff member I encountered was so friendly and immediately responsive to every request or inquiry. It was just true, old-fashioned hospitality all around from the staff. Our room faced the garden and the pool, which was a very nice aspect of this place. The garden here is lush and colorful, and the pool is large, clean and warm. There was an outdoor gas grill, and plenty of deck seating. I especially loved their outdoor shower — the nozzle poured from the vase of a Greek goddess statue! Best of all, this place is just across the street from one of the cleanest beach spots we saw on the island, and it was not too crowded even for a weekend. The location of this place is superbly convenient.

I enjoyed my stay. The price was right and I don't have any complaints for the 3 nights I was there. It's a nice little hotel right across from the beach. Owned by a small, friendly family and they seem to always be on site which is a plus. They told me about some good spots to eat (which is a must) and things to do at night (went to downtown st pete and Ybor). Didn't get to go in the pool but there were always people swimming during the day. The room was spatious with a fridge, chairs, tv, and I thankfully didn't wake up with any back pains from the mattress. The whole experience was relaxing and convenient. I would stay again if in the area.

Just finishing up our stay here at the Island House Resort! What a WONDERFUL experience we had here. Checking in and out was a breeze first off! Our plane arrived past the check-in time of 9:30 and the staff just gave me a phone call and left our key where we could grab it once we arrived and we then just "checked in" in the AM! The staff also is one of a kind with their friendly and at home like demeanor. The rooms are large and spacious. They also have free Wi-Fi that works great which was a HUGE plus considering I did school work all week on my stay. The atmosphere was very friendly and casual and the pool was wonderful to hangout by during the day and chat with the other guests. OH! and it is literally a walk across the road to the beach! Thank you so much Island House for an amazing visit. I will be returning next year!

Is summer time, in beautiful sunny Florida. I'm pretty sure there is a few hotels which can compete with the rates; BUT … This what it seems to be a family managed establishment, is without doubt a place I and all of my friends and family who are staying here believe to be a hidden treasure. The big rooms and the "home like " atmosphere, are incomparable. As a local, living in beautiful St. Petersburg, not many places catch my attention … until now. Prices are great, accommodations clean and efficient, and the staff; What makes magic happen!. The owners are friendly, and all 13 of us were impressed by the service and hospitality. Without a doubt I would stay here any day paying than in any other hotel in the area for free.

I was recommended this place by a friend and wasn't disappointed! The rooms are very spacious and clean. The scenery by the pool is beautiful and well maintained. They have free Wi-Fi! And it's within walking distance of several restaurants, bars, and a large fishing pier. It honestly feels like a home away from home. I definitely recommend this cozy island getaway.

The plase stinks of pet urin. No Wi-Fi. Spend an extra $10. For a good room so you can enjoy your vacation Thanks.

Furniture was a bit outdated, but rooms were clean. There was an odd odor in our room we couldn't exactly put our finger on it so we purchased an air freshner and it seemed to take care of it. Kitchenette was clean and well stocked. Small fridge. Winn Dixie and Dollar Tree were near by. The grounds were nice. Pool was beautiful and clean. Easy access to beach. Well lit at night. Wonderful for families. We would come back again as we were able to save money for dinner and other activities.

My mom and I researched hotels in that area and found this one to be reasonably priced and a good location. When we got there the first room smelled like cat urine as soon as the door opened, so we asked to be relocated to a different room. That room was old and had a musty smell. Plus there was no internet access in the room. When we went to the front desk to get a refund the clerk said there was no refund. That sealed the deal and we left. I would not recommended this hotel to anyone.

This place is family run and very nice, quiet pool area, well maintained nicely lit at night. Large clean rooms. Durable furniture. Best price we found in the area. We will be going back in two weeks. Nice lighted crosswalk to cross Gulf Blvd. We looked gulf side but are staying here saving the extra money and having a big dinner out.
