Had a great experience at the Elgin! The staff was great, the food was great, and the overall experience was great! Marion is such a nice quiet little town. We had a great time and I'd recommend it to anyone!

My wife and enjoyed two nights at the Elgin. It is a very charming, welcoming venue that is relaxing. Great place to get away and find some peace, quiet and relaxation.

My husband and I stayed here for my birthday and it was wonderful! We were greeted by a friendly employee who made us feel welcome and showed us around. Our room and the entire property was very clean and well maintained. We had dinner by reservation downstairs at Parlour 1886. Again we were greeted by friendly staff. The hostess, server, food and overall experience was great!

Great atmosphere. Food was great. Great period decor. And the bed was super comfortable. Staff were all very nice.

Second trip here. Never disappointed meal was fantastic as was the service. I love finding places like this. 6 stars.

Went for my husband’s birthday and had the best time! Rooms were gorgeous and the entire place was so clean. The owner and staff were so friendly and welcoming. The coffee and breakfast was amazing. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

I had another great stay at the Elgin. From the text letting us know our room was ready and waiting for us, to the kind and helpful staff, to the great breakfast. The rooms, especially the antique beds, are stunning. The kitchenette on the 2nd floor is fully stocked and roomy. I want to come back in warmer weather so I can take advantage of the balcony.

It’s such a lovely place that literally feels like home with the spacious sitting rooms and kitchenette supplied with all we need.

Very comfortable. Rooms are tastefully done. Love the guest kitchen on the second floor. Good place to escape with your favorite book, read one you may find in your room or library in the third floor.

What an enchanting place! This gorgeous 1886 hotel has been exquisitely renovated. So lovely, and so welcoming and comfortable! Treat yourself to a stay there. And DEFINITELY treat yourself to a dinner at the amazing Parlour 1886 restaurant. The food is simply divine. Truly inspired cuisine!

This hotel is a hidden gem! I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the area. The pictures do not do this place justice. Words cannot describe the peaceful feel of this place. It is great for families and the staff is amazing. I just wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you to all involved in the preservation and restoration of this historic place!

Where do I begin? The staff and owners of the Elgin were an absolute delight from start to finish. We booked the entire hotel for our wedding and the majority of it for the night before. Most of our guests were flying in from the coasts, so we wanted to be sure to have a venue where everyone could be together. Everyone who works here genuinely cares for their guests! You could feel the happiness and excitement from them as we were decorating and everyone was willing to help in any way possible! The hotel is a historic masterpiece; stunning attention to detail at every turn. Each room is designed thoughtfully with unique touches that are sure to captivate guests! Our family and friends could not stop raving about the venue and are all planning to return! If you stay in the Amelia Earhart suite, be sure to read through the entries in the journal and add your own! Chef Mike was a delight and his food was delicious, he is sure to put a smile on your face! If you are looking for the best possible wedding venue, you have officially found it. Do not hesitate to book! We will be back as often as we can ❤

The whole hotel has been renovated so great and makes each room have it’s own historical personality. It was a great experience and encourage everyone to go there! You will not be disappointed!

Beautiful, historic, hotel. Gorgeously decorated. If you want to treat your lady to a special place take her to Elgin. Rooms are spectacular, comfortable, and quiet. Breakfast is way more fancy than I am used too. It was very good. Our attractive hostess was very friendly and fun to visit with. She encouraged us to look around even after giving us a tour and history lesson.

The Elgin is a beautifully refurbished hotel that takes you back in time. Beautiful antique furniture in every room completes the ambiance! I highly encourage everyone to visit!

The Elgin is, by far, my favorite stay away from home. Historic Charm, check. Hospitality, double check check. Food, made from the kitchen of angels. The place itself was enough to win me over but the ladies there (Rebecca and Tammy) during my stay made it wonderful. Would absolutely stay here again. Actually, it will be the only place I stay :)

I have stayed in many B&Bs, including one that is rated in the top 20 internationally, and I must say the Elgin out ranks them all. From the enormous whirpool and separate shower, the comfy bed with luxurious bedding, to the wonderful staff and yummy breakfast you'd be hard pressed to find a better place to stay. Marion is a little off the beaten path but we found lots to do with the time we had before the Symphony in the Flint Hills. Can't wait to go back.

A few weeks ago we had a major sewer problem at our home. We decided to book a room at the Elgin for the night. What a delightful experience. The beds were so comfortable and made for a great night, the deep tub made for a wonder bubble bath, and I can't rave enough on our breakfast it was delicious. What a gem we have in Marion, Kansas. Thankyou Tammy for making this happen.

My husband and I just had our wedding at The Elgin on April 14th, 2018. I wanted to clear up a review that was put on here by a family member. She rated the place a 1/5, and I believe this to be unfair. Here is the backstory. I rented out the hotel-all twelve rooms for two nights. Friday and Saturday. (Which, by the way are GORGEOUS and CLEAN) With that, I also rented out the Ballroom and the Courtyard JUST for Saturday. BUT, Madison… being the AWESOME hotel manager she is, said that I could have use of the Ballroom on Friday to decorate if I made the deal that on Sunday after all the wedding stuff was over, that as soon as my guests were ready, to let them clean out to get ready for another activity/booking they had on Sunday. Sweet, right? No problem I said! They cooked us wonderful breakfast that morning and I let everyone know that when they were ready to start heading out. There was NOT ONE PERSON who came to me to tell me they had an issue with this. Not one. But, if they HAD… I know that Madison or myself would have done whatever possible to keep that person comfortable and happy. Also, everyone was helping take out trash and cleaning up stuff… not because we were asked to, but because we wanted to treat the staff with the respect and helpfulness that THEY were showing us. SO, other than the preference of beds, the review was a bit misconstrued. I hope I cleared the air there. Madison was amazing. Simply amazing. If you are doubting the place, don't.

My husband and I just had our wedding here over the weekend. I cannot stress enough how insanely gorgeous, affordable, accommodating and kind this place was. Madison felt like family the way she looked after me even when I was running around crazy & a mess. She even saved my whole day when the groom's tie was lost by calling her husband to bring one for him to borrow. There was a million little things that weren't working for me, but the venue and who runs it was not one of them. We are so incredibly greatful and blessed to have everything they provided. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

My family stayed at the Elgin Hotel this past weekend we rented 3 rooms on the upper level. The staff was helpful, rooms clean. However, I had some major issues with the place. First, some of the TV'S did not work, the beds were antique and pretty but every time you turned over or moved they squeaked terribly. Secondly, Sunday right after breakfast at 9 am we were told we needed to vacate our rooms ASAP because new guests were coming and needed the rooms. Staff started to vacuum before we even had our personal items packed. They also asked us if we would empty our room trash cans and put trash in hallway. I was upset to say the least. If I pay for a room until 12 noon I should be able to stay in it till then. Needless to say we won't be going back!

What a gorgeous place, filled with beauty. Had a wonderful time at the Valentine's Banquet over the weekend and watched total strangers interact as if they we dear friends. What a place of Joy. Fabulous room and then an amazing breakfast was icing in the cake. Wonderful staff, teriffic owners. Don't miss out on making a great memory. Go stay at the Beautiful Elgin Hotel in Marion, KS.

Terrific place to stay. The whole place is beautiful. We stayed in room 312 and it was fabulous. The breakfast was wonderful. Owner and manager were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
