Review of Historic Elgin Hotel 2*

My husband and I just had our wedding at The Elgin on April 14th, 2018. I wanted to clear up a review that was put on here by a family member. She rated the place a 1/5, and I believe this to be unfair. Here is the backstory. I rented out the hotel-all twelve rooms for two nights. Friday and Saturday. (Which, by the way are GORGEOUS and CLEAN) With that, I also rented out the Ballroom and the Courtyard JUST for Saturday. BUT, Madison… being the AWESOME hotel manager she is, said that I could have use of the Ballroom on Friday to decorate if I made the deal that on Sunday after all the wedding stuff was over, that as soon as my guests were ready, to let them clean out to get ready for another activity/booking they had on Sunday. Sweet, right? No problem I said! They cooked us wonderful breakfast that morning and I let everyone know that when they were ready to start heading out. There was NOT ONE PERSON who came to me to tell me they had an issue with this. Not one. But, if they HAD… I know that Madison or myself would have done whatever possible to keep that person comfortable and happy. Also, everyone was helping take out trash and cleaning up stuff… not because we were asked to, but because we wanted to treat the staff with the respect and helpfulness that THEY were showing us. SO, other than the preference of beds, the review was a bit misconstrued. I hope I cleared the air there. Madison was amazing. Simply amazing. If you are doubting the place, don't. It is great for a weekend getaway, a wedding, or a one night stop.
