Friendly staff, super clean, convenient, quite place to have a vacation!

Great location for visiting CB.

5 Stars! We LOVE Elk Mountain Lodge! The staff is always helpful and kind, the breakfasts are spectacular, the beds are the best we've slept in away from home. The rooms are impeccably clean. There are common areas, one with a fireplace and grand piano and another tucked away in a jungle of tropical plants with comfy chairs for reading or television viewing. Combined with the building's rich history, it's the perfect bed and breakfast!

Comfy, cozy, friendly! Excellent, homemade breakfast after a very comfortable sleep made for a great start to the day. Loved the common areas and visiting with other guests. An evening on the front porch shouldn’t be missed. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Been staying at Elk Mountain Lodge for many years. I always enjoy my favorite balcony room which is cozy and has a great view of Mt. Crested Butte! Friendly, yet professional and accommodating staff. Lots of special touches, shady front deck and hot tub, town bikes, full bar and inviting sitting area. Close to main historic town and restaurants/shops. All my friends stay here too!

This is the sweetest bed and breakfast. It's so homey and clean the service is excellent. Breakfast is delicious and was delightful to wake up to. Highly recommend staying here if you're in the area!

We had a great stay at Elk Mountain Lodge! Very cozy and inviting inside… love the decor and all the plants. Friendly and welcoming staff; we appreciated the afternoon cookies, tea, and conversation. The secured bike room and outside bike wash station also made things easy. Hot tub was amazing (it's always nice when they are functional)! Excellent location, close to everything. We will absolutely be back.

My wife and I arrived for a wedding weekend with one hour to get ready. We hurried to check in, and were first told no check-in until 3. We weren’t offered a place to change clothes or anything. Then, the desk clerk went into the system and said we had no reservation and they were sold out. I showed my prepaid confirmation email and then she went in the back to call the owner. I had to quickly book a different place on my phone, received no word from the owner, and was simply told it was a system glitch with online booking. Update: owner did call to apologize next day. He was very gracious and offered a comped room. Great service.

This is one of my favorite hotels I've ever stayed at. My girlfriend and I came for Memorial Day weekend and were incredibly pleased with the friendly, super-helpful staff, amenities (the indoor hot tub is great, it feels like you're in a spa), and classic charm. The location can't be beat either. Once we parked our car when we arrived, we didn't need it the rest of the weekend. Walking distance to everywhere in town and to several trailheads for hiking. The breakfast each day was delicious (super-fresh fruit, yogurt, bread/bagels with homemade jams, granola, and rotating items like eggs, pancakes, potatoes etc. That they cook on site) and absolutely worth waking up early for! All-in-all I can't imagine staying anywhere else next time we go to Crested Butte!

We apologize about Mr. Bayster Robinsons review. He's my old crazy uncle that gets confused. We definitely stayed at a different Elk Mnt Lodge. Yours look supernice and if I could take it all back, I would stayed at your place. Prob left my wild uncle at home. Sorry again, Bill.

Loved it. Quaint. Homey. Wonderful breakfast!

Very disappointed in this run down so called Lodge. A terrible bed, wires hanging out of the wall in areas and a breakfast that consisted of some hard boiled eggs, I don't know how people can make good comments about breakfast unless they are fake reviews. We learned our lesson at least, never again.

Clean. Great views of the mountain. Great breakfast.

Great location, friendly staff, one of the more comfortable hotels in town. Breakfast is made fresh in the morning. On the down side, the walls are thin so you might hear your neighbors.

This is my favorite place in town to stay. The staff is friendly, the breakfast is fresh & the hot tub is hot. The only downside is the walls are paper thin. Thin enough to hear the guy nextdoor snoring.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff, in particular Mark, were absolutely top notch and such nice people. The breakfast was always very good and we loved all of the amenities this lodge had to offer. When we visit again, we will definitely be staying here again.

Extremely friendly staff, comfortable common rooms, cosy rooms, delicious breakfast and and a hot tub. You can't ask for more than that.

The Elk Mountain Lodge is a wonderful place to stay if you find yourself in the Crested Butte area. It's location, mere blocks from the historic downtown area, is ideal for exploring Crested Butte's restaurants and coffee shops. The hotel itself definitely retains the historic feel, while still having comfortable beds and clean rooms. The staff were also extraordinarily helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Would definitely stay again!

Room had an excellent view, location is excellent, service is above and beyond. Loved it!

Very nice hotel that doesn't break the budget. It's only 2 blocks from the bus route and a lot of good restaurants. Always good when it's pet friendly as well.

I stayed in room 10 and had the worst bed I've ever slept in away from home. The people here are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice and the lodge as a whole is well maintained. If not for the bed issue it would have been a great stay.

Great place to stay in town — great breakfast, friendly staff. We took two trips to CB this winter and stayed here on both occasions. Alec at the front desk is awesome. He even helped me find my keys when I dropped them in 3 ft of snow!

Absolutely fantastic. Renovated in perfectly done to match the original. Fits the Crested Butte vibe. Food terrific and very friendly. Would stay here every time am in Crested Butte. Only thought is my mattress could have been better. But didn't impact my stay.

We travel a lot and this exceeded our expectations. Stayed at EML with my husband for 3 nights. The lodge is delightful and charming with lots of character. It is up to date and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The shuttles to the ski area are very convenient every 15 minutes. The main street with all the restaurants is only a 2 block walk. The breakfast is very good. We think this was a good value and will come back again the next time we are in Crested Butte.

Wonderful, clean, cozy mountain lodge. We felt so welcome, warm, and comfortable. The common areas are amazing places to relax and read or play games.

This place was excellent in all aspects. The staff are friendly, wonderful and accommodating. The rooms are large and well kept. The bar is a cool place to hang out after a long day of skiing. I would definitely stay here again.

Had a great 4-day weekend at the lodge. The lodge was large enough that I felt like I had privacy, and that was definitely the case in our top-floor Boyd room (). Breakfast was simple and satisfying. Only a couple of blocks from Elk Street, so the location was convenient. I would happily return to the Elk Mountain Lodge the next time I'm in CB.

I highly recommend this place. The owner and employees are accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was excellent each morning. The hot tub was great after skiing. The hotel is a short walk from anywhere you'd want to go in Crested Butte. Great bang for the buck.

This place is totally awesome, the owner is a super nice guy. Everything about the place was perfect. The atmosphere, the hot tub, the breakfast (fruits, yogurt, granola, fancy tea, ect), even the pillows are nicer than the ones you have at home. You will not be disappointed.

Great place, will definitely be coming back. The staff was friendly, good breakfast in the morning and good rooms. Location is also perfect, be sure to hit up Montanya's on Elk Ave. For some Maharajah cocktails. The lodge is maybe a little on the pricey side, but for a relaxing weekend it was well worth it.

My husband and I spent our mini honeymoon in Crested Butte and chose the Elk Mountain Lodge based on a recommendation from our waitress at The Steep. It was the perfect spot for us! Just a couple blocks from the main downtown area, we took advantage of the free cruiser bikes parked outside the lodge and rode everywhere we wanted to go. Mike, the owner, was super friendly and helped us pick a mountain bike ride to do that was close to town (and also informed us of rides we had never heard of! ). Brian and Haley at the front desk were awesome. Positive, friendly, and always helpful. Our room was simple but clean and cozy with a great view of Mt. Crested Butte. Breakfast was yummy, and they always had hot water available for a warm cup of tea. We highly recommend it and will be back to stay again soon.

We wanted to hike the West Maroon Hiking Trail from Crested Butte to Aspen in July 2013. Stayed at Elk Mountain Lodge for 3 nights and we loved it! Very friendly and helpful staff. The place is super clean and totally environment friendly. They use the best soap I have ever used in a hotel! Also as I mentioned earlier the whole place is really clean and nice. Small game room (Clue, cards, chess and. ) if you are up for some games. Laundry room (at extra cost) and free Wireless internet inside the hotel. They have some bikes your can borrow (no charge) to see the city. They also offer a decent daily breakfast (Complimentary). Overall, I strongly recommend the place and I will stay there again for sure.

Plenty of comfort, friendly and very helpful staff, good breakfast, and just the right distance from everything; a 2 block walk to main street. It was always a wonderful feeling, at the end of a rigorous day, to come home to the Lodge. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing, well-tended. This is the place that best complements any stay at Crested Butte. We stayed 7 days in August 2012.

The location couldn't be more ideal, just 2 blocks off Elk Avenue to stroll the streets, grab the bus stop and head up to Mt. Crested Butte, or pop on your cross-country skis right out the front door and hit the loops near Peanut Lake. The staff was great, breakfast was great, the little bar is ideal and the seating area downstairs is a great place to just relax, have a beverage, and chat with friends old and new. The rooms aren't fancy, but that's why we love CB… just a good comfortable place to be. See you guys in February!
