One of the nicest places I have been to in California. There is peace at Lions Gate.

Great food, cold beer and good company!

The worst hotel and staff I've ever seen.

Rude staff residents mostly have CORONA virus. FOOD HERE IS VERY PLAN not good place for family.

Highly appalled that they didn’t advertise breakfast times and they closed the free breakfast at 930 am. But positives room was super clean and comfortable beds.

The music was on point we stayed on the dance floor, the bartender Charles was great! We have plans to go back Next Saturday.

Best check in experience, my friend and I checked in with her reservation there was a line but it went so fast only one person behind the desk, she did very well. Feels good to walk in and be acknowledge even when she had so much in front of her, we been to many hotels this one felt like home rooms was very classy! kudos to Mia at the front desk you worked so well under pressure! We will definitely return.

I checked out this morning 8/1/2018 I literally sang my way out. I have never stayed in such a beautiful room I can’t tell you enough how BEAUTIFUL it was! The front desk with the pretty curly long hair was super sweet soft spoken and very professional (thank you Mina) I for sure RECOMMEND this place I’ll be back! Thank you, Best SLEEP I had in years:)

Situated on the now closed McClellan AFB, I being retired USAF found this hotel to be very reminiscent of my days in the service. I felt the same home yet military presence. The hotel is the converted officers quarters and BOQ. The rooms have been very well renovated, roomy, and comfortable. Very quiet and private. The grounds are very well kept and yes private too. The buildings form a horseshoe shape with the office and restaurant at the opening. Inside the courtyard you don't even realize that the area surrounding it is office and industrial conversions of the old base. The entire base is located in some of the older section of Sacramento. Yet the freeway is very easy to access and once in the compound like area your are very secure. I strongly recommend this hotel for travelers that are retired from the military because this hotel has that "flavor".

This is a pretty nice place to stay. The rooms are trendy, clean, and cozy. The staff is fairly helpful, but they don't tell you about any of the perks like when happy hour is so I didn't even know they had a happy hour or when salsa dancing might be happening. So if you stay, be sure to ask specifically if there are events going on Etc to get the most out of your stay. Since it is located on an old base there isn't a lot of shopping in the area that you can do unless you have your military ID for the commissary and exchange. However it's not too far from places like Ross, Cost Plus, and fast food restaurants. They do not offer shuttle service to the airport so I recommend using Super Shuttle because it was cheaper than taxis in the area. If you are disabled or have issues walking, do note that the rooms are separate in a little distance from the hotel front office and the restaurant. — it's not bad, just something to note in case you need to specify a room closer distance. There is a complimentary breakfast but it is only cold stuff and there are no gluten free options. You have to pay additional for eggs and potatoes.

I thought the room I had was exceptional. Obviously remodeled since I was here last. The only critique I would have is that a couple of the drawers were pulled out too far and off the track — I pulled out the bathroom top drawer and did the same. Beds, desk, furnishings — all top notch. Even with the 100 degree weather outside, the inside was not more than 75 degrees, and usually a few lower, even without the air conditioner turned on. Out of the hundreds of places I have stayed at over the past 50 years plus, this is one of the best.

I was there for a business event. The place is nice and the staff were very accommodating. The event was a success in large part because the hosts and the facility were great. Would definitely come back.

Absolutely horrible experience. After booking through Hotel Tonight, I called to request a room with two beds. They didn’t have any left but the front desk offered us a free upgrade to a suite. Upon arrival, not only did they not have the suite we were promised, but we had a teeny tiny little room with a bathroom door that wouldn’t close. The front desk offered to bring us a cot, but after being in the room for two hours we were without a cot, or a solution for the bathroom door. After three unsuccessful calls to the front desk to resolve the issue, all of a sudden they had a “cancellation” at 11:30 at night, and moved us into a nice room. The next morning, at 11:45, I called the front desk and politely asked if we could check out at one, since check out time was at noon. The front desk told me that checkout time is at 11 AM, (Hotel Tonight app says noon) but they would give us until noon. At 11:50 AM, A maintenance worker was knocking on her door and said “the front office told me to come up and ask you guys to leave“. This is pretty shocking and offensive because first of all we had a rough night because of the Lions gate hotel failing to help out a guest with simple needs, and then basically harassing us (before check out time) check out time and asking us to leave. We are two fairly simple women with basic needs, were already planned on leaving at noon. If this is how they treat all the guests this place should be shut down or hire new management.

Room was unimpressive and did not match hotel promotional pictures. Weird smells in hallway. Front desk was misleading when I made the reservation which caused some billing problems on a corporate account. Breakfast was highly limited and the two hot choices required an extra charge.

My visit here consisted of bloody marys at the bar. The drinks were well made/flavorful. The bar keep (Danny) was friendly and attentive.

Bed is NOT a queen, … Full size only. No elevators to second floor… Be prepared to carry luggage up stairs. Converted air Force barracks. Comfortable bed and quiet location, but definitely no frills.

The staff were extremely courteous and accommodating. My room was clean with all the amenities and then some. I can't wait until my next stay.

We were in Club Room B for a retirement party. The ambiance was fabulous. The food was delicious. And the wait staff were friendly, and efficient. It was an enjoyable night.

Was just bought out by new owners. The free breakfast now is only cold stuff, and not much of it. You can upgrade for $5 for eggs, sausage and cheap bacon. No more free beer at happy hour either. Rooms are old officers barracks. There was duck tape holding the carpet down in ours in some places. Courteous staff.

Loved the interior design of our room, very glitzy yet modern and comfy. And we also appreciated that our room was accessible from the street and that we were able to park right in front of it, and since my dude is a smoker he could just walk out to the street and smoke and come right back in. I also loved love shower in the bathroom, nice size for two! We didn't expect a kitchenette which was nice to have if we needed it. The receptionist Maria was very nice and helped me with cab service no problem. It was affordable and the in perfect area for our quick visit. I would definitely come again!

Spent two nights at the Lions Gate for a company function and am not impressed. I felt check in started my bad experience, as the girl working behind the counter was way less than friendly. I had just driven 7 hours, and arrived around 9pm, tired and ready to check in and get some rest. When I presented my drivers license, the girl demanded another picture I'd, because the label on my ID is wearing off. When she asked why it had a label on it, I explained that in Oregon when you move, the DMV just sends you a new label to attach to your license. This has never come up as an issue in the 20 plus hotels I have stayed in during the last year, and I wasn't happy about dealing with it now. Then the girl informs me there was an "issue" with the payment for my room that was supposed to be already paid for, along with the rest of the employees attending the conference, and that I would have to pay for my room myself. I found out out the next day, another co-worker tried to check-in earlier and was told his reservation was cancelled, because they said he was supposed to arrive a day earlier. My co-worker actually told them what they could do with their room, and went to another hotel. When I finally got to my room, let's just say I was less than impressed. It looks like they have made some updates, but this is a very old property. The next morning, at exactly 7 am, contractors in the room next door, started hammering and pounding, probably doing more renevations.

It's kind of hard to find the bathrooms Oh conference area. The hotel looks good and is clean.

I recommend the hotel to stay.

Lions Gate Hotel is an all around amazing, beautiful place with a wonderful staff. Everyone always greets you as you walk in, And the bartenders are amazing there. They have wonderful food and a beautiful restraunt. I Have been going there since I was younger and had never been disappointed with the food or service. The staff goes above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable and happy. Definitely have some good, hard workers there. I let everyone know about lions gate and if they are ever in town to stop by. And I will continue doing so.

The Lions Gate is an enjoyable place to hang out and be with friends. Great service, music and great food! I will always keep coming back!

Good hotel. Ok service. Nothing bad but not super good. That's why 4 stars.

Bizarre complex with barracks-style housing. Filthy, worn carpets and old appliances in room: odd for a supposed "new" facility. Breakfast staff was rude, especially after informing us that it costs money for hot food at the "free" breakfast. Pool area is nice, but unusable, as it abuts the area where they have formal outdoor events. Surrounding city area is a dump. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights an excellent place, the room very clean, staff very friendly everything was perfect. Javon, shampoo, and conditioner of the best and the suite 5122 very wide and very comfortable.
