Really loving the new look. Good job Remodeling it looks very nice classy, Beautiful, Regal.

Expected more even if hotel is being renovated; staff was courteous; room was spacious; great location with lots of choices for dining Room was dated; mold on caulking in bathroom; recommend better faucet and shower heads with balanced pressure; seemed short-staffed to check in/out; Wi-Fi was intermittent and spotty for the cost.

Very beautiful hotel rooms, however; the lighting in the vanity area was very dark, I could see to get my self ready, needs brighter lighting.

The entire staff at the Fountain restaurant makes our Saturday brunch an amazing experience. The friendly Hostess, the talented Chef, the amazing wait staff and the very welcoming manager all go out of their way to make our Saturday Brunch my favorite day of the week.

Great San Jose location. Our family needed to get away from our foggy location over the labor day weekend, knowing the Fairmont had a terrific pool and bar and food service, it was a no brainer. Rooms are quite large, 450sq. Ft. I prefer the main building it is closer to the lounge, restaurants and pool. The only disappointment was the Sunday brunch. At $40, which is not very expensive these days, it was a bit weak, but go down and it give it a look. Room service was outstanding, we ordered twice and it was delivered as promised, and food was quite good and hot. It is a quick walk to the convention center, about two city blocks.

The hotel was really nice, seemed like either the hotel was recently rennovated, or they just keep everything well maintained. The room was clean, especially the bathroom, which I usually expect will be slightly gross, but this one felt really clean. The pool looked nice, but there was no jacuzzi, and the workout room was really nice, with the bathrooms having a wet and dry sauna inside. Overall I highly recommend the hotel!

Really nice hotel, but service wasn't quite the level I would expect for a hotel of this caliber. Items in the room were understocked and not always replaced. Room itself was spacious and well appointed. TV smaller than expected. Appreciated 24 hour room service. Location on Market St downtown close to everything including Convention Center and theaters.

Top notch service — I got upgraded to a suite which was a really nice surprise and the rooms are very fresh and clean — breakfast was very good — it’s my go-to choice when I am up there for business.

I am currently staying Thursday-Sunday at the Fairmont, San Jose. I have stayed at the Fairmont for our conference for approximately the past 6-7 years. They are AWESOME! Their staff is always first rate! Always professional, helpful and friendly! The Hotel structure is if the utmost highest quality. There is nothing I don’t like about this hotel and can not think of a single thing that they could improve. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel with a bit of a throw back feel in starnge places. For example, there is a phone in my toilet room. I say toilet room because it is separate from the bathroom. A nice addition for taking care of business. The lobby floor has a nice big open bar area where there is a lot of mingling and conversation. It helps the whole place feel pretty energized when there is a conference in town.

Last minute decision to escape the heat and have a quick staycation by the pool. The Fairmont pool area is beautiful with bar and food service on site. Great service. Gorgeous pool and a fantastic room close to the pool. Wonderfully comfortable bed and room service was prompt, elegant and delicious.
One suggestion — as SanJose’s Premier luxury and business hotel, Wi-Fi should be a given. Don’t charge for something that represents San Jose.

Excellent rooms and atmosphere. Customer service was 5 at times and 2-3 at times. I ordered slippers from royal service to go to the pool and it took them 1 hour to deliver them. I ordered a hotdog for daughter at pool and it took 45 minutes and then came with no ketchup and when asked took 15 minutes and I finally went to the bartenders and got it myself. The other service around the hotel and restaurants was 5 star but two areas needed vast improvement.

At the Fairmont for two nights and 3 days for a business training conference. At first I was a little upset bc their was no free Wi-Fi, it was accessible but for a fee. Nonetheless, the good outweighed the bad. I was so comfortable in my room and exhausted from my flight in, I had no energy to leave my room. I called for room service (very fast with delivery promise times and classy and professional), ordered two nights in a row. The showers, ie… the pressure is to die for. The health club is clean, all the equipment works and are in good condition (they have charging stations and touch screens for tv, radio and internet options, water, apples, towels and newly sealed ear buds for your convenience). Lastly, all of my hotel correspondences were via text, this was an option offered during check in (loved it, available 24 hours/day), didn't have to pick up the phone. I highly recommend, and can't wait to return next year for our business conference in San Jose!

What an amazing getaway!
We were traveling from Oakland to attend a concert at the SAP center on Saturday night. They were able to accommodate our early check-in request. When we arrived we were met by such warm and welcoming smiles and service. From valet to front desk staff to concierge, it seemed that each staff person had our happiness as their goal. We took full advantage of early check-in and spent a few luxurious hours poolside with a chilled adult beverage (or two! ). With dinner reservations in hand (compliments of the concierge) we enjoyed a fabulous meal before the concert. Settling in at the end of the night with a nightcap and the glorious bedding ensured a good nights sleep. The next morning the room service order we placed via our door handle the night before arrived precisely on time wth yet another smiling staffer delivering. And then there the toiletries! Seriously, how often have you heard a RAVE review about the toiletries? The Rose 31 products make a shower feel like a spa treatment! For a simple overnight getaway, Fairmont San Jose delivers quality service and luxurious accommodations!

There's really no question that this is the best hotel in San Jose. The rooms are spacious and elegant. It's definitely worth paying to get a room on a higher floor to enjoy the views. The location is ideal for walking around downtown. Staff is also very friendly and helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable experience!

My parents came to visit me this weekend and I wanted to find a nice hotel that was close enough to my place in San Jose but with a nice walking neighborhood. I landed on Hotel Normandie and I'm so glad we did! The hotel is really beautiful. We enjoyed the complimentary wine hour, the coy pond and the working vintage type writer. The front desk and valet staff was very friendly and patient with my parents. Thank you!

Went here to grab drinks with a co-worker who was staying here and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was incredible and very attentive to us. For the ambiance the price was really good. Excellent place to have professional engagements.

This hotel was nice, but extremely expensive. In my personal opinion, the price was not justifiable; I've stayed at much nicer hotels than this for half the price. As someone who was staying at this location for a week, the fact that no mini fridge was in my room, was also a big disappointment. I did enjoy that the pool was directly accessible outside of my room on the 4th floor. This gave me a private entrance to and from the pool, directly to my room. The fitness room was very well equipped, but the treadmills were old and the interfaces that they use were very unresponsive most of the time.

Occasionally come here to eat. Mostly at the Grill (with outdoor seating), or sometimes the Fountain Restaurant or Lobby Lounge. All are great options. If its nice out the Grill is the way to go, for a more formal meal hit the restaurant, or for a quick bite and drink when its cold outside the lounge is perfect. They also offer a huge all you can eat spread on weekend mornings in a separate dining area just off the lounge. For holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Mother's Day, etc. ) they accept reservations and open up one of the conference rooms on the second floor. A bit pricey, but worth every penny. All you can eat food for adults and kids, piano player, and children's entertainers.

Went there on a business trip. The lobby looks great. I was impressed, clean and very welcoming. But when I got to my room I was disappointed. I stayed at $70 a night hotels that looked better than the room I had. The wallpaper was dated and the lack of a refrigerator and microwave for how much you will pay a night was also a let down. I have stayed at other hotels who have those things and it was a nicer and cheaper hotel.

One of my "All Time Favorites. " The Fairmont San Jose restored my confidence in myself as well as my high expectations of service in the Bay area. Personnel greeted my Gal and I with high respect and courtesy, that which cannot be matched. This applies to every level of personnel we encountered during our 5 night stay. The skyline views of downtown SJ are awesome, especially in the evening from my 20th fl rm. My bed was simply, Hands Down, the most comfortable sleeping experiences of mine to date. Dining, shopping, casual eating and exploring. I had an Awesome time at the Fairmont…

Visiting for a professional conference and was greeted by courteous and helpful staff. The accommodations (meeting rooms and ball rooms) were well taken care off and comfortable. The staff was responsive to temperature needs. The food was good buffet food and everything was taken care is professionally.

What a wonderful place, I am here about once or twice a year, with large crowds. Even though we tend to take over things the staff always humor us and treat us with the utmost respect. Food is delicious each and every time. Rooms are spotless, and super comfortable. I recommend this place for any and all occasions.

The place is very clean. This is definitely one of the nicer hotels. Of course you pay extra for this type of hotel. Majority of the staff that I interacted with was friendly and very helpful. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and super spacious. The hotel also has a gym and pool. I want to say the pool was heated as it was perfect to get into at night. Only issue I had was with the thermometer in the room. I like my room a little on the colder side and for some reason it didn't matter how low I placed the temperature the room never really cooled down. Overall it's a good place to stay at if you can afford to stay.

Fairmont San Jose is a pretty fancy hotel with very friendly service. Each staff member I interacted with was very friendly and welcoming. The room itself was very nice except for the hair we found in our sheets. The location is right between the art museum and technology museum so there is fun things that are walkable.

Location is great. The rooms are well sized with a nice chair in them. I always hate sitting in bed to watch TV or using the office chair, so I think this is a nice feature. The bathrooms also have plenty of room with a separate shower and bath tub. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and helpful… a great group. The only bad thing I have to say really is that they need better door closure controls. The doors on the rooms slam shut so as your neighbors go in and out, you will hear them. Other than that everything else is five star all the way.

Great experience overall, but had a few issues. Lobby area had trash on the floor and on tables. No trash receptacles, so people just left their trash wherever. A guest left a used towel on a table near the elevator that remained there for at least 4 hours. I brought these issues, and barking dog issue (late at night) to the staff, and they graciously apologized, and gave me credit at the restaurant. Beautiful location, with a variety of restaurants nearby. Nearby park was a great way to enjoy the amazing San Jose weather.

Posh hotel in central location. It's Dec 17 and there is a huge Christmas fair out front. Very festive and cool. Lobby has gingerbread houses and lounge is packed and lively. The in-hotel Fountain restaurant is excellent and room service is fine. Had the wedge salad, which was tasty and filling. Many spots nearby for dining too.

Fairmont hotel is a wonderful experience. While we went for a work conference, and it is set up Very well for work conferences, the attention to detail by the staff was wonderful, the extra amenities of the hotel (spa, pool, workout room, restaurants, bar) make this a great location. This doesn't even speak to it location in the heart of San Jose, allowing access to so many restaurants and sites to see. The beds are comfortable, the restrooms are clean, and the water pressure in the show are to die for. Don't like a shower? They have a bathtub in your room also for a soak. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for great service and great location rolled into one.

Everything about our stay at the San Jose Fairmont was perfect. From the professional staff (Anya) that helped us with an early check in and followed up with messages on room readiness to the prompt response for any in-room need. We stayed in the new tower, the suite was spacious and had a great view. We had a terrific experience and we are looking forward to our next stay at this hotel.

Arrived during Christmas In The Park. What a great surprise. The valet had everything under control despite the crowd. The check in was very fast. Everyone has been so helpful and full of holiday cheer. The room is awesome. Poolside with a private patio. Bedroom views all the park activities. Beautiful. Thank you to the staff. You are really great at what you do.

From the minute we walked pulled up to the valet, to the front desk, to the guy holding the door to go up to the room everyone one if the staff was friendly and truly excited to see us. I have never met anyone who liked his job as much as Wilburt at the front desk, you could tell from the way he treated me and my girlfriend that he cared not only about us, but people in general. He is definitely in the right line of work. The rooms were very nice, large and comfortable. Showers were an A+. We didn't get to eat at the hotel but if they are even half as nice as the hotel I'm sure they will be delicious.

For an event this place is fine. The food presents itself well and is rich! The workers are in a hurry to take care of the people. I never missed anything at dinner.

The location was PERFECT for the marathon, being directly across from the finish line. The text concierge was helpful. HOWEVER, there were little dead bugs around the toilet and under the sink upon check in. The next day after receiving housekeeping service, there were still little dead bugs in the bathroom.

Really nice hotel in an up and coming part of San Jose. Lots of great places to eat and drink. Rooms are nice and clean. Front desk service is great. Motor lobby for picking up valet vehicles is nice. That being said, the traffic is terrible. If you are visiting anywhere other than downtown SJ it will be tough.

Definitely paid for the location. The hotel is central to everything downtown SJ, but the hotel itself (amenities, services) is mediocre. The font desk person who checked me in (Brenda) could use more raining in customer service and be more welcoming. Having no complimentary Wi-Fi is unacceptable these days. Room service is is total rip off ($5 in room delivery fee + 22% service charge). But I'd like to give credit to housekeeping staff and the cleanliness of the hotel.

Location is great. Rooms are a decent size, but queen bed (not a king). Sink drained really slow and shower hot water takes a minute. There was a stain on a towel which was kinda gross. Otherwise staff is nice.

Central to the downtown, walking distance to many excellent restaurants and bars, the San Jose Fairmont is a good choice for business travellers and families alike. Amenities include an outdoor pool. Rooms are generous in size and well appointed with nice quality bed linens. Proximity to the SJC airport may be problematic for some as you can hear the flights overhead throughout the day.

Pool closes very early for a typical hotel. The rooms are really nice and accommodate a roll away bed. Bathroom is split which is amazing. Shower and bath tub are split so kids can bathe separately. Toilet is secluded! Ice machines are hidden on the floors. Took four people to locate. The front desk gentlemen we not very knowledgeable. Food is outrageously priced as well as the gift shop, but hey they can get away with it I guess. Within walking distance from Safeway and Johnny Rockets, which is also over priced. Pool is nice, but cooooold!

However, we did have to wait for 4 hours past our check-in time to get the room due to it not being ready. Climate control in the room also struggled to be effective, even at night when cooling should be easier.

Do not stay here if you desire a restful night. It is 1AM and the second time I have called the front desk due to noise. Their first response was helpful in that the noise coming from an adjacent room quieted. At this hour, though, it has increased again and is joined by noise from outside (coming from the Four Points hotel next door) and music (with a good deal of bass) coming from someplace unbeknownst to me. This is unacceptable, particularly for a The Fairmont brand. I will not stay here again and suggest another hotel for those desiring a good night's sleep.

I've been to this beautiful Downtown San Jose landmark many times over the years and for a variety of reasons. The last event I attended was a huge wedding reception with a live band (I was their soundman) that I was part of. The Fairmont staff took great care of us. They setup a nice room for band & crew behind the stage that had all the nice attributes and great service that I've come to expect from this top-notch hotel.

The room was magnificent. Quick and easy check-in/check out procedures. The downtown San Jose location is great. It's also close to a large number of restaurants and cafes, so grabbing a quick bite is never an issue. Just don't touch any beverages or food in the room, unless you want to drink/eat them.

Great downtown location near tons of dinning and night life options. The hotel it's self it's well maintained and has many friendly and helpful staff. My room left some to be desired. The shower seemed out dated, more like a gym shower than a luxury hotel shower. When I tried to watch some TV it did not work and upon inspection I found that the cable had been unplugged. Overall I found the hotel very enjoyable.

Went in for drinks at the bar. The facilities were clean and everything was welcoming. Loved the bar, it was a really relaxed environment and staff were friendly. Would definitely go again.

Unfairly relocated our booking in a very short notice. We booked the room for a conference two months in advance. Then, three days before the check in, the hotel sent us an EMAIL, where they could have called, saying our first two days were relocated to another hotel far away from the convention center and gave a reason that it is because an increased number of the conference attendees (where they contradicted themselves later. ) We tried to call the hotel and to talk to the person in charge who sent us the email. We failed regardless of how many times we call. We then wrote an email reply as the first email suggested that we could contact the person if we have any concerns. No one ever replied, and this was two days before we had to depart to the hotel. The compensation offered in the email were $50 credit for food and transportation cost. But the point is we wanted this hotel since is close to the convention center and we then booked it months in advance to avoid this kind of hassle. We finally was able to talk to another person who we thought had some authority in order to reinstate our original booking and our trust in the deal we have made with the hotel. But it did not work, but we heard of another reason that is NOT the same as the reason provided by the email. Basically, we were LIED. The person said the city was having a big event and the hotel was overbooked SEVERAL MONTHS BEFORE WE BOOKED. But if so, shouldn't our booking have failed in the first place?

This place was a lot bigger than I expected it to be. Despite only visiting, the staff there was very nice and helpful. They decree me to the room and helped me use the elavator (you needed a room card to use it). This place has 20 floors! Food here was great and if you'received ever scared of street parking, the valet service is excellent.

Very nice room. Staff was very friendly and helpful to accommodate our needs. The rooms are very big and spacious! Love the large bathrooms and comfortable shower! We also got a room with a beautiful view overlooking the park. I also adore the cakes from Bijan Bakery directly downstairs.

I've stayed at the Fairmont several times in the past few years for business stays. It's a lovely property, live entertainment in the beautiful hotel lobby bar and a great location. Many nice restaurants and bars, all walking distance. Many outdoor festivals during the year including ice skating in the winter just outside the hotel. The staff is friendly, the room are spacious and clean. Very close to Winchester mystery mansion and I hear a large shopping mall. Visit the Winchester mansion if you get a chance. It's amazing!

Well maintained hotel rooms and facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location and close to the convention center. We were here for a sport tournament at the convention center and this hotel served us well. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarket near the hotel. We'll definitely come back in the future.

I attended an awards Banquet at the Fairmont for the second time (annual event). Like last time, I was impressed at how well kept the hotel was. It was pleasant, furniture was in good shape, and restrooms were clean and orderly. Given the choice, I would stay here as an over night guest.

Stayed in a suite with some friends. The room was a great size. We ordered a few rollout beds that were also comfortable. Room service was great as well. I'd definitely stay there again.

Wow, our experience with this Fairmont hotel is sooo different from the other Fairmont hotels we've been in. I was completely dissatisfied and disappointed with the lack of service that is given as a Platinum President club member, or as a normal guest for that matter. I. E. No welcome amenity?!? For one thing! I asked for bathroom slippers for me and my husband for our stay and was told they ran out and when I asked for a power bar to plug my laptop in, I was also told they were out and there is a Walgreen's nearby and I can go out and buy one! There was nothing extra special with these requests: it's standard for guests at any Fairmont, except maybe for the power bar but I never had a problem asking for one before. I'm not about to give up on Fairmont yet, since I liked the other hotels, but this San Jose hotel need to step it up!

I would have given the Fairmont five stars if it wasn't for two things. We tried to upgrade our room and we were told we would get the upgrade, but we never did. We were supposed to have champagne and strawberries in our room and we didn't have any. Outside of that the team hotel was great. Everyone was really nice and helpful and the room was great. I love that they have a shower and a bath. We had the Sunday brunch at the restaurant in the hotel. It had some good variety, but I don't think it was worth the 39 dollars.

For the price, the rooms are not that great. The rooms feel dated. I've stayed at boutique hotels for a fraction of the price with triple the style, cleanliness, and comfort.

Nice and convenient, excellent restrooms. Bijan nearby is wonderful. But beware McCormick & Schmick they overcharged us twice. Though the food was okay.

Check in was at 3pm, we showed up at 515 yet out room was not ready. So we had the choice of waiting for 45 mins to have the room cleaned, or we could get a free downgrade, yes free downgrade from a king sized bed to a queen sized bed, lucky us. We took the free downgrade so we could get in our room and relax. Room was small, smaller than rooms I have been in for 1/3 of the cost. No mini fridge like almost every room I have stayed at gives you. They had a drink fridge filled with drinks like a $6 can of soda. You cannot use the fridge to keep your own drinks cold or you have to pay a $20 fee, you can have them bring you a fridge which they charge you for and also charge you a delivery fee. Parking was $26, because why would a room that has nothing but is $150 a night give you free parking. Wi-Fi is $24 a day if you want to use it. Then in the morning when we get ready to leave, take a shower, while the water pressure was amazing, about every minute or 2 the hot water would cut out, and if you made it hotter, it would come back scolding and burn you, so you either had to deal with freezing water or turn the shower head for 30 sec to a min and wait for the hot water to return. Never and I mean never we will go to this hotel again. Would have been better off at some cheap little hotel.

I went to the small sushi bar inside Fairmont. The sushi was good but a tad expensive. The atmosphere was very opient though. The bar is a nice place to have a couple of drinks on a fancier date.

My company held a holiday party in Fairmont Hotel, downtown San Jose, California last Saturday, December 5, 2015. The event happened in the huge 13000 square feet Imperial Ballroom which can hold up to thousands of guests. It's luxury for corporate party. Great food presentation, and quality too, great, very attentive servers. San Jose Fairmont Hotel has cozy luxury lobby which leads you to its bar, restaurant. I like the warm not too bright light in this hotel. Floor and restrooms are very clean, very well maintained, very nice decoration everywhere inside this Fairmont. I feel like I'm in high end hotels in Vegas already.

CONS: — No in and out vehicle access in hotel. (Don't leave anything in your car) — Fairly slow service (took more than a half an hour after check in to get me bags. ) — Pricey (thought I'd get a room a bit higher up for the price) PROS: + Friendly service (check out was a breeze, everything was taken care of for me after one call… didn't have to lift a finger) + Central location + Classy As far as credit card holds, there is one, however mine was refunded quite promptly. Purposely make life hard on you if you make your reservation through Hotwire and everything is not perfect. They don't care because you got the room at a cut rate price, good service is for the people who pay full price apparently. I called to speak about the situation I got "nothing we could do". Asked to speak to the general manager told she was not in but would call me back on Monday. No call, they don't care.

I stayed here during my solo summer tour. I had driven in from my last stop, Santa Barbara, and was absolutely exhausted. So exhausted in fact I was pretty sure I wouldn't be able to perform for two hours solo that night. Well I was WRONG! The staff were nurturing and gave excellent service. My room was spotless, beautiful, and quiet. I took a 20 minute power nap on a bed that was like a heavenly cloud then a bath. I was astonished at how rejuvenating a little peace and quiet could be! My show went fabulous and I know it was due in part to this wonderful hotel.

The room was nice, and the hotel has a nice classic design. And I even got a super nice view on the 19th floor. However. * My $200 sonicare toothbrush disappeared and they refused to compensate me. * They held a hold on my credit card for 2 weeks after I moved out (and still counting). They couldn't remove the hold and neither could my bank apparently. They kept pointing fingers at each other and I spent 2 hours on the phone trying to remove the hold. In the end I had to make a 3-way conference call with my bank to get them to clear the hold. * The bank told me the hold was placed for 30 days. I think that's just what they do just in case and don't bother with what their customers think of it. * They also randomly tried to charge me for minibar items I didn't use. So. I reckon if you value your belongings, your time and don't like to be wondering about weird month long holds on your CC you might want to be cautious about staying here.

Rooms are nice. Lobby bar staff are extremely slow and make a lot of mistakes. During peak hours, you have to wait 10 minutes or more for an elevator.

Good hotel, greatly positioned in a center of the city. Too poshy for me since I consider free internet a basic human right (and not as something I have to pay in a hotel of such a category).

This is clearly the best place in the area, and a great place to stay when I travel for business. It is close to cool venues / restaurants, the convention center, offers rental cars and the women/people working at the front desk are always very helpful.

Exceptional service, this place goes out of there way to make your accommodations smooth. I had the pleasure of booking a room for an upcoming event and was extremely impressed by the overall service of the Hotel. They will help answer all your questions and go out of their way to help. Great place and wonderful service.

Beautiful hotel set in (somewhat seedy) downtown San Jose. Hotel staff was friendly, helpful, and pleasant. Rooms were immaculate. My only gripe is that there were so many hallways and turns that finding your room proves to be quite challenging. Oh, and the hotel bar is ridiculously expensive. Tip: There are three bars minutes from the hotel. Better atmosphere. Way better prices.

The hotel was in a great location. There a lot of cool places to see and eat in walking distance. The hotel was very beautifully decorated in the lobby areas. The old rooms were okay. They do have renovated rooms that I heard were awesome. They have free internet but you have to ask. There is not hot tub but there is a steam room open 24 hours. You have to pay for parking $26 a night, so we found a place close but only saved a couple of dollars. Customer service was very good.

Have stayed here on numerous occasions and love the facilities and the great service the staff offer. The lobby area offers numerous couches to share a drink and catch up with friends. The amenities are top notch — make use of the pool and gym while you are there so you are refreshed for the meetings. You can enjoy the food offered at the in house restaurants or walk outside and find all sorts of great food choices. Original Joe's is close by for a late breakfast or great Italian dinner — meals are huge and well worth the visit. The hotel is close to the city's night life and museums.
