Pretty shocking place. In our first room nothing worked and the door that went to the balcony (which was connected to other balconys) didn't lock. It's not in the nicest of areas despite being close to the civic centre and it isn't that easy to access public transport. The motel advertises free Wi-Fi, but you will not connect in the rooms — you have to go to the office. I wouldn't recommend this motel.

The establishment itself is fairly run down, but the workers are awesome! Very friendly and helpful.

We are very un happy thier was no smoke detector in the room and thir was a openly displayed electrical transformer when a called the fron desk their was no answer… and they didn't mention the remodeling on the website maybe that is y their is a cancellation fee. Perhaps after the remodeling things will be better … but for now we wouldn't recommend…

Hotel was in the middle of being remodeled during our stay, and clearly our room was next on the list. Very old bed and lumpy mattress, shower was new. We could see all the new room furniture in the basement near the parking, so I'm sure this place will be amazing in another month or two. Staff was friendly, and even with the neighborhood, we felt safe in our room.

The staff were very nice. But the hotel was under contruction (Which may make it look better later) When we walked into the room it was aweful. The reviews here are in correct. Never would we stay here again. Good thing we spent all day seeing the sites. Because as soon as we came back to the hotel we went to sleep. And left as soon as we got ready the next morning. San Francisco has beautiful sites. But always watch your surounding. Lots of homeless everywhere. Most are harmless. So I suggest doing Air bnb when visiting.

The neighborhood is pretty rotten and the hotel rudimentary but clean.

Bed and bathroom ok… parking as well. Location "by car" is good, but if you go walking around the area will meet many homeless people bagging… it's just sad, not dangerous… not totally sure…

Very friendly and kind staff/employees. Any time I made a request, they delivered. The room was huge and well-furnished. The location is easily accessible to other major main bus routes and relatively close to BART.

The area Although you can go, is complicated, there are homless and a few blocks that you would have to avoid if you walk. So and everything is accessible to walk to any place. The Wi-Fi does not reach the rooms. The bathroom was clean and new, not so the room, which had a bad look (carpet stained, old decorated).

Room was decently clean, but no refrigerator, no microwave, no coffee pot in the room or lobby, no laundry, no vending… very basic room.

Room very old style and furniture. Bathroom on the other hand was newly upgraded, well lite, nice big shower. If the rest of the room was upgraded to match, it would be a real nice place.

I have not stayed there but I talk to door man it very good but not for kids so much.

Neighborhood full of homeless. We didn't have a problem, but walking through it at night is pretty stressful.
The carpets were stained in many places.
No heating. We had to complain and were given a blower as a booster heater. It did the job.
Quite noisy area at night and the room was poorly insulated phonically. We also heard the TV from the top neighbor.

No heating for the cold.

I was impressed with the authentic Italian flavored cheese pizza and non-greasy crust! The customer service is fast and friendly. The crowd is easygoing and family-oriented; they stay open until 2AM.

Motel in the center of San Francisco. A little seedy. In our room was not working the heating and we had to put a portable heater. The good: you can sleep and park the car in downtown San Francisco for a little more than the cost of a parking only for the car.

You arrive in San Francisco and what you do, well the first thing is to leave the car, because driving and parking in this city is impossible. Here you can leave the car for free when you are a guest and you either take Uber or tram. The logde is well located, easy access to Chinatown, japantown or the union area. If you want you can get to the Walk walking a little longer. Clean, comfortable, affordable

Get to San francisco and you do, well the first thing is to stop the car, because driving and parking in this city is impossible. Here you can leave the car free to be a guest and or you can take Uber or tram. The logde is well located, easy access to Chinatown, japantown, or the area of union. If you want you can reach the Foot walk a little longer. Clean, comfortable, affordable.

Motel in a somewhat dangerous area. Next to Tenderloin, which is not safe to walk around during night hours. The motel room was reasonably clean (carpet was stained), and free parking was very handy.

Room was advertised as with AC. There is definitely no AC! We were given a fan, first two nights were not enjoyable anyway. The place is a bit run-down, e. G. Failing outlets. Wifi works depending on which room you are in, we were lucky. Some of the staff is helpful (we were given a kettle for heating water for our baby), others less so. Location is good for exploring SF if you don't mind running into a lot of homeless people. But that is not the motel's fault but an SF reality. If your budget is tight then this place is just about okay but absolutely avoid when temperatures are high.

The rooms are dirty, and they smell horrible. Wires hanging out of the walls, no smoke detectors, Filthy carpet. No air conditioning. And with all of that, homeless people are everywhere outside of this hotel. Don't let the pictures fool you, the rooms are nothing like the pictures. The bedding was dirty, and you get two plastic cups in the bathroom, that if used and not thrown away, are not replaced. No drinking water available, Desk clerk also asked that we pay with cash. That should have been a red flag for us! Giving this hotel "one" star, is overrated. Horrible place!

Under new management. Loved the old owners, their son was amazingly talented — went into marketing, lovely memories.

Please people do not go there if you have small kids, splash stains and all kinda stains on the carpet walls, the place is dirty and the neighbourhood looks like a ghetto, oh and the best part is they will not refund you your money, not even some of it. We literally stood outside the whole time till our taxi came for us and spend some more money on another hotel. That place is expensive and nasty, you can see it and smell it from the time you open the door. You have been warned!

This hotel was OK. The parking area was safe and you need to be buzzed in by the 25 hour front desk to get to the elevator. Our room was OK as far as the bed was clean and the bathroom was not bad. The floor had been vacuumed, but not well. We found a piece of what looked like bacon on it. There were also random hairs in the sink and on the bathroom walls. We wore sandals in the shower and around the room, it was not clean enough to walk around barefoot. There was no sign of bed bugs which is a bonus. When we were in the parking area, we noticed very old vacuums they use are kept near the trash pile in the garage that has a strong urine smell. However, this area is not good once it is dark. We arrived around 9pm, checked in and decided to walk tb keys, not slide cards. It was an inexpensive way to stay right in the city. If we knew how this hotel was, we would have looked for a place just outside the city instead. There is free Wi-Fi, it does not work. We were able to connect for one minute before being kicked off. Every employee was very nice and helpful. It is too bad it wasn't in a better area and a little nicer.

Didn't make it farther than the office checking in. Which is the problem… I attempted to cancel the reservation due to a non disclosed policy banning any visitors, and despite their failure to disclose that policy, they refused to give a full refund for the reservation. As I discovered, this place has a draconian policy forbidding visitors at any time for any reason. This is completely unreasonable. Particularly at a point in time where people in the United States are feeling more disconnected and alone than ever, policies like this do nothing to help and are a huge part of the problem. This issue is not limited to motels or hotels, but also includes SRO providers, BMR apartments, and even 'standard' leases. While the last two may not usually (presently) have "visiting hour" rules in place, many leases limit the number of times a (or sometimes *any*) non-tenant can stay as an overnight guest during the lease year, or how many days a particular non-tenant can visit a property at any point during the day for any duration (no matter how short) per lease year.

Location relatively central, because it was already time to come back to the whole room clean, odkbf bath or so similar location in clean location of the company available room service rather late only the day.

Not bad for the horrible location. Very sketchy surrounding area. They keep everything locked up pretty tight so you and your car are safe.

The hotel is very clean and the staff is very helpful. Executed as a typical American motel. The quality is well priced, many do not expect.

Summary: Great hotel, would recommend to friends, would absolutely stay again. What to expect: Absolutely no frills hotel, for a steal of a deal for San Francisco. At $100/night this place was well under half the price of any other place when we were looking (admittedly we booked this place about a week before our actual stay so options were limited). Location: Adjacent to the Tenderloin. One block East, and things got rough and quick. However, one block West and you were on Van Ness Ave and things were great. Great coffee shop around the corner, and easy access to transit on Van Ness or Market St. Cleanliness: I have paid twice as much money for hotels not nearly as clean. Bathroom was spotless. Some cigarette burns on the carpet, and some stains, but nothing that concerned me. Everything was so very clean. I have bad allergies, so things like mould / mustiness and some cheap cleaning products can make my skin crawl. There was none of that. The room: Bed was very comfortable, and the TV was nice with good selection of channels. And that was about all that was in the room. Hairdryer was available at the front desk when we asked. Noise: Fairly noisy, but what downtown hotel isn't? There are no bars nearby so noise was confined to traffic (hotel is on a bus route) and the odd person on the street. Staff: The staff were amazing. Extremely helpful, and very courteous. Seems like the hotel is run by a family, and that was the impression they gave.

Nice room, clean and comfortable. The location is not the best, even though it is close to the best attractions of SF.

This is a very well priced stay. The family that run this motel are very friendly. They will ensure your stay in Sanfransisco is pleasant. This is an older motel, but clean and tidy. There is plenty of free parking on site. This more than paid for the stay. We found it a good value.

Ok motor lodge, the Wi-Fi was not that good but still usable. Room was clean. The area seems a bit weird, you smell urine and weed all the time.

The surroundings don´t seem to be that great, a lot of (poor) people on the streets, sleeping and hanging around. It didn´t seem to be a bad neighborhood. The hotel and room itself were good, fine beds and friendly staff :)

The only affordable motel we could find with en suite rooms in San Francisco. The staff were very friendly and the rooms comfortable. It was great to have free parking and Wi-Fi. However it's next to a quite dodgy part of San Francisco, I wouldn't loiter in the area.

Very clean little motel with super links to the city. Very friendly staff who could give us any good insider info. We were there uber weekend and would keep coming back. Were very satisfied, very much recommended.

The hotel is basic, but there are very good service Jane is excellent hostess, the security problem there is no sector this well.

It wasn't bad. The people were friendly and very helpful, the rooms were clean and you were right downtown! But. If you are a light sleeper. Don't go there. People come and go at all hours and you can hear everything they say. It you're not used to the city. Well you'll experience it nicely here haha. But overall it was really not that bad! :).
