I got married at Pala in May of 2020 this year and it was a perfect day! The staff was amazing and made sure everything went smooth. Plus, the location is beyond gorgeous!

All public and many private courses have suffered economically from the pandemic. Pala Mesa has maintained their golf course through it as well as anyone. Most importantly, their famous, slick greens are still as good and pure as ever. Good times there, again, today!

Great course! very beautiful place.

They book to many golfer’s then don’t have enough carts. Last time we we there we waited 15mins each hole. They don’t have a Marshall to move people along. I don’t think I will go there again. We booked it through golf now. The young man was rude to us when we said we wanted our money back!

Loved the entertainment — Jesus Melecio was incredible. We want him to come back and play again!

Whole property run down no upgrades or renovations in probably 40 years. At $200a night totally not worth it. It has a golf course so what pool area totally run down broken cheap lounge chairs I don't think its worth over $70. Temecula 15 minutes away. For $200 you get a real luxury resort I would give this place 2 stars and I am being generous. Fortunately I now live here in fallbrook I love the town and won't need to stay at this place.

We celebrated my grandmas 86th Birthday in the fireside and Sunroom and I was impressed with the staff and the delicious food, the staff went over and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and the chef came out to check on everything the food was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ everything was so delicious we are a very picky family when it comes to food so we were impressed thank you Beth in catering for helping me with all the changes and thank you to the banquet staff and thank you to Chef Fernando! We will be celebrating more events here in the future and of your looking for a wedding Venue contact Luciana she’s amazing.

Nice place though the "rustic" description is just a nicer way of saying the place it old and very dated. The bathroom was clean enough but the marble sink counter had a big crack all the way thru from the right faucet knob down to the sink, the half curtain decor over the bath tub has cobwebs in them and the curtain rod was dusty. The bathtub had chips in it (like it was painted and it chipped away). But, still a nice little getaway and the golf course had a challenging layout, food was ok just make sure if you order their rib eye to hold the BBQ sauce cause ours certainly was seasoned with it (we told the manager it was our 1st time to have rib eye grilled in BBQ sauce, messed up the taste of the beef but we ate it cause we were so hungry after golf). Staff were friendly and nice and will go back there to enjoy another golf package in the future. The 2 days of unlimited golf and 1 night stay for 2 people was a good deal at $250.

Last night while dining with a friend, and enjoying the beautiful breeze, and wonderful music at Pala Mesa Resort, somehow I misplaced a very large check as I was getting my credit card out of my wallet to pay for my share of the meal. I didnt realize the check was missing, until this morning when I was going to the bank to make a deposit. I panicked slightly, and went through my wallet several times, to no avail! … Calling my friend to ask if perhaps it was misplaced in her car. Long story longer… I called the Resort, and low and behold after several agonizing moments, the Manager so sweetly said to me that our waiter, Fernando found it on our table, and so kindly turned it in! I am so thankful, and grateful for this honest young man.
That there are decent, kind, honest people who choose to do the right thing! Thank you Fernando.

My wife booked my 40th birthday party here. We golfed all day and stayed the night. The staff was great and the course was too! The event went off without a hitch and everyone was really impressed with the attentive and courteous staff. So much so, one of my friends that attended booked her birthday there too! Beautiful grounds and a great nights stay. Excellent food too (try the fish tacos). The bar also has great, original drinks! Highly recommend!

Horrible accommodations. The room had not been used in a while. The a/c was broken and kept off, the air was stagnant and it smelled like grandpa was ready to kick the bucket. They had 25 yr old "Box" TVs. All they did to remediate was slap the a/c controller back on the wall and they sent a boy to spray some febreeze and sprinkle some scented baking soda on the carpet. They were supposedly out of rooms and while I was waiting for a fix, I was listening to them talk to the next customers telling them that one of them employees "conveniently" switched their joint rooms without asking the customer.

Stay away. At least until the buyout from Hilton takes place. After finding out from maintenance that the AC units weren’t working in our building and would not be working during our stay, the front desk offered up a $25 refund on a $600 stay. Add the ant infestation in the bathroom and in our beds, $25 seemed a tab bit unfair. When I spoke to the general manager, who initially chose not to speak to me, his excuse for a non-functioning AC system was that it was a hot weekend in SoCal. I’m from Phoenix and it was 116 at home. And my AC is working. After calling the GM on his bogus excuses, he agreed to reduce our rate by nearly $80 a night. And I was fine with this. It was certainly better than $25 total. However, after several families, some with young children, complained about the AC not working and being bit by ants, the general manager refused to give others the same refund we supposedly will receive. The grounds are beautiful and perhaps new ownership can turn this dump around. However, I will never visit Pala Mesa again, not will I recommend it to others.

AC was not working. Called and they said they were working on it. 2 days later still nothing. Room quality is fair at best. Other families in our party had toilets not working, ants everywhere in the bathroom. Manager gave one family a discount but refused to honor the same discount for everyone that had the same issues. He became combative and was very dismissive. Will not stay here again.

Great place, the people who I talked to were nice and once we got into our room that was great too. Everything was clean and organized property. Even the cups they gave us were still wet from being washed. What keep in mind that we did have a group of over 5 people so, yes there was a lot of things happening at the same time. But over great paying or your Buck. Thank you.

Restaurant service is mediocre, at best. Takes forever to even get water, much less cocktails. Waiter doesn't even know the soup of the day. Needless to say, we won't be returning anytime soon.

I have stayed here a few times over the years. It's getting pretty dated. We didn't have two sets of drapes in our room, the sun drapes were missing. We were also missing a clock. The restaurant used to be really great but this time it was mediocre at best.

Great place to get away. We stayed there for 2 nights while our home was fumigated with our 2 cats and a dog. Price was better than boarding the pets and we got a very spacious room, a suite. At a good weed day rate. The only thing is its far away from everything, Bar closed at 8:30 on the night we wanted to go, Tuesday, our anniversary. No microwave in rooms. Nice grounds for walking around and wedding venue.

A vacation close to home, always been fun to come back to especially when you are from SoCal. The restaurant personnel are so nice, very accommodating and caring. For golfers, stay right side of the fairways. Balls roll towards the freeway. Fairways are well maintained, greens could get fast during the summer.

We had the breakfast buffet and bottomless mimosas overlooking the golf course while the guys played a round. It was a beautiful setting, the food was great, and our service was wonderful. Will be back!

Fun relaxing place. Great staff that's very friendly. We just had a few appetizers as we were celebrating taxes being done and all were great.

Pala Mesa Golf Resort rated 3-1/2 stars: Not far from the former gold and tourmaline mines of Pala, the Pala Mesa Resort is home to a well-presented, scenic and always challenging golf course. Beyond the course the surrounding hills provide many scenic views, with avocado groves and fruit orchards much in evidence.

This place is gorgeous, but the staff has no sense of urgency or desire to assist. We went for lunch and it took forever. Instead of apologizing or trying to check on our order, they responded with excuses that showed how little they prioritize their guests. If you hold a wedding here, I'm sure they're great. Otherwise, I recommend going elsewhere.

Quiet but older hotel. Staff was friendly. And attentive. Room was clean just needs a upgrade.

Don't stay there or eat there. The buildings and rooms are full of cobwebs and rotten wood everywhere. The food was terrible. And when we complained at check out a shrug of the shoulders. That s good customer service.

Service and food was good. Community building in fair shape. Heating and cooling subject to irregular temperatures… too honey and too cold. Rooms are clean, but need remodeling. Landscaping beautiful.

Our group enjoyed a Christmas luncheon in the wedding venue. Everything was beautiful and the servers really went the extra mile to make us comfortable.

Great price and surroundings were peaceful. Golf course on the property and excellent restaurant.

Gorgeous mid December day in mid 70s, that's temperature, not my score. Fairways in good condition, greens very good and a bit faster than other courses in the area.

Loving the golf and mostly the people here! Yoga class outside is fun too. A must stay for the Fallbrook area.

Quiet, comfortable resort with a challenging, well-kept golf course. The basic rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The buildings are terraced among trees and along the course, making for enjoyable views. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Our only issue was the inconsistent restaurant food. Most items were well prepared, but we also were served an under-cooked egg and cheese omelette and the worst example of a breakfast burrito ever (egg, cheese, sour cream, generic salsa).

It was a nice place but I think they are a little over priced. It is a much older place. Granted they take as good a care of it as they can. That's the main reason I give it a four star. A little better price and it would have been a five star. The staff were good a couple had a little attitude. I do not think we would stay again.

Pala Mesa is a wonderful place for a relaxing retreat with activities such as golf, spa, tennis or just sit in Aqua Terra restaurant and have an appetizer and a few drinks with friends. Starting at the beginning of 2018 they will offer art classes and programs from The Green Art House. The art school will offer painting, drawing, sculpting and workshops from Master artists from all over the world. The school will also be working with Pala Mesa to have events such as "art movie night" and "wine and painting sessions". I highly recommend Pala Mesa for your next personal or corporate getaway! Look both up and like them on Facebook for current events!

We get our group of friends together here a lot. The food and service are so great! We also play mahjong there 5-6 times a month and always feel welcome. We are taken care of so well! Mary.

I was surprised by how outdated the rooms were with the bulky TVs from the 90's. The mini refrigerator was not chilly at all. The bathtub does not drain properly. Room was big, good in cleanliness, and AC worked great, but it is still not worth the high price for the non-functional fridge, bathtub, and the TV as a decor.

Stayed here for a wedding and we were very disappointed with the room. The rooms were very outdated, but I could have lived with that. The rest of the problems not so much. The air conditioner barely worked and since the temperature was 102 this was an issue. Several other guests had the same problem with their rooms as well. There was a weird odor to the room our entire stay and then when we woke up in the morning there were ants everywhere! From what I was told the brides dress was covered in them. It was definitely not worth the high price we paid. If we ever attend another wedding there we will stay at another venue.

This is a decent venue that had enough space to fit our 180 or so guests. The employees were friendly and accommodating even though they had a few other events happening at the same time as we had requested chairs multiple times throughout the night. The restrooms were a little dingy however…

Beautiful resort that is huge and clean. All the staff are very polite and helpful. The food was all really good. The rooms and facilities are all great and I really recommend staying here if your in the area.

The Aqua Terra restaurant was very good. Better than expected for food and dessert (especially their brownie birthday cake). Servers were nice and polite. Good atmosphere and views of the gardens. Will come back.

I used to play this course years ago before joining a private club and always enjoyed the experience. Last night we came for dinner and to see Anthony Cullins "The Fallbrook Kid" nice intimate venue. We ordered dinner which didn't take that long, the server was friendly food was good, although my girlfriends Scallops were big and tasty unfortunately one wasn't cooked thoroughly, once we were done eating the server delivered the bill and informed us she was soon to be leaving, we paid our dinner bill and never had another server ever come to ask us for drink orders or anything all evening. That was very unprofessional it was as if we were invisible. I ended up going in the the bar to get our drinks, even after talking to another server that was taking care of others just tables away from us to send somebody over to our area, still no one ever showed up. We will come back for music depending on the band, I hope then they get the service corrected for the patio area.

We played golf here. Good side on the documentation received. In reality, very beautiful greens, proper starting tees but atrocious fairways, a field of potato… In addition very slow game, we gave up at 14th hole. On the other hand, friendly staff.

This is just from a spectator point of view. Our friends had their wedding ceremony here and we really enjoyed the experience. Great, friendly staff and picturesque scenery.

All I have to say is nasty smelly old room ground floor had dead bugs all over the place noisey from the top floor room. I only stayed because of the tour I had the next day, Can you say make over will not ever stay at this Pala Mesa Resort ever, change you name to Pala Mesa Motel… my experience.

Are experience when we walked in was that the entire lobby smelt like the sent of cigars. We went for a late night dinner and are server was very distracted by serving drinks to people. Are cloth napkins smelt like mildew and it took hours for all the food to be served and it also came at different times so half are party ate and the other half was waiting still. The rooms are out dated but clean. For as much as they are charging I expected more than what I experienced.

Outstanding. Love everything about this place. I went there second time to place golf with my buddies. Everyone is so nice and helpful, their staff should get bonuses every week! Rooms are great, seemed to be renovated with nice views. I especially liked Aquaterra Live Music Friday — my favorite.

Played before a golf outing at 7:48am. Played in 3 1/2 hours, geens fast and very true! Nice carts with GPS (included), pleasant Bev cart girl. Over all great experience, and will return. This place is in great shape.

People were very nice. Room was clean but definitely old. Built in the 60s with an older musty smell in the room. We requested a room change. The staff was very accommodating but the same smell was in the new room. There is a newer section but we were unable to get a room there, probably because of the wedding occurring on-site.

When walking into the lobby, it felt like a great place. We loved the restaurant in every way. The ambiance, the staff, the food, and the drinks were wonderful. The room we were promised was supposed to be a fairway view and there was no view at all. We could barely see through the trees to the parking lot. The room smelled musty, the curtains were unhemmed, the bed was old and uncomfortable, and the television was small with very poor reception. We were also given a room right next to a wedding reception, so it was loud and there was no parking. We asked to be moved, which they did the next day. They moved us to an Executive Suite overlooking the pool, which was very nice. I left an expensive hair tool in the room and there was no record of it being found, so that was disconcerting. Someone has obviously taken it. I am positive I left it in the room. So, all in all, I would recommend the dining area, especially outside. The food and drinks are great, service too. Other than that, I would not stay there again.
