The overall cleanliness of the room was pretty good. One of the beds was very hard. We stayed several nights and due to having pets we did not have room service clean the beds but we asked for sheets and made them our selves. The bed was stained all over and was not something I wanted to sleep on again. The bath tub did not have a plug for kids to take a bath. The cleaning ladies were very helpful and very nice. The night crew was unable to get us any extra towels or blankets.

Modernized room was nice. Scent in room was interesting, it was probably much better then what it was covering up but it was strong by the door. It was probably covering up smoke. Got used to it. Non carpet flooring great! Would like more pillows. Specific hotel — house keeping needs a way to dispose of trash in parking lot — bags of trash left all day and all night. Check in is at 3:00 but room not ready till 3:30. Rated as average b/c no breakfast and bed comfort was average. Extra pillows would help. Location was very good. Hotel was full, book in advance.

Clean and spacious rooms and good location. However VERY minimalistic! No fridge or microwave in the room, no included breakfast. They don't even provide basics like shampoo/conditioner during room service. For a hotel that is charging well above $120 a night for the room I found this less than satisfactory.

The ladies at the front desk, especially a lady named Shannon went out of their way to get us the room we wanted. Also everyone else who worked there outside of the front office we very friendly and helpful too! Our room was spotless! We got a parking spot right in front of our room which was so convenient and made it easy to bring in our luggage.

It was so wonderfully restful and quiet. Everything was great. Room clean and accommodating. Front desk was so helpful and polite. It was overall fantastic! I keep coming back and will keep coming back. I will definitely keep referring family and friends to come join the experience and being so conveniently close to the beach and restaurants.

The desk staff was friendly and helpful. They made us feel welcome and treated us like valued customers. The lobby was clean and fresh. Our room had an overwhelming musty smell. The floors were clean and free of debris. The television worked properly. The shower/bathtub was dirty, and there was a crack in the shower wall. The toilet was clean and operable. The sinks were clean and free of hair. One of the beds had bedding with a cigarette burn in it. The sheets had hair on them when we pulled the blankets back. The top comforters did not smell freshly washed; they had a musty smell. A group of 4 — 6 customers were loitering in the hallway upstairs late into the night. At one point, we could hear a women scream and shout, "Get out of here! " While we understand that the behavior of guests is outside of the control of hotel staff, we did not feel that there was proper security or supervision at night. The price was fair and the location and proximity to Legoland are ideal, so I would consider recommending this location to someone who is not picky about their accommodations. The experience with the front desk staff was the best part of our stay.

First and foremost we arrived the person at the front desk was very nice and have great customer service his name was Taylor I believe. We arrived in the room seemed to be clean at first after we settled and we noticed the microwave was not clean the floors were filthy. As it turned into the night we noticed a few people hanging out drinking in the parking lot I thought of people walking around asked us to borrow phone then ask for some change. Very noisy, people working on rooms late hours of night people barbecuing and the back also drinking and their cars and listening to music. It is safe to say that this is not a family friendly hotel. And it's sad to say because you are only about 10 minutes away from Legoland. Was not happy with our stay safe to say that I will never return to this location. By far the worst Motel 6 I've been too. The restroom was not even clean either. The second day we were there I didn't say anything about the microwave I wanted to see if they would clean it also about the floors which we got there after the housekeeping had clean the room the only thing that I was noticed that was touch was the best mermaid we got fresh towels and that's it there was trash underneath the beds the rooms were not sweet the microwave was still dirty I can only hope that this Motel 6 will be updated with their staff and with some new appliances. Was not worth the $87 that I paid for two nights like I said before disappointed.

There was a screeching sound coming from the bathroom which started in the middle of the night. It was quite late already when I checked in, so I didn't want to change rooms. In addition, when checking in, the front desk mentioned that the system was down for maintenance and no one could check in with a credit card. Cash only. Seriously? IT Maintenance during normal business hours? You probably lost a good bit of income from the poor planning. You can do better.

The stay was good. We were on the road side. Very noisy! Towels old and not very white. The drapes were not properly hanging. It really cheapens the whole look even from the out side. Generally the room was clean. Bed comfortable. Staff at desk great. Coffee was very good. Water pressure in shower good. Affordable. Family emergency so location was convenient. Good location for our needs. Nearby restaurants excellent.

The accommodations at Carlsbad East are first-class and the only aspect that surpasses the cleanliness of the room, the interior decoration (such as the reading lamps), and spacious living space is the staff: friendly, attentive, world-class. I truly mean that and choose to stay here instead of a nearby location where I am an Elite member, because the staff is second to none. Thank you for your consistent efforts on behalf of us patrons, I for one really do appreciate them. I would recommend this location without reservation.

Great location, great staff, great stay the only thing that I did not like was the big oil/grease stain on the bed spread. Other than that everything was great! Not sketchy like other motel 6's can be and not full of cops!

The worst hotel/motel experience of my life. Absolutely NO water pressure at all with the shower head or bath faucet. I really mean NO PRESSURE. Had to cut my stay early and go to a motel with water. I guess guests should bring their own bucket and jug of water to take showers and wash their hands. This is presumably due to your new "green initiative". Also, the heater and AC was very restricted so the room was never the right temperature… I could not cool it down enough to be comfortable and I am assuming there was a similar "global warming" restriction on the max heat setting as well. So, I will wait until the planet has "solved" the "global warming crisis" before considering staying at a Motel 6 again. Just think of all the planet's water, heating and cooling resources you will save with those extra empty rooms! How joyous for you! Oh, I immediately deleted your My Motel 6 app off my phone, etc.

Room here was better than I expected, based on reading previous reviews. Called ahead of time, to make sure my reservation wouldn't be canceled/overlooked because I knew we'd be arriving after 10pm. Got there after 11pm and had NO problem with reservation (except same issue again, like a few weeks ago in Vallejo, CA, I tried reserving a room with a mini fridge and it didn't happen). Front desk clerk was nice during check in and checked for available rooms with mini fridge but nothing was available. A little inconvenient spending 3 nights there, with 4 kids and no fridge access but we survived! Housekeeping ladies were awesome and all in all, we had a great trip to Legoland and the room was great for the price!

Ive been to other motel 6 in my time n honestly great customer service rooms are clean n cozy n comfortable. I think location is great! Everything is always clean. Ive come back 3 times here. Today is my 3rd time.

Staff are friendly, but rooms and maintenance and not good. We have been to many Motel6 hotels to stay but didn’t had very good experience in this particular motel6. Things to improve. 1. Room maintenance lots of mosquitos, 2. AC unit not working properly, 3. Water — hardly comes from taps and 4. Doors very hard to close and open. Sorry guys this is a genuine feedback. Hope you guys will work and improve.

Everyone there was very friendly and professional. If I needed help with anything I was able to get answers and a plan of action. Great overall. I enjoyed my stay.

Whenever I travel I look for the Motel 6 because they are accessible and are in excellent condition in the service I have never had any complaint or inconvenience I recommend to 100%

Very good location, close to the outlets, restaurants… it was the cherry pie on my first visit to Legoland.

The sign lit up outside said rooms price was 57.00 — exactly what the motel 6web site said — once I walked into the lobby the clerk said room prices were 87.00 — I paid because I had beeem driving for 28 hours — and over tired. I realize motel 6 could care less — since they got their inflated price from me — — and are such a huge company 1 one single persons opinion means nothing — — but just drive past this motel — it's not worth the price.

We had a king size bed that was comfortable. It was a very basic room but did the job for a great price. Really loved that pets stayed free. Too bad they don't have microwaves in the bedroom. It was quite awkward to go into the lobby to heat up food. I would stay here again. I was in a great location.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. Their King Bed Room was good for the price, but I wanted a microwave and refrigerator. I went to the Motel 6 website and booked a room with a King bed, microwave and fridge for less than my other room. It was a lot bigger with updated furniture and decor. Their pricing is simple and reasonable. Friday's are $10.00 more than the other weekdays, Saturday's are $10.00 more than Friday and Sunday is back to weekday rates. I would recommend this Motel 6. No frills, just good basic rooms and amenities, and a friendly staff.

I have stayed here before and remember it was a great motel and a better bargain!. Better than most 4 star motels I have stayed. Extremely Clean, larger beds and very comfortable large pillows… A real bargain. The grounds are very well kept, rooms and out side always look like it has just been painted. The nice lady in front desk give you positive energy with her lovely smile, I remember her name was Susan …

Upgraded decor to reflect current designs. However, it is still same old Motel 6. Not that it is good or bad. They are AWESOME for being dog and kid friendly. I like the no carpet because I can wipe it down. Friendly staff. No major complaints, but if I had 3 wishes in order to improve the experience, I would ask for 1 a larger room, 2 more light blocking curtain and 3 non smoking rooms that don't smell like smoke. Otherwise, not a bad stay.

A very good option to travel in the United States, on a tour between San Diego and Los Angeles. It allowed us as a family to enjoy the trip, with breaks.

Never, ever again. The sheets are like sand paper, there was no bath stopper so I could bathe, noisy AF, smokers right outside my door every hour, pillows are flat, smells like a smoking room and I specifically requested a non smoking room… Look, I know when you book at a Motel 6 you're not getting the Ritz, but this was just absolutely ridiculously bad. I will never return.

I completed my reservation online. I asked for a smoking room and got a non-smoking room, my room had neither a fridge or a microwave in it. I didn't receive fresh towels the next day. There were long hairs in both The shower and on the bed. The floor had not been mopped in God knows how long. I made a mistake and waste some water on the floor. I cleaned it up with the hotel's hand rag (since I always pack my own. ) And the rag was brown. The night I checked in, the clerk seemed liked she had a rough or stressful day and it showed. For this Motel 6 to be in a new area it really does not reflect its surrounding environment.

It was adequate. We were evacuating from fire and we're happy to get the room. It was clean and pretty comfortable but definitely no frills. Bring your shampoo because they only have soap.

I liked my room and especially liked that the bathroom had combo, Shower and Tub. The people there to serve me were very nice and helped me out wherever I asked for help. I also liked that I was put on the quiet side of the model. My only complaint was that the heater would not go to as high a temperature as I would have liked it at times. I would definitely stay in this Motel 6 again, when I get to the San Diego area again.

I've stayedhere several times and it isn't the Ritz, but it's nice for a Motel 6 and you won't find a better deal on a room this close to the beach. Pet friendly and no extra pet fees make it perfect if you travel with your pooch. Right off the freeway, but I've never heard the traffic noise in my room.

The front desk clerk I believe her name is Susan, is very very nice and patient. My debit card was getting declined for some odd reason and Susan who was suppose to be getting off work waited patiently and made sure that I was gonna rent a room. Most people would of just said your card was declined and took off work, but she stayed walked me through the process without any hesitation. Motel 6 you have one awesome employee who I believe deserves a raise or just a simple pat on the back. Great job Susan I will definitely come back and let everyone else know what a pleasant stay I had here.

Booked a room to spend the night. Non-smoking. There was an odd smell in the room as if someone had try to cover up the cigarette smell. The blanket had a cigarette burn. There was a hot sauce packet in the toilet. I seriously considered taking a loss and driving home with my wife and kids from Carlsbad to Baldwin Park rather than stay there.

Check-In: I'll give the front desk lady SOME credit just for saying things nicely. Another guest was complaining about a drunk guy with his butt hanging out in-front of his kids and others kids. Kindly (In tone), the lady said she cannot do anything about it, the guest began to curse and then left, this was a horrible start. Room: Upon walking in (mentality, "whatever it's Motel 6"). Took a shower and had to rush to leave for dinner and a night of drinking with friends. First impression walking in, someone fanned the covers back over the bed and propped up the pillows like they had somewhere else to be. Two towels for showering, first had hair all over it, second was good. Got back to my room after 1am, pulled back the covers to go to sleep and the bed sheet had blood on it. I drank enough that I decided to get some rest on the floor. An hour or two at most went by I just finally decided to leave (I'd say I am pretty calm, just want to get home and sleep, I'll call later in the day). Contacted Motel 6's service line later in the day and they directed me to just contact the actual location in regards to refund etc. If I was smart enough I would have written the ladies name down from this call, called 10-2-17 3:31pm PST, would have sworn this so-called manager was someones wicked mother who just flew into work on her broom the way her tone was and her throwing life lessons at me over the phone.

The stay was very pleasant. I would recommend putting more emphasis on cleaning, especially the removal of hairs from towels and the floor. It would also be good if there was a cooler.

The new remodel is a nice change with the solid floors makes it easy when traveling with dogs. Everything felt cleaner. It was easy check in the room was very comfortable the bed was soft easy check out it made a quick overnight stay very pleasurable thank you.

With a Motel 6 you gotta already know what you're getting. It's a room, with a bed, and a bathroom. Nothing fancy. That said, the AC is nice and cold, the bed is pretty comfortable, and the shower was warm. The outside lights are pretty bright, so even with the curtains closed there is light leakage, though still much darker than during daylight. Price was cheap. Area seems nice. I'm not in town for Legoland, but if you are this motel is pretty close.

Our main concern is our stay in room 117 a SMOKING room. Please be advised I was not given the option to choose smoking or non-smoking rooms at the time I phoned in the reservation. The BAD smell just permeated throughout the room whereby all our belongings smelled of stale cigarette smoke. When asked to be moved we were told nothing was available at the time and that we would have to wait until the following Monday to check again. Well, that would have been too long already so we decided to stay put and try to deal with it. Considering were unpacked and would have been situated in the room 5 days already. Not only did the room smell terrible, other conditions made it appear to be second rate establishment. Such as the top of the drapery is torn and held together with a safety pin; the shower curtain torn and tattered and was barely long enough to keep the water from dripping outside of the tub and mainly, the toilet tank wobbled so badly a slight bump would have it on the floor at anytime. Your maintenance man did come by however, we did not appreciate to have him do repairs while we were in the room. One would expect for the price of the room a hair dryer and refrigerator would be provided in all rooms. Our relatives staying in room 157 were provided a refrigerator and microwave oven. I will say though, your housekeeping staff were very cordial and pleasant. Your front desk staff could improve on their customer service skills.

This location was over priced for what you get. No coffee pot, no hair dryer, no free Wi-Fi, no refrigerator, no Jacuzzi. Shelves but no dresser. Only one mirror. No breakfast…

Affordable room to help maintain your vacation budget. Hotel is located minutes from Legoland. Staff suggested visiting Oceanside pier just 10 minutes away. We booked a double bed room, beds were comfortable and room was clean. Only downside to the room was the lack of a table … There was one office chair in the built in desk which meant eating on the beds. Small table with 2 chairs would have been great, but still great room for the price and location. Would definitely book here again!

I am not sure why I am receiving this survey but it does give me the opportunity to convey my opinion over a recent situation which occurred at this Carlsbad East location. I noticed a charge on my debit account for $80 when I had never stayed. I had made a reservation but once I knew I would not be able to make it I called them and advised them. A review of my account will indicated that I am a very frequent guest at you Southern California locations. I have praise for all but this location. This is the very first time in about 8 years that a location has actually tried to charge me even though I did not check in and then when asked about the charge by myself personally I was lied to in 3 separate occasions by their Customer Service Representatives. It was not until I contacted the Corporate office which verified the charge was in fact from Carlsbad East and advised me they would contact the property manager to resume over the matter. The corporate office responded to me almost immediately indicating that the property Manager would process my refund and apologized for the error. The fact is there was no error the charge was done intentionally and I was lied to intentionally including the Manager. Not till the Corporate office got involved did they realize they should tell the truth. I will not stay at this location at any time in the future and I suggest you review your management at this location for their professionalism and business ethics.

Idk if the floor is think upstairs but we can hear every footstep up there, was hard to go to bed cause it continued all night tell 2

Our recent stay at Motel 6 Carlsbad East was quite pleasant. Upon check in, our room was not yet ready, but the front desk staff was very nice and accommodating to our needs. The person who cleaned our room (122) was very friendly and asked if it was cleaned to my satisfaction after each cleaning. The room was adequately equipped with the basics such as beds, table, nightstand, bathroom and sink. All was suitable except the bed was quite worn. I did not rest well, but that is not entirely the fault of the Motel. All in all, great place for the price. I would just recommend replacing the mattress.

Price was ok except for the Wi-Fi… after being told that the $4.99 would cover all our devises… it didn't and had to pay more so all my kids could use Wi-Fi… when we asked about the Wi-Fi the desk clerk denied that she told me that it would cover all devises… cockroaches yes there were a few.

Work paid the bill. It was clean, inside and out. Pretty peaceful, in a good part of town. Plenty of food and stores nearby.

Only wish coffee was available before 7 since I'm an early riser.

I like THIS Motel 6, The location is in a decent neighborhood. Tip Top restaurant is right across the street. The rooms are very clean in THIS Motel 6 Carlsbad East. The rooms are updated with hard wood floors and nice clean decor. This was our second time staying at this hotel. The beds were comfortable. There are no extras. But its a good room. We normally do not stay at Motel 6. But we like this one and will return again. Customer service was very friendly and helpful.

This hotel has a great price for the area. The room was clean and the bed comfy. Only soap available but I bring my own stuff anyway. You have to give some things up for price. I knew ahead of time about the do not disturb sign so made my own. Even on Friday and Saturday the noise level was good. I would recommend another dryer and washer as the beach is the main entertainment in this area. One complaint for me was the bathroom floor did not appear to have been swept as there was hair in the corners of the room. Otherwise we would use this place again.

When I checked in at the front desk, they asked me if I needed any shampoo or toothpast. I responded "does it not come in the room? " The front desk person responded "they dont" and then informed me that they were out of tooth past. They then go on to hand me 4 small clear condament container cups with small amounts of shampoo squirted into them… I don't even know what to say about that… disapointing.

I hate posting this, because I generally an easygoing about things, but… for 99/night let me describe my experience. Non-smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke, overpowering. Cannot open windows (they're sealed). No remote for the TV, called the front desk at 2pm and they told me to walk over and get a remote. Acted annoyed I even asked. Gave me a remote that didn't work, then one with no batteries. I Got over it. There was hairs from the previous guest all over everything in the bathroom. I would have moved hotels or rooms, but it was full because of the holiday. I ended up having to sleep with the door to the room open with the deadbolt latched to try get the smell of smoke out, as the AC filters were so smoke filled it was crazy. Also, why do you even have ashtrays in a non-smoking room? Bottom line, I stay at the Carlsbad Village Motel 6 twice a week (they were full this day) and it is amazing, always clean, the employees are awesome, and I've never once had to ask for anything or had any problem in 2 years. I get that "things happen", but there is a larger issue with standards here. Sorry : (just trying to warn my fellow travelers out there.

Stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights, the wife was attending a training at the Sheraton Carlsbad. Pleasantly surprised with the update in the rooms and extremely happy that there are no carpets but laminated floors. Hotel is very basic, not even shampoo nor Kleenex, but served the purpose of not having to drive back to Orange County. Girl at the Front Desk who checked us in very graciously offered the discount for AARP, and that determined we stayed for a second night that was not planned. Overall, a good place to rest, no frills.

Still an extra charge for Wi-Fi, but cable TV is no extra charge. I thought they were going to change this, include Wi-Fi in the price, like business-oriented motels. Otherwise clean, comfortable, convenient.

Bedding and Towels were stained or dirty. Door lock latch did not work. For those of you who think the floors are hardwood you know nothing about floors. It is vinyl… you know the plastic stuff. The only outlets offered in the room was near the so called table or the bathroom. The lighting sucked horribly. Our room didn't even have a clock. Lol. Thought that was odd. Other than the price, not much more to like. However, I am questioning if the price was worth my stress of it all.

The hotel was nice and clean. The towels were nice and rough, gets all the dirt off. The lady who checked me and my family in was nice as well. Only downside, only double beds. I was told there were queen beds by the reservationists. … Water under the bridge… close to legoland, a good time was had by all.

BEST motel 6 I've been in by far! Hardwood floors & granite countertops by the bathroom area, flat screen with cable TV was a plus. 2 lights away from Legoland. Paid $66 a night for 2 full beds with microwave & fridge on a weekend! Cant beat that. Overall clean, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

If you prefer to spend your money on your trip and not on your room, then this is the place. Because this location charges you $2.99 for WIFY per DEVICE for 24hrs. They don't have an iron in the room, and the room had a wet clothes smell coming from the AC in the room. But over all the location was close to restaurants and stores and by close I mean you have to drive to them.

Overall, great experience. Motel was really close to Legoland so ewe were able to come back and forth. The room itself was clean and smoke free. The bathroom was very clean and kept clean all the time. Room was right next to the pool. Awesome experience and friendly staff. Will definitely recommend it.

I stayed there while visiting Legoland with the kids. It was only 10 minutes drive to get there and was great was it was so close. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. The room did smelled a little smokey but we dealt with it since they were totally booked. I liked the fact that they didn't have carpet in the room. The location was great. As we came back around noon for the kids to nap before heading back again to legoland.

My wife, family and I have stayed at this location on several occasions. The staff are pleasant and helpful and the grounds are very well kept. The accommodations are newly renovated with wood floors, beds and fresh paint! The location and price is what SOLD us on this location. If you are looking for your best "Bang" for your buck and comfort and location then this is the right Motel for you.

My friends and I stay at Motel 6 often as we show our dogs and M6 is a pet friendly motel chain that can generally be depended upon to be clean. This M6 has pergo-type wood floors, which is perfect. Nice and clean and I' wasn't worried about letting my dog on the floor (like some carpeted floors in various motels). In a nice area with good restaurants within walking distance. We stay here annually.
