The only hotel we will stay at when we visit Carlsbad such a pleasant experience very kind staff and perfectly placed directly across the street from the beach.

Well recommended. Great food and staff … not to mention the beach view. For sure we’re coming back….

Have to pay for parking per night! No free Wi-Fi! Old and ran down! Hallways are dirty have a horrible smell! We we’re supposed to stay 3 nights stayed one and checked out and went somewhere else! Do not recommend.

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING! The location ofcourse is great because it’s on the beach BUT that is the only good thing about this hotel, The hallways are humid, Musty & smell bad, Everything from the elevators to the stairways, The carpet is way out dated, Dirty, Stained & falling apart, The hotel “restaurant” is a joke, We were assured a “complimentary” bottle of wine if we purchased food wtf? That’s not complimentary than if I have to buy something to get something, No thanks, The beds were comfortable at least & the ac worked well & the rooms are less than mediocre, Ive literally had better stays at a hotel 6 or best western. The issues with this hotel are really to numerous to note & I feel bad for the staff because they seem like decent hard working folks trying to make the best of a bad situation, This hotel would need at very least a huge renovation, My wife & I will NEVER return, I will never even use a Hilton hotel anywhere ever again, Ya it’s that bad!

Have housekeeping not knock on guests room doors until 12 if they are still checked in. I had housekeeping walk in on us in our room. After I called the desk and reported it they came back after an hour knocking AGAIN. Rather annoying and uncomfortable. The location itself is great, beautiful view of the ocean and easy access to the beach. Just have better communication with housekeeping about guest hospitality and interaction.

Iam here now. They told me resturant and bar were open and could get delivered as room service with no extra charge. LIES, there is no food available at this hotel. I would have NEVER stayed here without food. I was only told after they overcharged me for my 3 nights. Would not come back here again. Some advice, dont lie to your guests!

This is our favorite place to stay when we go to Carlsbad. The rooms are nice and the property is beautiful… this time around they have been remodeling the entire property including the kitchen. The hotel restaurant has very yummy food and an outdoors patio with table firepits, this time they did provide a dinner pasta/ salad buffet and had a breakfast buffet as well to accomdate everyone's needs. The staff has always been helpful and nice, but the best part… it's right across the street from the beach!
I highly recommend this property whether for business travel, weddings, small or large parties or just the two of you! I can't wait to see the rest of the remodel.

Stayed for four nights. Was supprised how small and noisey the room was. I thought since there was a coffee pot in the room coffee would be provided, but no. I also thought handicap parking wasn't allowed to anyone. I'm handicap and had to park at the next building. The service at the desk was trouble, no help and the problems I had and the handling of medical supplies that was delivered there. What a waste of money. So many place to stay. Suggest you done waste your time or money.

Beds r super hard. First night we stayed we had a person pacing above us, then next door we had screaming kids! That were running up and down the hallway screaming and slamming doors … u could hear every noise in this hotel. There is a plus the view is gorgeous.

I stayed 4 nights and wasn't impressed for the money I paid! Elevator broke down, wife said the room smelt like piss, they didn't change the sheets for three days finally I asked them to change them, beds were horrible and hard, pillows were flat, swimming pool water stunk like piss, I was told I was getting a pool and ocean view but all I could see out of my window were trees! I would never pay more than $150 a night for this shithole!

Nice location, awesome views & great location. I highly recommend this location for family and friends. Shhh! It’s a secret don’t tell anyone!

The rooms were nice but the staff was not helpful at all. Whether it was checking in, or out. The ladies at the front weren’t helpful when I was trying to check in because they were more concerned with helping the people there for some event that was going on. Only one room was ready by 3:30, when check in is supposed to be at 3? When I was checking out, the gentleman at the front only checked out of one of my rooms, and an hour after checking out I got an email with a new receipt with a random charge to my room. Only a $3.60 charge, but I was checked out so that happened in beyond me. Great property, close to the ocean and very clean but the staff is not as nice as the property.

We stayed 3 nights here with my family to celebrate our son 5th birthday. Our room is with 2 queen bed that perfect to us, very clean and spacious. The buffet in the restaurant, the food especially when we had breakfast is very delicious. The swimming pool was my son favorite spot. And most of all the view in the beach. If you’re going to Legoland, this is the perfect hotel to stay with your family.

Nice hotel right near the beach. Literally across the street. Very nice view of the ocean. The room on the other hand was okay. Not really what I expected from a Hilton. The emergency light kept flickering (no emergency) and the sink in the bathroom was clogged along with the shower head being Super old (cheap old yellowish white plastic one) … Overall its okay if your just there for one night. Not sure if we would stay again.

This place was clean and staff were very friendly. When I checked in the guy noticed I was here on a work trip he said I hope you get to enjoy some of the beautiful things our city has to offer including the beach across the street. The bartender offered up some suggestions of great places to eat and a few to stay away from. Very enjoyable stay! Thank you!

Beautiful location and comfortable rooms. Pros: great location. Close to shopping, restaurants the beach. Clean and comfortable rooms. Cons/ I paid cash when checking into our room I paid for the hotel room and the parking all at one time. Well apparently the concierge that checked me said I did not pay for the parking, and I like a dummy did not get a receipt. So I ended up paying double for parking! I won’t be back at this hotel again.

We stayed here about a month ago. Had a slight housekeeping issue when we first arrived, but they took care of it and made up for it nicely. But, don't be fooled into following their instructions and going to the right down the road to get to the beach. They tell you it's about a 20-minute walk, but the beach is closer to a mile and a half, and the restaurants are even further. If you go to the left about 300 yards there is an accessible Beach right there. I'm not sure why they drive you so hard to the right, but it is a horribly long walk.

Great view of the Ocean. Nice pool, good breakfast. Great Waitress during breakfast. Remembered our name every morning. Good Staff. Easy access to the beach. With an Outdoor shower to get that sand off before hitting the room. Thanks for the great memories.

This hotel is in a great location. Everything is in close driving distance and easy to get to. Staff is very friendly. Food in the cafe is good and portions are good size. Used gym several days would like to have seen sanitizer to wipe down the equipment after use. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked the different outside seating areas on the property. I highly recommend this hotel.

After the amazing stay we had at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines Hotel, CA we were expecting another terrific experience. The Hilton Garden Inn is a decent enough hotel, but not for the high price we are paying. While "location" is everything, our Ocean View Room overlooks a highway with the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean — no shoreline available for viewing. To access the actual beach you have to cross a major boulevard and walk a mile in either direction. Just not what I expected.

The location is beautiful across the street from the beach and the staff is amazing. My room felt dated but clean. The swimming pool is shallow but really clean. The breakfast buffet is better than most in my opinion. I really enjoyed the cooked to order Denver omelet.

Won't stay here again unfortunately. We were having a wonderful experience here until our final night, and overall the wait/service staff was great to us. However, a large garden party was booked on a Sat eve and it was very loud just outside of our room — where our 2-yr old was attempting to sleep. I called to see if anything could be done and was given no solutions by the staff and manager on duty that evening (other than the standard "free breakfast vouchers" or they could… move us… when it was far too late in the evening for that). No one in the hotel was made aware that there would be amplified sound in the garden that evening (there was signage of an "event" but no clue that there would be loud music and a DJ). The worst part though was the way I was treated by the team there, and was told I was being unreasonable for asking for the sound to be lowered (or by simply asking them for a solution) in a hotel… where people book rooms to sleep… flabbergasting honestly, particularly for a Hilton. I was frustrated, and the manager on duty was clearly in over her head with my request — had no idea how to handle an upset "guest". Strongly advise against staying at this hotel, or at least be sure there are no events booked in the garden during your stay as the event will receive priority over you and your comfort. Stunned that a great brand such as Hilton would allow for this. Never again.

Overall had a decent experience. The staff are friendly and professional. Very close to a lot of attractions like Carlsbad beach, Lego land etc. The facility is great and also offers some ocean view rooms. Pool is clean and kids friendly. The rooms look old but were clean. We had to wait 20 mins before they checked us in as they were still cleaning the room inspite of checking in online so that was a minor glitch in the overall experience during our stay. Overall a decent experience and value for money.

Nice rooms. Very polite staff. Great location with beautiful views of the ocean (in select rooms). Minus one star because the room wasn't available for over an hour after scheduled check-in time, although to be fair they offered complimentary parking as a result.

Great customer service. We landed late but our Rooms were ready. Guess services at front counter are great. They are friendly and communicative ready to listen for yours needs. Very clean, great customer service. We had a lovely stay and even decided to stay an extra day although we had to change rooms. Staff was kind enough to move our luggage while we were out when the next room became available.

Right across from the ocean. Clean rooms and recently updated bathrooms. $15 parking, but it does keep the parking available for the guests and not beach-goers. Limited fitness center with dumbbells, a treadmill and an elliptical. Pool and hot tub are well worth a visit though! Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is lovely. The swimming pool is pretty after a day at the beach. The staff is great!

Do Not book partial ocean view! Waste of money. You get zero view of the ocean. Customer service needs improvement. Also they conveniently forget to tell you about the parking charges! For the money there are better hotels to choose from!

I've enjoyed coming here for business and pleasure. Staff is usually very pleasant. A walk down to the beach is very calming (would be nice if there was a staircase close or something). The patios are also lovely to enjoy the lovely southern California weather.

Customer service was worth mentioning. Food was delicious, although a bit pricey, very enjoyable. Room was clean and spacious, and view to beach from front of hotel was amazing. Patio area with fire pit was wonderful.

We got two adjoining rooms here in February of 2018. The staff seemed friendly and helpful. The location was conveniently close to Legoland, which was our primary destination this trip. When we booked this hotel we had read that there is beach access. The beaches close to the hotel did not look like a fun place to spend the day and we did not easily see any access (though we admittedly did not try very hard to find access since the beaches didn't look great) so we ended up heading down to Tamarack State Beach down the road a few miles. We ate several meals at the hotel restaurant. It was pricey for average tasting food. The pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned in several days. There were hairs, bugs and other things floating around. I spent about 10 minutes doing my best with the net to get what was floating around but still didn't make a dent. The water was warm though, which was nice since we were there in February. If we didn't have little kids with is who we were trying to entertain we would not have swam due to the condition of the pool. After we checked out we felt that we would have been just as well off saving a few bucks and finding a best western to stay at instead where we could have also gotten a continental breakfast included in the nightly rate.

Hilton Garden Inn featured spectacular customer service. We used their meeting room for a company event, and it happened to be the same day as the first rain the area had in awhile. While we were setting up, this exposed a ceiling leak that very slowly dripped in the room we were going to be using. This might sound like a negative, but their response turned it into a positive. Within two hours of letting them know, they had someone come out, fix the roof and replace the ceiling tile so that it looked good as new. Beyond that, the food was great, and the rooms were well upkept. Great location by the beach, too! I highly recommend this location for meetings and events.

I was very impressed with this location. The beach is literally across the street. We enjoyed walking at sunset and after breakfast. It was so convenient to walk right out the front door and cross the street to enjoy the ocean! We were also a quick drive to restaurants, shops, and Legoland. I was very impressed with the pool area. The outdoor pool was actually heated and really heated, just advertised, lol. We enjoyed the hot tub too. Very nice grounds. Beautiful and relaxing. I was very pleased with the dining room staff and breakfast as well. Everything was presented nicely and well stocked. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great attitude, especially our waitress Amy! We have stayed at other locations where the dining room are understaffed and employees are miserable which makes for a much less enjoyable experience. Rooms older and could use updating, especially the restroom. Ours had lots of stains and tub would not drain. Those are my only complaints.

So the bumped us out of our king size bed room into two fulls. This really sucked for a married couple on a relaxing weekend. But, Barbara made it better by comping our parking and a breakfast. Which by the way parking is $15 additional, and breakfast is $16. Breakfast was good just doesn't quite feel worth the $16, it's buffet style but with a chef preparing pancakes, omelettes, bacon and eggs.

We only stayed for a night. Pool seems to be nice, fantastic location in front of beach, breakfast was great. Clean rooms, comfy bed, not stiff, not too soft. TV was a little too small and water pressure was a bit weak so minus one star. We will stay there again if we have another chance.

Stayed here after attending a holiday party hosted in the ballroom. Great location, right across the street from the beach. They had a small store with concessions located in the main lobby that was available 24 hours. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice selection of channels on the TV including HBO and on-demand movie rentals. Would definitely recommend.

We usually stay down the road at the Del Rey Hilton Resort. I have to say that the Hilton Garden Inn was a much better experience for the value. The service is wonderful. The staff is very proactive and accommodating. The engineer noticed me sitting in the courtyard last night and without being asked turned the bistro lights on and then lit the fire. I preferred the restaurant to that of the Del Rey and they have a full bar. The rooms were clean and spacious. No balconies but right across the highway you can sit on a beach chair overlooking the beach. It’s a hike down a steep trail to get to the beach but a short drive or nice walk south down the highway there is beach access at Ponto. If you walk to the right, you can relax on a nearly empty beach below the cliffs. It’s very close to amenities and a quick drive North into Carlsbad Village. Because of the proximity to LEGOland and the lower price point, it is popular among families with small loud children. I suggest requesting to be on the third floor and in an area with no kids. If you want to relax and enjoy peaceful evenings and mornings, it’s the way to go.

3-star hotel is accurate; however, the coastal location is even better. The room was clean, spacious. The courtyard is nice with an outdoor fireplace and seating. The long interior hallways make you feel like a hamster at times; but the location to some great local surf spots and the Outlet stores among other things makes this a great place for the money.

Great location for this Hilton Garden as you can walk across the street to the beach. I had beautiful ocean views of the sunset from my room (not that I stayed inside). There's a large pool and nice outdoor space. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable if rather simple. Mine had a microwave and fridge. The one downside is the $14 daily charge for parking.

Kenny! Kenny! Kenny! I cannot say enough about this fine young man. He made our stay ideal. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and he had wine and cheese sent to our room. He upgraded our room because my husband is a rewards member. He thanked us for choosing Hilton. He recommended a restaurant for us and gave us a coupon for a free appetizer. What a guy! We had a partial view of the ocean, and it was lovely. The hotel is located across the street from the ocean, and if you cross the street on the crosswalk and then go to the left, you'll see an entrance to the local public beach. Well worth the walk. We had the breakfast buffet and it was great. We plan on going back, with the kids, next time. The room was clean, shower great, and everything worked well. Thanks again, Kenny!

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. Our room was a single king room with a partial ocean view. The view overlooked the pool courtyard and out to the ocean. The front desk staff was awesome. Although the hotel does not have a free breakfast included, the breakfast buffet with all the fresh fruit and made to order omelettes, pancakes, and waffles was reasonably priced. There is a small beach right across the road. You can brave climbing down the small bluff, walk a few minutes south, or drive a minute to the easier beach access.

Beautiful location. Liked the layout of the hotel, it was more open than a standard hotel. Looked like a great pool but I wasn't able to use it during this stay. Can walk to the beach!

It's nice that the beach is only a 0.5 mile walk down the street, and you rent beach towels, chairs and an umbrella for $10/day. And the breakfast was pretty good, with friendly service. Front desk personal is also very friendly. Our biggest issue with the room is the lack of attention to detail in cleaning the room. Our shower tub (pictures attached) and the large chair were both dirty.

We had such an awesome time at the Hilton Garden Inn at Carlsbad Beach! The pool area was very relaxing, and we ended up there for most of the day even though the beach was right across the street. We had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and couldn't have been happier. All in all, we can't wait to go back :)

Chef Ricardo Vargas was really nice. He approached us with smile and find us table for breakfast for me anf my family. I really appreciate that. Really good service. The rest of the staff was very helpful.

Best AC ever. Friendly staff. What a fantastic beach for surfing or swimming. Long, slow break. Kids can play fairly safely. Plenty of parking. People should shower before using the pool. I like Hilton. They think outside the box.

Loved it here. Walked to the beach, though that walk was a decent way down the road… Maybe a half mile. Patio seating in nice weather was great, bar had a couple good California brews. Would definitely come here again.

The staff is nice. It was nice of them to have water and cookies in the lobby. Bring your own pool towel unless you want to dry off with a hand towel. Don't take the stairs! I realize stairs are meant to emergency exit, however they were closer to our room then the elevator. I think vaccumming once in a while wouldn't kill them.

If you going to stay there, I recommend that you say on the top floor. We had people up until 3 AM jumping all over the floor above us and they started back at 5:30 AM. It was so loud that it woke us up. Even though we call down to the front desk, it continued for the second night. Then in the morning we had three maids decides to have a full-blown loud conversation outside of our room at 7 am. Otherwise, the restaurant and bar staff were amazing and hospitable. The fact we couldn't sleep for 2 nights ruined the whole experience for us. Location is great!

The location is prime. Right across the beach. Standard hotel amenities. Food service at the pool. Everything is kept clean. The staff is courteous, helpful, and prompt.

The hotel is directly across the street from the beach and just a short drive (less than 10 minutes) to downtown Carlsbad with all of its shops and restaurants. The lobby has lots of comfortable seating. The cooked to order breakfast was good. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. We mentioned that it was our anniversary at check in and they sent up chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of Champagne. It probably helped that I'm a member of Hilton honors, but still it was a very nice gesture. As an added bonus, they have warm cookies in the afternoon. I'd definitely stay here again.

Located right on a cliffside beach, this resort is a great and beautiful location. Many nice restaurants nearby.

Decent rooms, even for those not facing the ocean. AC units blow cool air, but setting it to 66, as I did, didn't make me notice it was coming out cold. Reception desk staff is super friendly, and attentive to your needs. Cleaning staff is good, building needs some renovations in the baths area. But still passable for a beachbside hotel.

Attended a conference here. Small conference. About 50 people. But it was very nice. Clean, awesome location and weather, good food.

You make up your own mind as to what degree you want to protect your personal information. Hilton's web site requires the user authenticate to make changes to personal information including email address. This would indicate that Hilton Corporate understands this information is personal and confidential. What a shame that any organization is so hungry for revenue they are willing to release a client's personal information to another property who in turn shares this information with a third party company to send the blast. Hire professional sales staff that 1) are willing to do the grunt work to properly target an email campaign and not spam every email address they have a record for. 2) handle any and all personal and confidential information appropriately. ______________________________________________________________________ Stayed over New Year's break. Front Desk staff were wonderful, pointed to me a wonderful restaurant/bar called 83 Degrees. Then informed we could take their shuttle into town and be dropped at the door of the restaurant. Pickup was a phone call and 10 minutes away. Facility and rooms are clean and well maintained. They are right across the street from the beach and even have outdoor table tennis to keep the kids entertained. For the price you could not beat it.

I stay at hiltons alot, my room was ok, bed very comfy, decent view, however very unhappy that housekeeping charged me $75 for the room "smelling like smoke". I don't smoke and It smelled slightly like that when I checked in. I called and the management completely blew me off. Terrible customer service for a hilton. I guess $75 is a greater profit than NEVER having my business again.

Stayed at New Year's. Front Desk staff were wonderful, pointed to me a wonderful restaurant/bar called 83 Degrees. Then informed we could take their shuttle into town and we were dropped at the door of the restaurant. Facility and rooms are clean and well maintained. For the price, they are right across the street from the beach and even have a out door tennis table to keep the kids entertained. The only downside is southbound left turn light into the property. At 10 pm, with no one on the road, and waiting over 5 minutes the light never did change.

Perfectly located by the beach. Clean rooms and easy check in. They were not the best at accommodating the Half/Full Marathon participants as they would not allow a late check out… even though one of the event pamphlets was a memo to the hotel asking them to please accommodate late check outs because of traffic and road closures.

I recently came here for my brother's wedding. Had a great time. Food, staff and overall atmosphere was fantastic!

Visited the hotel for two days for a seminar. Clean and well maintained with great access to the ocean. Seminar room was clean and organized but the chairs were horribly uncomfortable. Also the lunches served each day was subpar but I really wasn't expecting it to be all that great to begin with.

Beautiful hotel. Very clean room. The staff is very courteous and helpful. Best part is that it's about 100 feet from the ocean!

I stayed here for 4 nights for Thanksgiving weekend and it was the worst hotel experience I've had. I'm a Hilton Diamond member and I was placed in a second floor room with no ocean view and I had to hear people stomping on the ceiling above me for the entire stay. When asked by the front desk how my room was I told them I was unhappy with it because of the noise level. I was not offered to change rooms. I feel that because of my status with Hilton that I should and at other Hilton hotels I have been given one of the better rooms on the property. I stayed here once before and enjoyed it but this time was my last.

Great hotel with a decent pathway to beach. The California Beach Bistro inside the hotel has great food. The seasoned fries, steak and club sandwich were better than most restaurants you'll find in the area.

The beds are comfortable. Has a laundromat. Hotel smells musty (must be why they have all the windows open) For 40 more dollars you can stay at the Cape Rey up the road with much nicer rooms, nice hotel, they loan out beach supplies and they have a full set of pay per view movies and TV shows.

Absolutely awful service, watch out for the 10% tournament tax and $15 parking per day.

I was not aware that the rooms were as small as they were. Perhaps my bad for not checking. First arrived and kids running everywhere up and down halls loudly. Window in room only opens 6 inches and has a window lock so it can't go any further. 2nd floor at the beach and no fresh air! Hotel was in the process of getting rid of old used mattresses using the same elevator as the guests so sometimes you had to wait for the elevator. Then there was a mattress (used) left in the hallway leaned against wall that had fallen where you had to literally walk around it. My room had a small view of the ocean but the main view was of these old mattresses stacked on other side of parking lot not that far away. They didn't stack them, just tossed in a pile and didn't even try to hide them. Lovely. Very disappointing because of the location you would think there would be something nicer and not so tacky.

I had a chance to stay last year and check out the Flowers Fields nearby. While checked into the room, was experiencing some TV hookups and was taken care off, but for the inconvenience, I was sent a complimentary night stay and a very sincere apology, to stay again and this time, left me no doubt where I will be staying in the very near future. The hotel is located on the beach and hospitality was a added plus. Everything was in order and then some. Without mentioning names, the staff was great. Hotel check in. Food preparations. Clean rooms. Waiters/waitresses. And the list goes on.

A well kept secret within Carlsbad, CA. Great rooms, great hotel employees, great happy hour, great food. And rite across the street from the Pacific Ocean.

My company has utilized the Hilton Garden Inn for both guest rooms and meeting rooms over the years. With amazing views of the Pacific and quick access to all of Carlsbad, this hotel is a great spot to host out of town guests. The Events Management Team is responsive, helpful, and accommodating. It is great to know that the logistics of the meetings are always up to my expectations. Additionally, it is such a perk to be able to offer outside, oceanfront seating for lunch. The perfect breath of fresh air for long meeting days! Newly refreshed, this hotel has a lot to offer both out of town guests and in town companies.

I'm sorry, but I have to drag down the ratings some. This hotel was not worth the cost and bother. It is convenient to Legoland in Carlsbad. There is a nice courtyard, but this is southern California, so everyplace has a nice courtyard. The room rates are high compared to other choices. Perhaps this is because it is kind of near the beach. Don't be fooled though — to get to the beach you need to cross 5 lanes of traffic (there is a light) and descend 150 feet down the cliff. You can't really see beach from the hotel. Then there are the add-ons! $10 a night to park your car! A breakfast buffet that would be free at a lower-priced Hampton is $15! Happy hour is not all that happy, because they don't have draft beer and the bottles are $6-7 each, — $2 for "happy hour. " We did not pay prices like this anywhere else in the San Diego region during our trip. 24 hours a day there is loud music in the lobby, entrance, and hallway near the lobby. I am hard of hearing, and like loud music generally. Except this loud music seemed to always be pre-teen pop. And it was always loud. The one thing that irritated me enough to request (and receive! ) one night off the bill was the toilet. It leaked. And it had a Fluidmaster fill valve. These fill valves are great because they announce when your toilet is leaking by turning on hard to refill the tank and then turning off hard — very noticeable. When this happens at home, I change the flapper and save water.

Allot of people expounded upon the happy hour. I wasn't impressed with it. No cheap drinks. But that is really the only negative I have to say about the place. Besides, there is a supermarket within 3 miles that has cheap beer and wine. I't was a great place, clean and the staff was excellent. In fact, our TV remote didn't work, so after they fixed it they gave use free breakfast brunch tickets for our entire stay. That saved us about $150.

Cosy and very personal. Unpretentious big is quiet and in a tranquil environment to relax and enjoy.

Great hotel. Great location. Great service. We brought our own bikes and they were able to store our bikes for us in their back office, which was nice. No complaints except most of the housekeepers don't speak much English.
