If I could give them a lesser rating I would. We decided to stay here because we had other family staying here. The first night I woke up to a bedbug crawling on the sheet. The young woman at the front desk was nice and understanding and gave us a different room. She told me I could speak to the manager in the morning. I wasn't comfortable staying in another room, but we had no other choice. I went to the front office and asked to speak to the manager and the clerk said he wouldn't be in until Sunday afternoon (we would be heading home by then). I went back to the room. The manager contacted me a few minutes later and said there would have to be an investigation and it wouldn't be possible until Monday. I told him that I understood and if there was a possibility to receive a discount to rent the second room for another night. He said the room would actually be a higher rate because if the day of the week (Saturday). I have not heard anything back from this establishment since then.

Okay for a stop off whilst traveling to another destination.

Having spent the last few years spending multiple nights per summer at the (now named) channel Islands Inn and seeing it's service and atmosphere severely decline we (myself and my wife) decided to try the Vagabond Inn; a motel we had tried about six years ago. I'm happy to say that this place has also changed… for the better. Though I still see a little of the fringe element that once plagued this establishment, overall that part of it is much better. No more homeless congregation at the "picnic area" or groups of Seagulls digging through open dumpsters. The rooms seem cleaner and more modern than they used to. I will seriously consider returning next year, but our particular room this time around had some issues. A set of the electrical outlets didn't work. The refrigerator was on but wasn't the slightest bit cold. The television reception was terrible (Honestly, having managed a RadioShack during the digital conversion era, I don't even know how that happens in this day and age). And the showerhead was old and seriously deteriorated. Some of these issues in this particular unit could be awaiting the completion of the remodeling the manager alluded to. By the way, the staff was courteous and attentive and the room was ready when we arrived (unlike that other motel). So I'm willing to give them a pass this year. Unless I stumble across a great deal at one of the "classier" hotels next year, there's a good chance we'll be back.

Great staff. Nick did everything he could to get me checked in early. Close proximity to the Dallas Cowboys training camp and other restaurants etc. The room was a bit dated but it definitely did the trick for one night.

Because they didn't have rooms ready at 2 o'clock like they said they would have it. They said they would have,. Them ready at 4 o'clock… But one was ready the 1 bedroom bed,,, … So the 2 bedroom bed will be ready in about 45 minutes. So a lot of back-and-forth that's all I have to say about the hotel I've been here before and you know they've had everything always redy this time it looks like the staff was under under understaffed. When you walk into the room and see such a dirty mirror you just get chills, and dulcisinfundum get out of the room in the morning dirty floor and with all the cleaning carts in front of your room. Not recommended improved cleaning! I also want to add that on the last day I open the drawer to do a check, and I found in small amounts, marijuana.

By far the friendliest staff I've ever run across… easy going didn't give me too much of a hassle … checking in the next day without prior Authority from my company… Clean rooms for an older place. Nice definitely recommend it.

My parents recently came to visit and wanted to stay in a hotel. I booked them at the Vagabond and they were very happy. They said that the service was good, the rooms were clean I'll tell you having paid the bill the price was reasonable. I would certainly recommend this for out of town travelers.

The hotel is older but, I think they are trying to keep it up. They also have a nice stuff. If you like Denny's there is one in the same parking lot.

My stay here was pleasant, the property has a park in which we barbecued while also splashing in the pool. Staff was very helpful and informed. The new office manager was genuine and did the best he could to help. Rooms do need some updating though.

The rooms were very clean and well kept. The front desk staff was very friendly, definitely would stay again.

If I could give this place a 0 I would. The manager there is so rude, seems he has no idea what he is doing. I paid way too much for the crappy room I received. At least when the old office manager was there, she could explain things better, and gave me a discount when I had to be moved from room to room because of the roaches! And the housekeeping is as worse as it has always been! Go somewhere else, this place is not worth the hassle.

It was Denny's that I visited not Vagabond but while you ask my opinion is that Vagabond was a nice place to rest your head when needed to. Only the management seemed to change their attitude towards my stay one year that I had to stay over 10 days and downgraded my room to another room that was worn out. I left my socks on and ended up throwing those out because the carpet was so dirty they had black greasy substance all over carpet that I couldn't tell how bad it was. I believe they upgraded their rooms since. So I can't call it. Haven't been there since.

I would have given this place the full five stars due to the wonderful and understanding front desk receptionist we had at the beginning of the night and during our check in process. Later in the night though around 11:00pm we dealt with a very childish and rude receptionist who came banging on my door threatening to kick me out due to a noise complain. My two year old was being… well a two year old. I clearly booked the room for an adult and a child. Not only had I been switched rooms 3 times that night prior to the complain, but I was also now getting threatened to get kicked out. This young girls lacks professionalism and manners. Her rude actions cost this place the remainder of the rating stars it otherwise would have had. I hope to never have to deal with anybody like her again.

I was happy to see the update rooms. They were really nice. The new TV's and the big and fluffy beds they were so comfortable. I did have an issue but thanks to the manager Anthony he fixed it for me. I was happy over all. And will come again like always.

Very clean rooms. I go here every time I come to oxnard. There is a Dennys right next door and on a nice hot day the pool is perfect. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Bravo. The rates are great.

I stayed here for work and they have recently updated their rooms. The rooms are really nice on the beds were comfortable. They also had a nice brand new TVs. I did leave an apple core in the trash and came back to a whole stream of ants in my bathroom but the front desk was quick to respond and the Ants dealt with. The internet was spotty and there was some interesting people staying in some rooms around me. There's a Denny's in the parking lot which is open 24 hours and takes phone orders as well which is convenient in the morning when rushed. The breakfast the hotel serves is just small pastries and cookies and coffee.

Giving 3 stars because with each complaint, they delivered compensation. Hotel is being worked on and changes are being made to upgrade, but both rooms were not cleaned well, had to be moved from original room because it was filthy. Second room had a critter but maintenance took care of it quickly.

I had a nice stay due to the front office staff and the room comfort. Stephanie at the front desk was especially helpful. I will definitely come back!

Like all Vagabond Inns Oxnard is clean and comfortable. Dennys is on property making is easy to find food 24 hours a day. Great place to stay.

We were out of options as we arrived late on Thanksgiving and had to pass the night in Oxnard. The rooms are not nice, you do not feel comfortable touching anything. One room stank of cigarettes in spite of the entire motel being non-smoking. Maintenance and cleaning of the entire premise could be greatly improved. I will try to avoid this motel next time I'm in Oxnard.

Reserved a non smoking room. Received the complete opposite. They had room switched and new room still smelled like smoke just not as bad as first room. First room was so bad could be confused with a smoke area room. Sheets were stained brown in color and entire room wasn’t clean should spend more on cleanliness and room odors. Don’t advertise as non smoking room.

Stephanie the agent in duty when we checked was awesome. Rooms and rates were clean reasonable. Only issue we had was due to renovations going on we had noise all and we were under a family of thundering elephants at night. Granted renovations have to happen and you can't control children all the time.

Pretty decent place and nice staff but needs to work on having more control over the parking area.

Decent hotel, but there was no A/C in the room. The staff was friendly and professional. This hotel offers a 12PM Check-Out time as a standard! Who doesn't love having an extra hour to get ready or to to pack their bags up.

Wasn't the best hotel in Oxnard. But it's okay for one night. The Denny's next to it is pretty good.

The hotel and super are great but the female s who are employed in the Oxnard are in need of proper basic training in costumer service.

I am a female, who stayed alone for 4 nights. It was okay for the price. Its an old motel that needs an upgrade. There were lots of tenants from all walks of life but never did I feel unsafe. I arrived at 8ish in the PM and folks (kid/adults) were in the pool. Housekeeping daily. Great parking.
